Author's Notes:

A bit more on the dramatic side for this one. I feel like I should maybe have another story up to follow up on the events here to expand some more on their relationship, but hey, that's me. You tell me what you think.

In the few weeks in trying to adjust and look for ways of making money, the Song Of The Sea were all doing their best in trying to prepare themselves for the big upcoming event that was coming in a few weeks. But for the time being, they were just going to practice and try and register to participate in the games. The Dazzlings didn't however, their heads were more focused in trying to find ways to make money to pay for the damages.

Most of the auditions were being honed in the auditorium, where a few students and Vice-Principal Celestia would be watching, seeing their performances and skills. Only from there would they be chosen to either be part of the Friendship Game representatives, or to not be in at all.

Principal Luna had been with Vice-Principal Celestia for part of the time, judging the people who performed. But she had to run back to her office to get something. When she opened the door, she nearly was startled by the man that was in her office. Sitting in one of the waiting chairs, was an older man around his late 30s, with light blue skin and black hair.

"Um, hello. How may I help you?"

It only took a second, but the principal started to look a little closer. This man looked familiar to her.

"Principal Luna, my name is Bronze Weld. I need to speak to my daughter. Amethyst Star?"

"Wait, I remember you now. You're her father, aren't you?"

"Yes, I am. I got a call from the school saying she was back in again. But I need to talk with her."

"For what, may I ask?" Principal Luna asked.

The older man sighed, cupping his face. "I'm afraid my daughter and I left on a bad note. She told me she was expelled from here, I tried to talk to her but... she ran away."

Principal Luna blinked. "Oh dear... I'll page her down, just give me a second."

But what they didn't see was that Amethyst had in fact seen them. She was outside the main foyer, and she listened in on their conversation. She could see who was in the office, and seeing the man there made her heart sink. She remembered everything that happened upon that day.

Amethyst Star's body shook and wobbled as she sat in one of the rooms at the Principal's main office. She had her stuff gathered together like she was asked, and could only imagine what they were going to say to her. After so many of the horrible pranks and attacks that they gave them, she wanted to strike back. She could only guess that maybe she was going to be suspended for a bit for attacking a student, or at the very least just be picked up by her father.

Eventually the door opened up, revealing one of the staff members. She looked down with a heavy frown on her face, and looked back up to Amethyst.

"Amethyst Star. I'm afraid we have no choice."

"W-What do you mean?" Amethyst asked.

"Amethyst Star. I don't wish to do this but... after looking at the evidence that has been provided to me, I'm afraid you have been expelled. You're going to have to leave the premises within the next hour."

That one single piece of news dropped on her like an anvil. She was expelled. Not any of the Rainbooms, not Sunset Shimmer, herself. All of the pain that she had been through, all of the torment and nonstop bullying... it was all for nothing. She was the one receiving the punishment, not them.

Looking like she had just entered comatose, she grabbed her things and left the office without saying a word. She didn't even look back at any of the staff or the principals. With her head hung low, she just walked out of there. She couldn't talk to them. She didn't want to face them. Not after this. And worse, she was going to have to talk to her father about this...

Amethyst sat on a bench, outside in one of the main hallways. She couldn't go back in there and face her dad.

Once Amethyst was called, Bronze just sat there, thinking. How was he going to approach this? He never even got to talk to her on that faithful day...

Bronze sat at in his office in their home, working away on his computer. Several articles and reports he had to write for the daily paper, and he needed to get them done as soon as possible. Thankfully, progress was moving incredibly smoothly. Surely his daughter would be proud.

He heard the front door open. Carefully he walked out, and a smile came on his face.

"Amy, hey, how was school--"

"Don't talk to me... please, just don't talk to me..."

Amethyst grabbed her things and started moving up the stairs.

"Amethyst, what's going on?"

"There's nothing to talk about! I'm expelled, that's it! And no one cares!"

Bronze now felt like the anvil got dropped on him.

"What!?"

She got too far away for him to try and speak. Trying to follow after, he walked up the stairs, trying to get to her room. All he got was the door slamming in his face and the lock tightening.

"Amy. Please open the door," Bronze said in a calm voice.

He waited for a reply. Any reply at all. Nothing. He listened in, and he could hear a small sound of crying coming from the other side. Letting his hand go off the door, he stopped himself and he spoke as calm as he could.

"Listen, I'm not mad. But we need to talk about this, okay? I just want to know what's going on. When you're calm enough, please come downstairs. I'll be waiting for you. I love you."

Amethyst listened closely, and he heard her father walking away from the door and going downstairs. The inevitable would have to come. She'd have to talk to him about what happened that day. But she couldn't. She couldn't get herself to talk. Not when so many horrible ideas and outcomes could come from this scenario. She'd most likely be grounded for eternity. But what was she going to do? Well, there was only one thing that came into her head.

One Hour Later

An hour or so passed by when Bronze and Amethyst last spoke. And he was quickly starting to get worried. Amy never stayed hidden for this long. And she'd never keep this silent from her father. He had to talk to her, and it had to be now.

He walked back upstairs, and in one of his hands he had a small plate which had a little bit of food. If there was one thing that could open her up, it'd be food. She'd never resist it. Knocking on the door, he stood still, waiting for his daughter to come and open up.

"Amy? Its just me. I want to talk to you. I know you're probably distressed right now, but I need to talk to you."

No sound. Not even a movement or any echo on the other side.

"Amy?"

He knocked again, a little harder than before. Maybe she was just asleep? No. She would have heard his noises. He practically stomped up the stairs like an elephant.

As much as he didn't want to, he put his hand on the door knob, trying to open the door. It jiggled a bit, but he couldn't get in. Looking up, he saw a small silver key hanging above the doorframe. Thank goodness for that. 'I think I may need to find a better place to put that', he thought.

Using the key on the door, he opened it up carefully. But the minute he looked inside, the plate that was in his hand immediately was loose from his grip and it shattered into pieces on the floor. The bed was heavily messy, several drawers and closets had been open with many clothes and other accessories gone, and to top it all, the window that led to the outside was wide open.

"No... Amy? Amy?"

He was about to move away until he looked down and found a small letter on the floor. In big letters it read, 'To Dad'. He picked it up and flipped it over, reading the note that had been left. And on that note he could see a few damp marks were left on that paper.

By the time you read this note, I will have gone away and going out to find my own place to live. I'm sorry, but I just can't stay here if you ever found out. I'm sure you already know that I've been expelled. But as of now, I'm going on my own path now. I can never go near CHS ever again, thanks to those Sonic Rainbooms for making me look like I'm the one at fault. I understand if you never want to see me again, and I know you probably won't love me anymore.

I'm sorry,

your poor excuse of a daughter, Amethyst.

His face went from horrified to scared in a micro-second.

He quickly ran outside, a panicked look on his face. Surely she shouldn't have gone far, right? He ran to the spot, looking to see if there was any chance she didn't leave yet. But as he got around to the spot where she would have been, she wasn't there. She wasn't in the place where she could have jumped to. She was completely gone, and she wasn't in the house. Not outside, not inside.

He collapsed to his knees as tears streamed down his face. The only child that he had, the only child that he loved with all of his heart... was gone.

"No... No... NO!!!"

The sound of his scared screams were echoes in his head. All the pain of the past was resurfacing again, creating a blank face void of expression. Not wanting to talk any more, he stepped out of the principal's office, closing the door behind him.

Bronze went back outside, sighing heavily and he put his head against the wall, leaning back. He didn't know how to handle this right now. He had not spoken to her for a very long time, and he had been worried sick ever since that day.

Looking to the left, he noticed something was amiss. There was only one person in that hallway other than him. A tuft of purple hair over neon blue shoulder pads, attached to a human being. She was sitting on the bench, with her head hung low, twiddling her fingers.

He was totally lost right now. How was he going to approach this? How would he try and handle this situation? Well, there was only way he knew how.

Slowly, trying not to scare her away, he slowly walked towards the bench she was sitting on. Carefully, he sat down on the other end, trying to keep a fair distance from her. He knew she valued her space, and it would only be fair that he valued her space too.

"Hey."

Amethyst twiddled her fingers a few more times, until she stopped. She didn't look back, but she recognized that voice.

"Hey."

Bronze was silent for a few moments. But then he spoke.

"So, I heard that you're allowed back in again."

Amethyst still didn't look back. She could only picture what he'd be looking like; angry, upset, frustrated. Probably never wanting to see her again.

"Yes."

She still didn't look at him.

"Can we talk?"

Amethyst didn't have much to say, but she decided to talk anyway.

"What's there to talk about?"

Bronze tried to look down, trying to see into her eyes. "Why did you run away from home?"

Amethyst turned her head away. "I don't want to talk about it..."

"Amy. Please, I just want to talk to you. Its okay."

Amethyst felt her hands shaking up again. The feeling of what happened before was returning, along with her lips starting to quiver. Her eyes shut, and she felt water push past her eyes.

"Amy?" Bronze asked.

He heard a small whimper come from her shaky voice.

"I... I was scared..."

"What?" Bronze moved a little closer, trying to hear her.

"I was scared... I... I thought... I thought you'd never want to see me again. I thought when you found out that you'd kick me out of the only home I have and... you'd never want me near you again, and... and you wouldn't love me anymore!"

Amethyst's hands cupped her face, and her father could hear her sobbing past those gloves. With instinct in mind, he moved close and pulled her in, trying to give her a hug. She didn't try and move away, but she still couldn't look back at him.

"Shh... its okay..." Bronze said, rubbing her back.

"I... I'm so sorry you have such a horrible person as a daughter..." Amethyst cried.

"Sweetheart?"

Amethyst pulled away, and Bronze raised her chin up, looking her in the eye. What she was expecting was an angry look, but was instead the most emphatic and forgiving face she ever saw from anyone. No hate, no fear.

"I never thought you were a horrible person. I never once had the thought you were bad in any shape or way."

Amethyst sniffled. "B-But... but I got expelled..."

"Sweetie, if that happened, I wish you would have talked to me. I wouldn't have kicked you out of my life because of that."

"Y-You wouldn't?"

Her father shook his head. "You're my daughter. I love you more than anything else in the world. If you needed help, I would always be there for you."

Amethyst sniffled, and she felt her father's hand wipe a tear off from her face.

"I'm... I'm sorry..."

"Shh... its okay." Bronze brought her back in for another hug, allowing her to let her head rest on his shoulder while he hugged her. He could hear her slowly breathing, trying to calm down. He never saw her daughter so shaken up in all of his life. Never before, she was never seen this shaken up.

Once Amethyst was released from the hug, she was offered a tissue to clear her face and to blow her nose. Once she cleared her air valves, her father spoke again.

"Amethyst, I want you to listen. If something like this had ever happened, I would never abandon you. I'd want you to tell me your side of the story, so I can understand. But I'd never kick you out of my life."

"N-Never?"

"Never."

For once, a small smile started to form on her face.

"Daddy, I... I don't know what to say..."

"Its okay. Come here," Bronze said, hugging her again. She let her arms go all the way and she hugged him fully, both of them finally calming down. He could feel his only child starting to calm down and slowly relieve the worries away.

"I've missed you so much sweetheart..."

"I've missed you too. I'm so sorry..." Amethyst cried.

"Shh..." Bronze whispered, patting her back. "Its okay..."

After calming down again, the two of them pulled out of the hug, looking each other in the eyes.

"I know we've had some rough patches but... I want to make things better with us." Bronze said. "If there's any kind of problems, and I mean any problems, please tell me. I will help you no matter what."

Amethyst smiled. "Thanks Dad."

His hand lightly ruffled up her hair, making her giggle.

"Dad, come on..."

"How do you keep your hair so clean?"

"Its just, stuff, you know..."

Her father chuckled and got back up on his feet. Amethyst followed too.

"So if we're getting back on track here... I want you to come back and move in with me. I don't know where you're living, but I think you should be in a place where you can still enjoy being a kid. You're still young you know?"

Amethyst sighed. "I know."

A moment of silence hushed over the two of them. They were too busy trying to figure out where to go to from there.

"Perhaps if you don't mind... maybe I can meet your friends?"

Amethyst smiled. "Of course. Follow me."

The two of them walked down the hallway, as Amethyst started to lead her dad over to the auditorium where the tryouts for the Friendship Games were continuing to commence.

"Amy. Alright if I ask you something?"

"Uh... sure?"

"I don't know if I am seeing this correctly, but are you wearing parachute pants? And shoulder pads?"

Amethyst chuckled. "Maybe?"

"Okay, here's my second question, why are you wearing parachute pants and shoulder pads?"

"Uh..." Amethyst rubbed her hand on the back of her head. "I like it?"

Bronze raised a brow at her for a second, but it lowered back down.

"Well as long as it doesn't violate any rules and or doesn't make people make fun of you, then I suppose its okay."

"Thanks," Amethyst smiled.

Bronze felt a slight smirk creep up. "They still look rather goofy."

Amethyst giggled. "Goofy is my kind of style."

As the two conversed, they kept walking down the hallway going on their way to the gymnasium where the tryouts would be happening. They may have made up, but the two of them know deep down inside, they had a lot of catching up to do. And they would be happy to be part of a family once again.
