Graduation And Celebration (Edited)

-Class of 2017 Auditorium-

The sounds of chatter reverberated around the inside of a large building. Several people, fellow students, teachers and faculty, along with the parents of the students were sitting in the seats waiting for the big announcement. A woman soon walked out to the podium. She wore a simple plaid business suit and a pair of reading glasses, donning a bright smile on her face as she looked at the crowd.

“Alright everyone, settle down. We’re gathered here today to see off the next generation of students that will very soon see the world for themselves. They have come very far in their lives, and as their principal I just want to say how proud I am of you all. Because today, for the first time in the school's history, the entire senior student body will graduate from Manehattan High.” A loud round of applause was given to the students as many smiled at them for their achievement.

While the Principal was giving her speech, several students were standing behind a large red curtain waiting to be called out. One of those students in his cap’n’gown was Dusk Shine. He was standing with his senior colleagues in his blue and gold colored gown on the verge of sweating in his gown and fidgeting in place, rather worried about the graduation ceremony. He was nervous since life for him was going to be different for him. He was no longer a teenager but a young man. He tugged at the gown with a hand feeling anxious while he waited until the principal called out his name, meaning he’d have to walk up on stage.

“What if something goes wrong at the ceremony, what if the lights go out and I trip and make a fool of myself, or what if I’m not called up at all and I’m held back?! What if a large hulking monster busts through the school and ruins the ceremony, what if-”

“Hey, Dusk.” A hand landed on his shoulder, making the young male flinch and halting any further scenarios running through his mind. He then turned around to see one of his childhood friends Moondancer giving him a warm smile.

“Oh, hey Moondancer,” Dusk said, sighing in relief.

“Why so jumpy?” She teased.

“Sorry it’s just... I’m nervous ok?” he replied in a soft tone. “Our lives are going to start changing now since we’re not teenagers anymore, we’re practically turning into grown ups now.”

“It just means our lives are gonna be moving forward from here on out,” Moondancer replied with a smile.

“We couldn’t agree more.” Another female voice called out, causing both to turn their heads to the direction of the voices. Two more female students that they both recognized as they walked towards the group.

“Hey Starlight. Sunstone,” Moondancer replied in a cheery tone.

“Hey Dusk, Moondancer,” Starlight greeted as she and her friend were in their cap'n gowns as well. They were in white and gold lace gowns with white caps on their heads.

“What’s wrong Dusk?” Sunstone replied as she noticed the look on his face.

“Just feeling a little uneasy about what we plan to do with each other’s lives now is all,” Dusk replied.

“You need to stop being such a worry wart,” Starlight replied in a cheery tone. “I doubt no matter where we are, we’re not going to change.”

“I guess you’re right,” Dusk replied.

“Come on, you remembered our promise right?” Sunstone replied, grinning at him.

“Yeah of course I remember,” Dusk added, crossing his arms. “How could I not? We all promised that no matter what, we won’t let anything ruin our friendship and we’ll always stay in touch.”

“Just wanted to be sure bookworm,” Sunstone teased, messing with his mane. The girls and Dusk each shared a laugh and the lights soon dimmed until the stage lights shined onto the curtains.

“And now without further ado, ladies and gentlemen our graduating senior class,” Principal Scroll said on the microphone as the curtains opened to reveal the graduating seniors behind the blinds.

Today was the day. Dusk was very happy as were three of his classmates and best friends. Today, they and their senior class were graduating from Manehattan High School. His class had made history with all seniors graduating and walking off the stage with their diplomas after having their names called out, each one wearing a proud smile on their faces. Once the last student was back in their seat with their diploma, the principal popped open a bottle of cider and the students all threw their hats in the air, celebrating their graduation as the crowd cheered.

-Later-

It was around 8:00 pm when the ceremony ended and mostly everyone had left the auditorium, going outside to the parking lot with their families or loved ones to celebrate. Dusk, Moondancer, Starlight, and Sunstone all went out together and looked for their parents outside.

“We made history, everyone.” Starlight replied in a cheerful tone as she looked at two of her friends.

“Man, I’d thought we’d never get out of there,” Dusk replied, feeling relieved as he joined his three friends outside in the parking lot.

“Someone’s looking calm now,” Moondancer replied.

“Well, I was thinking that I wouldn’t graduate, but here we are.” He sighed in relief.

“Hey, we’re all here so there’s no rush,” Sunstone added. “Now we just need to relax for summer vacation and leave thinking about college for later.”

“Dusk!” A female voice called out, making the four friends freeze in place. They then turned to where the voice came from and see two adult mares and two adult stallions standing in front of a nearby car, one of them waving at the group.

“Oh no…” Dusk groaned.

“Whyyyy?” Starlight moaned while slapping her forehead.

“Can’t even relax for a second,” Moondancer sighed.

“Give me a break,” Sunstone grimaced.

The group of adults walked to the graduates and one of the women grabbed Dusk by the shoulders and started to kiss him on the cheeks with a large smile.

“Oh I’m so proud of you Dusk!” Dusk’s mother cheered as she wrapped him in a big bear hug, preventing him from saying anything. Dusk struggled to breathe while his face was left smothered in his mother’s bust

“Mooommm, come on,” Dusk managed to say while blushing heavily as his mother’s breasts squished against his head.

“But I can’t help it, my little colt has become a stallion!” She replied, rubbing her son against her chest.“I’m just so proud of you for graduating alongside your fellow classmates! Ooohhh this is the best day of our lives!” Dusk heard a few other students giggling at his expense as his mom kept showering him with affection. Starlight was starting to feel uncomfortable watching this, so she decided to step in.

“Now come on Mrs. Velvet,” Starlight replied. “We’re not kids anymore, so could you please not embarrass us outside?”

“And there’s the fact that Dusk is struggling to breathe right now,” Moondancer added. Velvet then looking down noticed her son’s embarrassed look and decided to finally let go a little, still keeping him trapped in her breasts.

“I’m sorry honey. I’m just really happy that you and your sister got to graduate! I’m so proud of you both I could just cry,” She sniffled, tears welling up in her eyes.

“Now Velvet dear, you remember what we talked about right?” Night Light spoke up, making Velvet turn to her husband with an arched eyebrow.

“No, what did we talk about?” She asked her husband, not caring that her son was still trapped in her bosom and looking like he was going to pass out with embarrassment.

“We talked about giving our son space after what you did last time.”

“Oh come now, what I did wasn’t that bad.” She replied with a shake of her head.

“You embarrassed him at his tenth birthday party to where he wouldn't leave his room for weeks,” Moondancer replied somewhat flatly.

“Moondancer, please don’t bring that up,” Starlight said with a small blush. “It was awkward for all of us. And Mrs. Velvet, you’re still smothering Dusk,” She added, pointing to the barely conscious stallion who was struggling to breathe.

“Oh, I’m sorry dear!” Velvet replied, quickly letting go of the blushing stallion whose face was firetruck red with embarrassment.

“Can we just please get in the car?” Dusk pleaded as his voice cracked.

“Of course,” Velvet replied. “Stellar and I have made a big dinner to celebrate your graduation as well as these three perfect angels.” She then reached out for another hug towards the three, but the girls weren't having any of it, especially Starlight and Sunstone.

“Velvet, no offense but it’s been a long day and I’d rather be home and getting ready for summer vacation,” Starlight replied quickly.

“Yeah plus I’m starving.” Sunstone added with a nod, before putting a hand to her stomach as it growled with hunger. “I haven’t eaten anything all afternoon.”

“Well we’ll have plenty to eat for your celebration.” Night Light replied with a warm smile. “You’ve all earned it, and they made your favorites.”

“Sweet!” The students replied in unison with a bright cheer as they got in the car, excited to eat the delicious food. Secretly though, the idea was a chance to get away from the crowd with Dusk’s embarrassing mother.

-Sparkle Home-

Everyone arrived at the house and once inside, the group of friends were amazed with the large amounts of food surrounding them. There was the group's favorite pizza, soups, and Velvet’s Triple Decker Germane Chocolate Cake, along with many other things.

“Okay, you and Stellar really went all out for this,” Moondancer said as she and her friend’s mouths watered at everything that was served.

“Well it’s not like our kids get to graduate every day,” Night Light replied with a warm smile and a chuckle. “Fix your plates and meet us at the dinner table.”

“Alright,” Dusk and the girls replied with a cheerful tone as they went and started to fix their plates. The parents, meanwhile, walked into the other room just to wait on the group to finish up.

“Aw man this spread looks great!” Starlight said as she drooled a little.

“You can thank our parents for this. My mom makes the best chocolate cake in the world!” Dusk said happily, filling up his plate with food as he spoke.

“I can second that. She’s the best,” Moondancer added with a soft smile, licking her lips as she glanced at the large cake.

“You know Dusk, it was really nice of your parents to adopt Moondancer,” Suntone said with a warm smile.

“Yeah, it was,” Moondancer sighed, leaning into Dusk a little. Moondancer was rather close to Dusk and with good reason. Ever since she’d lost her parents in a raging fire that claimed their lives many years ago, she’d always felt alone, even when her parents had been still alive. Before the fire claimed her life, her parents managed to get her out right before a burning timber came down on them. Dusk was the first to comfort her after her parents were lost, and she was soon adopted into the family, with her being very close to him ever since.

“Hey, it was out of the kindness of their hearts,” Dusk replied with a smile. “Plus Mom did always say that she wanted another child.”

“It’s because of that kindness that I’m even here,” Moondancer replied, leaning closer to Dusk and placing her hand on his chest.

“Um...Moondancer…” Dusk said in an awkward tone as he looked down. “Your tray is starting to spill.” Upon hearing that, Moondancer stopped leaning onto Dusk and looked down, where she saw that some of the food she’d picked out were now on the floor.

“Oh...um...sorry…” She replied, feeling rather flustered as she set her tray down. She then ran to the nearest paper towel rack and pulled out a few to clean up her mess.

‘I honestly don’t get why she keeps doing that.’ Dusk thought to himself as he got what he wanted for his tray. He then turned to Starlight and Sunstone, who gave him a look of pure disappointment.

“Seriously Dusk?” Starlight replied dully. “You have no clue as to why she’s like that do you?”

“No. What’d I do?” Dusk asked, a little offended at her remark.

“If you can't figure it out, you’re hopeless,” Sunstone said with a bit of sarcasm. Dusk, confused and a little irritated at their mysteriousness, decided to change the subject so he wouldn’t get no annoyed.

“So...are you two going to tell your parents about your relationship?” Dusk asked the two teens, making them flinch as they fidgeted with each other’s hands.

“Um no...we...we haven’t really planned on it much to be honest,” Sunstone replied nervously, a bead of sweat running down the side of her head.

“But we do want to,” Starlight added with a nod. “But you know how our parents are. We just don’t know when the right time is to tell them.”

“Yeah, I can already see those two freaking out to be honest,” Dusk replied with a nod. Moondancer soon returned with her plate of food and the group walked into the dining room to join their parents.

“Well now, look who's finally here,” Velvet teased. “If I didn’t know any better you four were up to something.”

“We were just talking about future plans for our lives, mom,” Dusk replied as he took his seat.

“Well I’m sure whatever you and your friends have planned, We’ll respect whatever you do with your lives since it’s your future after all,” Night Light said with a warm smile.

Dusk smiled as he took a bite out of his pizza, humming happily at the delicious taste. He then began to take a sip from his soda can when Stellar Flare brought up a very specific question.

“Speaking of future plans, which of our daughter's do you plan to choose as your wife?” She asked in a nonchalant manner. Upon hearing the question, Dusk flinched and did a large spit take, with a coughing fit starting as well.

“MOM!!!” Sunstone exclaimed, blushing crimson at her mom’s question.

“Oh Stellar not this again,” Night Light sighed, knowing what this will lead to.

“It’s just an innocent question, Night Light. I’m only concerned about Dusk here since he’ll be going off on his own and my daughter will be having a lot of competition when he leaves in a few months,” She said with a grin, making both teens blush at her forwardness.

“Mom...please stop,” Sunstone moaned.

“Hush now sweetie...mommy is talking. I don’t see why you two have never dated. I mean look at yourself honey, you’re a young sexy, single girl with no boyfriend. And you’re always hanging out with Starlight over here,” She pointed out, gesturing her hand to the girl, who was somewhat offended at her statement.

‘Heh she doesn’t seem to mind hanging out with me,’ She thought to herself while secretly squeezing Sunstone's hand under the table, making her smile.

“I just think given Dusk's background and how close you two are he would be the perfect man for your future, not to mention he’s a fairly handsome man that I believe is husband material. Don’t you think so, Velvet?” She asked, turning to said woman.

“We’re just friends, Mrs. Flare.” Dusk replied, hoping he can help rescue his friend from further embarrassment.

“Oh Dusk, I told you this already just call me Stellar. We’re all friends here aren’t we?” She said as she looked at Velvet expectantly.

“Well I won’t lie that your daughter is certainly a good looking young woman, Stellar,” Velvet began. Dusk opened his mouth to speak up, but she held her hand out in response, stopping Dusk from speaking. “I just believe that Dusk should choose who he marries or falls in love with. He’s an adult and is capable of making his own decisions, including whoever he chooses to be with in his life,” She continued as she turned to her son who was giving her a grateful smile.

“Well I’m sure that my Starlight would be a perfect wife to Dusk Shine,” Firelight replied, glaring at Stellar Flare who of course shot her own glare at the prideful man.

“DAD!!!” Starlight yelled blushing red, slamming her hands on the table while staring at him with wide eyes.

“Nowhere close to my little Sunstone,” Stellar Flare countered with a bit of a frown.

“MOM!!! COME ON!!” Sunstone added, still rather flustered from earlier.

“Well I’ll have you know that Sunstone has been exceptional in her calculus classes. She’s able to solve her advanced calculus problems in under thirty seconds!”

“At least Starlight has been learning advanced runic spells in case of an emergency. And her reaction time is half that,” Firelight said with pride.

“She wasn’t the champion of the chess team!” Stellar said smugly. “Sunstone won fifteen times without a single loss,” She declared with a large grin.

“Pfft! Who cares about moving a bunch of wooden pieces around a wooden board. It’s pointless.”

“Hey!” Sunstone exclaimed, feeling rather offended at his remark, but the man ignored her and continued staring down at Stellar.

“My daughter got the award for greatest service to the city. And is still nominated for the science award for next year, unlike your daughter.”

“Dad!”

It went from a peaceful talk to an argument extremely quickly between the two parents, while Velvet and Night Light had frustrated looks on their faces. Dusk, Starlight, Sunset, and Moondancer just looked at each other as the two continued to argue with one another, completely oblivious to how their arguing was affecting everyone else.

“I hate it when they do this,” Starlight whispered to the group as Stellar Flare and Firelight kept arguing with one another.

“That makes two of us,” Dusk added with his cheeks still rather pink from the earlier question.

“Please, have you seen THESE!” Stellar exclaimed, groping her daughter’s ass firmly, causing her to yelp loudly. “Look at these pillows! Are you telling me that your daughter could possibly satisfy Dusk HALF as much as these lovely lumps?”

‘Oh god please stop!!’ Dusk thought, burying his head in his arms, as he didn’t want to even think of his friends in that sort of light.

“Oh really?” Firelight added as he turned to Starlight.

“Dad, what are…” she trailed her eyes down to where her father was looking. “No. NO. Don’t, you even dare!!”

“Well, Stellar over there seems to think that you don’t compare to her daughter, but I’ve seen how you strap down yourself before putting on your shirt!”

“Dad, no-”

Firelight quickly reached behind Starlight and down her shirt’s neck, before he pulled out a shiny piece of rectangular. Everyone then heard the sound of fabric ripping before Starlight’s shirt fell to the floor, the sound prompting Dusk to look up to see what had happened.

‘I need an adult’ She thought to herself with anger and embarrassment as everyone was now looking at Starlight, who was now sitting in only a strapless bra while her Size D cup breasts hugged the garment tightly, showing off a bunch of cleavage. Dusk and Sunstone couldn’t help but stare at the now bra-clad woman, who was blushing furiously in embarrassment and quickly growing anger.

“See!? My girl’s got Gallons over your daughter’s puny cups!” Firelight stated with a grin, groping his daughter’s bra-clad breasts, which upset Stellar Flare very much. But the one who was really upset was Starlight since her own father had flashed her in front of her friends. She was so freaked out over what had happened and angry at her father for doing that without warning, that she whirled around and uppercut him in the face, causing him to fall backwards onto the floor. He then cupped his face in pain while everyone stared at the seething fury on Starlight’s face.

“Ow...what was that...for…?” He asked as he looked up from the floor, rubbing his face as he did so. He then saw a very pissed off Starlight Glimmer glaring at him, her cheeks now dark red with anger and embarrassment as she covered her top with a hand.

“You know, you’re very lucky that we’re the only ones around right now! If anyone else had seen that, you’d be thrown in jail for that, Dad!” Starlight yelled while fuming at him.

‘Real smooth Firelight,’ Dusk thought to himself, looking down at the table with embarrassment and disappointment. Sunstone and Moondancer did the exact same thing after witnessing their friend getting embarrassed in front of them.

“Hah, I see what’s going on here. Making up for a lack in brain for a pack in bust?” Stellar remarked, breaking the silence, and everyone else turned towards Stellar Flare.

“HEY!!” Starlight remarked with anger, while Firelight got pissed hearing that and glared at Stellar.

“How dare you?!” He replied, immediately standing up to his full height. “You think you can make your daughter’s lazy, fat ass look attractive?? I bet the only reason she’s got half that junk in the trunk is because she takes after her own lazy cow of a mother!”

“EXCUSE ME!?” Both Stellar and Sunstone yelled in outrage, shocked at what he’d said.

‘Says the guy with a monthly subscription to Backdoor Sluts Catalogue,’ Starlight thought to herself with a frown.

“Well at least-”

“ENOUGH ALREADY!!” Shouted Twilight Velvet, quickly silencing everyone. They all turned to see the very angry woman, the sounds of something cracking in her hands showing that she was very pissed. They looked towards her left hand to see that she was holding a glass covered in multiple web-like cracks, indicating it was ready to break in her hands as she clenched it furiously.

‘Oh, she looks like she’s about to blow,’ Dusk thought with worry, everyone else probably thinking the same thing as they looked at her.

“Um…”

“You know what, mayb-EH!”

Firelight and Stellar were wreathed in a lavender glow as Velvet’s horn lit up with magic. She held out her hand with her fingers and snapped them, forcing the parents into their seats, unable to move due to her restrictive magic.

“You’ll both be quiet or else,” She growled, making the two adults gulp quietly while Velvet turned to the group of teens with a large smile.

“Why don’t you all go upstairs and eat while I have a talk with these two?” She said in her normal calm and motherly tone. The four friends knew that when she’s like this, one shouldn’t argue with her, so they listened to her. Taking their trays, they headed towards the stairs that led up to Dusk’s room, leaving the four adults alone in the dining room.

“Good idea mom. We’ll try to be quiet,” Dusk replied as he started up the staircase with Starlight, Moondancer, and Sunstone in tow up to his room. Once they were gone, she turned back to Stellar Flare and Firelight with a very dark glare.

‘Oh Celestia, she’s going to melt me,’ Stellar thought, feeling her pussy grow a bit wet with arousal.

‘Oh Celestia, she’s so scary it’s turning me on!’ Firelight thought as his cock hardened a bit.

“Is everything a competition between our kids with the both of you?” Velvet replied in a dark tone. “Since their childhood everything has been a competition between you two, always wanting to outdo the other. Well let me tell you something. Everyone is sick of it!”

“But-” They both attempted to speak up, only Velvet wasn’t having any of it.

“QUIET!!” She shouted, stomping on the floor, which caused a shockwave, making the two of them freeze in place again. “You’re both adults and yet you act like goddamn children! Not to mention that little stunt you did with your daughters was especially uncalled for!! I doubt that Starlight wanted to be stripped in front of everyone just to feel even more embarrassed!”

Both parents blushed and recoiled after hearing that from Velvet, and slowly thought about their actions from earlier.

“Also she was right about one thing, you were lucky that it was just us,” Velvet added in a dark tone, her narrow eyes glaring at them. “Had it been anyone else you both probably would’ve gotten arrested or worse.” She let that last statement hang in the air for a while, with the two parents shuddering at the thought.

“They’re fresh out of high school and are busy figuring out which dream college they want to attend, and you two are sitting here arguing like five year olds about who’s better to be with my son. Need I remind you two that it is up to Dusk himself, not the two of you, and I am capable of making sure he doesn’t date anyone until he leaves for college. Do you have any idea how much pressure this puts on your daughters too. What if they don’t want to be with Dusk? What if they want to be with someone else like each other??” Velvet remarked.

‘Pfftt yeah right,’ Firelight snorted to himself with a shrug.

‘Like that’ll happen,’ Stellar thought with a roll of her eyes.

Velvet sighed as she read their faces and shook her head at them. ‘They’re as clueless as Dusk,’ She thought with annoyance.

“You two need to apologize to your daughters first thing in the morning, but right now would it kill you two to just set your ‘competition’ aside and just let our kids be kids for the rest of the summer?” She asked, with Night Light looking at them expectantly.

The two looked back at each other for a minute, before realizing that Velvet was right. They then sighed in defeat.

“Fine,” Firelight grumbled

“Alright,” Stellar muttered.

“Good, now shake hands,” Velvet replied with a motherly smile, causing both parents to look at her incredulously.

“You can’t be serious!!” Firelight said with annoyance.

“We’re not children, Velvet,” Stellar replied flatly.

“And not too long ago I happened to see you two acting like babies over a petty argument about my son’s love life, so shake hands,” She growled, glaring right into their eyes, which made them shudder in fear, as they knew what the woman was capable of. They then turned to each other and slowly shook their hands, making the now glaring woman smile at them.

“Good, now you two kiss.” Both of their eyes got extremely big and they turned to Velvet in shock.

“WHAT?!” Both shouted in surprise.

“I’m just kidding,” Velvet laughed. “You should see the looks on your faces right now!” Velvet kept laughing as they glared at her unamused.

“Real funny Velvet.”

“I do mean it though, you both owe your daughters an apology,” She repeated with a stern glare. “A big one.” They both sighed in response, knowing she was right and that they just had to stomach each other at least until they got it over with. It was the least they could do for their girls.

“We’ll let them be alone for now, so let’s just let them have their night.”

“Good,” Velvet said as her mood brightened. “Now what’s the latest gossip in the restoration bureau?”

-Dusk’s Room-

Starlight was fuming as she redid some of the buttons on her blouse. Some of them were pretty much gone and so was the rest of the garment after what her father Firelight did to it. Sunstone wasn’t far behind as she was sitting away from the group with what her mother did still fresh in her mind. Everyone was sitting on a large mat in his room with Dusk’s bed behind his back.

“I can’t believe that he would even do that,” Starlight grumbled, still covering her chest in embarrassment as she looked down.

“That makes two of us,” Dusk replied.

“No offense, but your parents are absolutely insane,” Moondancer replied with a deadpan look on her face.

“Not offended whatsoever,” Starlight said with a shake of her head, still rather irritated.

“You could say it a million times and even I wouldn’t be offended,” Sunstone added, slumping her head on Dusk’s mattress. A light bark was then heard by the group and they turned to see a small purple dog run up to them and jump right into Dusk’s lap, before it began licking at his face.

“Hey Barb,” Dusk replied with a smile as he looked at his dog. She barked a couple times in response before she nuzzled against him. “How are you girl? You miss me huh?” He said, rubbing her head while feeling her tail wagging against his leg.

“Hi Barb!” Moondancer said excitedly, while the pup licked at Moondancer’s hand when she reached out to scratch the canine’s butt.

“So how long have you had her Dusk? we haven’t seen her around often,” Starlight wondered with curiosity as she looked at the dog.

“Oh about 3 months or so, but she’s been a great addition to the family. Mom absolutely adores her while Dad always enjoys bringing her out to the park for a walk. She’s also been a helpful assistant in my studies too,” Dusk replied with a large smile. The pup then curled up into a ball and fell asleep in his lap.

“Awww she’s so cute when she sleeps,” Sunstone cooed, looking at the sleeping puppy with a large smile. “Well, I guess we can forget about our embarrassing parents for now,” She continued as she reached out and gently scratched the dog’s head.

“Right now I just want to think about how this is our final day before we’re shipped off to college to start our own lives,” Starlight replied with a dull tone. “Also, you can say that they’re embarrassing over a thousand times and I still wouldn’t be offended by it.”

“We aren’t offended, we’re just embarrassed beyond belief!” Dusk replied, feeling his cheeks flush a little at the memory of the girls being felt up by both parents in front of him. “Is everything a competition between those two??”

“When it comes to those two and us, yes, everything is a competition,” Starlight groaned, cupping her face and falling backwards on Moondancer’s bed.

“I don’t know what is up with those two, but they act more like a married couple rather than a couple of adults that hate each other,” Sunstone replied.

“Let’s not focus on your crazy moms right now.” Dusk said to himself as he used his magic to pull out a few pamphlets from his nearby bag. “I’d rather talk about the colleges we’re planning on going to.”

“I was thinking about going to Crystal Prep Academy.” Starlight said looking over the pamphlets

“No fair! That’s where I want to go,” Sunset replied with a mocking pout.

“I was thinking about trying Hoofington Educational,” Moondancer said, looking over to Starlight as she spoke.

“I already know where I’m going,” Dusk replied as he pulled out a pamphlet. “Canterlot State University. I heard that I got a scholarship from there.”

“You only want to go because Princess Celestia runs the school,” Starlight said teasingly to Dusk, causing him to blush hard.

“I do not!” Dusk replied in a flustered tone. “I just respect her work, that's all.”

“More like absolutely worship her because you lllooooooovvvee her!!” Sunstone teased, making him blush even harder.

“That’s not true!” He exclaimed in embarrassment.

“Aw we were just messing with you Dusk,” Starlight replied as she threw a pillow at his head, the object hitting him directly in the face. “But it still means that we’re all taking different paths .”

“Yeah, it does,” Moondancer said with a sad sigh while looking at all of her friends. Looking back at the pamphlets, they all had different career paths and different lives planned. “Sunstone and Starlight would be together, but they would still be far apart from each other.”

“We all need something to remember each other by, you know, so we don’t forget what we have together,” Dusk said while looking up at the girls with the pamphlet in his hand. He then walked over to his closet and pulled out a mysterious box that was a worn down shoe box. It was tattered and plastered with stickers, leaving maybe an inch of the box itself uncovered.

“How are we gonna remember each other with a box?” Sunstone asked in confusion as she stared at it.

“It’s what’s inside of the box that’ll help us,” Dusk replied with a smirk as he sat it down in front of the group.

“What do you have?” Starlight asked, looking down at the box with a curious eye. Dusk then removed the lid covering the box, revealing a special bracelet with several charms on it. The charms glinted in the light in a rainbow of different colors that separated into multiple triangles.

“This is how we’ll remember each other,” Dusk replied. “This shows the signs of our friendship, and that we will always be together,” Dusk said while smiling at the girls, who stared at the glowing charms on the bracelet.

“Wow, it’s so beautiful…” Starlight said in awe, entranced by the glowing colors.

“Did you have this custom made?” Sunstone asked.

“I did. I had them made at the beginning of our senior year,” Dusk replied with a slight blush and looked to the side to avoid looking into their eyes.

Dusk reached into the torn up shoe box and pulled out the charm bracelet, setting the shoe box on the floor before he held the jewelry up. He pulled off one of the charms and handed it to Starlight before pulling off the other two and handing them to Sunstone and Moondancer. Embedded into each charm were engraved cutie marks that were almost shining on their own accord.

The girls gasp with awe as they were given their respective piece of the charms, looking down at them and smiling with glee. Moondancer walked up to Dusk and wrapped her arms around him tightly, pulling him into a close warm hug.

“Thank you so much Dusk! You're the bestest friend a girl could ever have,” Moondancer said, squeezing him a bit harder as she spoke. Starlight and Sunstone walked up to Dusk's left and right side and wrapped their arms around his neck before pulling him down to their level, their shorter frames dragging Dusk down, with the three of them holding him tightly in their embrace.

After the tender group hug and a few more hours of talking and messing around, the girls left his room to go home, leaving Dusk and Moondancer sitting on his bed as he was holding his piece of the bracelet, Moondancer’s cutie mark spinning in his fingers as his mind raced about the coming year.

“It’s gonna be a tough road ahead,” Dusk said quietly to himself. Moondancer then bumped his shoulder with hers, shaking him out of his trance.

“Huh?? Oh, sorry, I spaced out there,” Dusk added as he shook his head.

“I just wanted to say...thank you,” She replied with a warm smile before she walked back to her bed and laid down. Dusk then looked at the TV remote near him and decided to turn on the TV while enjoying their meal.

Meanwhile Starlight, and Sunstone were walking with each other down the stairs ready to head home.

“Hey Sunstone, you hear that?”

“Hear what?”

“Exactly!! It’s completely silent,” Starlight said with an intrigued look on her face. Both girls hurried down the stairs, surprised at this discovery. It meant that their rather eccentric parents were not fighting with each other anymore! And that was pretty much an impossibility.

When they reached the bottom of the stairs, they saw their two parents sitting at either ends of the table, munching on pieces of food while looking down and not at each other. Velvet and Night Light just sat away from the two, waiting on the girls to show up, and their heads turned to the girls upon hearing their footsteps.

“Dad?” Starlight said with a raised eyebrow as she looked at her old man.

In response, Firelight looked up from his food with a bored look that was veering towards passing out. Stellar Flare looked up at Sunstone expectantly upon hearing their footsteps.

“Are you ready to go home?” she asked while starting to stand up, having already finished her food.

“You both seem awfully friendly towards one another,” Starlight said with confusion, Sunstone feeling the same way

“Yeah this is a first, even for me,” Sunstone said in agreement. “You normally wouldn’t go one day without having a screaming match with each other.”

At that, Firelight let out a little laugh. “HA!! The only reason I’m being nice right now is because of Velvet,” he said while waving his hand in the direction he’d last seen Velvet walk off in.

“You should at least be nice to each other for your daughter’s sake,” Velvet remarked while walking back into the dining room with her arms crossed. She was smiling warmly but the girls could see that she had that pissed look on her face when she turned towards Firelight and Stellar Flare. Her smile beamed like the sun on a warm summer day, but the aura around her was like staring into the pit of Death itself.

“You’re not trying to start anything now are you?” She said in a calm tone that sent shivers down everyone’s spines. Stellar and Firelight could see that things were different as they could feel her anger radiating from her.

“N-no...of course not,” Stellar said nervously, pulling on the collar of her turtleneck sweater. “We’re at least trying to get along.”

“Y-Yes we’re at least trying,” Firelight stuttered, letting out a nervous chuckle while wiping away a bead of sweat from his forehead.

“Good,” Velvet said warmly.

“I think it’s time to go home,” Stellar replied as she finished standing up and picked up her plate to take to the sink. “It’s getting late after all.”

“Yeah, I’m pretty tired after today,” Sunstone said, walking to the door to put on her shoes and wait for Stellar.

“Dad we should go too,” Starlight added with a nod, walking to the door.

“Hold on kiddo!” Firelight said while quickly standing up from his seat. “First things first, I am very sorry for the way I acted earlier. I stepped out of line with the shirt thing.”

“Ya think??!” Starlight said with a deadpan look and tone. “You owe me a new school shirt after that and some other things!!”

“And Sunstone,” Stellar said as she walked out of the kitchen. “I’m also sorry for the upskirting earlier.”

“Normally I would expect from some asshole of a guy to try that, not my own mother,” Sunstone replied harshly while crossing her arms, looking away from her mother as she did so.

“Anyways,” Starlight said as she turned to Velvet. “Thank you for the meal earlier. It was amazing!!”

“Can we have some of your spread to go?” Sunstone asked, still looking at the table full of leftovers.

“No problem Starlight,” Velvet said, her previous evilYōkai-like appearance gone. “And Sunstone, I have some take out containers for you and the family in the kitchen.”

“Awesome!” Sunstone exclaimed as she walked over to grab the containers. Starlight walked over with her friend for some of the food as well, leaving Velvet with Stellar Flare and Firelight. Velvet watched them leave before her demeanor became angry once more as she turned to their single parents.

“Remember what we talked about you two, unless you want to see what I’m really capable of,” Velvet remarked in a dark tone as her horn started to glow. Both Stellar and Firelight had fear plastered on their faces as they stared at the dark glare that Velvet was sending at them. Not wasting anymore time, they hurriedly put their shoes on and gathered their belongings as they tried to get out the door as fast as possible while still being polite. Starlight and Sunstone soon joined them with food boxes and noticed the fear on their faces.

“You both okay?” Starlight asked in confusion, arching an eyebrow as she looked at them.

“Oh it’s nothing girls! just rather hurry and get home is all,” Stellar Flare replied, before turning back to Velvet. “Thank you for the dinner Velvet, it was quite lovely.”

“I agree as well,” Firelight responded with a nod. “It was nice of you to have us over.”

Upon hearing that, Starlight turned to Sunstone with a dull look on her face as she put the pieces together.

“I think Velvet did something that may have scared our parents to death,” Starlight whispered and Sunstone agreed with a silent nod. The four individuals soon left and made their way to their respectful houses down the street. Velvet smiled at the girls, giving a friendly wave goodbye before closing the door behind them and turned back to her husband with a sigh.

“I swear, this is just getting old between those two,” Velvet said as she joined her husband, who was still sitting down and reading his newspaper.

“Getting old with you?” Night Light asked with an arched eyebrow.

“Sometimes I wish they would just fuck each other since they’re always up each others asses all the time.” Velvet said, shaking her head as she sat down.

“They might one day, if they get drunk enough,” Night Light followed up with a loud laugh.

“I might just get them drunk enough one day,” Velvet replied, grinning widely at the idea. “Hopefully I can figure out how to keep those two from fighting with each other all the time.”

“Our kids will at least have time to themselves for the summer before they go to college,” Night Light replied. “They at least deserve their space honey.”

“I know. It’s just…”

“You want to have grandkids to spoil one day, but you feel those two constantly make it worse?” Night Light finished, making Velvet turn her head to him.

“I see the way you look at Dusk as he’s growing up, knowing the inevitable that he and Moondancer will soon leave the nest and it will be just the two of us. It upsets you right?” Nightlight told his wife, taking her hands into his. “Like how you were when our daughter Gleaming Shield moved out two years ago?”

“That obvious huh?” Velvet replied, slumping into her chair with a sigh. “I can’t help but worry that Dusk and Moondancer may not need me anymore after they walk out of this home and into the world.”

“Look honey, they’re strong kids, both of them. I’m sure that they can look after themselves just fine.” Night Light assured. “Honestly honey, you act like they might do something crazy.”

“Well call it a mother’s intuition.” Velvet replied. “I at least want to be sure that our kids are safe and all.”

“You do know if you keep babying him, you’ll only push him away right?” Night Light pointed out, making Velvet blush in response.

“I know dear, it’s just that he’s our son and Moondancer is our daughter too regardless if she was adopted. I just want them to be happy,” She sighed. “The same with Gleaming.”

“Then we shouldn’t butt in their lives anymore, and let them try to live theirs like they should on their own.”

Velvet exhaled, nodding in agreement. “You’re right, Night Light. I’ll just need to let them all go. It’s...it’s just not easy for me,” She sniffled. She then felt a pair of arms wrap around her in a comforting hug and she smiled, welcoming her husband’s warm embrace. “Thanks honey I needed that.”

The pair continued to sit closely, hugging each other for several minutes before they separated, smiling at each other.

“Why don’t we clean up the kitchen and hit the hay?” Night Light suggested. “We’ll at least have leftovers in the morning for everyone.”

“Alright,” Velvet said with a nod. They then got up from the couch and walked back to the kitchen to put away the leftover dinner, heading to bed once they were done.
