Gohan's Second Chance
Chapter 4: Gohan's Next Day (The Ticket Master) (Edited)
Previous Chapter Next ChapterIt was a new day, and Gohan had some things to do.
Gohan slept inside Fluttershy's cottage. She thought Gohan was an animal, after all.
He still had the torn up Saiyan armor on...
But his boots were off.
So his feet were covered in the spandex.
Nonetheless, he managed to sleep well.
Waking up, he noticed that Fluttershy was up in the other room.
He pushed the green blanket off himself and got out of bed.
He quickly got his boots on and walked into the living room.
Fluttershy was taking care of the animals' breakfasts.
She just finished filling the bird feed.
"There you are." She said as the birds started eating up.
"Hello." Gohan said.
Fluttershy turned around.
"Oh! Good morning." She said.
"Do you need any help?" Gohan asked.
"If you'd like to, that'd be nice." Fluttershy said.
Gohan was kind enough to help Fluttershy feed the other animals.
Ranging from the mice, the other birds and Harry the Bear.
With Harry...
Outside...
"C-Calm down!" Gohan said, holding a basket of berries.
He dodged numerous swipes from Harry.
"I have berries!" He said, holding out a handful of berries.
Harry roared and tried clawing them from Gohan's hand.
"Harry!" Fluttershy scolded.
Well, that got him to stop.
"Gohan was just trying to feed you, and you treat him like that?" Fluttershy asked.
Harry looked sad and turned to Gohan.
"Now, say that you're sorry." Fluttershy said.
Harry made out noises that sounded like a sorry.
"That's okay!" Gohan said, holding out the basket to Harry.
***
Right outside the door of Fluttershy's cottage...
"Thank you very much." Fluttershy said.
"Your welcome. I need to get this patched up, so I'll leave." Gohan said, patting his armor.
"Hurry back." Fluttershy said.
"Oh, and I'll try and make this 'keeping me home' thing temporary, alright?" Gohan asked.
"If that's what you would like to do..." Fluttershy said.
"Okay, thanks! Bye!" Gohan said before flying into town.
Fluttershy waved as he flew away.
But she was left to wonder...
"How is Gohan flying in the first place?" She asked herself.
Gohan was soaring the skies.
Free from burden.
But, he had a small thought.
'Should I still train?' He thought.
Gohan stopped moving, and floated in the air.
"Dad?" He called.
After a few moments, his father answered.
"Yes, Gohan?" Goku asked.
"Should I... Continue to train?" Gohan asked.
"That's up to you. If I were you, I would, but I know you don't like to fight. I'd do it because it seems like you would run into stuff like that Nightmare Moon." Goku said.
"Okay dad, thanks." Gohan said.
"Anytime, son!" Goku said.
"Hey!" Rainbow Dash yelled.
Gohan turned around to see Rainbow Dash closing in.
"LOOK OUT!" She yelled.
Gohan moved out of the way in an instant.
Rainbow Dash slowed down as much as she could.
"Sorry about that." She said.
"I-It's okay, Rainbow Dash." Gohan said.
"I should tell you that some clouds are going to be placed around here. You should probably move." Rainbow Dash said.
"Oh? Excuse me, I'll leave now." Gohan said.
"See ya!" Rainbow Dash said, flying off.
Gohan flew into Ponyville. He was going to Rarity's Boutique.
He knocked on the door ever so slightly, so he wouldn't accidentally break it.
"Come in! We are open!" Rarity said.
Gohan opened the door. "Hello?" He asked.
"Oh, Gohan, darling. It's you! We should get you something to wear." Rarity said. "Follow me, we must take a few measurements, and you can describe to me what you desire to wear." She said as she trotted away.
Gohan followed.
Rarity used her magic to get her tape measure.
"Stand on this, and hold still." Rarity said.
Gohan complied.
Rarity was taking all kinds of measurements based on what he was wearing.
After a while, Rarity finished.
"Okay darling, describe to me what you desire to wear." Rarity said.
"Hm... Oh, I know! Can you get me a piece a paper, and a pencil?" Gohan asked.
"Sure thing, here you go." Rarity said, using her magic to levitate a paper, a pencil and a small table.
"That's so cool! What is that?" Gohan asked.
"It's magic. Unicorns possess magic for levitation and other spells. Although I only use it for levitation, some unicorns practice many spells for combat or safety." Rarity said.
"Wow... Magic is interesting." Gohan said.
"Yes, anyhow! Please draw what you desire." Rarity said.
Gohan quickly drew his father's gi. He went into great detail, he showed the small wrinkles, he drew the weighted, blue shirt behind and without the orange gi, weighted boots, wristbands, and the blue belt.
Gohan finished, and handed his paper to Rarity.
"My, my. You are quite the artist! What is this, though?" Rarity asked.
"It's my father's gi. I went into a little detail... He has weighted clothes with the blue clothes." Gohan said.
"Nopony has EVER asked me to create such a heavy piece of clothing. Are you sure about this? They are very heavy." Rarity asked.
"If my dad could do it at my age, so can I." Gohan said.
"Your father sounds incredibly strong. Do you mind listing some of his feats while I create your clothing?" Rarity asked, already working on Gohan's clothes.
"Where do I start... He's really powerful. I was told he sent a rabbit to the moon when he was really small!" Gohan said.
"Really? That sounds rather painful for the rabbit." Rarity said.
"He was a mob boss or something, so don't worry. He's also won the 23rd World Martial Arts tournament..." Gohan said.
"That sounds impressive." Rarity said.
"He's defeated so many people! Aliens who threatened to destroy our home, and even tyrants such as Frieza!" Gohan said.
"Did you say Frieza?" Rarity asked. "That sounds vaguely familiar." She said.
"Yes. He defeated him, by turning into the legendary Super Saiyan!" Gohan said.
"What is that?" Rarity asked.
"A Super Saiyan is an ascended Saiyan. I can do it too! I actually did it against that... I believe it was Nightmare Moon?" Gohan said.
"Yes.. Oh, was that your mane changing color?" Rarity asked.
"Yeah, it was that too." Gohan said.
"Your father sounds quite impressive. What else has he done?" Rarity asked.
"Well... He can destroy a planet if he ever wanted to, but he's too nice to do something awful like that. He can move like it's nothing in 100x normal gravity... Uh.." Gohan said.
"O-Oh my! That's insane! 100 times normal gravity!?" Rarity asked, surprised.
"Oh yes, and he can do much more than that. He can lift so many tons- He can bench press a planet!" Gohan said.
Rarity nearly fell over at that accomplishment. "A-An entire planet!?" She asked.
"Yeah..." Gohan said.
"I'm sure your father has passed on some of his amazing strengths on to you, darling." Rarity said.
"I would agree! I can do everything he can at this point!" Gohan boasted. "But there's only one thing that I don't have." He said.
"What would that be, darling?" Rarity asked.
"I... I don't really like to fight, unlike him. Saiyans have this ceaseless lust for battle, but I'm sort of half and half on it." Gohan said.
"Wow. That sounds rather okay, Gohan. Violence isn't a great pastime." Rarity said.
"Yeah... But sometimes, like against Nightmare Moon, I just both needed to and wanted to fight. It's just in my blood." Gohan said.
"Well, that could be good as well. We may encounter weird things. Like when Rainbow Dash did going through that Street Fighter phase." Rarity said, remembering when Rainbow Dash dressed as Ryu from Street Fighter and pretended to do random stuff.
***
"Hadouken!" Rainbow Dash yelled, throwing a cloud at Fluttershy.
"Oh no!" Fluttershy said, pretending to fall down. "I lose!" She said.
"Yes! I win!" Rainbow Dash said.
"I wanna be Ryu next time..." Fluttershy said.
"No! You can be Ken!" Rainbow Dash said.
"Aw..." Fluttershy said.
***
"S-She was a street fighter?" Gohan asked.
"No, I believe it was some childish video game." Rarity said.
"Oh, alright." Gohan said.
"I just finished!" Rarity said, using her magic to reveal an orange gi that looked exactly like his father's.
But she put it in Gohan's arms quickly, as it was very heavy.
"Wow. Thank you so much, Rarity!" Gohan said.
"You are very welcome, dear. Try them on!" Rarity said.
"Okay!... Do you have a booth I could try these on in?" Gohan asked.
"Oh!... Uh, sure. It is right over there." Rarity said, pointing a hoof at a booth. She only had it for ponies who weren't okay with wearing nothing in public.
Gohan went in, and came out of the booth soon after.
It was a perfect fit!
"Wow, thanks again, Rarity!" Gohan said.
"It was my pleasure. Now run along, I have more customers." Rarity said.
Gohan waved goodbye, and dumped his Saiyan armor in the trash. He then left the boutique.
"Where to today... Ah yes. The library!" Gohan said.
Gohan walked around Ponyville, heading for the library.
He wasn't completely accepted by the denizens of Ponyville. Some ponies haven't accepted him yet.
"Weirdo!" One pony yelled.
Gohan shrugged the comment off.
For some reason, it instantly rained.
Gohan looked up. "What happened?" He asked.
'It was just sunny a moment ago... The heck?' He thought.
Gohan flew up over the clouds to see who the culprit was.
He looked around to see Rainbow Dash.
"Hey! Why are you making it rain!?" Gohan asked.
Rainbow Dash looked over to see Gohan. "To prevent YOU or any pony else from getting that ticket!" She said.
"Uh... What ticket?" Gohan asked.
"Uh, to the Grand Galloping Gala! The most awesome place for the Wonderbolts?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Uh... Not interested?... I don't even know what the Grand Galloping Gala is. Can you make it not rain anymore or something? Or is it a pattern?" Gohan asked.
"How don't you-... Whatever, yeah it's a pattern." Rainbow Dash said.
"Oh, and you look cool in that thing, I guess." She added.
"Oh, thanks! I just got it from Rarity." Gohan said.
"Yeah, okay. See you around, Gohan." Rainbow Dash said before flying off.
Gohan waved. He then flew over the clouds, seeing how astonishing the scenery was.
He could see how the pegasi could just sit on clouds.
'I wonder...' Gohan thought.
He stopped flying to let himself fall on a cloud, but he fell right through the cloud since he wasn't a pegasus.
"Bad idea, bad idea!" He said.
Gohan stopped before he smashed into the ground.
"That... Was close." He said.
He looked up to the sky. "I guess I can't sit on a cloud." He said to himself.
"You sure can't!" Pinkie Pie said, hopping around.
Gohan stood on the ground again. "Hey, Pinkie. What's going on?" He asked.
"Oh, Twilight has a ticket to the Grand Galloping Gala plus one! Everypony's trying to get Twilight to give that plus one ticket!" Pinkie Pie said.
"Uh... Alright... I still don't know what this Gala is..." Gohan said.
Pinkie Pie gasped. "YOU don't know the Grand Galloping Gala!? Let me show you!" Pinkie Pie said.
Then, the two were somehow in some random occurance.
"H-How did we get here?" Gohan asked.
The background was full of flying giant confetti and balloons.
Pinkie Pie sang a long song about how partying at the Grand Galloping Gala would be fun.
It was filled with rainbows and dancing and whatnot.
Then, they appeared back in Ponyville, and at Sugarcube Corner.
"Uh... How did we-" "Don't ask, silly! Auntie Pinkie has her tricks!" Pinkie Pie interrupted.
"We're not related, though..." Gohan said.
"Okay, I'm your ADOPTED Auntie Pinkie, how's that?" Pinkie Pie asked.
"Uh... Okay... Can I eat something?" Gohan asked.
"Oh sure! Here's 20 cupcakes, on the house!" Pinkie Pie said.
"O-On the house!? Really?" Gohan asked.
"Sure! Here!" Pinkie Pie said, pulling out a tray of twenty cupcakes out of nowhere.
"Oh, yum! They're extra large too! This will be great for one of twenty courses of a meal!" Gohan joked.
"Eat up!" Pinkie Pie said before vanishing.
Gohan was left in an empty store with a bunch of cupcakes pulled out of nowhere.
He ate them all in an instant, and remained hungry. "Oh well, I should wait until I eat a lot." He said to himself.
Gohan left the store. It was already starting to become nighttime.
'I should head to the library before I forget.' He thought to himself.
Gohan walked over to Twilight's treehouse, but saw some oddities while going over.
For some reason, there were groups of ponies trying to find something.
He shrugged it off as nothing, and went to Twilight's treehouse.
He knocked on the door.
No answer.
"She mustn't be home." Gohan said to himself. He didn't sense anything in there.
But, Twilight had just teleported there. Gohan sensed it. So he knocked again.
"No! Go away!" Spike yelled.
"I just want to see the library!" Gohan said.
"Spike, maybe let Gohan in?" Twilight asked.
The door opened. "Hurry!" Spike said.
Gohan was in very quickly.
"What's the rush?" Gohan asked.
"Everypony somehow found out I have an extra ticket to the Grand Galloping Gala and everypony trying to- Wait, you want that ticket too, don't you!?" Twilight asked.
"I... I don't really have in interest in that... I came to check out your books..." Gohan said.
"O-Oh... Pardon me. Spike, lock the doors and windows!" Twilight said.
Spike and Twilight closed every window, and turned every light off.
But, Gohan could sense 5 other ponies.
"Who's there!?" Gohan asked, pointing at the window.
The lights flashed on again. The rest of the Mane 6 were there at Twilight's window.
"Man, when she said everyone really wanted that ticket, she meant it literally." Gohan said.
Twilight screamed, bringing the attention over to her.
It also made the five come back to their senses.
"I can't decide, you're all too important to me and doing favors and giving me gifts isn't helping at all! I want to make each one of you happy, and I just can't! UUUUGGGGHHH!" She groaned.
"Are you okay?" Gohan asked.
"Try deep breathing, it gets rid of some stress." He said.
Her friends started to feel bad, and climbed down from the window.
"Twilight, I didn't mean to put so much pressure on you. You can give the ticket to somepony else, I wouldn't care at all." Applejack said.
"Me too... I feel so awful that I made you feel so awful about it." Fluttershy said.
"Me too! It's no fun to upset your friends!" Pinkie Pie said.
"Twilight, it was not fair of me to do such nice things for my own personal gain. Please forgive me." Rarity said.
"Yes! I got the ticket!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed.
Everyone looked at Rainbow Dash as she was boasting about getting the ticket.
Gohan was unamused. He even had the face to show how unamused he was.
Rainbow Dash realized what she was doing. "Uh... I haven't been practicing for the Wonderbolts for a while. I don't want to go yet, I guess." She said.
Then, everyone except for Twilight and Spike stared at Gohan.
"Uh... Why are you guys staring at me?" Gohan asked.
"Don't you have something to say?" Rarity asked.
"Uh... I'm sorry for asking to see if you had any interesting books while you were going through this time of grief?" Gohan asked.
"The ticket, you nerd!" Rainbow Dash said.
"Oh, Rainbow Dash, Gohan never asked me for the ticket." Twilight said.
"What!?" Five of the Mane 6 asked.
"Oh my, I apologize Gohan." Rarity said.
"I-It's nothing, really..." Gohan said.
Then Twilight had Spike write a letter to Celestia about a lesson she learned in friendship.
Twilight was returning her tickets to Celestia.
"Twilight, you don't have to do that!" Applejack said.
"Nope! I already made up my mind." Twilight said.
Spike sent the letter to Celestia with a quick breath of fire.
"I couldn't go there unless my best friends joined me!" Twilight said.
The Mane 6 all came into a group hug.
Gohan just stood there, surprised. 'This is just... Weird.' He thought.
Spike walked over to Gohan, who had a confused expression on his face.
"I'm with you, thi-" Spike said before something tried to make him burp.
"Why that's just like a boy, Spike. You see something a little girly, and you're all ready to barf!" Applejack said.
"D-Does that exclude me, somehow?" Gohan asked.
"Yeah, you- Wait, are you a boy or a girl?" Applejack asked.
"A boy." Gohan said.
"Well you sound girly!" Rainbow Dash said.
"That's not very nice, Rainbow Dash." Fluttershy said.
"But its true!" Rainbow Dash said.
Then, after long, painful moments of trying to burp, Spike burped out a letter.
"Whoa, Nellie!" Applejack said.
"A letter from the princess!" Twilight said.
Spike read out the letter, and pulled out 7 tickets to the Grand Galloping Gala.
"Now we can all go!" Twilight said.
"Alright, you can go. Can I read some books while your at it?" Gohan asked.
"No, you're coming too, Gohan!" Twilight said.
"B-But... Can I just give my ticket to him?" Gohan asked, pointing at Spike.
"Nah, I don't really want to go." Spike lied.
Gohan groaned. "I guess I'll take the ticket..." He said.
"Alright!" Twilight said.
Then, her stomach rumbled.
"Let us, treat you to dinner Twilight." Rarity said, trying to make up for her mistake.
"OOH! I'll get the cupcakes!" Pinkie Pie said.
The Mane 6 began to walk out of the Treehouse.
"You two are coming to eat with us!" Rarity said, pointing a hoof at Gohan and Spike.
"Well, I am hungry. I should warn you that... My appetite is really big." Gohan said.
"Don't worry. Nopony eats more than Pinkie Pie." Rarity said.
"Oh yeah? I challenge that!" Gohan said, running after the Mane 6.
Then, Spike burped up another ticket to the Gala.
He followed too.
***Hours Later***
Gohan was already at his 90th plate. He beat Pinkie Pie 65 plates ago.
Spike and the Mane 6 looked in shock as Gohan was eating nonstop.
Well, Pinkie was cheering him on.
"Go! Go! Go! Faster! This is amazing!" She said with glee.
"Uh... Gohan?" Applejack asked.
Gohan stopped eating for a moment. "Yaffsh?" He asked with his mouth full.
"Gohan, don't talk with your mouth full! That's rude!" Rarity scolded.
Gohan swallowed the spaghetti he was eating, finishing his 90th plate.
"Sorry, what is it?" Gohan asked, wiping his mouth with a napkin.
"Well, firstly I'd expect an adult such as yourself would have table manners already!" Rarity said.
"A-Adult?" Gohan asked. "I'm eleven, silly!" He added.
"WHAT!?" The Mane 6 asked.
"Oh no, I can't let you leave the cottage on your own until you're old enough!" Fluttershy said.
"Uh... Fluttershy, I don't know how he's gonna fare that way." Rainbow Dash said.
"Don't worry, I'll take good care of him." Fluttershy said.
"Yeah, but... How are you going to afford to feed him!?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Oh... I don't know, I'll figure it out." Fluttershy said.
"He can come down to the farm for an apple or two anytime." Applejack said.
"Say you can eat clouds, too, Gohan." Goku said from Other World.
"I can eat clouds, too, I guess." Gohan said.
Spike and the Mane Six burst with laughter.
"Thanks dad." Gohan whispered.
"No problem, son!" Goku said.
