I gulped before knocking on the door with Moonspirit behind me. The door creaked open and I walked in. Ponies bowed to me, either from fear or respect. Used to the factory, I walked to the main pony's office. I was a little shocked to see Lightning Dust there, looking at a few papers. Since when was she the big boss of the weather factory? It took me a few years to get that far in the position.

Lightning saw me and bowed her head in respect, "Hi Princess Rainbow. I wanted to talk to you about a few things. First, I know that most princesses want weather reports. I'm going to send them in weekly from now. Here is this week's weather. Most ponies will love it." I looked at the weather report which showed that it was going to be sunny every single day, besides one where it was going to be partly cloudy.

I asked, "When is it going to rain?"

"Not for a long time since everypony loves the sun, Princess." I didn't bother to ask her to stop calling me Princess, although we knew one another for some time.

I replied, "What about the farm ponies?"

"What about them, Princess?"

"Their crops need rain. Don't you ever want to eat anything?"

She thought for a moment before replying, "Well, everypony wants to eat. Doesn't their water come from a well though or sprinklers? I don't see how that has anything to do with rain."

I replied, "Rain makes the water from the well to water them. You really need to know some things about farming." Then, I just realized that if this was how Lightning was managing things, then half of the apple trees must be dead already. If I don't water them, they're going to be completely dead.

I stood up, "I've got to go." I flew off, forgetting that Moondancer couldn't fly, in a desperate attempt to save the Apple farm. I bolted through an open window in the barn and panted. I saw Applejack and her family talking about something. I cleared my throat. They looked at me and bowed, all expect for Applejack.

Applejack smiled, "Thank Celestia you're here! We were talking about trying to use a balloon to talk to Lightning Dust. Of course, we can't walk on clouds so it might of been a little hard."

I sighed, "Lightning doesn't know the first thing about farming nor what it needs. I've been talking to her for some time before realizing that the farm would be in really bad shape by now. So, how much of the farm is left?" They exchanged looks with one another before Applejack beckoned me to follow her. I obliged immediately. I immediately saw that the trees were almost begging for water, which was something I had never seen before. Maybe it was because there were Earth Pony blood in me now. I flew up to the clouds to examine the whole entire orchard. I sighed in relief when I realized that only one-third of the tree population were dead. I expected worse.

I flew down, "Applejack, you do know that I had given you permission to walk on clouds, right?"

Applejack hoof palmed, "Ah forgot! Mighty sorry Rainbow."

"Nah, anypony could've forgotten. Except for the fact that's you can't exactly fly to the place either. Hmm... Let me try to do it anyways. I give my blessing for Applejack to fly." I looked at Applejack who close down her eyes and probably was imagining how to fly. She was also hopping around. Needless to say, I couldn't make ponies fly.

I sighed, "Applejack, I don't think that I could make anypony fly since you would need to have wings. Anyways, I'll water the trees for now." I fly upwards and gathered storm clouds to the unwatered apples trees. I hopped on all the clouds in a pattern and flew back down, not caring that I was getting wet.

Applejack, surprisingly, hugged me, "Thanks Rainbow. The farm would've died without ya here."

I blinked, "You're my best friend Applejack. I would've done this at any time." I looked at the cloud which were out of water. Then, I examined the trees and decided that they were watered enough.

Applejack nodded, "Well, do ya mind if you could find a way to let me talk to Lightning?"

I smirked, "Well... There is an easy way." I used my hooves to grab Applejack and I flew to the weather factory. I released my grip on her and she stared at the cloud, as if expecting to fall down. Thankfully, she didn't. Applejack walked into the factory and I turned around to see that Moondancer was there, still waiting.

Moondancer sighed, "Permission to speak freely?"

I rolled my eyes, "Always."

"It's time for your first appearance in Cloudsdale, your mane is wet, your hooves are dirty, and your not even dressed."

I looked at myself, "Well, it's time to get to Rarity's place then. Since you don't want to travel by cloud, I suppose that I'll just carry you there." Once again, I picked her up and flew to the boutique.

Rarity called out, "One second please!" I heard the sewing machine turn off.

The door opened, "Welcome to-Rainbow. You don't need to knock. What happened to you?"

I sighed, "Let's just say that I saved Applejack's farm and got a little muddy. Oh, and I'm having a public appearance in..."

Moondancer supplied, "Five minutes."

Rarity gasped, "Five minutes! Darling, we need to hurry." She dragged me into a shower and sprayed me with warm water. After a few second, she put shampoo into my mane and throughly washed it. Rarity blew it with a hair dryer before putting my hair in its usual style. Then, she put a dress that she probably had just made and threw it on me. I saw myself in the mirror and saw that it was similar to my Grand Galloping Gallop dress. Rarity used a tie or something to put my mane in just as Moondancer came in.

Moondancer stared, "Rarity, you have outdone yourself. Prin- I mean Rainbow, we need to go." I nodded before I grabbed Moondancer and flew away. She looked like she was about to scream but didn't. I set her on a cloud before looking around.

I asked, "So what exactly am I supposed to do?"

Moondancer sighed, "Your chariot is over there and ponies will fly you around the place."

I nodded, "Okay, I'll meet you back here?"

"Actually, I think somepony is making a party to celebration for you. I think it was the pink pony you blessed. Also, somepony else is also helping her." I flew to the chariot and waved at Moondancer. The chariot ponies finally flew over and bowed to me before taking off. I looked around Cloudsdale, not even bothering to make a smile. Then, I remembered that I probably should smile or the press would snap photos and do other things to my reputation. I sighed before forcing a smile and waving at them. The Pegasi cheered, flapping their wings around. Finally, we got to the destination of what seemed an eternity. If I flew by myself, I could've gotten there in a few minutes at most.

The Pegasi landed and I flew off. The doors opened and I saw that Pinkie had outdone herself. There were streamers everywhere and there was confetti. There was also a banner on the top as well as a VIP (very important pony) section where I chose which ponies could go in. In other words, it was perfect.

Pinkie blew her party cannon, "Let's get this party started!" She put a rocking DVD in the record player and blasted it at full volume. Ponies were trying to get to me and I quickly escaped to the VIP section.

I thought of what Twilight would say so I said, "One at a time please. Form a line so I could talk to you." The Pegasi pushed one another and tried to cut. I sighed before waiting.

The first pony was Blossomforth, "Princess Rainbow, I would like to still address the issue of-"

I interrupted, "Any issues will be discussed at the next town hall. Moondancer? Could you put a town hall meeting in my schedule that starts from 1 in the afternoon?"

Moondancer nodded, "Yes." She took out her notebook and wrote down something.

Blossomforth smiled, "Also, I would like to shake your hoof." There were voices of agreement behind her. I knew that this was going to take a long time, especially if everypony wanted to shake my hoof. I shook her hoof and she bowed before leaving. The next pony bowed and shook my hoof. After eight ponies, my hoof was already starting to hurt.

Moondancer called, "Rainbow, you need to go to the picnic!" I heard noises of complaints in front of me but I wasn't about to ditch my friends in the picnic.

So I did exactly what the other princesses would do, "I'm sorry everypony but I must go. I will come back as soon as I could. Also, this party will end at 4:30." I walked to the door, with all the ponies bowing besides Moondancer and Pinkie. Moondancer followed me out the door. Before she could even say anything, I grabbed her and went to the palace.

I sighed, "Moondancer, I think I'll be fine alone at the picnic. Make sure that the others are resting or patrolling or something. I need to bless a random room and change out of this dress." Moondancer nodded and trotted away. I went to the room next to mine that didn't have any door. I used some of my new magic and made sure that only I could enter or exit this room, unless I permit somepony else.

I said, "I bless this room with everflowing bits." Immediately, bits started to appear everywhere, except for the entrance where I came in of. The piles didn't touch the ceiling so I could easily reach them. I smiled before flying through the wall and into my room. I threw off my dress before going back to the bits room, which was what I was going to call it. I used my mouth to get 4 bits before putting it in a saddlebag. I took a few leftover cupcakes and put them in a box before putting that in my saddlebag also. I flew down to the picnic blanket, where all my friends were waiting.

Rarity looked up from her mirror, "Darling! You're here."

I nodded, "Why wouldn't I be?"

Twilight took a slice of apple, "Well, I figured that you might be a little busy on your first day of duties. I remember my first day."

Spike gulped down a gem, "Me too, Twilight had overpacked her schedule." Twilight covered Spike with one of her wings.

Applejack offered me cider, "Here, have some cider."

I took out my bits and gave them to Applejack, "Here are the bits for the last cider."

Applejack shook her head, "Shucks, Rainbow. Ah don't need any bits from you after ya saved my farm. Keep them." I nodded as I slipped them back into my saddlebag. I took the cupcakes out and set them on the blanket. Then, I put on my sunglasses and relaxed.

I said, "How is the farm anyways?"

"Ah spoke to Lightning about it but she refused to do anything. The trees are drying up again and Ah don't know what to do. Cider season is almost here and I don't know what the farm will do without enough apples, especially the large demand. It'll be like the two brothers again."

Twilight suggested, "We could help collect your apples."

I offered, "I'll water your trees again and talk to Lightning."

Fluttershy said, "I could ask some of my cute earthworms to help with the fertilizer."

Applejack sighed, "That would be great but there isn't a way to grow apples quicker. Also, there aren't enough trees thanks to the lack of rain. Even business has been slowing down in attempt to have enough cider."

Twilight said, "Then we will do our best to stack apples and help to get the season going for at least the first few days. In fact, let's go."

Pinkie looked at me, "You do know that leaving ponies hanging during your first party isn't that great, right?"

I stood up, "Saving the farm is more important. Besides, I'll just water the trees before popping in with a dress and shake a few more hooves. Then I have to judge something and meet with the mayor." I flew up to make a few storm clouds with magic and gathered them in the farm. I bounced on them until there wasn't any rain left in them. Then, I made it partly cloudy by kicking them. I flew back to my house and threw on my dress before going back to the party. There, I shook about the hooves of half of them whilst forcing a smile.

Moondancer interrupted a hoof shake, "I'm sorry Rainbow but it's time to judge a baking contest." I sighed before taking off with her on my back.

I landed on a cloud, "Am I in time for the contest?"

The manager bowed, "Yes Princess. This is the baking contest. Here is a sheet so you could manage which ones to chose." I grabbed the sheet with my mouth and nodded before holding it with my hoof. I took a feather with ink to write on. Then, I realized that it would be hard to eat with a feather in my mouth. That meant I had to levitate and start horn writing, which was something I had never done. It shouldn't be too hard... right? I took a deep breath before levitating the paper easily and making it follow along in front of me as I walked. I also levitated the quill and wrote my name on the top of the paper, making it messy but somehow legible. It was better than nothing.

I walked to the first place, "What do you have here?"

The pony stood up and bowed, "Princess, these are oreo cupcakes with mint sprinkles on them." I nodded before eating one and marking it on the paper. The cupcake just melted in my mouth and I loved them. The next pony's food wasn't any worse. I looked at what seemed as the never ending line of ponies and gulped, knowing that only a few would leave happily today. Then, I continued to eat the delicious food and the tastes began to mingle with one another. Strawberry, banana, apple, and so on. Finally, it was over and every single one of them did deserve a prize. The manager motioned me to stand on the stage and bowed when I flew there.

I cleared my throat, "All of your food is really delicious and awesome. Uhh.... The winners that are 10 percent cooler are... third place Blaze, second place is a young colt named Rumble, and first place is Misty Walker. Congratulations." I flew off the stage and gave the three ribbons before leaving. I decided to head back to my castle to do something. I carried Moondancer on my back as we went. She shuddered before hopping off and muttering. I looked at the clock that was in my castle, before seeing that there was a few hours before I had to fly to meet the mayor who wouldn't tell anypony their name. For now, I could get my flyers and personal army under my hoof. I knew that I already had three personal guards who were patrolling, but they were under Celestia's command, not mine.

I waved to Apple Watch, "Where's Spirit Runner and Fire Bright?"

Apple Watch replied, "Spirit is patrolling above, Fire is patrolling in the halls, and I'm here to make sure that nopony comes in without permission."

"Thanks." I flew into my castle, immediately finding a small office. I guess it was for unfortunate paperwork. The desk was facing the door with a window on the side. I began drawing a flyer for Dark Wings. Then, I remembered Spitfire had a stamp to make it become quicker. I finished making a large stamp before trying it on a card sized paper. It worked. The background had a black tone. There were masked figures there, each with a number. One through six. I had decided that there were going to be twelve numbers; six on duty with myself as the Captain and not as a number, with six as backup. I didn't need a backup but the others might. Then, I realized that I wasn't sure about who to send it to. Fluttershy was a definite no. Lightning was a no. Who else was there? Cloud Watcher wasn't going to be the best pony to do it either. I also knew that I would need regular Pegasi guards that aren't special to make up in numbers and to not rise suspicion. By Equestria, being a Princess was exhausting.

I thought, 'What should it be on anyways? I mean, what's the purpose of this secret army instead of a personal one? Maybe because I'll manage things differently or something? I'll probably just ask Celestia for regular guards since I know that Twilight got her small army from the her. How should I even send it? It's not like I have a personal dragon who could directly send letter to the princess. Also, a messenger would take too long. What about magic? Too bad that I don't know too much about that. I should write the letter first then borrow a few of Twilight's books for different stuff. I mean, she is always pushing me to read."

I used my mouth to write:
Dear Princess Celestia,

This is Rainbow. If it's possible, try to send a few guards over to protect my palace or whatever guards do. Well, see ya!

Your faithful... ... princess? Subject? Or whatever you feel like calling me,

Rainbow

I flew to Twilight's palace and went through my favorite window to get to the library, "Hi Twilight. Hey Starlight."

Starlight looked at me, "Hi Rainbow. Twilight and I were just studying a complex method and a spell that Starswirl found."

Twilight nodded, "Did you need something, Rainbow?"

I looked around, "Yeah, I do Twilight. Do you mind I found I borrow some books about magic?"

"You want a book!" Twilight's eyes practically glowed in happiness, "Of course you can borrow one. I would suggest a telekinesis book although you already did it. Hmm... Maybe a teleportation book? It could be quite useful."

I blinked, "I think I'll just go through the books and take whatever interests me."

"Sure. Now, Starlight, I think that the spell..." I zoned out the rest as I flew around, looking at the teleportation section. By the way I saw it, Spike's fire thing was actually a flashy teleportation spell over long distances. Maybe there was even a location spell for Celestia so it would appear in front of her. I did my best to levitate three books at me: two about teleportation and one about locating.

I waved my hoof, "Thanks again Twi!" I flew out the window, making sure that the books were in front of me the whole time. Just as I went to my room and set the books on my drawer, there was a knock on my door. I used my magic to open it slowly and gently. It took about ten or so seconds to open that door, which was kind of sad, but it was better than almost ripping the door off of its hinges.

Moondancer walked in, "You have around ten minutes to talk to the mayor."

I sighed, glancing at the books, "Okay. When I'm talking to the mayor, can you recruit a messenger to let me send messages to different ponies?"

"Yes, I can but you need somepony to go with you."

I pointed out, "Twilight goes everywhere without guards."

"It's just that you're a new princess."

"I'll be fine Moondancer."

"What about a dress?"

"Nah, I'm already radiating with awesomeness." Before Moondancer would pull a Twilight on me, I flew out the window, making sure to close it behind me. I finally arrived at the office of the mayor and I knocked.

A voice said, "Come in, Princess." The doors opened and I saw three ponies bowing to me. I guessed that the middle one was the mayor.

I flew to the seat, "Hi, what did you want to talk about?"

The mayor replied, "Princess, Ponyville is nominated for the tornado to make sure that there are enough clouds. We need somepony to make sure that everything is good. I know that you aren't going to participate anymore nor be able to direct, so do you have any preferences in who to select?"

I blinked, "What do you mean about the fact that I can't direct or be part of the tornado thingy?"

The pony next to him nervously said, "Well, Princess Rainbow, it's just not seen for ponies like you to do it. It's a Pegasi tradition and honor, not an Alicorn one."

I shook in anger, unable to contain it, "Are you saying that I'm not a Pegasi anymore? I have wings and I will use them to be in the tornado!"

The mayor cowered on the ground, "Princess, please... you must understand that."

"You know what?! I don't understand why I can't be in this."

"Princess... Forgive us."

"Are you saying that I'm not a Pegasus anymore? I've already been stripped from the Wonderbolts, from my destiny, and from many other things that you aren't aware on. Now, you're saying that I can't be part of a tradition of honor." They glanced at one another before looking at the floor.

I said, "I believe that our meeting here is over." I slammed the door open, blowing it off its hinges, and flew out.
