The ultimate surprise
Chapter 21: Draconic aid 2
Previous Chapter Next ChapterEmber yawned while licking her lips, siting up as she stretched. "Man I don't think I've ever had that good of a night's sleep." She said looking around. "Wait where's…"
Dillan sat on the edge of the island with his feet in the water, looking down to the new seafloor. Ember walked out of the capsule house, as she looked at him. "everything ok?"
Dillan turned to her and smiled softly. "Yeah, just enjoying the peace. It's been so hectic lately that just taking the time to relax is nice."
Ember glanced at the sea and sat next to him, she stared at the sea. "It's… beautiful."
"Wow, Princess Ember is calling something beautiful."
"I'm not a princess, and If you tell anyone I'll rip your eyes out." Ember said.
Dillan chuckled and held up his hands. "Ma'am yes ma'am."
Ember huffs and looks into the ocean once again, watching all the fish and sea life swimming around. "Welp, time to make breakfast." Dillan said while standing up and going inside. Ember watched him curiously before looking back again at the sea creatures.
"He's a strange creature, but he does have some charm." Ember thought to herself before following the human.
Deep within the now underwater mountain range a cave had been sealed off, within the waterless cave stood some of the enemies of Ben Tennyson, and now Dillan. Eon growled and slammed his fist on the wall of the cave, turning to the rest of the villains. "How can it be that a novice to these blasted powers is able to beat us! And a new creature all together!"
"Because he had help." Vilgax said, crossing his arms in annoyance. "If it hadn't been for that orange creature he would have been beaten!"
Animo snorted. "Not only that but that blasted creation of mine decided to turn goody goody and turn on me!" He said annoyed before smirking darkly. "Then again I do have another plan!"
"No." Eon said, stopping Animo from talking. "Ghostfreak is finally back and will be landing In the dragon lands soon with his 'secret weapon' we will allow him to attempt it's prowess."
Animo growled. "Whatever, I'm still going to experiment with my new weapon. One that I got from ghostfreak." Animo laughed darkly as he walked away.
Dillan set two plates of eggs and bacon with sausage on the table Infront of Ember who sniffed it with confusion on her face.
"It's food, don't worry it's like the spaghetti I made last night. Something from my world." Dillan smiled softly as he gathered some food on a plate and made some toast, giving it to Ember.
Ember looked at the food curiously but took a bite out of the bacon, her eyes widening before eating it quickly, causing DIllan to chuckle a little. “Man! That tastes amazing!” she said.
Dillan chuckles as he puts his eggs, sausage and Bacon on his toast and takes a bite out of it. After chewing and swallowing it he looks at her with a smile. "Try the sausage, it's just as good."
Ember nodded before she ate some of the sausage, smiling in delight as she quickly ate it like the bacon. “I’ve never tasted anything like this in my entire life!” she said, still smiling.
Dillan chuckles. "Yeah, I had to um… convince some pigs to… become my food." He said, rubbing his head.
“Oof, that must have been one bad and uncomfortable conversation.” Ember said.
Dillan blushes. "Well they couldn't talk, it's just the fact that cows and other animals can talk is… weird. It's normal for humans to kill cows and other animals for food, it's in our biology to eat meat but when they talk…" he said shuddering.
Dillan gets up and washes the dishes once the two finish their food, cracking his neck. "Alright, let's get going. So I can see how much territory you have left in the dragon lands."
Ember nodded, “Alright, and you’ll be surprised, or not, at how much territory we have.” she said,
Dillan nods, putting the house back in a capsule after they went outside taking off into the direction of the dragon lands.
Time Skip
Dillan looked at the mountains turned islands that made up what was left of the Dragon Lands, “As you can see, we still have plenty of territory thanks to the mountains.” Ember said.
Dillan nods slowly. "Alright, this section will be set for growing crops." He gestured to a bundle of five islands. "The rest we'll work on connecting and building homes and shelters for you all."
Ember nodded her head, “Thanks.” Ember said, “Things have been difficult around here since the flood. With no food dragons have gotten a little, well, crazy.”
"You mean more than usual?" Dillan asked playfully smiling at her, beginning to fly down to the island before pausing.
“Oh ha ha ha ha.” Ember said with a roll of her eyes. “Anyway, why’d you stop?”
"Something doesn't seem right, shouldn't there be dragons around?" He asked, looking around slowly.
Ember looked at him confused before she looked around as well, realizing what Dillan meant. “You’re right, I don’t see a dragon anywhere.” she said, still confused but was also a bit worried.
Dillan looked around, scanning the area as he noticed a cave. "They might be in that cave, I'll go check it out you wait here ok?"
“Why do I have to wait out here?” Ember asked, crossing her arms.
Dillan rubs the back of his head. "Well if you got hurt it wouldn't exactly be good."
“I can handle anything.” Ember said,
Dillan smiles. "I'm sure you can, alright then let's go." Ember nodded as the two flew towards the cave and landed at the entrance.
Dillan follows her and looks around, slowly walking into the dark cave as he uses his ultimatrix for small amounts of light as Ember stepped in something sticky. “Ew, what is this?” Ember asked as she pulled her foot out of it.
However her foot snapped back into the sticky mess as Dillan held up his ultimatrix to it to shed light on the mess. "it's… a giant spider web." He said, raising an eyebrow as he tried to help her out of the web.
“A giant spider web? But there’s no spider that big around here! Is there?” Ember said then asked before she was freed thanks to Dillans help.
Dillan hummed as he brought his ultimatrix closer to it. "Uncataloged DNA detected, source inceffitant. Please locate a larger source."
“What does that mean?” Ember asked,
"It means this web was made by an alien, an alien I can't transform into." Dillan said, looking in thought.
“Wait, so an alien came here? But why would it stop in the dragon lands? It would be fried by other dragons in seconds.” Ember said, then looked at the web, “Unless it managed to hide somewhere.”
"That or since it's a spider it's a predator that has good survival instincts." Dillan said, a clicking noise echoing through the area.
"Good observation, my species was once the predator to another race until they tricked us and threw us off our planet and we had to evolve." A sinister voice said all around them.
“Who said that?” Ember asked, looking around. “Show yourself!”
"Oh I missed a dragon." The voice said. "No matter, the watch user is the one I'm after."
"And I can only assume one of the Ben 10 villains got you to come here." Dillan said, turning his head slightly. "And seeing as spiders are nightmare fuel I can assume it's Zs'skayr."
“Zs-who?” Ember asked in confusion, “Who the heck is that?”
"An enemy of mine that's basically a ghost alien." Dillan said.
"Very accurate, funny because soon all the dragons of this land will become ghosts as well."
“What is that supposed to mean?!” Ember asked angrily,
Dillan furrows his eyebrows in determination, as the voice didn't respond. "If it's a spider then he's probably planning on eating them."
Ember went wide eyed before growling in anger, “You better not! Or else I’ll turn you to ash!” she shouted, a small bit of fire escaping her jaws.
Dillan listened closely as the clicking noise returned and began to grow quieter. "I think it's leaving."
“Oh heck no! You get back here and tell me where those dragons are!” Ember shouted but received no reply.
Dillan places a hand on her shoulder. "Calm down, getting worked up and making mistakes is what it wants. We need to keep calm and figure out where he could keep all of them."
Ember growled but nodded her head. “Right, so where do you think he would keep them?” she asked Dillan.
Dillan thinks for a moment. "It would have to be somewhere big, like really big. Is there a cave or ravine anywhere down here?"
Ember holds her chin in thought, “There is a ravine not too far from here.” she said.
"That's the best place to look then." Dillan said as he pushed down his ultimatrix, a blue light blinding ember before he was replaced by an orange and red charcoal looking being with fire all over its body giving off light as he looked at her.
Ember nodded before she walked forward, “Follow me, I know where the ravine is.” she said,
Dillan nods as they head down farther into the cave. "I'm surprised you aren't surprised by living fire."
“There’s literally a giant spider that has captured dragons somewhere in this cave, pretty sure I’ve been surprised enough.” Ember said with a shrug of her shoulders.
Dillan nods a bit. "Fair enough, and don't worry. I'll get them all back."
“Thanks Dillan.” Ember said with a small smile. “I just hope we aren’t too late.”
Dillan smiles and pats her shoulder. "Don't worry, I know it'll be ok."
“I hope so.” Ember said, and the two continued walking through the cave in silence, making sure to keep an ear out for the spider alien.
Dillan glances at her. "I know it'll be alright, even if something happens I can undo it. Not a lot of beings know that… I can revive the dead."
Ember looked at him in shock, “You can what?!” Ember shouted,
Ember's mouth gets covered by his flaming hand, as she thanks the lord she's fore proof. "Will be keep quiet, and yes I can. Remember those magic orbs I mentioned yesterday? The ones that can grant any wish even though there's too much water for them to remove?"
“Oh those, yeah I remember those things. And you’re saying those things can revive the dead?” Ember asked.
Dillan nods. "Yes, but only up to one year after they died and it can't be natural. Which is why I couldn't revive anyone that died when the icciclean froze Nearly everything."
Ember nods in understanding, “I see.” she said, then noticed that the webbing was getting more and more frequent, “I think we’re getting close.”
Dillan thinks for a moment. "Hold on, I'm gonna make a call." He said tapping his ultimatrix, as Ember looked at him confused before a voice came out of the ultimatrix shocking her.
"Hello Dillan, what is it?" The voice asked.
"Albedo, can you tell me anything about a spider alien that was kicked off it's home world?" Dillan asked the voice.
"A spider species kicked off it's home world?" Albedo asked. "It sounds like the spidarian species, a subspecies of the Arachnosapiens. They originate from the planet Saniton Knujdray(owned and created by zigwolf on deviantart) the spidarian's originated there not the Arachnosapiens." The voice said. "They used to be the primary predators to the Muscadipterran (also owned and created by zigwolf) species until they were banished from their world."
"Anything you can tell me about it? We have one on my planet." Dillan said.
"That's not good, there's no records of anyone surviving encounters with them. They just eat the inhabitants of worlds and reproduce until they take over." Albedo said.
“But it’s just one. Surely someone might deal with it before it can take over the world. RIght?” Ember asked nervously.
"Do not be sure, in order to survive they have developed many types of elemental webbing to defeat many enemies." Albedo said. "And they have the ability to reproduce asexually in an environment where there's only one spidarian." Dillan holds his chin in thought.
Ember gulped fearfully, “That’s not good. Not good at all.” she said, “You said they had elemental webbing? What kind?”
"All kinds, ice, water, fire, so on." Albedo said, as Ember starts freaking out.
“Okay, that’s really not good!” she shouted, “This thing is able to take down dragons! Freaking dragons!”
Ember sees Dillan smile softly and put a hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry, I've got this."
“But that guy said no one has survived encountering one of them! What makes you think you can handle it?!” Ember asked fearfully.
"Because I have this." He said tapping his ultimatrix, and returning to normal. "And I'm not going to let anyone get hurt on my watch." He said walking down into the cave, leaving Ember dumbfounded.
Ember just stood there, still dumbfounded before shaking her head and following Dillan, “You’re a good guy you know that?” she asked Dillan.
Dillan stays silent. "Not good enough…" he mumbled as they reached a large ravine deep in the cave. The walls that were obviously once just sheer rock faces, now we're nothing but different colored webbings of all shades. White, blue, red, black. Some were on fire, and some seemed to freeze the rock it was stuck too, with hundreds of large and small sacks alike that wiggled from time to time indicating they were the dragons.
“There’s the kidnapped dragons! Let’s go free them!” Ember said, preparing to fly over to the cocoons.
Dillan grabs her arm and shakes his head. "You really think an apex predator like this will just have it's prey unguarded? We need to beat it before freeing them."
Ember looked at the captured dragons with worry before nodding her head, “Alright, how do we beat that overgrown bug?” Ember asked.
Dillan smiles. "We don't, I do. You need to free everyone while I'm distracting him."
Ember looked at him in shock, “What?! But what if you need help against that thing?!”
Dillan smiles. "Then I'll die while you get your people away from here, get them all to Equestria." He said before jumping down onto a web.
"Well well well, look who's here." The voice from before said, the clicking noise growing loud again as Dillan looked around. “I was wondering when you would show up. I was getting a bit bored that I was about to have a snack.”
"I'm not scared of you." Dillan said, keeping an eye on Ember as she freed the dragons. "And I know you want my ultimatrix for Zs’skayr, so just get your spider butt out here."
“You should be scared, my species are the apex predators, nothing survives encountering us. And you won’t either. Even with that little toy of yours.” the voice said, and Dillan could what clicking moving around him.
Dillan laughs. "You're right, but whoever said I was planning on leaving, I'm just letting Ember get out. Besides, I'm pretty smart. I think I can beat your butt. Also quit being a creep and come on our already, and it would be nice to know your name before I beat the crap out of you!"
“Very well.” the voice said before a large alien walked down the wall and stood in front of Dillan, its upper body was mostly human, but that was it, its arms were replaced with spider legs, and its head was that of a spider with two large fangs and eight eyes. Its lower body was that of a spider, eight large, hairy spider legs and a spider's abdomen. “My name is Amur, remember it cause it will be the last thing you hear.”
Dillan shivers as he shakes his head. "Fuck Luna is gonna have to deal with my arachnophobia nightmares tonight, but at least Embers getting the Dragons out…" he said noticing Ember was in a web dangling from the ceiling. "Yeah, I should have guessed."
Amur looked at Ember and chuckled, “You were a fool to try and free them.” he said to her then turned to Dillan, “As for you, I think I will deal with you now.”
Dillan smirks as he pops up his ultimatrix, slamming it down as he transforms into a dark blue skinned alien with two bat-like wings. "Vampire!" He said flying into the air. "Let's do this!"
Amur immediately shot webs at Dillan, causing him to fly up and avoid them, only for a web to hit his shoulder before shocking him. “Fool, I am prepared to deal with any alien you transform into.” Amur said,
Dillan spun quickly around as his eyes glowed blue, beams of energy shooting out at the walls and webs all around them freezing them on impact. Breaking free from the now frozen webs he flew into the air, his eyes glowing red before reb beams blasted the walls and made all the ice melt drenching the Spidarian in water. "Good luck with electro webs when you yourself are soaked, can't exactly channel electricity all wet can you?"
“No I cannot, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have other means of defeating you!” Amur said, shooting another web at Dillan, who shot red beams at it, burning it but didn’t notice Amur on the wall behind him until he felt a web stick to his back before he was slammed into a wall. Amur shot another web at him, which froze him to the wall.
Dillan laughs a bit as Amur clubs the wall on top of him. "You know, your really bumb."
“How so?” Amur asked,
Dillan smirks as a yellow beam from his ultimatrix scans Amur. "Uncataloged dna detected."
"Because I told you I'm not stupid!" He slammed his head into Amurs, sending the giant spider across the ravine to another wall as he broke out of the ice. "You're the ultimate apex predator, which means to beat you I need to be you!" He said pushing his ultimatrix down, as Ember watched in shock.
In a flash dillan became a large black spider like being with a blue hourglass on his spider ass. The end of his long arms having red tips as his purple hair flowed a little from the transformation.
“Damn, got too careless.” Amur said, glaring at Dillan.
"Yeah overconfidence is a bitch." Dillan said, shooting a web onto the ceiling and crawling up to Ember, before cutting her free. "Get out of here." He said, shooting webs of water at Amur when he launched a flaming web at them.
“But what about the rest of the dragons?” Ember asked, pointing at the cocoons.
"I'll get them, you get the ones you freed out." Dillan said, before lunging at the Spidarian making the two topple and roll before facing each other again. "If I'm honest this is kinda fun!" He said.
“I must admit, I’ll have to agree, it’s been a while since I have found prey to be so challenging.” Amur said as the two circled each other.
Dillan smirks as he shoots ice webs onto the ground to slip up the Spidarian, before launching multiple rock webs at it.
The Spidarian merely shoots fire webs at the ice webs, melting them before he quickly jumped to the side, dodging the rock webs. “Ameture.” Amur said before firing a toxic green web at Dillan.
Dillan smirks as he shoots an electro web at the toxic webbing making them explode on contact. "That the best ya got?"
He can see Amur getting angry as the Spidarian growled. “Don’t get confident worm. I’m just getting started.” Amur said before firing another webbing at Dillan, who shot webbing back only to get tackled by Amur before he was thrown into a wall, Amur looked up and used his webbing to pull down some of the wall onto Dillan.
Dillan uses ice webs to block the rocks from hitting him before shooting more ice webbing onto Amur, freezing his legs and big ass to the ground. Amur quickly shot fire webs to the ice, freeing himself but also burning himself as well. He then looked at Dillan only to get hit in the face by a rock. “Gagh!” Amur shouted in surprise.
"Like I said before I'm not dumb!" He heard Dillan yell, before he was drenched in water and ice again, before seeing Dillan using his fire webs to melt the ice he just created confused Amur.
Dillan smirked at the spider alien before Amur noticed he was now in the middle of an ice bowel that was filling with water, just before Dillan began to charge up an electro web.
Amur went wide eyed, “No!” he shouted before he tried to get out.
"Too late!" Dillan yelled, firing the electro web. Amur was able to climb to the edge of the bowel just before the electro web hit the water, a painful shock coursing through him as the water on him conducted the electricity still paralyzing the Spidarian.
“AAAAAAAHHHHH!” Amur screamed in pain as he was electrocuted, still trying to get out but to no avail.
Dillan shoots a normal web onto the Spidarian and pulled it out, landing next to it while returning to his human form. "Looks like I win."
Amur growled a bit before chuckling, “I-it seems you did.” he said, too much in pain to move.
Dillan smirks. "You're a good combatant, too bad you're not a plumber, your skills could be useful to them." He said, forcing it into its feet as he dragged it outside to where Ember and the freed dragons were.
“I see that you won, what took you so long?” Ember asked him,
"I thought you didn't believe I could win?" He asked back with a playful smirk.
“Er, well, I, uh.” Ember stuttered a bit before sighing. “Okay, I’m glad you’re alright, taking down a guy who managed to take down dragons must have been pretty tough to fight.”
"Wow, someone's going soft." Dillan chuckled. "And yeah, but once I figured out his weakness it was easy." He said tapping his ultimatrix again.
"Plumber HQ." A voice said over his watch.
"My name is Dillan, I have an ultimatrix and I reside on the planet-" he started.
"Equs, we know mister Dillan Azimuth has informed us of you. What can we do for you?" The voice said.
"I have a Spidarian on my planet that attempted to take over, I need you to come and get him." Dillan said.
"A Spidarian? Yikes, understood, there's a plumber not too far from your location, we'll send them right away." The Voice stated.
“Um, what’s a plumber?” Ember asked Dillan, her and the rest of the dragons looking at him in confusion.
Dillan thinks for a moment. "A guard of the universe, they protect planets and innocent beings from bad guys."
“Wow, they must be pretty tough if they’re a guard of the universe.” Ember said,
Dillan chuckles. "There's thousands of them."
“Okay, that makes a bit more sense.” Ember said, “Anyway, so these Plumber guys are coming to pick up the insect?”
"Arachnid." Dillan and Amur said at once.
Ember rolls her eyes, “Whatever, so they're gonna come and take him away or something?”
"Yeah, they'll send him to plumber HQ to face his crimes." Dillan said.
Ember nods, “Good.” she said, glaring at the spider.
Amur glares back. "A being needs to eat."
“Couldn’t you eat something else?” Ember asked.
"Like what? I'm a giant Spider. What would be large enough for me to eat without needing to eat hundreds of things all at once?" It asked.
Dillan thinks on what the Spidarian said. "well… that is a good point but there has to be a better way."
“Like what?” Ambur asked,
Dillan hums. "Well… there's the Tokyo ghoul option of eating suicide victims, or you could find large animals that aren't sentient and raise them for food."
“What? You mean like a, what’s the word again? Oh yeah, a farmer? You want me to become something like that?” Amur asked.
Dillan opens his mouth but sighs and rubs his head. "shit, I would say yes but billions of years of instincts make that impossible…"
“Exactly.” Amur said, nodding his head in agreement.
Dillan rubs his head more trying to think as a plumber's ship lands next to them. The ramp came down as a tall red four armed man and a super fast raptor like girl came down. "Manny and Hellen?" Dillan mumbled as they approached.
“What’s up? We heard you got a Spidarian that needs picking up.” Manny said,
Dillan nods and gestures to Amur. "What's gonna happen to him?"
“He’s going to jail, that’s what.” Manny said, walking over to Amur and grabbed him.
Dillan frowns a bit. "That doesn't seem fair for a being just doing what he knows…"
“Even if is doing what he knows, it’s still a crime.” Helen said, just as Manny paced energy cuffs on Amur and began walking him to the ship.
Dillan looks down, not sure what to say. “Hey, you alright?” Ember asked him,
"Not sure, I just heard something I don't really get you know?" Dillan asked, shaking his head. "I mean Amur did what he did to survive and live… I do the same thing to pigs so what makes us so different?"
"Because you don't attack or eat beings that are able to talk." Ember said. "Beings that have feelings and can express it."
Dillan thinks for a bit and nods slowly watching the plumber ship fly away. "yeah, I guess… kinda feel bad still…"
Ember sighs and places a comforting hand on his shoulder, “Hey, maybe you can think of something else for him to do besides eat, multiply and take over planets. Well, something other than being a farmer.”
Dillan chuckles. "Yeah, thanks. We'll start setting up food and houses for you all tomorrow…" he said smiling softly as the sun starts going down.
Ember nods, “Yeah, after what happened earlier, I’m exhausted.” Ember said,
Dillan smiles softly, seeing all the dragons starting to lay down as he walks away to a hidden part of the island and sets up his capsule house. But he didn’t notice Ember following him, “Wonder what’s he doing?” Ember said to herself.
She sees Dillan head into the capsule house, before he goes into another room. She raised an eyebrow and peaked through the door he walked into, blushing before she turned away. “M-maybe I shouldn’t do that again.” she said as she walked away from the door.
