Chapter 6: Luna ~Chapter 5~
Previous Chapter Next ChapterI followed the smithy who was muttering to himself down through hallways until we came to the forge. “Ah, here we are!” he started running back and forth fetching things from racks and barrels. The room was filled with a light smoke that funnelled out of a hole in the roof, there were a variety of metals and other materials scatted randomly over wooden racks protruding from the wall. There was a big forge full of red hot embers, the smithy was already heating and pounding metal. I smiled a bit he was so absorbed in his work I’m sure he didn’t even remember I was there, I sat in a wooden chair of in the corner and closed my eyes. What had to have been only a few hours later I was woken by a loud “HAHA! That ought to do it!” I glanced up to see him examining his work with a triumphant smile. I trotted up and said “you done?” he turned to me with his toothy grin and said “Try it on” he stepped aside and I saw a set of armour that looked like it was made of obsidian. I carefully shrugged the body plate on, nothing happened so I pulled the rest on with help from my new found magic. This armour was a lot more battle suited that the other gold armour, there was almost none of my coat showing only a slit for my eyes. I noticed that there was a faint blue light coming from inside my helmet “Hey you got a mirror” I asked the smithy “Sure over here” he gestured to an old mirror against one wall. I walked up and surprisingly the armour barely made and noise. When I looked in the mirror my jaw fell open, were my eyes were I could only see orbs emitting that blue fire glow little trails of blue smoke funnelling out from the slit “Holy shit!” I yelled “how was this even possible I can see perfectly fine!” I thought. Then I noticed the forge had erupted into tall flames. I took a few deep breaths and the flames dissipated, I turned back to the smithy, who was still grinning like a maniac “That good eh?” he said “Uh yea” I replied. I looked back at the mirror and examined the armour, I looked like some kind of evil villain rather than a royal guard. But it did look pretty awesome. “Hey thanks…” I tailed off “Oh the names Smith” I looked at him blankly for a moment then chuckled “Not the most original name for a smithy” “Bah it’s a fine name, though this detour has eaten up my tour time. Just go report to Princess Luna for your placement” Smith said “alright, which way?” I said “Just got left, then take you first right you can’t miss it” Smith said. I walked down the hall and turned right, after a minute I came up to a giant pair of doors with a pair of moons on them “Smith was right, pretty hard to miss” I thought. I pushed the door open and walked in. It was a big throne room though a darker color scheme than Celestia’s, as I looked around and found there were no sources of light at all “Holy shit I can see in the dark with these eyes? Maybe my new eyes weren’t so bad, and they did look pretty cool” I thought. I turned and faced the princess who was reclining in a comfortable looking throne with her personal guard scattered around the room. I looked straight at the princess and bowed “Princess Luna” I greeted her “ah Nighters come take a seat” she said motioning at a comfortable couch. I walked up and sat down on the couch facing her. She clapped her hooves a little and said “Ha, you don’t even need my night seeing spell. I think we’ll get along just fine” she said with a grin. “So, what’s my placement? I don’t have to patrol the sewer or something do i?” I asked. Luna gave out a chuckle “No, no. nothing like that, in fact you’ll be joining my personal guard” she said her smile broadening “Thank you princess, its and honour” I said a little dumbfounded. “So what should I do exactly?” I asked “Lunch I’d guess, you needn’t do a thing unless I call you. And right now I have nothing for you” she replied “I wonder if I should tell her I don’t need to eat. Nah I'm already odd enough” I thought. “Ok. I’ll see you later then princess” I said turning and heading back the way I came. “Were am I even going? Might as well explore and gain some bearings” I thought. After half an hour of walking and getting odd stares I knew the general layout of the castle. I walked into the cafeteria , and the loud chatter lessened and whispers broke out among the tables of guards when they saw me. I calmly walked up to the server who was a scrawny little stallion with acne and seemed out of place among all the guards. He shook visibly in fear and spilled my drink twice then handed me a tray packed with one of everything on it. I nodded in thanks and he calmed a bit then walked up to an empty table and sat down. Before I could take of my helmet a brawny guard trotted up and yelled “Hey!” I turned to face him “You the one who killed all those guards right” “yes” I replied. He looked a little taken back by my voice. I had almost forgotten about it but my voice, it did sound quite ghostly. He regained his confidence and said “I heard you were trying to attack the princess because she executed your slu-“ that was all he had time to say, in a split second a ball of fire impacted him in the chest, breaking fourteen of his eighteen ribs and dislocating both his forelegs. He tumbled limply through the air and landed with a crash on a table at the opposite end of the room. Every eye was on me, and I was now coated in my teal flames. Ponies moved to help him and I walked off to my room. When I arrived I found the door locked and note on the door “Nighters, your chambers have been moved. Please return to the throne room. Luna.” “Huh” I said and burned the note to ash and trotted down the hall. When I walked in Luna was still in her throne but all the guards were gone. “Ah… Nighters just in time. Follow me to your new quarters” she said her voice sultry. I raised an eyebrow though through the helm I seriously doubted she could see it. “Ok…” I replied and followed her through a door behind her throne, once inside the door slammed behind me. I looked and saw Luna had ditched her boots and was now lying on a giant bed with black covers that looked unreasonably soft “Holy shit! This is the princesses chambers!” I thought.
