Later that night,

The two ponies stumbled back into their room, Dashie clearly drunk from her evening wining and dining with Rarity.

“I thinkkkkk I’ddd make a great basssseball player,” said Dashie as she struggled to avoid slurring her words.

“I’m sure you would,” said Rarity, humouring her drunk pegasus friend. “But it’s time that we go to bed, darling.”

“Ok,” said Rainbow Dash as she plopped down onto the ground, unable to stay on her feet. Rarity reached down to try to lift her friend up. However, Rarity underestimated her friend’s weight (most of it muscle) and toppled down, landing on top of Rainbow Dash. Eventually the drunk pegasus was able to get back to her feet, slowly making it back to the main bed with the assistance of her faithful friend.

“Wait,” said Rainbow Dash, suddenly nervous. “I’m supposed to sleep on the couch.”

“Oh no darling,” said Rarity, stroking her friends mane in an attempt to soothe Dashie, “You can sleep up here on the main bed with me tonight.”

“But, last night-”

“Forget last night. We are friends and we trust each other.”

“Thank you Rarity. You’re my bestest friend ever,” said Rainbow Dash as she drunkenly embraced her friend in a tight hug.

Rarity, felt a bit uncomfortable at this point. However, she was keen to avoid having a repeat of the previous evening’s spat and thus let her friend hug her for several minutes. As soon as Rainbow Dash was passed out, she proceeded to slide out of her friend’s embrace and curled up on her side of the bed. After saying a quick prayer to the Equestrian gods, she fell asleep.
