Flurry Hearts
Chapter 2
Previous Chapter Next ChapterFlurry rested in her bed, struggling to go to sleep. She wanted to sleep, but not only was she excited to see some new faces, but she didn’t want a dream that was like the one from before. However, a heavy wind blew onto her window.
CRASH!!!
A lightning bolt came down, just a few meters away from the window, making Flurry shriek. She looked outside to see a large storm had came out with lightning raining down.
“W-What’s Cloudsdale doing?” She asked herself, getting up and steadily walking out. “Mom? Dad?” She did not hear any voice respond back to her. Just the sound of the storm outside as it continued to rage on. They weren't too far from her room; she may want to be independent, but there were nights when she needed somepony to be with her. However, when she got into their room, instead of seeing either of her parents in bed asleep, it was empty. “W-Wha-!? Mom!? Dad!? This better not be a-” Emerging from the floor and on the bed were the same creatures she had in the dream. Flurry gasped “T-THEY’RE REAL!!! MONSTERS!!! MONSTERS!!!” One of the creatures turned and sprinted to her. She reacted quickly, picking up a wooden sword next to her and swinging it. The toy went through the monster. “... Uh… sorry?” It swiped it’s claw at her. “EEP!!!” She ducked in time and ran away.
She sprinted around the narrow halls, seeing more of the creatures appearing, seemingly invading like Chrysalis’s changeling, but much worse. Many of the royal guards, as she saw, fought off the monsters with very little success. All Flurry could see was one of the guards falling in battle, only to have a heart come out of them. The heart floated away, only to be sucked into a black and purple glowing vortex, and appearing was another one of the dark creatures. Fear began to take hold; no matter what they did, these monsters were indestructible, and if she were to fall, she was going to become one of them.
“Go! Get out of here!” She heard her father yelling. Flurry turned and looked out of a window; she saw her father at the front gates of the castle, using some unknown magic on the monsters, turning them into floating hearts. Above him was what could only be described as a giant portal that her shadow used in the dream.
“Dad!” Flurry yelled, hoping to get his attention. She turned, only to see the last guard in the room turned into one of the creatures. It turned to her and began to make it’s way to her. “Oh no!” The filly looked out, seeing a tree just below her. “It’s better than nothing.” She jumped out of window, landing roughly in the tree, and sliding down. A few cuts and bruises were on her coat, but she was fine and not a monster. However, more of the creatures emerged right behind her. She ran to her dad, where the creatures have stopped. “Where’s mom!? We have to get out of here!”
“... The door… it has opened.” Shining spoke, clearly not acting like himself.
“What!?” He turned around. Flurry gasped as his horn wasn’t the white and straight shape it was, but rather, it was curved and grey, which transitioned to red. “D-Dad!?”
“The door’s open, Flurry! I can shut it with this new magic!”
“What are you talking about!? We have to find mom!”
“Mom isn’t here!” Flurry took a step back, surprised at what he said, and how blunt it was. “I’m sorry, Flurry, but she’s not here with us. They took her. Only I can shut this door and save Equestria, and we’ve already suffered a heavy price, but we can save everyone else and our world. We can’t let fear stop us; We can fight fire with fire! I’m not afraid of the darkness!” He reached his left hoof to her. “But I need your help.”
“... Dad…” A portal opened below her dad. It’s tentacles wrapped around him and began to slowly drag him in. Flurry took a step forward, but stop as the tentacles wrapped around her and she began to sink in. She reached to him, but her hoof couldn’t touch his. “Dad! Help me!”
“Reach, Flurry. Reach out to me!” She grunted as she tried to reach for him. The inches were becoming torture as she couldn’t touch his hoof.
“I… can’t… do it!” The darkness engulfed her once again. Everything went silent… no one was around, nothing was around… it was… empty. Then a flash of light came. The world came back as Flurry gasped for air. She looked up to see that her dad was now gone. “D-dad…?” Something felt heavy on her right hoof. She looked down; seemingly attached to her hoof was what she could only describe was a giant key. The handle was pure gold, and the rest was pure silver, with the end looking like a crown, and the same minimal mouse head on a chain at the other end.
“Keyblade…” The same voice from her dream spoke “Keyblade…” Before she could contemplate, the shadowy creatures arose in front of her. She quickly reacted by swinging the giant key at the one in front of her. It turned into a dark cloud with a heart flying away.
“... Did that just-?” She asked, but saw the creatures backing up, still intact to attacking her, but now wary of something that she’s not. Flurry held the key in both of her hooves. “B-back off… you monsters.” They all jumped her. The filly readied the key and swung in a circle, effectively knocking most back with some turning into hearts. “I said back off!” More swinging was needed. More of the shadows emerged, at least two coming for everyone she defeated. Then she heard screaming… her mother’s screaming. “MOM!!!” She ran through the crowd of monsters, only swinging when they attacked her. Eventually, she found herself in the Canterlot gardens, seeing that the cave she hid in now had a door in front of it. Not wasting any time, she ran to the door. It opened and she ran in.
None of the creatures followd her in the cave. Either this was good or bad wasn’t much up for debate as Flurry ran in. Flurry stopped as she saw her mom in front of the door from earlier.
“Mom!” She yelled. Cadence turned around slowly with a dead look in her eyes.
“Flurry…” she spoke as if she were a zombie. Cadence reached out to Flurry, only for the door to open with shadowy winds blowing everything away! Flurry stood her ground, but Cadence was flung to her. The filly was prepared to be hit, but instead, her mother fazed right through her, and disappeared into the wind.
“Mom!?” The wind blew harder and Flurry was blasted away.
Flurry Heart woke up to find herself on a small island that was part of the Canterlot gardens. She looked above to see the giant orb above of her. Around her was a tornado with other bits of the land, castle, and some of the citizens around, all screaming for their lives. The floor shook. Flurry turned around to see… the giant shadow creature from her dream.
“N-No! This can’t be happening!” She screamed. It reached it’s hand to her. “NO!!! GO AWAY!!!” She pulled the key from out of thin air and whacked it with it. It reveled in pain. Flurry looked at the key in her hooves. “It’s weakness… is this key?” The giant shadow got onto it’s knees, leaned back, and fired miniature orbs from the missing heart in it’s chest. “Gah!!!” She ran away from the orbs, hoping they’d stop, but she smacked the monster’s hands. Again, it groaned in pain. It stood back up and did the same punch-portal it did in the dream. Flurry ran and whacked it’s hand with all her might. Her fear somehow made herself stronger.
The orb above began to suck everything in, starting with the large shadow monster. Flurry grabbed onto a piece of the castle, but her grip became weak, and she was pulled into the orb above her.
“MOM!!! DAD!!! HEEEEELP!!!” She screamed before entering the orb.
Donald and Goofy walked across the floor of the world dubbed ‘Traverse Town’. Instead of his royal armor, Goofy wore a black vest over a green sweater with yellow pants and hat, which had red goggles. Donald, meanwhile, still wore his royal vest, but switched the hat that was more like a beanie. They both stopped as Goofy pointed to the open sky.
“Look, a star’s goin’ out!” He exclaimed. As he said that, one of the stars grew bright before disappearing.
“Come on, let’s hurry.” Donald replied before they began to walk forward. He crossed his arms, a bit impatient to finding who they’re looking for “Where’s that key?”
“Hey, ya know, maybe we ought to find Leon.” Pluto sniffed the floor, heading to the left side/back of a nearby jewelry store. “Uh, Donald. Ya know, I betcha that-”
“Aw, what do you know, you big palooka?” Donald continued to the right path, following the steps.
“What do I know? Hm… Come on, Pluto!” Unbeknownst to them, Pluto sniffed to something interesting.
Flurry Heart woke up to find some strange dog was licking her face. She groaned, feeling rather light headed. Pluto sat down and panted, ready for a response.
“... What a dream…” Flurry said, about to sleep again. Pluto jumped on her. “GAH!” She jumped up, shaking herself. “Oh… this isn’t a dream!” She looked around the area she was in, seeing some boxes and the fence that made up the back alley. “Wh-where am I? … Mom and Dad are NOT going to happy with this.” She turned to the dog. “Do you know where we are, doggy?” It lifted it’s right ear and ran off. “No! Wait! Come back!” She ran after the dog. However, she stopped as she saw what looked like an entirely different town with some different creatures around. “This… this is totally weird. Wait a minute… am I… AM I IN A NEW WORLD!?”
Flurry began to investigate the new world she was in. She walked down the steps and turned to a human male on the left, right in front of a barred up gate.
“Excuse me?” She spoke.
“Hello.” He replied.
“Um… can I get some info around here?”
“Sure! This town is divided into three districts. This is the first district.”
“... Is that it?”
“That’s all I know, miss.”
“... Dang it.” She walked across to a lady with a white top and a long, green dress. “Excuse me, can you tell me something about this town?”
“...Hmph, fine.” She replied, sounding rather rude. “People with nowhere else to turn come to this town. Where am I from? None of your business. Don’t ask any of that question here. Everybody’s got an unhappy past.”
“Um… okay… very pessimistic.” She walked up the stair and into the jewelry shop. Behind the counter was a man in his midlife, looking a bit buff, with a blonde, pointed up hair, wearing a white shirt, goggles, and had a toothpick in his mouth.
“Hey there,” he greeted. “How can I- Aw, it’s only a kid.”
“Oh, um, sorry.”
“Why the long face? You lost or somethin’?”
“No… well, maybe. Where am I?”
“Huh?”
It took him a while, but Flurry found out that she was in a town called Traverse Town. In return, Flurry told him about herself and where she came from.
“Traverse Town… that sounds nice. So, is this another world, sir?”
“Please, call me Cid. I’m not sure what you’re talkin’ about, but this sure ain’t your castle.”
“Oh… well, thank you, Cid! … I wonder where mom and dad are at.”
“Good luck with whatever it is you’re doing. If you ever run into trouble, you come to me. I’ll look out for you.” She blushed with a smile. Despite his ruggedness, he was nice, and this was her first friend that not only wasn’t a pony, but from another world!
“Thank you, Cid.” She walked out, feeling better. Cid smiled himself.
“Never thought I’d see a talking pony. She was cute.”
Flurry followed another fleet of stairs, but stopped as she saw what could only be described as small, white teddy bear with tiny bat wings, a large red nose, and a brighter red angler on it’s head. It was probably one of the cutest things she’s ever seen in her life. She walked to the small creature. It turned to her.
“This is the item workshop, KUPO!!!” It spoke in a squeaky voice before turning demonic when it yelled the final word. Flurry Heart screamed at that word.
“Demon!!!” She ran out of the doors.
“... Why are people afraid of that word… KUPO!!!”
When Flurry Heart walked into the door, she was greeted by a man tripping over with a petrified look on his face. His heart came out and it entered the portal thing, where another one of the monsters came out, but this one was wearing dark clothes and looked like a knight with the helmet it wore. It jumped into the air and vanished away.
“... W-what just happened?” She asked to herself. Shadows emerged from the floor, and all around her were more of the shadow creatures. “N-NO!!! NOT AGAIN!!!” She ran away to the left and entered what looked like a hotel. The creatures followed her. Donald and Goofy entered through the door.
“Doesn’t look like they’re here.” Goofy spoke, looking around.
“Keep looking.” Donald replied, crossing his arms while tapping his right foot impatiently.
Flurry Heart ran to the booth and rang the bell.
“Hello!? Is anypony here!?” She asked. No response. She dinged the bell more. “Can anypony hear this!?” She looked back, then back to the booth. She pulled out the giant key and slammed it on the bell, to which it broke. “It’s broken! I broke it!” Still nothing. She looked outside “... Okay… when I get out, those monsters will be gone… and I can look for my family.” She opened the door and walked out. On both of her sides were more of the monsters. “... AHHH!!!” She jumped off of the balcony to the floor below, landing face first. With a tug, she looked up to see more of the creatures appearing. “... AHHH!!!” She got up and ran. “HELP!!! SOMEPONY!!! CAN’T YOU SEE THAT THEY’RE GOING TO KILL ME!?!?!?” She ran to the left, as more appeared to the right, and entered a house. As she entered, Donald and Goofy exited a building above.
“Not here, either.” Donald spoke, still rather impatient.
“This could take a while.” Goofy added.
Flurry took deep breaths as the blocked the entrance with her body.
“Where… did… I… go… so… wrong?” Her breathing slowed as she looked around the house. To her left, all she saw were two dalmations, both looking rather depressed. She walked to them. “Aw… what’s wrong?” The male, indicated by a red collar, looked at her, then back to the female, wearing a blue collar. “Are your owners gone? … Did you lose some puppies?” She didn’t want it to be that. Their ears perked, then lowered. A shot of guilt hit her. “Oh… I-I’m sorry. Um… i-is there any way I can help? … Perhaps… I can find them?” The male’s ears perked as it stood up, his tail wagging.
“Woof! Woof!”
“Oh then. I’ll try very hard then. How many are there?” The dog ran into another room and came back with a photo. Flurry Heart nearly had a heart attack as she counted 99 puppies. “... Oh dear. Um… I-I’ll try my hardest.”
“Woof! Woof!” She patted the dog on his head.
“I’ll be back with some of your puppies…” she read his collar. “Pongo.” Flurry explored the house, seeing how, despite all of the stuff was around, felt empty. As much as she didn’t want to, she couldn’t find all of the puppies… but somehow, she knew she was going to do it, even if it was going to take forever. She exited the house and into an alleyway. More of the shadows appeared. “... Oh, right, almost forgot about them.” She pulled the key out. “DIE, SPAWNS OF TARTARUS!!!” She swung wildly as she screamed her head off, running to the entrance. Flurry screamed loudly and ran back to the entrance; Cid was going to be there, and she needed someone to hold her.
Flurry slammed the door behind her as she entered the district with Cid in it. If she were able to, she’d lock it all up and board it up so nobody would get out, or let something in. She turned, feeling rather relieved… only to have it crushed as the creatures came out of the ground.
“... Oh no! Cid!” She screamed. Some more slicing, and she made her way into Cid’s jewelry shop. “Cid! Are you alright!?” Cid still stood behind the counter.
“Back so soon?” He asked. Flurry jumped onto him, hugging him tightly with tears coming down her face.
“Oh, Cid! I’m so glad you’re fine!”
“What the-!?” Cid lost balance and fell to the floor. “Get off me, Missy!”
“Those monsters! They’re everywhere! Quickly! Get some wood and I’ll board up the walls! We’ll make sure that they-” She was kicked out of the store.
“AND Stay out!!!” Cid slammed the door. Flurry ran to the door and slammed onto it.
“NO!!! Cid! We’re in danger!”
“They’ll come out at you out of nowhere.” A new voice spoke, this one a younger, brooding sounding man. Flurry turned to a man with long, brown and spiky hair, wearing a black leather jacket over a white shirt, and pants with three belts and multiple zippers. She pulled the giant key out.
“Who the hay are you!?”
“And they’ll keep on coming at you, as long as you continue to wield the keyblade.” He pointed at the giant key she held. “But why? Why would it choose a kid like you?”
“...Um… am I supposed to be offended… or what?”
“Nevermind.” He walked to her. “Let’s see that keyblade.”
“Um, if you want, sure, you can have it!” He tosses the giant key to him… to which it hit him on the head. “GAH!!! I-I swear! I didn’t meant for that to happen!” The man pulled out what looked like a mix between a sword and gun (indicated by the handle shaped like a revolver).
“All right, then have it your way.”
“... Mommy.” A single slice was only needed. Flurry fell down the flight of stairs that lead to Cid’s shop. The force was enough to make her fall unconscious.
“Hey, you found it.” A woman’s voice spoke. “Nice going, Leon.” The man turned to see a young woman with black hair, wearing a small, green shirt with a yellow scarf, tan short shorts with a blue belt, white stockings, and orange boots and gloves. He turned back to Flurry Heart.
“Still…” He spoke “It looks like things are worse than we thought. A lot worse.”
“And you hurt a wittle fiwwy.” She picked Flurry up. “Aww!... She’s so soft!” Leon could only face palm himself and shake his head in disappointment.
Donald and Goofy walked through the deserted back alley that Flurry ran through.
“Gawrsh, there's nobody here.” Goofy spoke. “Sure is spooky.”
“Aw phooey!” Donald replied. “I'm not scared!” A tap came to his shoulder. He screamed and jumped onto Goofy’s back.
“Excuse me,” A very kind, near shy woman’s voice spoke. “did the king send you?” The two turned to see a woman in a pink dress with brown pigtails and a matching pink bowtie.
“Come on, lazy bum. Wake up.” Cadence’s voice spoke. Flurry groaned as she woke up. Her vision was blurred, but she found herself in a different room and her head was on her mother's lap. Looking down and stroking her mane was her mother. “You ok?”
“... I guess…” She slowly answered.
“Those creatures that attacked you are after the keyblade. But it's your they really want, because you wield the keyblade.” Flurry didn't really understand what she meant, but smiled.
“I’m so glad you're alright, mom.”
“Mom? What are you talking about? I'm the great ninja, Yuffie!” Flurry's vision change and her mother turned into a different woman.
“GAH!!!” She got up and ran into a corner. “FOALNAPPERS!!!”
“... I think you overdid it, Squall.”
“That's Leon.” The man that knocked Flurry out replied, standing up from leaning against the wall. Flurry turned to him and charged at his legs.
“YOU'RE GOING TO REGRET WHAT YOU'VE DONE!!!” She began to bite his leg and boots. Leon looked rather unimpressed by her attack… And Yuffie squeed at the sight.
“D’aww! She's so cute!”
“But annoying.” She picked Flurry up, though the filly struggled.
“Unhand me, beast! I am Princess Flurry Heart, and I will not be subjugated to-” Yuffie took the filly and gave her a huge hug. All of Flurry's screams were muffled, as her movements were invalid.
“Who's a good wittle fiwwy?” Yuffie cooed. “Yes, you are. Yes, you are!” Flurry Heart rolled her eyes at the cooing.
“I'm quite surprised that you're not acknowledging the Keyblade.” Leon added. Flurry's head popped out of Yuffie’s arms.
“Keyblade!?” She turned to see the giant key leaning on the wall. “That's what that thing is called?”
“Yep!” Yuffie answered. “We had to get it away from you to shake off those creatures. It turns out, that's how they were following you. But you're now safe with us, you wittle fiwwy you.” Flurry groaned in annoyance.
“It was the only way to conceal your heart from them.” Leon added. “But it won't work for long.”
“Well aren't you a bundle of joy.” Flurry commented.
“Still hard to believe that you of all people are the chosen one.” The Keyblade vanished and reappeared in Flurry's right hoof. Flurry was quite surprised to see the massive key appear in her hooves. “Well, I suppose beggars can't be choosers.” Flurry’s head popped out of Yufie’s grip.
“Can I PLEASE get some answers here!? I’m sick of this vague, new world, monster attacking, lost parents scenario! Tell me what the hay is even going on!”
In a red and gold, Eastern looking room, Donald, Goofy, and the strange lady they meet chatted as she sat on the edge of the bed.
“Okay, you know there are many other worlds out there besides your castle and this town, right?” She asked.
“Yeah.” Donald nodded
“But they’re supposed to be a secret.” Goofy added with a gesture to cover his mouth.
“They’ve been secret because they’ve never been connected.” She answered. “Until now. … When the Heartless came, everything changed.”
“The Heartless?” Flurry asked as she rested on Yuffie’s lap, who proceeded to scratch behind her ears.
“The ones who attacked you, remember?” Yuffie asked.
“Those without hearts.” Leon added.
“Like businessmen?” Flurry asked.
“Not really,” Yuffie replied with a giggle. “They’re attracted to the darkness in people’s hearts. That’s what attracts them… but I see what you mean.”
“And there is darkness within every heart.” Leon added
“... Including mine?” Flurry asked. Only silence came. She didn’t see herself as a perfect child, but this seemed a bit more frightening.
“Hey, have you heard of someone named Sombra?” Yuffie asked.
“Sombra?” Goofy asked
“He was studying the Heartless.” She answered “He recorded all of his findings in a very detailed report.”
“Gawrsh, uh, can we see it?” She shook her head.
“It’s pages are scattered everywhere.”
“Scattered!?” Donald asked.
“To many worlds.”
“Oh, then maybe the king went to find ‘em.” Goofy suggested.
“Yes. Those were my thoughts, exactly.”
“We’ve gotta find him quick!”
“Wait!” Donald spoke “First, we need that “key”!”
“That’s right, the keyblade.” She spoke.
“So… this is the key?” Flurry asked, holding the Keyblade in her hooves.
“Exactly!” Yuffie answered.
“The Heartless have great fear of the Keyblade.” Leon spoke. “That’s why they’ll keep coming after you, no matter what.”
“But I didn’t ask for this!” Flurry retorted
“The Keyblade chooses its master.” Yuffie replied “And it chose you!”
“So tough luck.” Leon commented, leaning against the door to the other room.
“How did this all happen?” Flurry asked “I remember being in my room-” That’s then an epiphany hit her. “Wait a minute! What happened to my home!? What happened to Equestria!? My mom and dad!?”
“... You know what?... I really don’t know.”
“... I have another question.”
“Yes?” Yuffie asked, gently setting her on the floor.
“Can Heartless look like other things as well?”
“... Well, there are other forms. Why?”
“Can they look like people?”
“I… don’t know. Why?”
“I think your friend here is a Heartless.”
“Very funny.” Leon replied, rolling his eyes.
“Don’t worry, Leon’s been a grumpy pants.” Yuffie patted Flurry’s head. “I heard that the Keyblade can open all sorts of locks. You should give it a try when you see a treasure chest or locked door.” Flurry looked to the chest on the table. With a quick hop onto it, she tapped the Keyblade on the chest as she did in the Dream. It opened and she got a strange, new potion. She walked to Leon with the potion.
“What’s this?” She asked
“An Elixir.” He answered “It’ll heal you and regain magic.”
“Oh… I better keep it then.” She put it in her wing.
“Sooner or later, the Heartless will find you. You’d best prepare yourself.”
“Prepare myself?”
“To fight for your life. Are you ready?”
“... Well… if my parents are out there, then I’m as ready as I can get.”
“... Yuffie, let’s join Aerith. She should be there by now with the other visitors.”
“LEON!!!” Yuffie screamed. Popping out of the miniature orb was one of the small, knight looking Heartless.
“Yuffie, go!” Yuffie got up and ran out of the door… unknowingly slamming Donald flat.
“Yuffie!?” The woman with Donald and Goofy asked, following her. Flurry pulled out the Keyblade.
“Flurry, let’s go!” Leon spoke before firing his gun-blade at the Heartless, blasting it out of the window. He jumped out.
“Uh… I’ll meet you down there.” Flurry spoke, running out of the room and taking the long way.
Flurry ran and caught up with Leon, who finished off another Heartless.
“Don’t bother with the small fry.” He spoke “Find the leader! Let’s go!” He ran ahead, leaving Flurry behind.
“Hey! Wait for me, jerk!” Flurry yelled, fighting off the small Heartless knights. While they didn’t go underground like the others she fought, they took a bit more of a beating, and delivered more of a punch, albeit, slower. But she got out with only a bruise.
Instead of running back to the 1st District where Cid was at, and where the dalmatians were at, she went down the other alleyway, fighting the Heartless in her way. She saw a large door and entered. It was to District 3, the final one. This one was rather lit up, compared to the dimly lit 2nd District, but it still felt eerie with the lack of people present. Flurry continued her way down.
Goofy looked down at the balcony, unsure of what he saw below, but turned back to see some Heartless appearing in front of him and Donald.
“Gawrsh, are these the Heartless guys?” He asked, pulling and hiding behind his shield.
“Let’s go get ‘em, Goofy!” Donald spoke, preparing his staff. A small explosion came and the two fell.
Flurry screamed as she saw two strange figures falling from the sky and landed right on top of her. On her right side was Goofy, and on her left was Donald. They both looked dazed, but shook their heads as they saw the Keyblade in her right hoof, sticking out.
“The key!!!” Donald and Goofy cheered simultaneously. Their moment of joy was taken away as the floor shook and pillars rose from the ground, trapping the trio in. Heartless appeared in front of them.
“Oh no! Not again!” Flurry spoke, struggling to get up. “Ugh! Can someone get their butts off of me!”
“Oh, sorry.” Goofy spoke, jumping up and readying his shield. Donald followed suit with his staff.
“Alright, let’s get ‘em!” Donald quacked. Both he and Goofy charged… but Flurry stared with a blank expression, unsure what she was just seeing. Goofy charged in with his shield, immediately knocking down some of the Heartless in front of him, with the ones being hit immediately turning into hearts. Donald, meanwhile, fired some fireballs from his staff, making those hit by the fire run around in circles and try to put it out, before they were whacked in the head by the same staff that made them go on fire.
“... I’m in a dream, aren’t I?” She asked herself. “Okay! Pretty funny, Luna! I’m aware now; I shouldn’t have stolen the cookies from the cookie jar!” As she looked up, something fell from above. What landed looked like armor, but only the bare minimum; there was a pair of gloves, boots, a breastplate, and a helmet, but they all floated in a shape that resembled a knight. “... Am I supposed to be intimidated?” It swung it’s left hand at Flurry, knocking her to the wall. She crashed and fell to the floor, coughing hard.
“Donald!” Goofy yelled.
“I gotcha!” Donald quacked, throwing a potion to Flurry. “Drink up!” The bottle hit her in the face.
“Ow!” She yelled “Okay, I’m not dreaming then.” She opened the bottle, to which a green orb flew into the sky and landed on her, instantly healing her injuries. “WOW!!! That’s some good stuff!” She got up and readied the Keyblade “Okay… Duckie and Doggy, on my mark, we hit it’s feet!”
“What did you call us!?” The feet ‘disconnected’ from the body and began to stomp everywhere.
“Now! Hit it’s feet!” Flurry swung the Keyblade at it’s feet as Goofy bashed it with his shield and Donald, though begrudgingly, whacked it with his staff. The feet shattered into multiple pieces.
“We did it!” Goofy cheered.
“Aim for the hands!” The hands began to slice at them. Flurry swung at the hands, knocking the hands back before she jumped into the air and smashed one while Donald and Goofy smashed the other. The giant Heartless changed its tactics and began to spin around fast… only for the three to deliver a powerful attack together, cracking it’s breastplate. It rattled in place, followed by it’s helmet falling to the floor. A larger heart came out of the breastplate and flew into the air. The giant heartless evaporated into the air. Flurry took a sigh of relief.
“Whew… that… was… AWESOME!!!” She cheered, followed by doing a little dance. She stopped as Donald and Goofy stared. “Oh… uh, sorry for that… the dance and what I told you both… why are you here?”
1 Explanation later
“So, you were looking for me?” Flurry asked, very intrigued. Donald and Goofy nodded.
“They, too, have been seeking for the wielder of the Keyblade.” Leon’s voice spoke from right behind. Flurry turned to see him and Yuffie standing.
“Where the hay were you two!?”
“Sorry, we’ve been busy.” Yuffie answered, patting her head. “But you took that big baddie out! You’re so cute when you danced!” Flurry blushed.
“Hey, why don’t you come with us?” Goofy asked “We can go to other worlds on our vessel.”
“... I don’t know what to think of.” Flurry spoke. “One way, this is exciting, but… I hope my mom and Dad are okay… or if I can find them.”
“Of course!” Donald spoke. Flurry’s ears perked up.
“Are you sure?” Goofy whispered.
“Who knows? But we need her to come with us to help us find the king.” Leon took a step forward.
“Flurry, go with them.” He ordered. “Especially if you want to find your family.” Flurry’s ears went down.
“Not like I have much of a choice.” she moaned
“But you can’t come along looking like that.” Donald spoke, waving a finger at her. “Understand?” Goofy looked a bit confused. “No frowning. No sad face. Ok?” Goofy leaned in
“Yeah, ya gotta look funny, like us!” Goofy added before Donald pushed him out.
“This boat runs on happy faces.”
“... Happy?” Flurry asked. She cleared her throat and looked to the two, making her best silly face. A moment of awkward silence came, and she wasn’t sure if they found it funny. It was met with Donald and Goofy laughing hard.
“That’s one funny face!” Goofy laughed. Flurry smiled.
“Okay, why not? I’ll join you guys.”
“Donald Duck.” Donald Spoke, extending his hand out.
“Name’s Goofy.” Goofy did the same.
“And I’m Flurry Heart.” Flurry repeated, placing her hoof in the middle. “But Flurry will work.”
“All for one, one for all!”
“And you can’t forget about me!” Jiminey Cricket spoke, popping out from under Goofy’s hat and standing in the middle.
“AHH!!! BUG!!!” Flurry screamed.
In a shadowy place, a vision of the group was present. Around were some figures, all surrounded by darkness
“That little squirt took down that Heartless!?” One of the figures spoke in an upset, male voice. “Who’d have thought it!?”
“Such is the power of the Keyblade.” Another male spoke spoke, this one sounding calm. “The child’s strength is not her own.”
“Why don’t we turn her into a Heartless?” A female voice asked, this one sounding rather loud “That’ll settle things quick enough.”
“And the brat’s friends are the king’s lackeys!” Another male voice, this one with a Pirate accent. “Swoggle me eyes, they’re all bilge rats by the look of them.”
“You’re no prize yourself.” Another male voice spoke, sounding just as loud as the female’s, followed by a bellowing chuckle.
“Shut up!”
“Enough.” The leader of the group spoke, this one a woman wearing a royal looking black dress with a crowned hat and having dark green skin. “The Keyblade has chosen her. Will it be she who conquers the darkness? Or will the darkness swallow her? Either way, she could be quite useful…”
Flurry, Donald, and Goofy stood with Leon, Yuffie, and the woman Donald and Goofy were with, who’s real name is Aerith. Despite the jumps she had earlier, Flurry quickly understood that Jiminey wasn’t like other bugs, and, as a bit of repayment, she’s allowed her mane to be his area for the majority of the journey. Having a bug in her mane wasn’t on Flurry’s list of things she wanted to do, but Jiminey wasn’t bothering him, and she barely felt him in her mane.
“Make sure you’re prepared for the journey ahead of you.” Leon suggested “We don’t know how far the Heartless have spread.”
“Check some of the shops here.” Yuffie also suggested “They’ve got some pretty neat stuff!”
“This is from all of us.” Aerith spoke. Flurry got herself 100 munny. “Spend it as you see fit.”
“Good luck!”
“I hope you find your family.” Flurry smiled and wiped a tear from her face.
“You’re all so kind.” She spoke before turning to Leon. “... But not you.”
“Whatever.” Leon replied “Look out for each other. Keep your spirits up.”
“The Gummi ship is out of the gate.” Donald spoke as Flurry turned to him and Goofy.
“The what?” She asked
“That’s our ship.”
“Wait ‘til you see it!” Goofy added.
“Hold on! Flurry, this is for you.” Flurry took a tome from Donald. It evaportated and went into her horn.
“... What just happened?” Flurry asked
“Now you can use magic too!”
“Magic?” She then got an image of her using magic to defeat the Heartless along with saving her family… and becoming the princess of Equestria.
“Uh… Flurry?” Goofy asked, snapping to her. She shook her head.
“Sorry! Um… let’s get ready. But first, let’s go SHOPPING!!!”
