Finding out that all the ponies you served with are dead is a hard thing to deal with Good friends are never easy to lose can’t say i knew them all or was friends with everypony on the base that doesn’t mean I do not mourn their loss Cloud Striker.

As I came too I heard a triple beep signaling the revival process was complete I let out a grown first thing I did after opening my eye was to check on my suits systems everything seems to be in order I checked the time and date was surprised by what I saw according to the date it was roughly 200 years since we went to sleep I was set to be the first to be revived so I could oversee the revival process. I set about checking systems with the computer core I checked base status was surprised and saddened to find that a section collapsed taking the main pod location knocking out its primary power supply and backup power ran out. I staggered over to Storm Chaser’s pod checking the readouts she was fine I sighed in relief as i begin the waking process 10 minutes later Storm Wing was out of the pod and moving around I was at the console again double checking on the status and what sections where accessible there was some system degradation that was to be expected considering the time that passed though from what I could tell the Hanger and Armory was still intact we would need to check and see if we could possibly use anything in there My training included a crash course in field medicine. Basicly was a registered nurse and field medic the clinic is on the list of places to stop by we are going to need to stock up on medical supplies as well as ammo and food we performed maintenance on our Power Armor’s systems and weapons as well as putting all the spare ammo from our lockers into our armors storage system.

I now had over Three Thousand rounds of 7.0 mm armor piercing rounds the same for standard, One thousand 50 cal Armor Piercing rounds for my long range rifle and 20 standard missiles and 10 High explosive missiles 5 incendiary missiles and 5 spell matrix disruption my missiles my nova surge rifle was always had ammo provided my armor’s matrix was up we did open and secured the pipbucks to are left forelegs as mine and Storms armor was modified for it there was a moment of silence for our fallen comrades. After completing our checks and storing the locker's contents within our armored bags I lifted the lockdown on the stable so we made our way to medical wing the clinic was fully stocked with super restoration potions as well as healing potions and other medical potions Radaway and med x we adjusted our medical system to only apply medical petasus on serious or life threatening injury we didn’t need to go through our healing potions for every minor injury we sustained med x was to be manually toggled for injection. After leaving the Clinic we headed for the hanger to check on the tortoises if they were in good shape we could use one to move around a lot easier not to mention having its armaments would come in handy in a pinch from what I gathered out there it was going to be rough the armory was along the way so we made a stop to see what was salvageable if anything was surprisingly enough there was a lot that was I hooked myself to one of the supply wagons as we loaded weapons munitions for said weapons added another thousand rounds to my munitions for my 50 cal 500 each of the Ap and standard there was also HE rounds available I only took 100 rounds of them who knows we might find somepony out there who could use some the real prize in the armory was the two standard issue Steel Ranger grenade machinegun I have to admit i was drooling a bit at the sight of them the armor was an added bonus looked like it was passing through on the way to another base when the magaspells were launched.

The Power Armor might be useful hell the weapon alone make it worth adding them to the wagon we grabbed more missiles for are battle saddles our magazines were at max for missiles we did have our bladewings for close quarter combat as well as our tail spike although I disliked using it was not the easiest of weapons to use we looked into seeing if we could attach the grenade machinegun to our armor we could but it wasn’t set up for our systems would way us down in the end made for a good backup weapon should one of our weapons gets destroyed after all my minigun wasn’t standard issue heck Storm Wing has the nova surge rifles equipped along with the ones hers came with. I had to Laugh as looked at the supply cart “I swear if I didn’t know any better or this was happening 200 years ago I’d say we were loaded for bear here and would be able to take on a shit load of combatants or plan out labeled insane.” I said looking at my good friend Storm Chaser we decided to drop rank unless it was necessary to use our ranks and or call signs considering we were not revived by anypony I assumed there was no military left.

“I know CJ it’s still sad though all them lives lost because of a loss in structural integrity in only one section that knocked the primary power line to the stasis pods offline considering primary power is still on the room must of gotten severed the back up systems kicked in and revived them 17 years ago.” Storm replied.

“I know Storm I’m saddened too about that I’m sure if they were able to escape we would have been woken up as well.” I replied. “Anyway let’s check out the hanger see if anything is usable then we can check out the kitchens for the remaining provisions we need. It is nice that we have are Survival gear the tents alone will be nice from what I gathered it’s overcast out there so chances of rain are high if need be we can seek shelter in the tortoise if any of them survived because of that breach 17 years ago some of the systems started to fail but where salvageable if need be we can always make this our home we will of course need to clear and repair the damage so we can properly lay are fellow service ponies to rest.” I said I was able to determine after running power to the surveillance system in the room in question that they all died.

We arrived at the hanger and began to check out the equipment there finding that quite a few of the tortoises did indeed survive some did not but we were able to salvage components to fix and even improve one that we picked out increasing its range of travel the addition of the damaged tortoise spark generator to the one we chose it had a water talisman improved armor since we added armor to where we stored all the ammo there was even a mini cooling unit for drinks and such we started to offload all the ammo and other supplies we gathered up I went back to the armory to pick up a weapons rack for the tortoise so we can secure the weapons we have we even used the outer armor of the damaged tortoise to armor the wagon we both knew we would probably need to take it with us not everything was able to fit in the tortoise we set up the wagon to be toad behind the tortoise as well as being hooked up like normal we found a weight reduction talisman and a spare spark generator and worked it in on the wagon to lighten the extreme load we put on its axle it ran on spark packs so i went back and grabbed the charging unit that would work with the spark generator to recharge spark packs.

We were focused on our work fixing and improving the tortoise and supply wagon that we didn’t talk much we kept an eye on are EFS even though we were in a secure location not even the main Airguard new about it Me and Storm are or I should say were a part of the Special Operations of the MAW I know of a few spec ops base locations that none new about This base and its construction by Stable Tech was top secret no record of its construction was ever mentioned and its location was closely guarded unless you have been to this base nopony would know it was even here that was one of the first things I checked the Spark reactors where at 100% operational the concealed stable tech hangar doors a special version of the stable main door to allow ground Vehicles as well as the tortoises to leave and fly in we even had a prototype raptor airship but we would need to find the parts missing that we never got in was supposed to be my ship one reason me and Storm were stationed here by Rainbow Dash herself out of my former squadron only my wingmare qualified for the assignment so me and Storm were reassigned. Rainbow was proud of me i was one of the few who could pull off what she could mainly thanks to her helping me a lot she was my best friend a close personal friend and my Idol she was there when I got my cutie mark I know that she would not have given up or abandon equestria like the others if anything she would of fought against what they did I would of been right there with her to back her up if i wasn’t already at my post watching the finishing touches of my ship heck my crew is dead Storm is my first officer we got to know a few of the members of the crew the fact that I was given command of the MAW’s first reconnaissance heavy raptor and to my knowledge only raptor she would be fully operational if I had the last components for the Navigation system and the spell matrix for the weapon system nothing we have currently available would work for the weapons or navigation system.

We stopped for the night to so we decided to head for the Kitchen to get some food and gather and stock up on food we placed everything that Needed to go in the cooling unit would go in the unit and everything else will be put where it would be safe and not be damaged by everything else the supply cart was light enough that we would be able to fly it down even though it was a wheeled cart. I smiled at my friend “So what do you think we should do Storm we are on our own the crew is dead as is the engineers we don’t have what is needed to complete the raptor even if we did how would we fly her without a crew I suppose we could go out and look a crew might be somepony out there after all there were over a hundred stables completed so there are bound to be ponies out there plus I know there are pegasi out there Navaro was never hit after all you seen the last communications from Equestria command the Pegasi command declared themselves the Grand Pegasus Enclave no clue how this will affect us with us being the Only true Equestrian Airguard members left we do have a duty to equestria but what will we find out there? The Equestria we Know could very well be gone we will need to be proceed with caution and be weary of anypony or anything we meet until such time as we learn what is going on in Equestria these days we know that there is a chance that both Princesses are gone I do not want to believe it but that is a possibility if the Little Horn agent was used on Canterlot it is very possible that they are dead you and I both know what that stuff did to Luna’s school we saw the reports and pictures nothing could protect them. There was no protection from it barding and cloths were fused to the dead some even half melted into the floors or walls.” I said saddened by the memory of all those dead Foals.

“I agree CJ we might be all the is left of the Equestrian Military we have a duty to the survivors and descendants of the stable ponies we should make sure we are doing the wright thing too not helping somepony or ponies that are not doing wright by Equestria If we see Hostile contacts attacking non hostile contacts what do we do I want to know if we see what is happening or do we intervene and defend the ponies trying to protect themselves?” Storm asked in reply.

I gave her a hard look before replying “We defend and protect them we can not let ponies die because we wish to understand what is going on we can always ask what was going on afterwards we might be able to get info for our protection might even able to provide an escort if need be for the defended ponies to their destination if it is not to far away keep in mind the best way to gather info on current events is to scan local airwaves emergency frequencies and the channel that was used by the Pegasi do not transmit anything but we must gage the situation carefully before setting on a plan of action I may not like it but we need be careful out there we need eyes in the back of our heads at times keep eyes on the EFS do not ignore it for I will be doing the same we shall switch out every two hours or so on pulling the tortoise lucky we tied in the com system to our armors so we can communicate with whoever is pulling provided they have a com system. Speaking of com systems did you see any personal com units or did we not check that section yet?”

“We haven't checked yet Cloudy was on the list of things I wanted to find out if any were here we must keep the location of this place as secret as possible use only secure com lines and short range radio if need be whoever isn’t pulling scans the airwaves if you find something let me know and I’ll inform you as well we can’t keep things from each other we rely on each other we work as a team that we know we are can’t let each other down also we take watch turns whenever we stop for the night can not let our guard down even when we sleep that’s one way to end up in trouble and caught off guard Just a recommendation ma’am.” Storm Chaser replied.

I nodded in agreement “Yes I agree we all have to pull our weight we might not receive warm welcomes because we are pegasi but we must not lose hope that we can do some good out there and at least help those in need. Now let's get some sleep we have a long and probably tough day tomorrow.” I said. We both looked at each other with a nod and laid in the cots we pulled out set up proximity alerts and alarms to wake us up in the morning. “Good Night Stormy.” I said to my friend. “Good Night CJ.” she replied.
