Author's Notes:

Have fun~ (also go check out camila on youtube n devianart I used her picture because it was useful :D)

I hummed thoughtfully to myself as I looked up at the building simply labeled ‘lab’ in front of me. They had needed volunteers for an experiment involving some technology that was supposed to make it easier to do multiple things at once, and I had signed up purely out of curiosity at what it was.

I entered the building with my hands held together behind my back, strolling in in my dark grey trench coat, grey turtleneck, faded brown pants, so much so they almost looked grey themselves, brown boots on my feet.

Seeing a scientist, I quickly walked over to them, tapping their shoulder. “Excuse me, sir, I signed up for a ‘multitasking’ experiment.” I said.

The scientist turned to me and smiled “Why hello there, I assume you are the… er… Mr. G?” He then took out a clipboard that I saw had my picture and some details I had given from a survey required to enter the selection process. “Well, I see everything is in order, now please, follow me.”

“Of course.” I said, nodding in agreement. “You know, I was actually partially interested in this to further some of my own… personal, research.” I brought up as I followed the scientist through the building.

The scientist looked to me ecstatically “Well, if this turns out to work as planned, you will have a much easier time with your experiments!” he then led me to a chair with a strange headset next to it that had various machines and such that I had honestly never seen the likes of which before. He then pointed to the chair “It is recommended that you take a seat before we commence the trial. The equipment can be quite draining.”

“Alright.” I agreed, taking a seat and putting the headset on. “Now, how do I use this thing?”

The scientist flipped one of three switches, allowing a moderate amount of power into the headset “This headset is meant to safely grant you control over a set of seven hands using a new form of energy that we have discovered, we call it void energy, it is kind of like the opposite of reality, it takes the infinite possibilities and takes the energy from them, leaving the definites of that reality to be at full energy and granting greater stability to our dimension.”

“Interesting, do you mind if I have the notes for this after we’re done here?” I asked, intrigued. “I’d like to experiment with this ‘void energy’.” I requested.

The scientist looked to me uncomfortably “I am sorry, but the notes are classified, we still do not fully understand the applications of void energy yet, and it would be irresponsible of us to give anyone incomplete notes on a potential superpower exceeding nuclear energy.”

“I see… very well, then.” I said, shrugging. “Now, what’s next?”

The scientist smiled and gestured to what looked like a white metal hand on a table across the room “I want you to focus on the hand, and imagine it floating over to the clipboard in my hand, and taking it from me.”

“Alright.” I said. Staring at the hand, I concentrated, doing as the scientist said. The hand wobbled a little, before slowly floating up and over to the scientist, grabbing the clipboard and taking it out of his hand.

The scientist nodded and gently removed the clipboard from my robotic hand before writing down some notes “Now, I am going to bring out the other six hands, I want you to try to lift as many of them as possible, now mind you, we are not functioning at full capacity yet, so do not worry if the hands don’t all move.”

“Alright, I will do my best.” I said, nodding.

I then looked to the other hands as the scientist pulled them out, them also white. I focused on them, and it took pretty much all my concentration, but I was able to lift two or three into the air, but managed to get the rest to at least twitch. The scientist nodded before going to the second switch and flipping it, the hands now all moving much easier and with much less focus required, but there was a strange tingling sensation at the base of my skull. “Are there any adverse effects? No pain or numbness?”

“A strange tingling at the base of my skull, but ignorable.” I told the scientist, experimentally moving the hands in different, increasingly complex formations.

The scientist nodded and walked to the last switch “This will put us at full capacity, are you ready?”

“Yes.” I said, nodding.

The scientist flipped the switch, and everything went gray, then black.

???

“Where… am I?” I questioned silently to myself as I looked around the light gray room around me. “This appears to be some kind of… void… but like a room at the same time?” I mumbled to myself as I examined the area surrounding me.

Looking down, my eyes widened at what I saw. “Why am I goopy?!” I shouted in surprise. My body seemed to be replaced with this black… substance, the substance feeling like goop against my ‘skin’. I looked at my hands, and saw that they seemed to be… detached from the goo that surrounded my arms, almost like a too big shirt, a hole in their center.

I clutched my head suddenly, feeling like information was being poured into my skull just fast enough that I got it and was not damaged, but it was still very… uncomfortable, to say the least.

“This is strange…” I muttered, looking up and noticing a strange gray door. Curious, I… moved forward, knocking on the door. There was then a whooshing sound as I felt the room thud, as if landing somewhere, and I heard a voice on the other side of the door. “Hello? Can you hear me?”

The voice stopped before I heard loud footsteps on what sounded like wood. There was then a knock at the door “Hello? I’ve never seen this door before…”

“H-hello?” I called back, trying to open the door… but it refused to do so. “Could you perhaps let me out? I seem to be trapped.” The door opened, only to slam into my face “Gah, blast! That hurt!”

The woman gasped “Oh, I’m so sorry, here, let me try a spell.” There was a slam as the door closed and it was enveloped in a pink glow “There, now I’ll just open it the other way!” The door opened in the opposite direction and I saw… a purple equine?

I decided that this was not the strangest thing I had seen today, so I simply tried a gentle smile. “Thank you, small equine.” I said, putting a hand on the edge of the door and sliding out of the room. As I did, three lights came at me, entering me and making me pause as light overtook me.

When it had faded, I blinked in surprise, seeing that, while I still appeared to be completely white, with a red circle in my right and a light blue in the left, I was wearing the trenchcoat I had gone to the lab in, and the white clothes under it, though I seemed to still be a little… goopy, my hands detached a from my arms still, so I simply had my hands float next to me as my hands were at my sides.

The equine mare looked to me curiously “What are you? I have never seen anything like you before…”

“I am a skeleton BOSS monster.” I replied, deciding to roll with what the strange memories about my current form were telling me.

The mare's eyes widened “M-monster?! But those don’t ever leave the Everfree! What are you doing in my basement?!”

“If you could be bothered to think logically, you would remember I told you I was trapped.” I said, keeping my cool.

The mare seemed to grow calm and walked to the door, then ran out of it, screaming “There’s a monster in my basement!”

I sighed, face-palming. “This will likely be an annoyance later.” I mumbled as I went up the stairs, deciding to simply wait in the living room. I blinked when I saw it was a library that the mare, from the voice, lived in, deciding to do some information gathering.

As I read a book titled ‘Equestrian history’ I heard shouting outside right before a cyan pegasus with rainbow pigmentation in her rather messy hair flew in. “I’ll take care of him!”

The purple one from before also came in, but through a door like a normal person, instead of through an open window “Wait, Rainbow Dash! What if It is dangerous?!”

“Would you mind keeping it down, I’m reading.” I said, interrupting the two, not looking up from the book in my hands. Right as I flipped the page, I found a very… scandalous book... wedged inside it.

I frowned, picking up the book of socks and looking at the lavender equine with a deadpan look on my face. “Really?” I asked.

The mare blushed a deep crimson red before mumbling “I-it was for Dashie…”

Rainbow Dash looked confused a moment, then flew over to see what book I was holding and blushed “O-oh…”

Then four other females came running in, only to see the awkward situation, and for the Yellow one to say “O-oh… My…”

Pinkie then giggled “Wowie! This is a really weird thing to walk into.”

“It certainly is.” I agreed, bringing the mares attention to me.

The orange one looked to me and raised an eyebrow “What the hay are you supposed to be?”

“I am a skeletal boss monster.” I replied calmly. “Take note, ‘monster’ is just the name of my species, not how I act.” I added, as an afterthought.

The pink one then popped out of my goopy chest “This stuff is weird! It’s all goopy and black!”

“I would not go in that, pink equine, that is void you are touching, and if you are not careful, it will consume you.” I warned, looking rather bemused at this entire situation.

She went inside me and came out from behind me, not even a little bit of the goop on her. “Ok Wingie Dingie!” I raised what counted as an eyebrow for me, amused.

“So, what happens now?” I asked, unworried.

Twilight looked to me cautiously “I’m going to get Celestia, and she is going to say what we should do.”

A purple and green dragon then came out from behind Twilight and blew fire on a scroll that she seemed to have written, only for the ashes to fly away on the wind. “Intruiging.” I commented, looking at the flames until they left, taking a mental note to study a sample later.

“Anyways, what shall we do in the meantime?” I asked, going back to reading the book now that there were no sock books in it.

Just as I finished asking my question, I was covered from head to toe in a mountain of black, lacy socks. “WHY?!” I shouted in annoyance, shooting out of the top of the sock mountain, only for a second, sweatier sock mountain to fall on me, it’s weight and density even greater.

“DAMMIT!” I shouted, deciding to just teleport out of the darn thing. “Alright, now that I am out of the randomly appearing socks, when do you think this ‘Celestia’ will get here?”

Twilight paled as a fireball began coming straight for us from a castle on a mountain “I think very soon, and I’ve never seen her this mad…”

“I wonder why she seems so angry, I have never done anything to harm any equines in my lifetime.” I commented, calm despite the fireball coming towards the wooden house. “By the way, you might want to fireproof this place magically before she gets here.”

Twilight nodded and began sweeping a magical aura over the area as the fireball got closer and closer, me getting rather uncomfortable from the scalding heat. I decided to outwardly appear calm, however, not wanting to start a fight if I could help it.

Right as the heat became unbearable, I saw that the fireball had a large white pegasus with a unicorn horn, and by large, I mean large compared to the other equines, not compared to me.

When she landed, I took the chance to ‘stand’ and walk forward to introduce myself. “Hello, you must be Celestia.” I said, holding a hand out for her to shake.

Celestia swatted my hand away and growled “Don’t talk to me, creature! I know the humans may have died out, but you should still be in Mt. Ebott!” She grabbed me with her teeth and we teleported to the top of a mountain, a whole to its innards right in front of us before she threw me in and I fell towards it.

I did not allow this, simply teleporting onto the land. “Why are you mad at monsters? We have done nothing to your kind, or the humans for that matter.” I asked, narrowing my sockets at her.

Celestia frowned and unfurled her wings “Your kind would consume the souls of my ponies to become gods. I cannot allow such barbaric creatures to live amongst my little ponies.”

“Excuse me, but have you actually met any monsters?” I asked, raising my equivalent of an eyebrow at her. “Monsters are literally made positive emotions and magic, it’s hard for one to hold a grudge, let alone want to commit genocide for power.”

Celestia nodded “But Monsters are also made of magic, which ponies need to SURVIVE.”

“I have been around those six ponies for over an hour before you got to me, in that time I could have killed them, absorbed their SOULs, and killed some random other to become a GOD if I had so desired, yet I did not.” I said. “Because monsters are simply not like that.”

Celestia sighed “I know that, but you misunderstand, I am saying that if the monster population were to grow, the magic we ponies need to survive would dwindle, until WE died out, your population is kept at a constant there, due to the resets of Mt. Ebott.”

“That is absurd.” I said, frowning. “The world would adapt to the very slow and slight strain of monsters using its magic to grow again, there would be enough for us and your ponies to survive, if anything we’d end up with more.”

Celestia looked confused “But… the humans told me… those fiends! Okay, Sir Gaster, you have my support, I give you my royal blessing to-” Just then, a black shark tooth necklace collided with my face. “What is that?”

“Just an artifact from the void.” I said dismissively, pocketing it. “Now, about breaking the Barrier, I have an idea.”

Celestia nodded “If I can help, then I will do all in my power.”

“Go and bring me the six ponies I talked to earlier.” I requested. “I will need their assistance in breaking the barrier keeping the monsters in.”

Celestia nodded and teleported away, bringing the six mares to my side about ten minutes later. “Okay, I brought them, and I explained the situation, what can we do to help?”

“Just wait a minute.” I said, bringing the black tooth out. “I call upon the slender man to help the man who speaks in hands!” I said, holding the tooth up.

Just then a man in a trench coat with bloody bandages on his hands, armed with a sword made from serrated scythe blades appeared behind me “Who calls upon the tall prince?”

“I do.” I said, ‘walking’ into his view. “I wanted to know if you would not mind assisting me in the breaking of a certain barrier.”

He thought a moment “If I get to meet Alphys and Undyne, sure. If not, still sure, but I’d be a little sad.”

“That is perfectly arrangeable.” I said, nodding. “Now, I will reveal all of your SOULs, please move them into the appropriately colored hands.” I requested, bringing the six small equines and the Slender-sapiens SOULs as I summoned the other five hands of mine.

The Slender-sapien smiled at the six mares, slightly unnerving them. “I am Greg, by the way. King of the Deer empire.”

“A fair warning.” I called out. “You may feel a little tired after this… hmmm there seems to be more energy here than I thought.” I commented, getting an idea. “If you don’t mind, I would like to restore myself to reality before we do this, we have enough energy to accomplish both acts today.”

The slender-sapien nodded, his soul crackling slightly with TV static “Oh, and I’d be careful with that aura, it’s anti-magic, dangerous stuff for monsters.”

“Good thing that extra hand is a machine then.” I replied calmly. I waited until they all had a SOUL hovering above one of my hands, before I started absorbing the power from it.

As this happened, I glowed, feeling myself become… whole, again.

“Ah, much better.” I said with a smile. “Now, onto business.” I said, putting a neutral look on my face.

I summoned a large blaster of mine in front of me, it charging a rainbow-colored light that shot forwards, smashing into and destroying the barrier. I removed my hands from the SOULs and allowed the SOULs to their rightful owners, slipping something into me when nobody was looking.

Greg smiled and gestured to the broken barrier “I think I will greet the king, my kingdom could use diplomatic ties with yet another dimension.” he then disappeared, not teleported, there was no energy consumed, it was as if he stopped existing in the blink of an eye, yet I sensed him a few miles away, in what I assume was the king's throne room.

“I will go and get the monsters prepared for their re-surfacing.” I said, turning to the hole. “Celestia, I suggest you take these six and go do the same for the ponies.”

Greg

I appeared in the king's throne room, standing behind Asgore silently and clearing my throat “Excuse me, your highness, I would wish to speak to you.”

“Just a moment.” Asgore said. “I am watering these flowers.”

I smiled “Oh, I do love buttercups, they are quite beautiful, unlike my new body, which most would call repulsive.” I laughed “I do hope my appearance does not disturb you, your majesty.”

“Why would it do that?” He asked, turning around, not seeming shocked at all at my appearance.

I smiled “Most consider me frightening, upon first meeting me. Either that, or they see my soul and call me a horrid abomination, for my aura is… quite dangerous to any that I wish harm to. No worries for your people or you though, I am not a brute, unlike some would believe... after all, fellow rulers have to stick together, yes?”

“Agreed.” He said, smiling. “Would you like some tea?” He asked.

I nodded “I do adore tea, as long as it is made without caffeine, that stuff makes me even more excitable than my brother, Bob, and he is a chaos being.”

“I would imagine that is rather excitable.” Asgore agreed, walking out of the room with me following. He lead me to NEW HOME, before stopping at the living room.

“Wait here just a moment.” He said, disappearing into the kitchen.

POV Switch

W.D. Gaster.

I floated down the hole, the Princess having taken my suggestion. I felt a strong source of DETERMINATION stirring under me, telling me Frisk was just waking up.

“Good morning, Frisk.” I said in amusement, standing next to her.

Frisk looked to me in shock “Y-you? But I haven’t entered a Gaster timeline…”

“I have been restored to my former glory by the wonderful new occupants of the surface world.” I explained calmly and with a smile. “Now, I believe you wanted to save the prince, correct?”

Frisk nodded desperately “I have tried everything I could think of, short of giving him my soul, but… he refused to take it from me… What should I do, Gaster? I don’t want him to be alone anymore…”

“Don’t worry, little one.” I said with a gentle smile, reaching my hand out, the red one, making what I slipped earlier appear… a red SOUL. “I have that covered, all we need to do now is get to the other end of the underground for the other six, and we can restore the prince.”

Frisk leapt at me and gave me a tight hug “Oh thank you so much!” She then gasped “Oh, Sans and Papyrus will be so happy to see you!”

“We must not keep them waiting then.” I said, reabsorbing the SOUL, holding her with one arm. “Shall we do a ‘speed run’?”

Frisk looked doubtful “Umm… do you think… we could convince Toriel to come with us? I don’t want to make her sad, if we tell her what has happened, she might just come with us!”

“That is a wonderful idea Frisk.” I said, smiling. “Let’s go bring the prince in on this plan, shall we? We need to make sure he’s there to be saved, after all.”

Frisk nodded sadly “If… if he even comes… he’s been ignoring me lately, except for where he absolutely has to talk to me for the resets to function properly…”

“Why is that?” I asked as I carried her towards the doorway.

She sniffled “I think Flowey still holds part of Asriel in there… and Asriel got mad at me for offering him my soul… but everyone would be so much happier with him than me… and… I don’t deserve to be happy… I listened to Chara…”

“Frisk.” I said firmly, giving her a disappointed look. “Never talk about yourself like that again, everyone makes mistakes… and besides, all your RESETting has actually been of benefit, the new beings on the surface are a little… skittish, but much more understanding of different beings.”

She looked to me sadly “I know… I saw that the village I was in fell, I saw the new villages come up, and the trains… I knew that something not human had made them… I don’t know how I feel about being the last Human…”

“Think of it this way, Frisk.” I said. “There are no more bigoted humans to threaten the monster race.”

She smiled “I’d be happy to tell Sans I was done Resetting… maybe he’d actually smile at me again… everyone who remembers the resets is so mad at me, because I refuse to let Asriel keep on like this, it… it’s just not right!”

“Do not worry, if you want I will destroy your RESET button after this in a way that will still let you LOAD things on the surface… just in case.” I said. “Now, let’s go save some monsters.” I added, entering Floweys ‘meeting’ room.

Flowey came up and looked at Frisk before huffing, about to leave before he saw me “Hey, wait… you don’t belong here.” He crossed his leaves “What’s happening here, Frisk? I thought smiley trashbags dad was lost to the void in the Omega Timeline.”

“There are new occupants on the surface that have provided me assistance in returning to my former self, prince.” I said. “With their help I have the key to restoring you to yourself and stopping the resets… permanently.”

Flowey raised an eye petal “Really? Huh… and here I thought that I’d have to steal Frisks determination to stop the Resets, now something new happens.”

“That is not necessary.” I said. “Now, if you would please go wait by your father for us to get there, we should be there soon.”

Flowey nodded “Don’t have to tell me twice, tired of getting blasted.” He then disappeared beneath the ground as Toriel came through the doorway.

“Hello, Toriel.” I greeted, smiling.

Toriel gasped “D-Dr. Gaster?! I thought you had died?”

Frisk smiled “The surface has changed! They brought him back and sent him here to break the barrier!”

Toriel looked to me suspiciously “You have seven human souls?”

“No.” I said, shaking my head. “But I know that your… husband has six, and I have a single one that was given.”

Toriel winced at the mentioning of Asgore, as if even mentioning they had been an item had hurt her or made her physically ill, then nodded slowly “And… why is this child with you?”

Frisk quickly came up with a story “I’m the last human, I want to see my people's sins undone.”

“Yes, there are no more humans on this surface.” I agreed, not missing a beat. “It has been taken over by equines, surprisingly.”

Toriel looked surprised “Huh, well, at least it’s not snails, I’d have to change my diet completely.”

Frisk smiled “I love escargot and snail pie, personally, it would be a massive change as well.”

Toriel then smiled “Well, let’s go see… him, then, we’ll have to go through Snowdin, Waterfall and Hotland, I swear, he never gets any better at naming things…”

“Well, I think I could teleport us all to at least Snowdin.” I said. “Besides, I need to see my sons again.”

Toriel nodded “And I would love to meet that hilarious sentry who I have been sharing puns with.”

I smirked, but said nothing, simply putting a hand on her shoulder and teleporting us all to just outside the RUINs entrance.
