Chapter 3: That one pony
Previous Chapter Next ChapterAs poor Twilight was forced through the iron double doors of the asylum, which were chained, bolted, and guarded, she looked down two long hallways filled with even more iron doors, all which restrained at least 30 mental mares and stallions. As the paranoid unicorn was led up one of the two side flights of concrete stairs, the stallions who had been escorting her left and she was taken by a burly guard wearing shades. He was holding a white strait jacket, which completely shocked Twilight. She cackled and screamed and twitched all in once while he forced her arms and torso into the strait jacket. After much struggling and giggles of insanity, the guard flung her into a cell and bolted the iron door. Well, on the outside it was iron. Here, it was a fluffy cloud of a door. So was the rest of the room, covered in white bouncy pillow-like material. Twilight let her legs collapse and she nearly landed on her neck from the rebound. Instead, her horn got jammed into the pillow. As she struggled to tear it out, her eyes went small again and she laughed like a maniac. She yanked her horn out of the hole in the floor and stared down. The unicorn was now looking through the roof of another pony’s cloud-like cell. Inside, there was a sky blue unicorn with a white mane and tail, with just the slightest bit of green intertwined in the hairs. The also strait-jacket bearing unicorn looked around, them up. The two stared at each other, both twitchy and mental ponies who knew they wanted to get out, somewhere, deep down inside of them. “H-hi…” The pony stammered. “I’m Bellastage, or as many call me, the Stage Master. They told me I acted too real when they brought me here. Once I brought my own props in for a play. A real knife, gun...you get the idea. I went mad with ‘em. Well, let’s just say that that was the last time I ever saw the stage again…” Twilight wasn’t as good with her introduction. “H-HI, I’MTWILIGHT, IW-WENTTOMAAAAGICKINDERG-GARTENANDTERRIFIEDKIDSANDTORMENTEDPEOPLEANDFRIIIENDSHIP” Bella looked confused. “You went to Magic Kindergarten—“ “YEAHIDID” “And now you’re here because you scared the lights out of little foals…that it?” “YEP!” Twilight jammed her words together into long, run-on sentences, sounded much more like she needed to be in the asylum than Bella did. “WELLANYWA-“ The purple unicorn flipped onto her back and began to freak out. Her brain pulsed underneath the bandaged wound. She still continued to mutter strings of words. With each word, her horn glowed with black magic. “And now…I…” BOOM! Her horn exploded with lethal black magic, overpowered from her fit. The walls of her asylum exploded, creating a crater between her floor and Bella’s roof. With some energy left, Twilight and her new friend pushed their horns against the wall. The wall Twilight was on immediately disintegrated into gliding chunks of metal, concrete, and cloth, and the two unicorns dashed out the double doors and past the guards on their rear legs, still as fast as on all four hooves. The strait jackets did create a sort of disadvantage to what they could climb and leap over, if they ever needed to. Bella screamed at Twilight “I know a spell that will give us temporary wings! Hold on!” Twilight yelled back at her “We don’t have a moment! I know a better spell, and get a move on!” As the friends dashed behind a truck, much like the one she had been in about an hour ago, the purple pony’s horn glowed again, but this time with white magic. “Ok, since I’m still –twitch- considered DEMENTED and –Magic…kindergarten!- DANGEROUS –and still a Kindergartener-, this spell might not—“ Another flash, and Bella became a doll, with sewn-on body parts, buttons for eyes, and the creepiest smile. The still living pony shrieked as another flash blinded her. Now she was a doll, too! I can hear you. A sudden voice sounded in Doll Sparkle’s head. She sensed it was coming from Bella Doll, but her voice was a distorted, shadowy, and echoing disturbing whisper. I hear you too. The unicorn doll replied. They heard a small mob of guards, and in a matter of seconds the mob had swarmed the back of the truck. One guard, possibly the head of the security team said to the others “Huh? What are these things…dolls…doing around here?” Hello. “What…was that…” Knowing by the looks on their faces, the others had heard it too. I hear you. Everypony was silent. You hear me too, I know that. They all started backing away from the dolls. Don’t leave us. The group stopped and cowered, unable to move against their fear. “Are…these…her’s?” A tall blue and black pony whispered to his gray neighbor. Who’s? “Rare…Rarity…” Take us to her. “Yes…” The two ponies picked up the dolls. The color drained from their clothes and their fur and their eyes faded to a black shadow. Like zombies, they walked stiff-legged towards the two doors, breaking through the barrier of the others, who’s mouths were agape. As the ponies stumbled through the door and trudged down the hallway, Bella Doll’s stuffed head fell to the side. Her button eyeballs stared lifelessly at the tiny barred windows in the locked doors. Blurred Equestrians sat in different cells: The typical cloud-like fluffy cell that Living Twilight was in previously, bright and cheery tiny dungeon cells that had a single pony chained to various parts of the wall, some even chained to the wall by their shackled hooves. There was your typical jail domain also, with a single bunk held up by wires and a small room with a toilet too small to drown yourself in, if you tried to. Some ponies were in magical replicas of their homes, or at least the few that were still a bit sane. Bella Doll thought she saw a yellow pegasus in a forest feeding carrots to holographic animals. A few of the doors only had a single, miniature window and were layered with bolts, locks, and bars. Within those few were cries of death threats, growling, sobbing, and your average but a bit loud scream, made by ponies that had chains connecting to all of the thin fluffy dark walls around them. As the two stallions halted in front of a door and unbolted them, they began to regain color from their hooves up. Half color regained, the gray pony tossed Twilight Doll into a cell. Three fourths of his color regained, the blue and black pony deposited the other stuffed mare into the cell. That, for all the corrupted guards knew, could be the last they saw of those dolls with the pony inside.
