Princess Celestia looked down on Twilight Sparkle, her choice of what to do with Twilight resting in her hooves. Since Twilight had been tardy with a friendship letter, and caused the entire town to go on a wild rampage after a ragdoll, Celestia had to chose whether to punish her or release her from her custody. Looking straight at her student, she spoke.“I’m afraid you’ll have to return to Magic Kindergarten, Twilight.” The very words that ended Twilight’s social and mental life clung to her brain in horror. No, this couldn’t be happening! Magic Kindergarten was the one and only place that Twilight feared. Why send her back there, knowing she loathed the place?! As this wicked and endless stream of thoughts terrorized the purple unicorn, who was now holding her hooves above her head on the floor, Princess Celestia, the very alicorn who uttered those words, gently brought her delicate white horn down upon Twilight’s forehead. In a flash, the unicorn was traveling through space, surrounded by a bright light that meant only one thing.

She was going back to Magic Kindergarten against her will, and nopony could stop her. Not even the one who sent her here, the Princess herself.

As Twilight lifted her hooves off of her head, she looked up at the small red building in front of her. It looked like a farm house, only it had two homely doors and a bell on top. She could make out a long rectangular plaque above the two brown doors in the dim moonlight, which read, to her horror, “Magic Kindergarten”. The unicorn fainted with a sigh, her head smacking a dirt mound.

When the purple pony awoke, an orange dawn sun was rising on the horizon, and she could make out a teacher arranging the classroom inside. She yawned and sat up, instantly feeling the plush bean bag she had been sleeping on and the ice bag on her head. The red, blonde, and obviously over-happy unicorn teacher looked over at her as she drew a picture of a unicorn on the chalkboard. The teacher smiled. “Hello, my name is Miss Amy! I’m the teacher here in Magic Kindergarten, and I’ll help you get started with magic!” The words ‘Magic Kindergarten’ made the sore unicorn on the bean bag feel dizzy and depressed as a wave of shock, confusion, and insanity swept over her. Miss Amy suddenly realized that Twilight both had her cutie mark and was definitely not a filly. The teacher stopped smiling as happily as she did and looked at the confused pony. “Um, Miss—““Twilight. My name is Twilight.” “Miss Twilight, what are you doing here in Magic Kindergarten? You’re not a filly.” “I’ve…I’ve come here to….” Twilight coughed and her eyes filled with dry tears. “To be…a new –cough- student…here…” The unicorn took the ice bag off her head and lifted herself off of the bean bag. She looked over at the apple-shaped clock, with nearly pointed to 9 o’ clock. School was about to begin! “Oh, yes dear! Come stand over by me!” Miss Amy gently tapped her hoof next to her, motioning for the other unicorn to stand by her. As Twilight examined her surroundings, she noticed the eight small desks, each with two desks in the row, split down the middle so that there were four desks on one side, four on the other. There were two large tables at the back of the classroom, each with four chairs. Where the pony had been unconscious were three colorful bean bag chairs, a bookshelf with short stories filling the three shelves, and a small circular rug underneath it all, with an image of fillies playing in a grassy playground sewn into it. The teacher’s desk was near the door, with quite a few apples stacked on it, some books, and a little chair. Rrring! The school bell rung and Twilight could see fillies lining up near the door through the window. They chatted jubilantly as they waited outside, and the unicorn’s teeth chattered. “Ooh, here come the children! I’ll get the door!”
