Nurarihyon, Nekokiyo, and Inumaro all stared down at Kin and Gin with the intent to kill. They all cracked their knuckles and brandished their claws and tentacles at them, ready to make their attacks. After hearing the tales of how the two Time Witches had allied themselves with Dame Dedtime and caused many atrocities to all kinds of Yo-kai, they were ready to finally put an end to the both of them.

"There is nowhere to run, Kin and Gin." Nurarihyon licked his lips sadistically. "Tonight, you will both die just as your snivelling mistress did many years ago."

"You even sound like a Dark Yo-kai does as well." Kin smirked and floated over to Nurarihyon. "After nearly usurping the throne and attacking innocent Yo-kai, you still decide to fight for Queen Ephemer's side? Just how complex is that little pea-brain of yours, Nurarihyon?" She flicked his forehead and flew back to Gin's side.

"What good is the queen's right hand Yo-kai, when he is nothing more than a creature of the darkness, punished for his crimes?" Gin added. "I'm surprised that Lord Enma didn't have you executed for the pain and suffering you inflicted on others."

"That's enough!" Inumaro lunged at Kin and Gin and pinned them down in a cat-like fashion. "Lord Nurarihyon's crimes were horrible, we admit, but even so, he is not charged with mass manipulation of humanity, stripping them of their free wills, and almost destroying the earth as a whole! Dame Dedtime deserved to die for her perverted fantasies!"

"Ahh, Inumaro. Still playing with minds I see." Kin chuckled and slipped out of his grasp. "Funny, really. We used to look up to you and Nekokiyo long before Dame Dedtime even existed. We absolutely adored how you mentally broke down your opponents and physically shredded them after that."

"In fact, we would even be asking for an autograph if King Void wasn't around to cause mayhem, but that's the way that life goes, I'm afraid." Gin shook her head. "Shame. Your work in combat was nothing short of the best, being parnered with Nekokiyo and Nurarihyon like that. You three made the ultimate team. A team of monsters, to be respected and feared equally by the Yo-kai and human species."

"Just like the Time Witches to work their black tongues around us." Inumaro waltzed back to Nurarihyon's side. "From what I heard, you two had quite a large vocabulary, and showed much more sophistication and class than that of your feeble mistress. Why weren't you and your feeble brother ruling the Wicked instead of that child-minded monster?"

"Don't you dare bring Bronzlow into this!" Kin snarled.

"Such is the way of Yo-kai." Nekokiyo cracked his knuckles, slobbering everywhere like a mad dog. "The weak are purged and the strong survive. Your brother couldn't keep up, and was erased long before you pledged yourselves to the late Dame Dedtime." He bent his knees and gnashed his teeth. "But don't worry. The three of us will personally send you back to both of them, screaming out in anguish as you forever join the afterlife!"

Kin, eyebrows twitching from Nekokiyo's provocation, hissed and conjured a golden stream of magic with black lightning shooting out of her body. "That's it! Let's go, Gin!"

"Finally." Gin had her own stream of silver energy flowing between her hands as the same black lightning blasted out of her body. "I was worried that we would be talking these fools down."

"When I bring your heads back to Queen Ephemer, we'll have crushed a key piece of King Void's army." Nurarihyon's tentacles began waving around wildly as his brows lowered. He stretched his arm out and flexed his fingers towards his face, taunting Kin and Gin into attacking. "Now, fight us, Time Witches!"

Kin and Gin let out a roar as they both charged towards the three Yo-kai like meteors. Inumaro, Nekokiyo, and Nurarihyon responded in kind by running towards the two of them, ready to attack. As they did, they didn't even notice that the clouds began to gather above them and create a thunderstorm.

In Equestria, Twilight Sparkle and her friends were all boarding a boat destined for the seas. They were all hoisting luggage on their backs and talking to each other as they climbed up the plank and onto the deck. Whisper and Jibanyan followed closely behind them all, with some suitcases of their own.

"Ah, this feels nice." Rarity sighed as the ocean wind hit her neck and blew her mane out. "Nothing quite like a trip on the ocean to get away from all of the stresses and troubles of a Yo-kai overrun Ponyville, huh?"

"I agree, Rarity." Twilight nodded and rubbed her hoof over her Yo-kai Watch. "After everything that's happened to us recently, I feel like we all deserve some rest and relaxation."

"Nyeah! I even brought something to keep me entertained on this little trip of yours!" Jibanyan opened his suitcase, causing chocobars to spill out onto the deck. "Now, I'm ready for some fun in the sun, Twilight!"

"Of course you'd bring chocobars, Jibanyan." Twilight chuckled and petted his head, while helping him clean up the mess. "But it's nothing compared to a little bit of light reading on the side."

"Now, now, you two." Whisper put his hands on both of their shoulders. "We're not here to compare what we like. We're here to relax and take our mind off of this whole King Void nonsense."

"Say, Whisper." Applejack walked up to him. "If there are Yo-kai everywhere, then don't that mean that there's gonna be Yo-kai that live in the sea?"

"It's very true, Applejack. There are such Yo-kai that have lived in the oceans." He pulled out his Yo-kai Pad and scrolled through all of the different Yo-kai stored on it. "Such Yo-kai can resemble fish, sharks, mermaids, or all sorts of marine life. But they usually live under the ocean and don't inspirit anyone unless they get close to them."

"So, we shouldn't be bothered by them?" Applejack tilted her head.

"I absolutely, one-hundred percent, swear on my great mother's life that there will be no Yo-kai interrupting out pleasure cruise, Applejack." He puffed out his chest and put his fist onto it, trying to perform his version of a salute. "And if you're not satisfied with this promise, you may feel free to whack me across the face with whatever you please."

"Let's just be honest." Jibanyan pulled the giant fan out of his suitcase. "We all knyow where this is going to end, right, Whisper?"

"Uhh... I-I-I, l-let's not be too hasty, Jibanyan." Whisper began to sweat and tucked the fan back into the suitcase. "Let's just enjoy the sights and smells of the ocean for now. Fish drifting through the air, seagulls chirping as we glide across the rolling waves, and many different lands to explore. What's not to like?"

"What's the betting that there's gonna be a new Yo-kai causing chaos?" Twilight walked down the deck towards a bench.

Everyone else murmured in agreement but followed Twilight across the ship with Whisper and Jibanyan closely behind them all. Despite everything that had happened between them and the Yo-kai in Ponyville, they all wanted to just spend some time off and relax.

As the boat blasted its' horn and left the shore, a large Yo-kai appeared on the pier. It was wearing purple robes with blue wave patterns on it, had black shoes with tight buckles, wore a golden mask that covered most of its' face, and was carrying a conductor's stick. The Yo-kai watched the boat get farther and farther away before it put its' hands together and somersaulted into the ocean. As he leapt, his feet transformed into fins and gills appeared on his face. He made a colossal splash that the entire pier was drenched in water as he swam after the ship.

Twilight sighed and squirted some suncream on her body as she reclined on a deckchair, looking up at the sky above. She took some sunglasses on the table beside her and slipped them onto her face as she lowered her hooves down to her sides.

"Gotta say, you really know how to chillax, Twilight." Rainbow Dash—who was sitting on her own deckchair—turned to face Twilight and took a sip of a cocktail with an umbrella poking out of the top.

"Hey. As long as there aren't any Yo-kai interrupting our trip, then everything's going to be just fine." Twilight nodded and looked towards Rainbow Dash. "There last thing that we need after all of that crazy stuff in Ponyville and the other world is some more Yo-kai or Dark Yo-kai messing everything up."

"I completely agree." Rarity walked up to the girls. "Some rest and relaxation should do us wonders after how hectic everything else has been recently."

"Yeah, but what's the betting that there's gonna be another Yo-kai that's just gonna be a big meanie pants and ruin everything?" Pinkie Pie asked.

"Speaking of Yo-kai, did you girls know that there are some that can adapt to both water and land?" Whisper pulled out his Yo-kai Pad and leaned back onto Twilight's deckchair, scrolling through the information that it had accrued. "Things like Chummer and Shrook can go on land for elongated periods of time without needing to go back to the water, most likely due to their bipedal bodies."

"That's nice, Whisper." Twilight yawned and turned away as he continued to read.

"In fact, there are even some Yo-kai that can change form depending on whether or not they're in the water or on land. This not only helps them to adapt to the new landscapes, but also to widen their range of inspiriting powers." Whisper read so much that he could barely see anything else in his view other than the Yo-kai Pad.

"Interesting." Twilight yawned lightly and curled her legs up.

"ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME?!" Whisper snapped his head and saw that Twilight was pretending to be asleep. "I'M YOUR BUTLER FOR ENMA'S SAKE!"

"Please, Whisper. Just don't try to talk to me about Yo-kai at the moment." She gently turned to look back at him. "No more. We're just trying to take it easy. So if you could just reduce the Yo-kai talk to zero, then everything would be great."

"Harrumph! You're just like a child." Whisper turned away, lowered his brows, and crossed his arms. "Whenever they're on vacation, they don't even want to study for when they have to go back to school..."

"C'mon, Whisper. We're still just regular ponies." Rainbow Dash got up and wrapped her hoof around Whisper's shoulders. "You can't expect us to just be like those comic book heroes who just swoop to the rescue whenever somepony says—"

"HELP! HELP!"

The girls all shot to their feet when they heard the voice and ran over to the edge of the ship. They initially thought that someone had fallen off of the boat and was about to meet a grim and watery demise, and Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy were already airborne and close to the water. But when they all got to the ship side, they found absolutely nothing.

"Oh no. Are we too late?" Twilight asked, frantically searching the ocean for the person who had called for help.

"Well, I'm not seeing any stranded ponies anywhere, but there's definitely someone in the water asking for help." Whisper looked down at the crashing water beneath him. "Mayhaps a quick glance with the Yo-kai Watch is in order, Twilight?"

"Ugh! And here I thought we were getting away from the Yo-kai-related nonsense..." Twilight grumbled under her breath and shone the light of the Yo-kai Lens down on the water.

When Twilight was pointing in the correct place, a blast of purple smoke revealed the Yo-kai that had signalled for help. There in the water was a humanoid Yo-kai with black hair tied up in a bun with sidelocks hanging down her ears. She had a red fin on the top of her head, a pair of arms, bright blue eyes, and a white veil that was wrapped around her wrists and her hair.

"Oh, thank Enma that someone answered my calls!" She looked up at Twilight and her friends. "I thought that no-one would come and save us..."

"Who are you?" Twilight asked from the top of the ship.

"My name is Mermaidyn." She leapt up towards the group of ponies, revealing that she was wearing a seashell on her chest and had a long red tail where her feet should have been. She landed back in the ocean with a splash and unintentionally covered Rainbow Dash in water. "I'm a mermaid Yo-kai that lives far beneath the sea."

"There are Yo-kai mermaids?!" Twilight sprung off of the deck and flew up to Mermaidyn's face with a wide smile on her own.

"Uhh... Yeah?" Mermaidyn slowly backed up from Twilight.

It was at that time that Twilight had realised how close she was to Mermaidyn. Slowly, she backed up and gave her some breathing room. "I'm sorry. You were asking for help, right? Well, what's wrong?"

"Well, I'd be glad to tell you, but it's a problem that exists deep below the water." Mermaidyn pointed down to the water. "Unless you can swim or use some water-breathing spell or something, I don't think that you can do much."

"Actually, I think I know exactly what we can do." Twilight looked back at her friends. "You girls ready for this?"

"Ready for what?" Pinkie tilted her head and raised a brow.

"For this." Twilight closed her eyes and levitated her friends above the water.

"Twilight! Whatever are you doing?!" Rarity gasped as her hooves left the ship as she and her friends got closer to the water.

Twilight then fired five separate beams at her friends before shooting one more at Mermaidyn. She opened her eyes and looked skyward as a massive blast of light engulfed them all.

Each of the Main Six began to slowly transform, with their front hooves transforming into arms with five fingers on each hand. Their tails disappeared and their back hooves changed into mermaid tails that matched the colours of their hair. Fins appeared on their heads along with gills on the side of their necks as the same veils that Mermaidyn wore now appeared on the girls. Finally, their faces contorted into that of human faces as they all broke through the water, with seashells materialising on their new chests as well.

"Whoa..." Rainbow Dash looked at her new body with awe. She flexed her fingers and gave her tail a flap as she looked at the rest of the Main Six. "We're all mermaids!"

"This is simply amazing!" Fluttershy swam down and watched as a school of fish swam around her and blew her hair up.

"How is that even possible?" Mermaidyn swam up to the girls and felt their newly acquired arms and legs. "You were all just talking horses a second ago!"

"That's all thanks to one of my many spells." Twilight brushed her chest with the back of her hand. "The first time I used it, we flew a flight of Breezies back home. I simply need a template and boom! We can all turn into whatever I please."

"So, now can you help me?" Mermaidyn's smile grew wider than before.

"Yes. Yes we can, Mermaidyn." Twilight nodded and swam up to her. "Anything to help out a Yo-kai in need."

"Wonderful!" Mermaidyn swam upwards and flew out of the water once more, landing with a somersault as she came back to the group. She swam down towards the floor, using her arm to motion the girls into following her.

Twilight and her friends all swam down away from the cruise ship and into the deeper parts of the water. Normally, they would've drowned, but with their newfound gills, they didn't feel like they needed to come up for air at all as they descended deeper and deeper into the water, leaving the surface world behind them as they got used to their new fins and arms.

Whisper and Jibanyan were back on the cruise ship, looking down at the water. They waited for Twilight and her friends to resurface but didn't see them anywhere.

"So..." Jibanyan pulled his head from the rails. "Do you think they're coming back, Whisper?"

"Beats me." Whisper shrugged and looked down at the water. "I'd love to check on them and all, but unfortunately, I'm more of an air-breather myself."

"You're just saying that because you're scared." Jibanyan shook his head.

"I am not scared!" Whisper lurched towards Jibanyan. "I just... happen to be rusty at swimming, that's all."

"Admit it, Whisper. You can't breathe under there." Jibanyan deadpanned. "You'll just drown and go back to the Yo-kai World, wringing yourself out as you try to keep up with the girls."

"Well, if you're so confident, then why don't you go down there and check on them?!" He barked.

"Cats don't like getting wet." Jibanyan shuffled back to the deckchair and scoffed down another chocobar. "If you wanna swim down there and prove that you're not a scaredy-ghost, then be my guest, Whisper." He pulled out a magazine from his belt showing girls dressed up with cat ears and paw-shaped gloves. He opened it up and perused the content inside. "I'll just be here, reading one of my Next HarMEOWny fanzines if you need me..."

Whisper let out an exasperated huff and floated away. "Honestly, Jibanyan, I don't know how these humans put up with you sometimes..."
