Chapter 38: Doom and Tengloom/Sweaty Play

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

Author's Notes:

I have returned! After such a long while of waiting, a new chapter of my Yo-kai Watch Crossover is out! I wish I could've gotten back to this story more, but with college eating away at my time and many other things, I didn't have as much free time on my hands as I would've liked.

I've more been waiting to get my hands on Yo-kai Watch Wibble Wobble, but from the way the App Store works—and because Level 5 are lazy f**kers who won't localise the game here in the United Kingdom—the only way I can get Wibble Wobble is if I copy some random American person's house and area codes with an american account.

Oh, and as one last side note, now that we're a couple of weeks past the released date of Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls, I have come to the decision that it's time to localise this story. All the times I've written Ubaune have been replaced with Dame Dedtime, so as not to confuse others into thinking she's someone else.

Have a nice day, and enjoy the chapter!

Twilight, Sci-Twi, and Sunset Shimmer looked around for Tengloom in the park, shining their Yo-kai Lens all over the place. They scanned every man, woman, child, and tree for the Yo-kai that Goodsight had asked them to find. They referred to the picture that Sunset had taken as their search continued.

"Twilight, I have to ask you something." Sunset walked down the park path with Twilight by her side. "The Yo-kai Watch. Where did it come from? Who made it?"

"I don't really know myself..." Twilight looked at how her Yo-kai Watch glistened in the sunlight.

"I can answer that." Whisper floated in front of both Twilight and Sunset. "When Lord Enma united the Yo-kai and human worlds, a Yo-kai by the name of Steve Jaws invented the Yo-kai Watch so that it could further cement the relationship between the two species." He raised his finger. "But for the first Yo-kai Watch ever created—the Model Zero—it was actually Nate's grandfather, Nathaniel, who made the watch. With it, we were able to defeat the Wicked Yo-kai and send Ubaune packing!"

"But not Kin and Gin." Twilight shuddered, thinking back to when Ponyville was attacked by the Dark Yo-kai. "They were her second-in-command, right? What's stopping them from swooping down and causing havoc right now?"

"Maybe King Void is biding his time..." Whisper put his hand to his chin and scratched at it.

"He's probably waiting for the perfect time to strike; to provoke you and try to force Midnight Sparkle to take control." Sci-Twi looked back at Twilight. "I might not know about this whole Yo-kai thing right now, but I've read plenty of novels to know that King Void's probably going to try and hit you where it hurts, causing you to become Midnight Sparkle out of rage, panic, or persuasion."

"Just clear your mind the next time you fight him, Twilight." Sunset put her hand on Twilight's shoulders. "There is no darkness within you. There is no Midnight Sparkle. There is only you. Just keep telling yourself that and King Void shouldn't be able to break you."

"Think about your friends the next time he tries to play head games with you." Sci-Twi put her hand on Twilight's over shoulder and held onto her hand. "You don't have to listen to that big, pompous bully. Just be yourself; no-one else."

"Are you sure about that?" Twilight looked at both of her friends with wide eyes. She didn't even know that there was a purple inspiriting flame around her. "Because the way I see it, we're all doomed anyway. Why not just give up while we have the chance?"

"Twilight! What's gotten into you?" Sunset Shimmer's eyes shot open as she watched Twilight hang her head and let out a long sigh.

"There's no hope in stopping this. Maybe we should just lay down our Yo-kai Watches, walk right up to King Void, and ask that he at least be merciful with the others." She sat down and opened up her Yo-kai Medallium. "How much longer much we wait before he unleashes his wrath?"

"Twilight! Snap out of it!" Whisper gave Twilight a slap that snapped her head to the side. "You would never act this way! Unless—"

"Unless what, Whisper?" Sunset looked at Whisper.

"Unless you're being inspirited by Tengloom!" Whisper put his hand to his forehead and found Tengloom sitting down beside Twilight, reading his own book. "Sunset! Sci-Twi! Yo-kai Watches! Now!" He jabbed his finger at him.

Sunset and Sci-Twi pointed their watches at Tengloom, watching the twelve segments light up and reveal him with a blast of smoke. They brushed it away and coughed as the Yo-kai became visible.

"What's the point?" Both Twilight and Tengloom sighed and flipped a page of their books. "There's no way that we can win against King Void..."

"This isn't looking good, girls. He's got Twilight Sparkle completely under his control." Whisper floated beside Sci-Twi and Sunset. "You're going to need to pull out all of the stops if you're going to want to break her free of it."

"I'm already on it." Sunset pulled out her own Yo-kai Medallium and retrieved a Yo-kai Medal. "Come on out, my friend! Calling Signibble!" The medal was tossed high into the air. "Yo-kai Medal, do your thing!" And shoved into the slot as usual.

"SUMMONING: MYSTERIOUS!" The watch cried as yellow beams summoned forth Signibble.

Boo-shiggy, boo-shiggy
Boogie-woogie!
Cling clang, delirious
MYSTERIOUS!

"Signibble!" He somersaulted into battle.

"My turn!" Sci-Twi opened up her medallium as well, pulling out her own Yo-kai Medal. "Come on out, my friend! Calling Ake!" She mirrored all of Sunset's actions. "Yo-kai Medal, do your thing!" And just like before, she put it into the slot.

"SUMMONING: SHADY!" Sci-Twi's Yo-kai Watch declared and spat out dark blue beams.

Marvellous thee!
Gutsy, free banshee
Sing-song, SHADY!

"Ake!" He landed on his stubby legs and cracked his knuckles.

"Looks like you two have been busy since we last met." Whisper eyed up both Sci-Twi and Sunset's Yo-kai friends. "You even summon like Twilight does!"

"Well, I figured that if we're going to be calling these weird, wacky, and wonderful creatures, maybe we could jazz up the summons a bit." Sunset shot a grin at Whisper. "I mean, why just shove it into a slot when you can go all out with your big introductions?"

"True that." Whisper nodded, folded his hands, and looked over at Tengloom. "Now, girls. Charge!"

"Got it!" Both girls fist-pumped and jabbed their fingers at Tengloom.

"A fight? How pointless." He stood up and shook his head, letting out a long and weary sigh as he put his book away. "We all know what the outcome is. Even if I lose this, it was all for nothing in the end."

"Signibble! Go for him!" Sunset shouted.

"On it! Take this!" Signibble pointed at Tengloom and shot lightning at him. The bolts all struck their target one after another, sending electricity all over Tengloom's body.

"How predictable." Tengloom looked back at his book and thrust his hand at Signibble and Ake, sending green wind waves at the Yo-kai. "A losing fight all the same, like this whole situation with King Void."

"He's a strong one, I'll give him that." Whisper brushed his forehead with the back of his hand. "But don't get discouraged. He's just a Tengloom in the end. He's meant to be doom and gloom."

"Well, if gloom is in his name, then I've got nothing against it." Sci-Twi watched both her counterpart and Tengloom flip over another page of the book. "But that's still no reason to have him drag down my friends into despair. We've gotta take care of him right now!"

"Go, Signibble!" Sunset jabbed a finger at the Tengloom. "Save Twilight from that gloomy Yo-kai!"

"No prob, Sunset!" Signibble slid on his knees directly underneath Tengloom. He put his hands on the Yo-kai's stomach and channelled electricity through them.

Tengloom was fried by thousands of volts of electricity and jumped up high into the air, letting out a cry akin to that of a real bird, dropping his book as he shook and shuddered around in Signibble's attack. He landed on his butt and bounced off of his book, knocking Twilight over and cutting off the inspiriting flames.

"Huh? What the?" Twilight shook her head and looked at Sunset and Sci-Twi. She noticed that she was holding the Yo-kai Medallium and looked around for a medal. "Did we find one of Goodsight's Yo-kai?"

"Yep. And it inspirited you while you were talking about King Void." Sunset nodded and pointed to where Tengloom lay. "Pick your favourite Yo-kai and let's do this, Twilight. Triple team Tengloom."

"Doesn't that seem a bit unfair as it is?" Twilight watched Tengloom squirm to grab his book and stand back up. "I don't want to add insult to injury."

"No, no. It's fine, really." Tengloom groaned and hobbled over to where Twilight was standing. "I'm supposed to be a doom and gloom bringer. Nothing ever goes right for me. It's only fair that I lose this and go back to the Yo-kai World where I belong." He reached into his pocket and tossed Twilight a Yo-kai Medal, not even bothering to look back as he slunk away off to the deeper parts of the park. "All for the best, really. I mean, who in the world could even use a Yo-kai like me?" He faded away with a puff of smoke.

"Man. What a buzzkill." Twilight picked up the Yo-kai Medal and put it in her medallium. "Doesn't really feel like he wanted to be friends with us, yet he still gave us his medal and didn't even acknowledge us." She stood back up and closed the book. "Whisper? Do Yo-kai just drop their medals like that?"

"Well, sometimes. But most of the time I've known my masters, I've mostly seen Yo-kai Medals get acquired through some tough challenge, relationships with other Yo-kai that are friends of that peculiar Yo-kai at large, or even out of a sheer random speech or action. They don't just get dropped."

"Still, it seems like this was a little bit too easy." Sunset walked over to Whisper. "It's like he didn't even want to fight in the first place."

"Tengloom is a doom and gloom Yo-kai, as he so well put it." Whisper showed Sunset and Sci-Twi a picture of Tengloom on the Yo-kai Pad. "Often down in the dumps, nothing makes this particular Yo-kai feel happy. And whoever he inspirits will be just as miserable and moody. Despite this, he has gained somewhat of a cult following back home with certain other Yo-kai who connect to his struggles."

"I agree with Twilight. Didn't seem like much of a challenge to me." Jibanyan shrugged and climbed onto Twilight's shoulders. "But at least we got one of Goodsight's Yo-kai problems done. Everyone in the park's looking much better now."

"Yes. Everything does seem to have calmed down around here." Sci-Twi looked around and saw people running down the streets with their dogs, playing ball games on wide open grass fields, and chatting to each other while taking in the views. "All that leaves now is Swelton and Chansin."

"We should go off to the kindergarten now." Twilight pulled out Swelton's picture. "Do any of you know where that is?"

"Sure. Just follow me. I'll take you to it." Sci-Twi walked in front of Twilight and Sunset and travelled down the path towards the road.

"I think it's for the best that we head there first." Whisper nodded and floated off after Sci-Twi. "Chansin and Swelton are both 'C' Rank Yo-kai, but Swelton's powers are far more potent than that of Chansin."

"It's not the Yo-kai that I'm worried about." Sunset followed after the group. "It's about Sci-Twi going back to Crystal Prep; to face her old classmates and acquaintances after the whole Friendship Games fiasco."

"Abacus Cinch was a cruel and unjust pony back in Equestria, so I can only assume that her counterpart in this world was just as bad." Twilight shook her head and coiled her hand around the Yo-kai Watch. "If she left her mark on my other self, then I shudder to think of the damage that she's done to the other students at that school too..."

"No matter how evil and selfish a human might be, they all look like wailing toddlers when compared to that of a Yo-kai villain," said Whisper. "The acts of Mckraken, Dame Dedtime, and Gogogo Godfather are still ingrained into the deepest parts of my subconscious..." He shuddered, thinking back to the days when Nate had to save the world from the Yo-kai that he had mentioned.

"Not to mention the crimes King Void committed when he invaded Ponyville." Twilight winced at everything that had happened. "First, the Dark Yo-kai; then Kin and Gin turn Red Snow's Sailornyan into Oblivinyan; and finally, he had a massive monster named Lash unleash my true evil. It's safe to say that King Void doesn't deserve any form of redemption."

"But how are we possibly going to defeat him?" Whisper asked.

"We upgrade the Yo-kai Watch, make our supernatural entourage even bigger, and amass an army of friends to perform regicide on King Void." Twilight crossed the road, looking both ways for traffic before stepping onto the paved white lines. "But in order to do that, we'll need to beat Swelton and Chansin."

"I agree." Whisper nodded. "Power doesn't come without challenge, after all."

Later that day, Sunset, Twilight, and Sci-Twi all arrived at the local kindergarten and walked inside. They spoke with the woman at the front desk and went down the corridor towards the room where the children were playing. The three girls approached the door—which had been decorated with stickers and painted all of the colours of the rainbow—and walked inside.

Inside the room, different children of all shapes and sizes were running around, full of energy as they passed the time before their next lesson. Some students were sitting at a table drawing pictures, while others were playing with toys or running around the room to catch or find one another. No matter what they were doing, though, it was clear that they weren't going to stop any time soon.

"Well, we're here, that's for sure." Whisper crossed his arms and looked around at all of the children enjoying themselves. "Now, all we have to do is look around for the Swelton inspiriting these poor children, take it out, and then we can be on our way."

"Are you sure that Goodsight was telling the truth when he mentioned that the kids here were getting sweaty due to a Yo-kai?" Sunset walked up towards some of the kids and saw them laughing and having fun. She looked closer and saw some small drops of sweat trickling down their foreheads. "Because from the way I see it, they're making all of this sweat from just playing around."

"I'm one-hundred and fifty percent sure that there is a Swelton around here, Sunset." Whisper put his hands to his sides. "In all of the years that both I and he have lived, Mr. Goodsight has never told a single lie in his life, and he doesn't plan to start now."

"Whisper? Don't you think that you're just jumping to conclusions a bit here?" Twilight gently walked up behind him and tugged on his tail, causing him to jump and hit the ceiling.

"Twilight! Don't touch the tail!" Whisper stroked his tail and rubbed his head as he floated back down to her height. "I might be the closest thing to an actual ghost, but that's still no reason for you to just go grabbing onto my tail like that!"

"See, that's the thing with you, Whisper. You lack a sense of judgement." Twilight looked at the other children, playing around with toys and books. "Whenever a problem comes up, you always think that a Yo-kai's doing it, or that that particular Yo-kai's bad without giving it a chance to show itself off. Because of this, you end up making terrible choices of words and actions and pull your masters into more fights than they need.

"Likewise, whenever someone does something rash, you always tend to make them out as shifty, suspicious, or rude, even when they might be in a hurry to donate to charity, or are doing something for a loved one." Twilight tutted and wagged her finger. "You might be a Yo-kai and a good ally, Whisper, but you're a terrible butler."

"I..." The words hit Whisper so hard that he froze up on the spot and turned completely white. He slumped to the ground and dropped his arms across the floor before being run over by a couple more children.

"Gee, Twilight. You didn't have to say it like that." Jibanyan walked up to Whisper, who was writhing and crying on the floor with his arms suppressing his tears. "And here I thought I had it rough when I thought Amy called me lame..."

"A... terrible butler?" Whisper quivered as he floated back up to Twilight's face. "I feel so disgraced by those words. I don't even deserve to be yours!"

"Whisper. Get over it, you big crybaby." Twilight rubbed his tuft of hair.

"No! I shall not even dignify you with a response! I'm out of here!" Whisper vanished with a blast of smoke.

"I think it's for the best." Jibanyan nodded. "I mean, he put you down many times, had low expectations whenever you befriended a Yo-kai that you'd get them all, and he still has to resort to that stupid Yo-kai Pad half of the time. I don't knyow how Nate put up with him, but I do knyow that you don't even need him now that you've got all your other Yo-kai friends."

"JIbanyan. I'm not going to abandon Whisper." Twilight kneeled down to Jibanyan. "But at the same time, I'm also not going to let him get off with this so easily. You do have some valid points, but Whisper has proven to be an asset capable of fighting King Void's Yo-kai. And in these times of need, we need all of the Yo-kai that we can get.

"Whisper has been incredibly judgemental about everything that me and Nate have had to fight, he constantly takes wise-cracks at stuff that shouldn't even be wise-cracked about, and more often than not, it's becoming annoying how little of an actual butler he's being." Twilight used her fingers to list off all of Whisper's traits. "I expected him to wear a tuxedo, to hold a silver platter, to speak in a refined Canterlot accent, and just do everything that I say, instead of him bossing me around like some kind of Yo-kai whipping boy." During Twilight's tirade, she began perspiring all over. "Is it just me, or did it get really hot in here all of a sudden?"

"Nyeah. Me too!" Jibanyan began sweating as well. "Sunset! Sci-Twi! Do you feel hot and sticky?"

"Yeah. Yeah I am." Sunset flipped up her Yo-kai Lens and began looking around. "Looks like Whisper was right after all."

"I should apologise to him." Twilight looked through her lens and revealed the Swelton in the room. "But first, we need to clear Swelton out of here before he starts inspiriting the other kids."

"Uggh..." Swelton sat down, inspiriting multiple kindergarten kids at once as he dropped his arms down by his sides. "So much energy. Makes me sweat all over."

"He looks pretty bulky." Twilight watched the sweat roll down Swelton's flabby body and onto the floor around him. "Looks like we might need to combine our efforts on this one."

"Got it." Sunset pulled out a medal. "Come on out, my friend! Calling Cricky!" She tossed the medal high and watched it bounce off the ceiling. "Yo-kai Medal, do your thing!" She pushed it into the slot.

"SUMMONING: SLIPPERY!" The Yo-kai Watch declared and called forth the frog.

Glippery!
Trippery1
Slimey-wimey-do!
Slippery!

"Cricky!" He landed before Sunset and croaked.

"Looks like it's my turn now." Sci-Twi nodded and pulled out her Yo-kai Medal. "Come on out, my friends! Callinng the Nosirs!" She copied Sunset's moves, right down to her catching the medal and putting into her watch. "Yo-kai Medal, do your thing!"

"SUMMONING: EERIE!" Sci-Twi's watch called out.

Lookie-lee, lookie-lee
Flippidy-dee!
Lookie-lee, lookie-lee
Bubba Eerie!

"Nosirs!" The three of them called out together.

"Uggh. A fight is it?" Swelton slowly stood up and wiped his face down with the towel around his arm. "Guess it's time to sweat up the joint some more."

"Come on out, my friend! Calling Count Cavity!" Twilight threw her medal up as well. "Yo-kai Medal, do your thing!"

"SUMMONING: SHADY!" Twilight's watch cried out.

Marvellous thee!
Gutsy, free banshee
Sing-song, Shady!

"Count Cavity!" He twirled his pitchfork and brandished it before Swelton.

"Three-on-one, eh? Sounds fun." Swelton took up a sumo wrestling stance and thrust his hands out before the three Yo-kai. "Might even give me a reason to sweat!"

"En garde, vile fiend!" Count Cavity banged his pitchfork against the ground and ran towards Swelton, lunging forward with it.

The pitchfork went into Swelton's flab, but it didn't actually impale him. Count Cavity tried to pull it out, but when he did, he yanked it too hard and accidentally let it go, sending it flying into the ceiling. He pulled it out and flew back at Swelton and tried to strike him with the weapon, only for it to slip and slide all over the Yo-kai's body.

"Don't make Twilight's Yo-kai slip and slide! Nuh-uh-uh!" The first Nosir kicked Swelton in the face twice, with his feel slipping off of his face easily.

"Ugh. You guys really need to know when to break a sweat!" Swelton thrust his arms out, casting inspiriting flames on the three Yo-kai.

"So sweaty... That's snot it..." The third Nosir fell to his knees as he began sweating frantically.

"Why's it gotta be sweating?" Cricky moaned and sat down.

"Swelton's power is more scary than I thought!" Twilight's sweat attack got even stronger as Swelton inspirited the Yo-kai.

"Only makes sense that we stop him right here and now." Sunset nodded, wiping some of the sweat off of her brow as she looked down at the team. "Cricky! Go for him."

"Really?" Cricky tilted his head to the side. "I'm a pacifist, not a fighter."

"Hmm. Let's see you get through this!" Sweltone gathered up energy for a Soultimate.

"Team! Now's the time!" Sci-Twi pointed her finger at Swelton. "Nosirs! Move in and strike his down before he's done!"

"Count Cavity! You help out the Nosirs!" Twilight added, patting Count Cavity on the back. As she did, her hands began to sweat as well, and they slipped right off of his back and flopped down to her sides.

Both the Nosirs and Count Cavity ran forward, dealing precisely aimed punches and strikes to Swelton's face and body. Their attacks were all successful, and Swelton did stagger from them, but he still gathered up energy for the Soultimate move. They tried to deal him a strong attack to break his concentration, but their sweat was making it increasingly harder for them to focus themselves.

"Now's the time!" Swelton finished charging for his Soultimate, and thrust his arms out while sitting down. His own sweat trickled down like a stream of water as his entire body got moisturised. "SWEATY WALL!"

"He's bolstering his defences! Team! Move in!" Twilight thrust her arm out.

"Cricky! Please fight for me, or we're going to lose to Swelton!" Sunset got down onto her knees and pleaded, clasping her hands together.

As Cricky looked at Swelton, a fire appeared in his eyes. He stood up and cracked his knuckles, hopping towards the Yo-kai. "This sweat is unbearable! It's time to cool off!"

Cricky's feet repeatedly pounded Swelton's face, causing him to fall onto his back. He continued to bounce on the sweat-covered Yo-kai's face while Count Cavity and the Nosirs got to work on his chest. Together, the Yo-kai team hammered down on Swelton, dealing a seemingly endless combo of attacks all over him.

"No! Stop! Stop hurting me!" Swelton pushed the Nosirs and Count Cavity off of him before grabbing Cricky and throwing him towards a plastic box. "I'm not a bad Yo-kai! Honest!"

"Hold on, everyone. Looks like he's opening up." Sci-Twi threw her arms in front of all of her friends and walked towards Swelton. "Go on. Tell us. Why were you inspiriting these poor kindergarten kids?"

"People need to sweat. It helps them burn off calories and keep fit." Swelton wiped himself down with his towel. "And since these kids are full of energy, I thought that this'd help them out and keep them happy and healthy. But I didn't realise that they were getting too sweaty for their own good." He sighed and hung his head, lifting the inspiriting flames from the room, cooling down the humans and Yo-kai alike. "I'm sorry if I made a racket. I just wanted to keep people slim. Isn't that what sweat's supposed to do?"

"You couldn't control yourself?" Sci-Twi's eyes opened up slightly.

"Yeah. Sweating off fat's a good thing, but I'm making 'em oversweat." He reached out to the kids. "I just wish I could stop, but you know what they say. A Swelton's a Swelton and that's all he'll ever be." He hung his head.

"Aww..." Sci-Twi rubbed Swelton's head, grimacing as the sweat coated her hand. "Hey. Let me make it up to you, Swelton. Why don't we be friends?"

"Really? You really mean it?!" Swelton's eyes shot wide open. "Yes, yes, yes! I'd love to! No-one ever befriends a Swelton these days!" He pulled out a Yo-kai Medal from the folds of his body fat and gave it to Sci-Twi, shaking her hand vigorously. "I promise you that you won't regret this decision! I'll be your best friend ever!"

"Well, looks like that's two down and one to go." Sunset crossed her arms and watched Sci-Twi clean up the sweat-drenched Yo-kai Medal. "But the last one's at Crystal Prep..."

"Don't worry about it, Sunset." Twilight held onto Sunset's hand. "We're going to stop Chansin and keep Sci-Twi safe. Whatever Abacus Cinch might've done to that place, we're still going to get the job done and save those inspirited students." She took a quick glance at Swelton and Sci-Twi talking to each other. "And while we're there, I suppose I owe Whisper an apology."

"You most certainly do."

"Whisper?" Twilight watched as Whisper appeared right beside her.

"You know, I'm not really pleased with the way that you treated me back there." Whisper's hands were balled up into fists and placed against his hips. "I might be descended from the great philosopher Nonuttin', but I'm far smarter than that measly marshmallow."

"I know. And I'm sorry that I snapped at you for it." Twilight sighed and looked up at Whisper. "See, the thing is that you're not really much of a butler and rather more of a boss. When we hear the word 'butler', we often think of people dressed up in tuxedos with silver platters and a mature and wealthy voice. Not some hovering ghost barking orders and having to refer to a tablet to get their information."

"Well those are all of the stereotypes that you would see in a regular human waiter, but I, Whisper, am no ordinary butler." He pointed to his chest and pulled out a card with a blue border and an odd symbol on it. "As you can clearly see by this card, I am a certified Yo-kai butler, appointed from the Yo-kai World to serve any one being that frees me from the Crank-a-kai. This is a lifetime debt and cannot be exchanged, substituted, or broken."

"Geez. And here I thought Spike's dragon code stuff was corny..." Twilight deadpanned.

"WHAT'S SO WRONG WITH A LITTLE CERTIFICATION?!" Whisper yelled into Twilight's face.

"Calm down, you two." Sunset pushed into Twilight and Whisper. "Let's just get back to what really matters here. We beat Swelton, and that leaves us with only one Yo-kai left."

"That's the good news. The bad news is that it's inspiriting Crystal Prep students." Sci-Twi regrouped with Twilight and Sunset. "If Crystal Prep's grades start to fall even lower, then the students'll get mad, and that'll lead to an education crash." She sighed. "Moreso, I'm worried about what the other students will think about me once we get there..."

"Hey. Don't worry, Sci-Twi. We're here for you." Sunset wrapped her hand around Sci-Twi's chest. "And no matter what happens, we're going to stand right by your side, now and forever."

"Then I hope that you're prepared to go gambling, ladies." Whisper floated towards the door. "Because once you step into Crystal Prep's doors, it'll feel more like a casino than an academy."

"I don't really like the sound of that..." Twilight tugged at her collar as she and her friends followed Whisper out of the room.
