"WHAAAAAT!!!"

Early the next day Zeno, Spark, and Sonata meet back on the roof for lunch and it turned out that Sonata had a big surprise for them both. She showed the boys a poster that had a card painted on the front that read "Canterlot High Duel Tournament!"

"HECK YEAH!! A DUEL TOURNAMENT! THIS IS SO INCREDIBLY AWESOME!" Zeno shouted enthusiastically while Spark sighed in annoyance.

"I guess that explains the sudden business at Rigs....Ugh, of all the times for everyone to get into duel monsters." Spark whispered as he took a bite out of his sandwich.

"Isn't this awesome Spark!" Zeno asked while Spark only passively nodded which didn't seem to bother Zeno at all.

"Sonata your entering to aren't you! It would be a great way to try out your new deck!"

Sonata only smiled awkwardly and tried to agree with Zeno but he seemed to be off in his own world. However, Spark noticed something different about her today but he couldn't figure it out.

"Oh yeah! let's get going!"

Later that afternoon everyone gathered in the gym and of course almost everyone in the school showed up to compete. Zeno walked into the gym with stars in his eyes while Spark looked a little skeptical.

"I gonna go get some punch." Spark said as he left Zeno's side.

Zeno looked around the gym for anyone he might know but suddenly he felt something poking him and suddenly he saw Mystic baby dragon appear.

"What's up bud? You look a little scared of something." Zeno asked while Mystic baby dragon looked like he was on the verge of tears.

"Don't tell me you can't feel the tension in the air! Something is seriously wrong here Zeno! I say we go home and forget about this tournament thingy, ok?" He begged, however, it looked like Zeno was still to star struck to listen.

"Oh man, I can't wait to start dueling~!"

"Of course he didn't listen to me..." Mystic baby Dragon cried as he tried drawing circles around his feet.

Suddenly the doors opened and Sonata and her two sisters came through.

"Yo Sonata!" Zeno shouted as he made his way over to her.

However, Zeno suddenly noticed her expression and how sad it looked. Then he felt someone grab him and pull him aside which happened to be Spark.

"I guess you just noticed it too?" Spark asked while Zeno continued to stare at her.

"Y-Yeah...Kinda."

Suddenly everyone went quite when they heard a group of girls shouting. There were six girls all huddled up together each of them holding hands with each other while their leader shouted something about magic? Anyways it was amazingly awkward which caused a few people to start chuckling.

"Talk about throwing down the gauntlet! These girls must be serious about winning!" Adagio said with a sly smile while everyone else focused their attention on the girls.

"It's almost like they believe they already have this competition all wrapped up!"

Suddenly Zeno noticed a strange green smoke start to form around everyone as they began arguing with each other except for himself and those strange girls. Zeno looked around and noticed a strange purple aura begin to form around the Adagio and Aria but strangely not around Sonata.

"I've seen that before....Back when I dueled Spark!"

Suddenly Zeno realized he hasn't seen Spark and quickly did a double take of his surroundings and after a moment, he saw Spark sitting in the corner watching passively. Zeno ran over to try and see if he knew what was going on, however, when he got their Sparks eyes were.....gone.

A plain white void took their place which caused Zeno to gasp as he fell over out of fear. Suddenly a strange mark appeared on Sparks forehead as he pulled out his duel disk.

"Attention everyone!!" Spark shouted in a distorted voice as a dark haze appeared all around him.

Everyone's attention was now of the girls and now onto Spark as grew a janky and corrupt smile that sent chills down Zeno's spine.

"It's time I give you all a lesson in dueling 101! And I believe I'll start with you! ZENO!!" He shouted with glee as his white eye's suddenly turned red like a raging fire.

"What!?"

"Duel me Zeno unless you don't want your friend to be lost in the darkness forever!" The Twisted voice said which caused Zeno to freeze.

"W-What did you do to Spark?"

The Twisted version of Spark laughed manically as everyone in the room watched him get crazier and crazier.

"Oh, nothing really I'm just borrowing his body for a while! And Must I say it's a perfect fit! HAHAHAHA!!!"

Zeno felt his blood boil as he picked himself back up and reached into his bag.

"Sorry bud....But looks like we gotta duel this freak...." Zeno said as he pulled out his duel disk and turned it on.

"Because......I GOTTA PROTECT MY FRIEND!!"
