Chapter 2:

How to Survive the Night

Silence... That’s all that greeted Blaze as he began to come to; he didn’t know if the others had survived or if they all ended up where Blaze was but he was not alone as he felt something brush up agenst him and his eyes soon shot open to see...

“A squid-“ Blaze said as he choked down a mouthful of water before closing and soon seeing a blocky creature with derpy eyes facing him as it bobbed in the water.

“Wait if it’s a squid then...”

*GHASP*

“Ok why the ocean of all places to spawn” Blaze said between breaths as he laid on the sand before looking around at the blocky environment

From where he was standing he saw a forest to his left a mountain region to his right and the ocean was at his back and from surfacing he saw the sun was almost at the mid-point.

Blaze then swiftly brought his hoof up and swiped but nothing happened as he swung his hoof in frustration before groaning loudly  

“Great, bloody great now how am i supposed to get out of here?” Blaze mumbled to himself before asking “KAI you there? Hello...”

Blaze sighed as he glanced at the forest and soon he was moving. Blaze had played the game enough to know that he needed to find the others and before night approaches and due to the mods he really didn’t want to wait around.

“Please anyone, can you hear me!!?” Blaze shouted as he continued to walk until his face met rock

“Ow”

Blaze then noticed the massive mountain in front of him he sighed as he began to climb up. Why not use his wings you may ask well turns out a mod was installed to stop pegasi from flying.

“Stupid, bloody, useless mods” Blaze groaned to himself as he finally reached the top and soon got a better grasp of the area

So the forest he saw was surrounded by mountains and then the rest of the area was a blanket of dark green as a roofed forest covered the ground below.

Behind him the ocean was cut off by an endless desert with no a single trace of life. The world just seemed to keep going but other than that Blaze enjoyed the view and for a game made of blocks that’s something unique.

Blaze began to traverse the mountains to cover more ground and soon found a small cave about 30 blocks away but something was different. The cave held a campfire and it was still going.

“Huh is someone else here?” Blaze said as he began to run towards the entrance but stopped at a tree “But then again it might not be anyone, oh great now I’m talking to myself!”

Blaze then stared intently at the tree and soon he began to punch it. At first it didn’t work but once he realized he had to hit it multiple times he had gavered 5 oak blocks.

Blaze then turned them into planks, then some into sticks and soon a pick, he then grabbed 20 cobble and soon he had a stone set of tools with some extra planks and stone just encase.

Blaze then readied his sword as he slowly entered the cave and found a crafting bench, furnace and chest and the campfire in the center.

Blaze then walked over and opened the chest to find some wood, stone and... A lot of apples.

“Wait apples?” Blaze thought out loud as he grabbed some and began to eat as he saw a few bars appear in his vision.

Hearts: 20

Armor: 0

Hunger: Full

Level: 1

“Well that’s something?” Blaze said in confusion before glancing at the entrance to the cave and noticed the sky turning colours.

Blaze sat there in the cave as he listened to the crackling of the fire as he remembered the night he spent in his new home, but unlike then he had KAI and now nothing.

“I really hate being alone… heh great I’m starting to go crazy” Blaze joked as his ears flattened agenst his head as he looked down at his hooves

“I don’t even know if I’ll find a way home, let alone anyone to help me. . . well I’ll be dammed if I give up again, I beat that nightmare so this shouldn’t be too bad right?” Blaze thought as he got up and walked outside into the night

“So let’s see I have no A.I, no armour or wings and I have only the basic knowledge of this game. . . well I’ve survived this long!” Blaze said in glee as his cybernetic eye began to beep as he looked and saw a message

*Alert: Non-hostile lifeforms detected, North-North east, 2000 blocks*

Blaze turned and noticed a faint light in the distance and his smile began to grow and then it shattered.

“So all I need to do is cross this dark. . . mob infested. . . forest. . .” Blaze looked back and saw that mobs have begun to show up as he looked towards the massive forest and saw through the leaves mobs, a lot of mobs

"Well the night ain't getting any younger!" Blaze said out loud as he jumped onto the tree in front of him and then proceeded to jump to the next and the next until he was in full motion and as the night grew longer, the window between life and death grew shorter.

Blaze ran across the forest as he dodged the holes that came into view but one of them he didn’t account for as his body dropped to the cold earth below with a thud.

"Ow did anyone get the number on that hole?" Blaze groaned, his voice muffled by the dirt

Blaze slowly got to his feet as he saw 2 skeletons, 3 zombies, 1 spider jokey and a creeper corner him as he held his blade and smiled.

“You sure we can’t just talk this out?” Blaze asked with a fake smile as an arrow shot passed him from the spider jockey as he laughed hesitantly “Heh I guess not, alright then”

Blaze rushed forward and slid to the side of the zombies as he jumped up and slashed one’s head clean off. He then kicked the other into a skeleton as he implied the 3rd with his blade and proceeded to use it like a shield as he charged the 2nd skeleton and skewed them both on a tree as their bodies disappeared.

Blaze then felt pain shoot up his back leg as the first skeleton shot him and caused Blaze to hide behind a tree. Blaze then proceeded to run around the tree line as he took a block out of the tree along with the skeleton as it fell still and disappeared.

*HISSSSSS-*

“Oh Fu- “

*BOOM!!!*

The creeper along with Blaze were sent flying as the creeper vanished along with a good chunk of the ground as Blaze then viewed his life bar.

Health: 10

“They sure as hell can land a punch, really wish KAI was here”

Blaze then saw the shadow looming over him as the spider began to attack its prey as Blaze used his blade to fend off the arachnid as its arms flailed around as Blaze saw the jockey prepare its arrow.

“Talk about a rock and a hard place”

The spider tried to bite Blaze but Blaze used his wings to block the creature as he moved his blade and shanked the Spider as it hissed in pain as Blaze tipped it off his body as it disappeared like the rest. He went to reach for his sword but an arrow stopped him in his tracks as the jockey slowly moved up as its face seemed to grin as him as it slowly pulled back the bow as Blaze laid their with a fearful expression before the world around them shook with anger.

*ROOOOAAAAAAR!!!*  

"Ok what the fuck was that?" Blaze asked as he noticed the Jockey backing away into the tree-line as it glared at Blaze with its hollow (Literally) eyes as Blaze ate 2 more apples as he felt the wounds heal up as his health reached its maximum.

Blaze pressed onwards into the night as he spotted a clearing up ahead with the glow of light emanating from the clearing as he saw what looked to be like buildings as he smiled happily.

“Finally home free!” Blaze shouted in glee as he limped towards the light in hopes of finding help

What he didn’t know was that the game around him was changing and unaware of whose pulling the strings...
