Spike scratched his head in confusion. "Rarity?"

Twilight's voice slowly lowered and lowered the farther she got. "Rarity, where are going?! Wait up!"

Spike and Barbara began to make their way towards Twilight's distant voice leaving Rainbow Dash in the background. She lowered herself to the ground and looked around. "Guys? Where did everyone go?"

Twilight's voice turned countless corners as Spike followed it. Down one way, up another, but finally they ended up on the outskirts of Ponyville just outside the town. As Spike and Barbara caught, they saw Twilight using her magic to desperately keep Rarity in place. She was struggling furiously, crying a river, and grayed out.

Spike and Barbara walked in front of the struggling Rarity and looked her in the eyes. Twilight released Rarity as she stared down back at Spike. He simply grabbed her hoof and sat her down. "Rarity...why?" She sat in silence, so choked up she wasn't even able to make a peep. "Rarity..please."

She wiped her eyes and opened her mouth. "Well darling.....I don't know....it's just...I.....I....." Her words kept getting interrupted by her tears in which she'd have to wipe them away again. "I..really.."

Twilight stopped her before she say anything else. "I think I know what she's trying to say. You know that saying, you don't know what you have until it's gone."

Spike eyes widened as he began to understand. "Rarity, why didn't you tell me you felt that way?"

"Well I mainly looked at the facts dear, we are many years apart. At first I thought that we'd never have a chance due to our age but once I saw you getting ready for this date, I realized how much of a caring person you are. So kind, so gentle, so loving and considerate, and ever so cute."

The response sent Barbara steaming fire out of her nose, almost literally shooting daggers at her. "Hey my date, not yours."

"Sorry, too soon?"

"Little bit."

Rarity finally dried her tears and continued. "Darling...I...didn't know I had any of these feelings. Once I saw you with Barbara, I just kinda lost it. I know I know, every girls love story, stupid right?"

Barbara stood still for a moment but everyone else it seemed like a eternity. Finally she made her way over to Rarity and took hold of her hoof. "No it's not."

(Twilight, Rarity, Spike) "What?"

"It's not stupid. It's actually pretty nice."

Rarity's face turned to confusion. "But wouldn't you be mad at me for trying to ruin your date?"

"Well under most circumstances, so don't do it again. But you have remember where I come from. A land full of dragons who don't the first thing about love other than persuasion and eventually something they call the special hug, I don't know. Anyway, You guys have shown me something today. Love is much more than our usual and sometimes cruel habits to get a dragon or a dragoness. It's not just continuing the bloodline, it's really caring for the pony, or dragon in this case."

Twilight smiled and put an hoof around Rarity. "Well at least we learned something here today. Barbara and you."

Rarity blinked in confusion. "Wait what I supposed to learn? Did I miss something?"

"Rarity."

"Oh fine. I should leave Spike and Barbara alone and let them enjoy their date correct?"

"Thanks for understanding."

"Spike, I'm must apologize for my actions lately. They have been...uncouth."

Spike smiled and grabbed her hoof as well. "It's ok. I know exactly how you feel. Remember when you brought that colt over and I was over."

"Yes and the next day you tried to bribe me into a date with flowers."

"Exactly. Same situation, same feelings. And here I am, on a date."

"Never really noticed that, I guess you're right. Holding onto something like this isn't worth it if you already moved on I suppose."

"Sorry to crush your feelings like this Rarity."

"Quite ok darling. If it's any help, I do feel really bad about this and would like to to treat you and your lovely dragoness to a time in Canterlot."

Barbara jumped up and down like a giddy school girl. "Canterlot! No way no way!" Everyone just stared at her with most surprised looks. "Hey, none of you give me that look, I've actually never really been in any of these fascinating cities you guys visit like everyday."

"No matter, you will be given a royal treatment, I swear it."

Twilight flashed over and pushed Spike and Barbara together. "Now before you guys forget, you are still on your date. And if my calculations are correct, a meteor shower should be starting in 3....2.....1." Thousands of light trails filed the sky covering every inch with luminescent light. "Rarity if you wouldn't mind, let's give them a little privacy."

"Oh of course."

Rarity and Twilight left the young couple to suffer in their nervousness. It's been nearly five minutes and both of them have barely moved. It wasn't until one paticular meteor passed very close to them that seemed startled out of their frozen trance hugging with barely any space between them. Barbara blushed as the warmth passed from Spike to her. "Well if that was a excuse to get close to me, it worked."

"Wait, I thought that....Actually that is exactly what it was, yep."

"Well since we're all cozy and stuff, I'm willing to give another kiss a try."

"Well I..um....I don't know if.."

"Oh just shut up and kiss me already."
