Twilight flew fast and hard towards the mountains as the plumes of dust and smoke rose from the horizon. Each time a column of dust rose into the air, the mountains shook like rickety old wood. Spike scratched his head in fear as the horizon rumbled with a ghastly roar. "Twilight..when you came to get me, what exactly did you expect me to do?"

"Save your date."

"How am I supposed to do that? Do you see the size of that dragon?"

A gigantic white dragon, about half the size of a skyscraper, hovered slightly over the mountains spewing fire down at the ground. "I was hoping you persuade him or something."

"There's no way that's gonna work."

"Look I'm gonna put you down as close as I can. Get Barbara out of here."

"What about her mother? Oh..."

A smaller purple and green dragon circled around the white one, dodging as the white dragon swiped at her.

"I'm gonna try and push the dragon back Spike, go get her."

"Um...right."

Twilight flew low behind what rocks she could and got Spike about 30 feet away from Barbara's cave. Spike nodded for Twilight to leave and started running towards the cave. A couple of rocks to hop here, another couple of pits to jump there and eventually he found himself right outside of the cave. His gaze turned to the sky watching as Twilight blasted beams of energy at the dragon. No time to get distracted Spike. "Barbara are there?" He walked inside slowly looking around for any sign of her.

"Spike? I..Is that you?"

"Barbara where are you?"

"In the back of the cave. I could use a hand."

Spike quickly jogged to the very back of the cave to find Barbara hugging a wall.

"I wasn't expecting you to be here Spike. How did you find us?"

"One of my friends told me that you were in trouble. What's up with Big white out there?"

"We don't know, he kept spewing something about my father. I guess he saw this as an opportune moment to attack considering my father is away."

"Well come on, we have to go."

"W..where?"

"Out of the way of this dragon. I'm taking you to Ponyville."

"And what of my mother?"

"Twilight is helping her out, don't worry they'll be able to fend him off."

"If you say so but.."

"But what?"

"Gonna need a hand walking."

"Why, what happened?"

"When he first attacked, we were a long ways from our cave. My mother flew as fast as she could back to our cave, but some of his fire made my mother off balance and she dropped me. When I hit the the ground, I felt a sharp pain in my leg and now I can't move it." Spike's mind trailed off for a mere moment and suddenly his entire body grew about a foot. "Spike, your body."
Teen Spike

"I'll have someone in the Dragon Lands take at your leg look once this is over now come on, I'll carry you."

Without any trouble Spike scooped her up and darted out of the cave. He had one goal in mind, to save Barbara. As he neared the beginning of the end of the path that Twilight let him off on a explosion of fire erupted sending the two flying back. Spike landed on his back accidentally letting go of Barbara as she flew. She landed a few yards away from him holding her leg in pain. "Ow! And here I thought the pain couldn't get worse." Spike got up a rubbed his head turning his head towards the sky. The white dragon a sicking grin on his face as Twilight and Barbara's mother continued attacking. He looked at Spike and then to Barbara and laughed. The mother grabbed on to his neck with those sharp and piercing teeth making the white dragon groan in annoyance. He removed her from his neck and held her with left claw constricting her movements. Bringing his right claw across his body he swatted her into a mountain with crushing force. Barbara looked up to see her mother unconscious. "Mother!..Noo!"

Twilight flashed in front of him blasting a massive beam of energy into his face. He roared as he held his face in pain and fell back into the rocks below him. Twilight looked towards the ground to see Spike with a strange and terrifying look on his face. "Spike get her out of here, this is not time to.."

Twilight was cut off by the sudden white dragon in her face who swatted her as well into the side of the mountain. He then blasted fire into the small hole she made as she impacted. Spike's look grew even more intense as he witnessed this. "Twilight!" The dragon finally turned his complete attention towards the two dragons on the ground. He began to hover closer and closer until his claws touched the ground next to them. Spike backed up in fear until he realized who this white dragon was after. "Don't you touch her!" He screamed as he rushed the dragon.

The dragon lifted up a claw and made a fist, immediately slamming into Spike's position. Spike lay on the ground unconscious and bruised all over as the dragon simply flicked his body a couple of yards away. Barbara looked up in fear as the dragon brought his face closer, a deep and almost bellowing voice erupted from his mouth. "My business is with your father, where is he?"

"I don't know please, just leave us alone."

"Not until my rage is soothed up your loathful father. But since he's not here, how about I unleash what little rage I can...right now."

"No please, I beg of you!"

His jaws opened wide as he brought his head back. Barbara could see the dark, pink insides of his mouth as he quickly charged his head forward. Moments before his head could connect to the ground, a frightening roar shook the ground making them both stop in curiosity. Both Barbara and the white dragon cocked their head in curiosity both whispering "What was that?"

The white dragon watched as Spike got up, his injuries completely vanishing before his eyes. He fired a barrage of fire engulfing Spike in it. Moments later through the dissipating smoke, a pair of green eyes shined through like beacons. Spike had no idea where this power was coming from, it's like his mind was the same old Spike, but his body was something more. His emotion turned to complete anger above all else as he felt something snap inside of him. Something.....Primal...and he liked it. Spike began grunting a roaring as his body started growing foot by foot until his size was half of the white dragon's. "I told to leave her alone. Are you seriously considering killing an innocent little girl over something a dragon who is the same size as you did. It seems you downgraded to a jerk as well as a baby."

The white dragon roared at that comment. "What did you say to me?!"

"If you..w..want to pick on someone..then pick on someone your own si....size!"

Spike roared in his face as his growth finally finished, now the same size as the dragon. Barbara backed up in shock and awe as the two dragons towered over here. "What is going on? How did he grow so big so fast or so old so fast....I'm confused."
Spike full size

The white dragon took a step back as the surprise took hit him hard. "What?! Such a little dragon grew this fast, it's genetically impossible...So what, you think this will save you? It might have given you a fighting chance but don't expect it be that easy."

The white dragon quickly rushed Spike only to find a claw around his throat. He struggled to escape as Spike lifted into the air instantly taking off into the sky. He crashed the white dragon into some nearby mountains, a storm of smoke rising from the epicenter. Spike hovered out of the smoke and blasted fire into the crash. As the smoke cleared, the white dragon shook his head in pain, roared, and returned to the sky. Suddenly something sparked inside his mouth, large charges of electricity. Twilight's eyes widened as the dragon began vibrating. "No...no way, Spike watch out!"

Spike turned his attention to Twilight for only a mere moment as the white dragon opened his mouth. A beam of electric energy erupted out and surrounded Spike sending him into the ground. The dragon laughed as Spike twitched and shook with electricity traveling through his body. "That should take care of him. Now back to the girl." He returned his person only a couple feet away from her, his jaws lining up perfectly with her position. He brought his head back and opened his jaws wide. "Time for a snack!"

Without any warning a purple hand scooped Barbara out of the way. The dragon stopped as he felt a claw on the back of his head. "Consider this a warning. Next time you wanna eat your own species, remember how the ground taste!" Spike promptly slammed the dragon's head into the ground setting Barbara on a nearby ledge. He picked the dragon up and tossed him off the mountains. Everyone watched with amazement as the white dragon got up and cowered in fear. He flew off without a second thought leaving Spike and the others to recover.

Spike turned to remove Barbara's mother from the side of the mountain and place her on the ground. Barbara tapped Spike on the foot and as he peered into her into emerald green eyes, he reverted back to his teen size. "Spike are you ok? That electric flame seemed like it hurt."

"A few bruises here and there but i'm fine. Hey I'm still a little bigger than I used to be, what gives?"

Twilight slowly hovered to the ground in pain. "I think..ow...you're finally growing up Spike."

"Twilight you're hurt. We have to get back to Ponyville."

"Later Spike, right now we need to tend to Barbara's mother." Twilight flew around her checking her obvious injuries. "Let's see here I know I remember this healing spell."

Barbara's mother popped open one eye as the Twilight healed her injuries. She peered at Spike with shock. "Oh my, Barbara you've grown."

"Mom..i'm over here."

"Then who is...oh you must Spike then. I have to say, I remember my daughter saying you were smaller but not this cute."

Spike blushed rubbing the back of his head. "Um..Thanks Mrs...um."

"Sangria hon."

"Thanks Mrs. Sangria."

Twilight hopped of her stomach smiling. "All done mam."

"Oh..and what were you doing up there?"

"Healing your injuries. After the dragon knocked out you were pretty beat up."

"You're seem to be in need of healing yourself. Thank you anyway." She slowly got to her claws and sighed. "Much better."

"Alright Spike you're next."

"Shouldn't you heal yourself Twilight?"

"I can fight through the pain."

"If you say so."

Sangria rushed quickly to her Barbara noticing her whining over her leg. "Sweetie what's wrong with your leg?"

"Well it really hurts. I can't move it."

Twilight stopped for a moment to inspect the injured Barbara. "Unfortunately her leg is fractured. I recommend you stay off it until we can find a doctor who deals with dragons."

Sangria shook her head. "It's only a fracture so there will be no need."

Twilight gasped as she returned to healing Spike. "What? Why?"

"Well we really have no problem with ponies, but we do take what little opportunities we can to avoid them."

"Are you against dragon to pony relations too?"

"Heavens no, we just prefer to stay within the species. If we're to talk or interact with ponies or even griffons for that matter, we'll certainly do so."

"Oh..I'm sorry for judging."

"It's quite alright. Now that we have time, Spike, I'd be ever so obliged if you could tell me about yourself."

Spike covered his eyes in embarrassment. "Um..I'm a little nervous..I mean what if.."

"No no no, don't you dare go doubting yourself. My baby girl says you're perfect and I want to say the same thing so spit it out."

"O..Ok. But this might take a while."

Barbara limped over and huddled next to Spike as they all sat in a circle waiting to hear his backstory with Twilight in support of course. "Alright then it all started when I met Twilight."
