Amnesia: Twilight Sparkle
Chapter 5

“Wow Twi that artifact sure does look fancy.” Said Applejack with an amazed look on her face. The artifact Twilight and the other had found in the cave was a big shiny star with the same color as Twilight’s coat. It was floating on its own above the table Twilight had put it on.

It was also surrounded with some sort of dark energy.
It had this aura around it and if you listened carefully it whispered.

Whispers that anypony should fear.

Whispers that even Celestia herself feared.

But there was onepony who didn’t fear those whispers; it was like they talked to her.

It was whispers about amazing technology and alien life forms.

But they were also dark whispers.

Whispers that included the end of Equestria, and death to all ponies.

“Yeah… This sure is an amazing artifact…” Said Twilight
“Good thing Rarity isn’t here, she would steal it and put it on one of her dresses immediately” Chuckled Rainbow Dash.

“Haha. Yeah, but we need to get this to Celestia right away!” Said Twilight

“What are we waiting for then? To Canterlot!” Shouted Pinkie Pie

When they arrived to Canterlot they were instantly greeted by Celestia herself.

“I know why you are here… Come with me.”

The four ponies just stared at each other and without argument they followed Celestia.

Before anything else could happen a white light appeared and blinded Twilight.

With a gasp Twilight woke up. Remembering the monster she saw before she fainted. She quickly looked around just to see a smoke cloud with the monster’s shape.

“It was just my imagination.”
Twilight got back on her hooves, and looked back in the fountain.

The shiny thing was another key.

Twilight picked up the key; it had been in the fountain some time she could tell. It was all rusted.

“I’ll be surprised if this even holds together when I put it in a keyhole!”

Even though the key was rusted and probably would break Twilight gently put the key in her bag.
Twilight looked around her surroundings once more and rested her eyes on an old wooden door on the far end of the left wall.

With careful steps she walked towards it.
She gave the door a gentle push and it was locked.

“Why?! Why does every door in this castle have to be locked!?”

She remembered the rusted key in her bag.
“Sigh”. I’ll have to give this a try then…”

She put the rusted key in the key hole and turn it, a soft click could be heard and then a crack.

“I knew it! The key broke! At least it opened the door.”
Twilight gave the door another gentle push and with a squeaking noise it opened.

Inside this room were boxes and barrels, not much to have any use for but there was a note in there. It was old the paper was yellowish and it was very dry. Twilight carefully picked up the paper to read it but it was only a few numbers.

“This does not make any sense.”
Twilight looked at the note for a while and was about to throw it away but changed her mind.

“It may be good to take it with me just in case.”
When Twilight exited the room she heard something in the distance, she stopped for a moment to really listen and see if she could make out what it was.

The sound came closer.

Much closer.

Now Twilight could hear what it really was, it was wing flaps.

She knew those wing flaps, it sounded different than any other Pegasus.

Now she could make out an apparition, it was a Pegasus indeed.
The apparition came closer and so did the wing flaps.
The apparition flew in a small string of light from the chandelier.
That small moment that she was in that beam of light was enough for Twilight to recognize the cyan coat.

It was Rainbow Dash.

Something was different though; her coat was not that bright cyan color as it used to be. Now it was darker, almost as if had started to rot, her face was still in the dark so Twilight couldn’t see it so good. But she knew that it wouldn’t be a comfortable sight.

“Ra…Rainbow…? Is that you?” Twilight asked nervously
Rainbow hadn’t noticed Twilight yet, until she asked that question. She turned her head towards Twilight and started to fly, getting closer and closer.

Now when Rainbow Dash entered the light on ground level Twilight could see her face, and she was right it was not a comfortable sight. She didn’t have any eyes, only black holes. Her jaw was missing, not like the first monster she had encountered its jaw was still there. But Rainbow’s jaw was gone, and her tongue was hanging out which made her do gurgling sounds.

Twilight put a hoof on her mouth to prevent puking at the same time she also held back a sob. To her surprise Rainbow Dash spoke to her. Not with her mouth and tongue but with some sort of mechanical device on her chest.

“Why… Did…You do…It, Why… Did…You made… Us go…Through such….Pain…The pain was…overpowering….Nopony should… Survive that…So why… Did I survive… Tell Me… Twilight!”

Twilight could not say anything she just stood there and stared at the jaw less Rainbow Dash.

“WHY DID YOU DO IT TWILIGHT!”

With does words Rainbow dash grabbed Twilight by the waist and flew up in the sky almost hitting the roof, and out from one of the windows that was big enough for both her and Twilight

“Welcome…. To my… Nightmare… An Endless Nightmare…”

Twilight saw that they were flying higher and higher. Now they were high enough for her to see the whole castle.
Rainbow Dash let go of Twilight and she fell. Twilight fell so fast that her body couldn’t take the stress anymore and she fainted.
