The monster came closer to the wardrobe where Twilight hide.
Twilight knew for sure she was a goner now.
Then she started to think about her quest.
She could not stop here, not now! Twilight put all her strength in her front hoofs and hit the wardrobe door with a demanding force knocking back the monster so it fell to the floor.
Twilight observed the knocked down enemy for a few seconds before she ran out of the room and down the hallway, just to be stopped by a dead end. The door was locked. She remembered the note. “ The key is in the small storage room”
- Storage room! Twilight shouted.
Twilight turned around and ran down the hallway again and noticed a door she had passed without thinking about when she fled the monster. Above the door was a sign. “ Storage room”
“WHEEEEERKLRKL”
She heard a grunt from down the hallway, with a bit of panic and a pounding headache she tried to open the door. The door was stuck. Now Twilight rose a bit of anger. She took a few steps back and rammed the door
“WHAM!!”
With a loud bang the door opened. The sound alerted the monster which started to slowly walk to the sound.
Twilight which had fell from the impact when se rammed the door stood up and stared to search for the key. In the storage room was 3 shelves with a lot of junk on them. There was also a desk way back at the back wall. Twilight made her way there and forgot the close the door. She opened the first drawer of the desk. In the drawer were only a tinderbox and some old useless papers. The second drawer was empty. Twilight panic now turned fully into rage. She pulled out the last drawer and in the drawer was a small rusty key. When Twilight saw the key her headache stared to calm down, and her anger as well. When she turned around she saw the shadow of the monster. A voice in Twilight’s head yelled. “HIDE! NOW!”
With some confusion she searched for a hiding spot. When she spun her head around to look at the left of here she caught a big chest. She walked quiet to it and try to open it. It opened with a quiet squeak. Twilight stepped in to the chest and closed it, she put a small piece of wood that she found in the chest so it wouldn’t go into deadlock. After what seemed for years she heard the monster leave and walk down the stairs with shuffling steps. Twilight got out of the chest and said to herself.
- I’ll call that one grunt until I come up with a better name and the noises its making.
Twilight walked to the opened door and poked out her head. The coast was clear.
She now sprinted to the door with quiet but slightly fast steps. When she reached the door she took out the key from her bag and put it in the keyhole. With a calming click sound the door opened. She felt that the headache was almost gone now, but then she remembered the wound on her stomach. The burning sensation came back, pain streamed through her body. But the blood that had dried was a good protect so that no bacteria could enter the wound as easy until she found some bandage to treat the wound with.
In the room the locked door lead into there was bookcases with a lot of books about alchemy and potions. In the middle there was a desk on the desk was a note. The note said.
“When you’re reading this you don’t remember much. How you got here or what’s going on.The shadow is hunting you, you must find and kill Flakk! Make him pay for this! He is the one sending those monsters at you. He is the one that made you murder those innocent peoples! He will probably be in his inner sanctum and doing some ritual to open a portal to another world. You must stop him! You must kill him! You have to murder one last person before you can be free! I made and drank the Amnesia drink to forget about all this but this cannot be forgotten! Your former self. Twilight”
Twilight thought about the note for a moment.
“I… I.. Killed those poor people.” Picture of twilights past flashed before her. But still there were black squares in her memory.
Twilight wiped a tear from her face and started to look around the room for an exit. She noticed a lever on the wall.
She walked to it and pulled it. A noise of wooden material that was heavily dragged to the floor appeared and a large bookcase slid across the floor revealing a hidden path. Twilight didn’t had second thoughts about going in there.
As twilight walked down the path she felt her left front hoof descent down the floor just slightly, when she looked down she saw that she had stepped on a brick that was loose, she heard the same wooden noise dragging on the floor, she looked back and saw the bookcase close again.
“Well… There is no turning back now.” Twilight said to herself and continued to walk down the path.
After a while Twilight reached a heavy looking door. She pressed it and it opened with a load squeaking noise, reveling a big nice looking room with a staircase on the left wall. A fountain in the shape of princess Celestia in the middle of the room. Twilight felt at last calm and safe for the first time in the night. Her headache had gone away, but the wound on her stomach was still aching a bit though. She walked to the fountain and saw a bottle of some sort.
On the bottle it stood “Laudanum” Twilight had read many books so she knew directly was this was and didn’t hastate to drink it. A bitter taste hit her after swallowing the last sip of Laudanum.
She placed the bottle back at the fountain and turn around to see the big staircase and the two doors on the top of it. She walked to the staircase to go and investigate one of the two rooms. The Laudanum had already given a affect, Twilight barley felt the pain from the wound anymore. When Twilight reached the top of the stairs and opened the door to “The archives” She got hit by a dark wall.
- I am not going in there without any source of light! Twilight said.
She closed the door and opened “Quest room” In the quest room was a double sized bed, a fairly large fireplace, a wardrobe and a desk. Twilight entered the room and closed the door behind her. She looked to the left and saw another door. She walked and tried to open it. But it was locked and it was something stuck in the keyhole.
- Well a key isn’t going to work this time. Twilight said.
She walked to the desk and opened the top shelf and found a note. The note said.
“I… I had to kill him. He wasn’t himself anymore. He stared to grow angry and aggressive. If I didn’t do something he had killed me and probably everypony else. And that big claw thing on his hoof? Where did that came from? I locked the body away in the closet and broke the lock. Tomorrow night I’ll bury him. I have hidden a crowbar and my lantern in my wardrobe so I can get in the closet again. And one more thing I have also hidden away a key in the closet somewhere I need to find it when I’ll get out the body. Signed Phebe.”
Twilight put the note in here file. Opened the wardrobe and found the crowbar and the lantern. She checked the oil and it was half full.
- Finally! Twilight sighed. A nice lantern!
She put the lantern in her bag because she didn’t need it in this room it was lit up by some small candles. She took the crowbar and walked to the locked door, put the crowbar in the crack between the door and the wall. She gathered her strength and pull the crow bar.
“CRACK!”
The door flung open and revealing a horrible stench. The body of a stallion lied on the floor in the closet. Twilight almost threw up from the stench and the sight. But she manages to keep calm. Easily Twilight stepped over the body and to the chest in the room. She opened the chest, in the chest there was some lantern oil and two tinderboxes.
- This can come in handy. Said Twilight.
She lifted her head and saw a painting just in front of her face. When she examine the painting a bit more she saw that it was something behind it. She lifted the painting of the wall and behind it was a key with a label on it on the label it was written “Old archives”
Twilight gently put the key in her bag and when she was about to walk out of the room she heard a loud bang on the door.
