The Friendship Chapter – An Unbreakable Bound

“Fluttershy dear, would you please help me decorate these tables?”
“Uhm sure, just a second please.” Fluttershy was just helping Pinkie with the cakes while I had the job to decorate all the picnic tables. I mean, considering the fact that I'm the greatest fashionista in whole Equestria, it was the perfect job for me. Well, better than making me dirty with this gluey frosting of Pinkies cakes.
“Hey Rarity, how's it going with the tables?” Pinkie asked.
“Oh I'm almost done, just a few little details here and there.”
“Great! I can't wait to open the buffet!”
“But you already ate about 50% of the cakes already!” It was quite interesting how much cake a single pony could eat in such a short time. Pinkie- the pony with the bottomless stomach.
“Yes I know, but they're soooooooooooo sweet and tasty!” She opened her mouth and ate another giant cake with a single gulp.
“Oh my.”
“Eeew, well okay then. Uhm, Fluttershy?”
“Oh right, I'm coming. Angel, could you please please help Pinkie instead?” Her little white bunny Angel nodded and jumped into Pinkies direction.
“Hihi well hi there, do you wanna help me with the food?” Soon after Pinkie and Angel were jumping back into the small cabin.
“Pinkie really is a strange pony.”
“You think so?”
“Did you never noticed how- oh, please hold this for a minute, dear.”
“Sure.” I gave some of the light blue ribbons, which were supposed to be decorations for the tables, to Fluttershy. They were wonderful, but the tables themselves were too overloaded to work
properly .
“Well, like I said... Pinkie is really strange. I mean, she eats cake like a garbage chute, but still doesn't grow fat. I mean look at me! I ate one little cupcake and my belly grew that big!
That's not fair!”
“But, you're not fat Rarity! You are the slimmest one of us.”
“How kind of you my dear. I need a ribbon.”
“Okay.” She gave me one of the ribbons, then I continued.
“The second thing is her happy attitude. She's always happy, no matter what happens. Don't get me wrong, it's a really good attitude, but isn't it quite hard to keep that up?”
“Oh well, Pinkie is just a optimist, but even she can cry sometimes... well, I guess.”
“Hm, I don't know. I saw her laughing, screaming, dancing, singing, eating, drinking but never crying. Scissor please.” Fluttershy gave me the scissor and answered.
“Don't you remember that time when princess Luna showed up again? Princess Celestia and Luna were hugging each other and shedding tears. At that point, Pinkie started to cry.”
“Hmmm you're right, but I don't think it was real.”
“And what's with her birthday party? You know, the day when she was totally depressed and sad, because she thought we didn't wanted to be friends with her anymore.”
“Hm well okay, you're right. Strange I totally forgot that.” A few last stitches and the last tablecloth was finished.
“Finally done. Thanks Fluttershy dear, now we only have to wait for our last two guests.”
“Yay~” Fluttershy squeaked.
“Oh and like I said, don't get me wrong, I really like Pinkie Pie, she's just a bit strange sometimes.”
“Hihi well, she's just Pinkie Pie.” Both of us started to laugh. Fluttershy was right, Pinkie was no pony at all, she was a mystery.
“Are you two talking about me?”
“AAH!” Pinkie jumped out of the nowhere and startled me.
“PINKIE!” The pink pony just continued to laugh.
“Whats wrong? Is everything ready?”
“Yes we've just finished the decorations. What's with the food?”
“Everything is alrighty! Oh and Rainbow Dash and Applejack just showed up, too~”
“Oh really? Whe-”
“RAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIINBOOOOOOOOOOOOW!” A scream approached from the sky, getting louder and louder and finally landed in the giant lake behind us.
“WAAAAVE!” Due to the impact of the falling thing, a huge wave washed over the whole picnic place. After it was gone, the decorations, tables and party hats where scattered all around the place. But that wasn't the worst of all!
“MY MAAAANE!” My beautiful mane was totally soaked with water and hanging down into my face. It took so long too style it that way and now it was ruined!
“Sheesh, if ah get this rainbow colored blockhead ah will... huh? What are you guys doin' here?”
Applejack just came out of the water, her mane soaked and ruined like mine.
“This is a welcoming party!” Pinkie shouted.
“A welcomin' party? For whom?”
“For you you dummy~”
“For me?” Applejack shook her body like a dog to clear herself from the water, tossing it right into my direction like expected.
“Hey watch out! I just try to save my hair here!”
“Oh sorry princess, how careless from me. Shall ah call a doctor for your mane?”
“PAH!” I didn't had the nerves to talk to her right now, I had better things to do.
“Hehehe, but seriously girls, what are ya' doin' here?”
“Pinkie already told you that it's a welcoming party for you!” Rainbow Dash said while landing next to Pinkie.
“RAINBOW!” Applejack growled.
“Hey don't be mad at me! All of us were the same opinion!”
“Which opinion?”
“Well, uhm... we thought you could need some vacation.... maybe.” Fluttershy said.
“Vacation... for me? Hm, ah don't know.”
“Ou c'mon Applejack! You're always working so hard every day, you really need a vacation!”
“Hmm, but what about Sweet Apple Acre?”
“Big Mac will handle that.”
“And Granny Smith?”
“She's old enough to watch for herself.”
“And what about Applebloom?”
“She's fine again right? Don't worry I bet she's playing with her friends again while we speak.”
“Eyupp Rainbow is right Applejack. I gave them a little hint where they can find a giant treasure near Ponyville.” Treasure?
“There's a treasure near Ponyville?! What's inside? Gems? Diamonds? Rainbow Crystals?”
I shouted out of the cabin.
“Rainbow- what?” Rainbow Dash asked confused.
“Well yes and noooo. It really IS really valuable, but-” Then Pinkie got interrupted by
Applejack again.
“That doesn't matter now! Did you at least send them somewhere safe?”
“Uhm duh, sure I did you silly. It's inside of a small wood... but I forgot the name.”
“It is safe, believe me.” rainbow Dash added.
“Yes, yes but the trea-” And again I was cut off by Applejack.
“Well okay, ah'll guess that's fine then.”
“YAAAAAY LET'S PAAAAARTEEEEEEEY!” Pinkie shouted.
“But the treasure... hmpf, forget it!”

The sun was about to set and everypony seemed to had a good time.
The cakes, apples, sandwiches and milk bottles were empty and the was about to grow colder and colder. We were laying on the dark grass near the lake, relaxing and silently breathing.
Applejack, me, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rarity. Too bad that Twilight and Spike didn't wanted to come, too. It was a peaceful place, around ten minutes away from Ponyville and although it normally was a bit too quiet for me, it had it's special charm. The hooves behind my head, the legs crossed and the warm-cold breeze of the autumn blowing through my mane... it was so wonderful
I could have napped away in seconds.
“Hey girls...” Fluttershy quietly said.
“Sup' Fluttershy?”
“Do you... well, do you think that friendship lasts forever?” That was a weird question, a bit sappy too, but somehow... interesting.
“Hihihi, oh you silly~ Of course it does!”
“Yes of course darling! I would never forget a good friend.”
“Me neither, you betcha'!”
“I see... what do you think Rainbow Dash?” Hmm that was a topic I really wanted to evade but, well, it was too late now too make a drawback. What should I say?
“C'mon Rainbow, talk to us.”
“Yeah, yeah okay! Uhm, well I think... I would never forget a friend. Never!” Although I blamed Twilight for something she haven't done in the first place. Maybe it wasn't her fault but, gosh I don't know. I started to feel bad for some reason. Everything became quiet again for a while.
The wind blew through the trees, making their last few leafs rustle through the dusk.
“What if-” Fluttershy started again.
“What darling?”
“Oh, it's nothing.”
“C,mon Fluttershy, spit it out.”
“Yeah let us hear.”
“Well...” Fluttershy seemed to shed a tear, sparkling in the light of the sinking sun.
“... what if... we have to go some day?”
“What do you mean?” Pinkie asked. Fluttershy closed her eyes and laid her arms around her little bunny Angel, who was sleeping on her belly. Her voice got shaky, was she crying?
“What if, we have to pass on some day? Do you believe... friendship will-” Before she could even spell it, Pinkie already laid her arms around Fluttershy.
“It will! It will keep existing... no matter what happens, friendship won't go away. Never!”
Rarity stood up and went on the other side of Fluttershy, laying her arms around her too.
“Don't worry darling, we'll stay with you whatever happens!” That was... BAH too sappy! It's just... it's just...
“Rainbow.”
“Huh?” I looked up, not knowing that a tear ran down my cheek. Applejack was standing right above me, softly smiling, holding her hoof over my chest.
“Let's join our friends.” Joining these crybabies? Somehow, I felt strange. I don't cry, I can't cry!
... I don't want to... I cried enough. Applejack stared at me for a while, still smiling. She knew me, she knew that I wanted to join them... darn it.
“Fine, If you insist it...” She grabbed my hoof and dragged me to the others.
The sun kept sinking, the wind grew colder and we... we lay together on the lake, hugging each others and dreaming. A dream, were friendship should never die, were time didn't exist.

“... friendship... does it really last forever?”
