The Cutie Mark Chapter – The Greatest Treasure

“Okay, ready everypony?” Applebloom shouted while we were wandering through the wood near Ponyville.
“Oh yeah! That'll be so awesome! Just think of it, we're getting real treasure hunter cutie marks!”
“Yay and think of all the diamond and gems we'll find!”
“For what do you need diamonds and gems Sweetie Belle?” Scootaloo asked.
“Well duh, I need them if I want to be such a great fashion designer like my big sister.”
“But Sweetie Belle, maybe the treasure is somethin' totally different.” Applebloom said.
“Yeah, maybe it's a hypervelocity scooter or something like that!”
“A scooter? Oh c'mon Scootaloo, do ya really think that pirates are goin' to bury a scooter?”
“Pah, pirates are cool and scooters are cool, case closed! What do YOU think is inside?”
Applebloom scratched her head with her hoof and looked around.
“Oh I know! Maybe there are golden Zap-Apples inside!” Both of us remained quiet while Applebloom continued to grin.
“Uhm Applebloom, don't take it the wrong way but I don't think that there are Zap-Apples inside...”
“Why that Sweetie Belle?” Well I thought that would be obvious.
“Well uhm, wouldn't Zap-Apples usually rot after all these years under the earth?” Applebloom looked at me and started to smile.
“Well, usually yes, buuuuuuuut these are GOLDEN Zap-Apples! They are UN-rotable!”
“Yeah and UN-eatable!” Scootaloo started to laugh, rolling herself over the ground.
“Oh gosh Applebloom, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!”
“HEY but your stupid scooter does exist huh?”
“YES IT DOES!”
“NO IT DOESN'T!”
“YES IT DOES!”
“NO IT DOESN'T!”
“GIRLS!” Both Applebloom and Scootaloo became silent, looking at me with wide opened eyes.
“Uhm sorry, but shouldn't we better concentrate on our journey instead of just yelling on each other?” Both started to frown again, until Scootaloo turned herself around.
“You're right, let's go then! The first filly who finds the treasure wins!” And with the end of the sentence, Scootaloo rushed ahead.
“SCOOTALOO THATS NOT FAIR!” Hmm, this situation seemed kind of familiar.
“... huh...” Applebloom moaned.
“Everything alright Applebloom?” She looked confused to the ground, but a few seconds later she answered.
“Hm? No, uhm yes. It's nothin', just some kinda deja-vu or somethin'.” A Deja-vu?
“GIRLSGIRLSGIRLSGIRLSGIRLS!” Scootaloo screamed.
“Scootaloo?”
“YOU HAVE TO COME! NOW! HUUUUUURRY UUUUUP!”
“What the hay has driven into her?”
“I don't know, maybe she has found the treasure?”
“NO WAY!” Applebloom began to run to Scootaloos direction.
“APPLEBLOOM WAIT!” I ran after her as fast as I could. Trees and bushes were flashing by, yellow and red leafs were dancing through the wind, the cold wind slapping against our faces while running down the path. It took a few minutes until we've finally saw Scootaloo, standing on a giant hill, frantically waving her hooves.
“Scootaloo what-”
“What IS this?”
“I have noooooooo clue, but it's quite suspicious don't you think?”
“It really is suspicious, but do ya really think it's the place where the treasure is hidden?”
Scootaloo slapped her hoof on her face and shaked her head.
“Oh c'mon Applebloom, isn't it OBVIOUS? This is the wood Pinkie told you, it's supposed to be a buried treasure AND this is a giant hill in the middle of this path.”
“Thats the point, it's TOO obvious! Ah mean, wouldn't a pirate bury his treasure a bit more, well “hidden” than that?”
“Applebloom's right Scootaloo, it surely is a trap!” Scootaloo looked around and back to the hill she was sitting on. After awhile she started to sigh and jumped off.
“Maybe you're right... darn, I thought I've found it.”

“Applebloom? Didn't you tell us before, that you could remember the place Pinkie told you?”
“Well, yes ah did... but it's not really accurate.”
“C'mon Applebloom spit it out! What did Pinkie told you?”
“Uhm... To find the greatest treasure of em' all, you don't have to be very tall. Go to the woods near the town and stop making such a frown. The treasure is near, but you won't find it on your own,
just go on and watch... it's right in front of your nose.” Me and Scootaloo were looking onto each other. Her eyes were telling me that she was sharing the same level of confusion like I did.
“Oooookay?”
“Well, it's still Pinkie after all.”
“Don't worry girls, ahm sure she hid some sorta hint in this message or somethin'.”
“Great and what could that be?”
“Maybe... we should follow that path?” We sat down for a while, thinking about our next steps.
I thought about Appleblooms, well I mean, Pinkies words and tried to figure out, what secret hint Pinkie could've hidden in that message. It took about five minutes until Scootaloo stood up and started to walk down the path.
“Where are ya goin' Scoot?” She turned around and grumbled: “This is boring, I'll continue to search for it the old way.”
“W-wait Scoot!” Applebloom stood up and ran after Scoot again.
“Girls we really should..., hmpf, never mind.” I stood up and slowly followed them.
“Sustaining a friendship is quite hard, right?” A silent female voice approached from behind, making me cringe for a second.
“Huh? Who-” I could feel how everything around me grew colder with every minute.
“They say friendship can last forever... but I never made such an experience.”
“Girls? This isn't funny!” Suddenly I could feel a cold hoof onto my shoulder, I was like paralyzed.
“You're Sweetie Belle, right? Please protect your friends! You have to, please!”
“SWEETIE BELLE!”
“KYAAAAAAA!”
“Gosh, what's wrong with you?” I turned myself around and saw Scootaloo, standing there with a raised eyebrow.
“SCOOTALOO! STOP SCARING ME LIKE THAT!”
“Wowowow calm down you little marshmallow! I haven't done a thing!”
“Oh really? … oh, really?”
“What is takin' so long? Let's go girls it's gettin' late! We have to hurry if we want to find that treasure till dusk!” Applebloom shouted.
“Sweetie Belle has gone nuts or something.”
“NO I'M NOT! I just....”
“Let's go Sweetie Belle, we haven't much time left!” Applebloom and Scootaloo were walking ahead, leaving me behind again. It was a strange feeling back then, but if it wasn't Scootaloo, who was it? Nah it had to be her, I mean, ghosts are only existing in the Everfree forest after all!
“Hmpf, alright then. Don't worry Scootaloo, I'll have my revenge! Hihihihi.” I stood up and walked down the wooded trail, following my two friends to find the greatest treasure ever.

“... the greatest treasure ever...”
