Chapter 6: Mommy?

Mommy?

With the help from her father, Starlight put on the armor made for her. She was comfortable in her armor, a good thing for Giblet, and, despite her trying to look fearsome, she was just adorable. The Overlord thought about giving her a weapon, but she seemed to be more in tune in magic than him, so that was passed. Starlight's horn glowed and a song played as she walked, testing the armor out. Both her father and Giblet stared in awkward silence as she seemed to go with the music, having an extra oomph in her walk, which her boots had noticeable 'clinks' with each step, hopping up the stairs. Her father followed, surprised to see many other minions being hypnotized by the music, using their weapons as props. Both the Overlord and Gnarl could do was stare and occasionally blink. Then it became awkward when, with Starlight's back was at them, she shook her flank at them, turning with a seductive look to her face. They  both blushed (though the Overlord's was hidden) and looked away in embarrassment

I still have no idea how she does it, but it's effective, especially when it come to torture. Glad we had that talk with her as soon as we had our first mistress.

As soon as the song ended, she ended with a pose that, in her mind, she imagined herself showing her eyes while taking off something while standing on her hind legs... only to lose balance and fall on her back.

"...ow." she spoke. "I'm okay." Her father awkwardly chuckled as she got back up. "I'm weady fow a new adventah!" He nodded and gestured her to follow. She followed, along with some minions practicing their dancing.

Back in Spree, with some minions, more villagers d'awed at the sight of Starlight in armor, but her father made sure none of them touch her as they went to the northern gate.

"Castle Spree is under seige!" A villager yelled in front of the closed gate. "It's burning! The demons... they came... they came out of the air!"

"Demons?" Starlight asked, turning to her father before turning back to the villager.

"The lady, she told us to run. So I ran and I didn't look back, even when the screaming started! I don't know if the others made it. I'm not going back there again!"

Hm... a castle under seige, and he follows a woman? Could this mean-?

"Awe we gonna investigate?" Starlight asked. The Overlord thought for a moment, but nodded, sending the minions to open the gate.

It's about time you get a mother, Starlight. The gate opened and they all walked in.

The peaceful village was gone, as replacing it was a castle under fire.

Hm... not even a thousand Halflings could cause this much damage. The Overlord though. Starlight sniffed the air.

"I smeww magic." she said. Her father looked at her, a but confused. She looked up at him. "It smewws wike cinnamon!"

...Huh... Magic smells like cinnamon? She really is more magic sensitive than me. They traveled to the burning castle, the reds easily absorbed the flaming bush in their path, making the way faster. They were stopped by a hooded figure in matching black armor.

"YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!" He yelled, but tripped, landing on his face. He got up, but sat down, holding his knee, rocking a bit while wincing in pain. "Okay... I guess you can go on. Just... give me a minute." They shrugged, turning to the castle, only to see it's gates were closed.

"How do we get in?" Starlight asked.

"There's a mechanism over there." The guy pointed to a hole in the castle that was on fire. "Jerry's guarding it, but just tell them that I sent you guys over there. My lunch is going to begin anyway, and I hate working for our boss."

"And who's that?"

"If I say it, I'm gonna die." There was an awkward silence. "Well, see ya!" He limped away. Starlight and the Overlord turned to each other, shrugged, and continued. The reds absorbed the fire, and Starlight followed the minions as they turned the wheel. A lone guard matching the other guy charged at them.

"Jewwy?" He stopped.

"How do you know my name?" He asked

"Youw fwiend towd us. He's on his wunch wight now."

"Lunch!? Oh, sweet! Today's Taco Tuesday!!!"

"...Taco Tuesday?"

"Best day ever!!!" He turned to the other guards below. "GUYS!!! IT'S TACO TUESDAY!!!" A loud cheer followed. The gate opened and a flood of the guards came out, cheering for tacos. The overlord blinked.

Side note: Find out what Tacos are. He thought. He entered the now empty courtyard and, letting the reds do their thing, took the fire away, leading them to The Dungeons.

They entered the dungeon, the reds absorbed the flaming wreckage in their path, and they entered the area.

"My lady," the voice of a villager spoke "please hurry, they're coming!"

"Stay back!" An elegant woman's voice spoke to something "These people are no threat to you! Put that down!" A sinister, whispering chanting that sounded like an old, dead language, spoke. "Okay...let's... just... RUN!!!" A villager came running out while engulfed in flames, falling dead as a woman dressed in fancy robes ran out with other villagers into a store room.

"That was... horrible!" A villager whimpered.

"Unless you want the horrible following us in, I suggest you shut the door!" The villager shut the gates as two more guards came out. Starlight ran to the two.

"It's Taco Tuesday!" she spoke. The two guards looked at her.

"We hate tacos!" they shouted in unison, followed by raising their swords. They were quickly decapitated by the Overlord. Both Starlight, her father, and the minions turned to the woman in the fancy dress.

"Pretty lady!" A minion spoke.

"Very pwetty." Starlight replied, walking to her. The woman in the dress saw Starlight and couldn't help but d'aw at the sight, leaning down and scratching behind Starlight's ear. As much as the Overlord wanted to, he had to hold back his rage, as this woman seemed important. Starlight giggled, rolling onto her back, letting the woman scratch her exposed belly.

"Your little creatures are just darlings, aren't they!?" The woman asked. Starlight looked up to her.

"My fwiends and I are awesome!" The woman gasped.

"You can talk!?"

"Yep! I'm Stawight Gwimmer!" The woman stared, but giggled.

"Well, Starlight, I'm Rose. It seems you and your friends can handle yourselves. Interested in a job?"

"Would I!"

"Would you?"

"Would I!"

"Would you?"

"Would I!"

"Would you?"

"...Would I what?"

"...Care for a job?" Starlight gasped

"Would I!"

"Would you?" The Overlord face palmed himself.

Oh please! Make it stop!!! Both stopped.

"...Sorry," Rose spoke "But have you heard of the Heaven's Peak Plague?" Starlight, The Overlord, and the minions shook their heads. "It's nasty, very nasty. I came here to see if this place could shelter the poor lumps that aren't infected... yet. I need to get out of here, but I can't leave these Raiders everywhere, and I need my luggage. Could you deal with them and retrieve it for me?"

"We'we on the case!" Starlight spoke with a salute.

"Thank you. And you should probably know, these raiders have a strange creature with them. It's bound to be magical, it must've helped them get here."

Hm... they have a magical creature? Well then, looks like we're gonna fight fire with fire! They went through the dungeon, destroying anyone and everything in their path. To keep it safe, the reds stayed behind for some posts, while the browns, the Overlord, and Starlight fought the raiders. They turned another wheel, and more raiders came, but were defeated. They passed by Rose and entered the next room, where they saw what looked liked a huge, flying eye with tentacles, ending with other eyes. Starlight screamed loudly.

"KILL IT!!! KILL IT!!!" Her horn glowed, grabbing the monster, and she slammed it on the walls, floor, and ceiling. Soon, she was slamming the corpse of the monster around, screaming. She was stopped when the Overlord tapped her head. Starlight cooled herself as the minions picked up Rose's luggage. The storage room opened and the villagers came out, Though Rose walked to the Overlord.

"My Luggage!" Rose cheered "You and your little Cherubs found it!"

"Chewub?" Starlight asked.

"Oh, don't worry. I thought you were just the usual run-of-the-mill dungeon fodder, but you surprised me. I think someone like you can use someone like me." Starlight gasped, her eyes widened as did her pupils, and she smiled widely.

"M-M-Mommy?" Rose knelt down and took off Starlight's helmet.

"With you, how can I say know?" Starlight squeeled happily, running around happily, small whinnies escaped her mouth, making Rose giggle, picking her up. "Come on! Let's go home!" Under his helmet, the Overlord smiled widely, followed by him moaning.

Oh man... I'm gonna make Starlight a little brother.
