-Ponyville-

Fluttershy walked down the dark streets of Ponyville, her head rocking back and forth as she hummed to herself. A loud crackling hiss echoed through the night air, stopping the pegasus mare dead in her tracks. "Hello?!" she called, nervously. The hissing came again, louder than the last. "I'm not going to hurt you!" she reassured, worry lines crossing her face. "Come on out." Fluttershy continued.

A pair of large, glowing spots then startled the pegasus. "Hh!" she inhaled deeply as a reptilian head poked out of a bush. A large pair of eyes gazed up at the pony with an almost sad honesty.

"Hello, there." she whispered, lifting a hoof to the creature's snout. Hesitantly, the creature reeled back and hissed, exposing rows of tiny dagger teeth. "I'm not going to hurt you." she reassured the creature, slightly pulling her hoof away from the thin reptile. With a soft, purr like growl, the small animal lifted it's snout to Fluttershy's hoof.

"You're not so big and bad, are you?" the Element of Kindness said with a slight smile. The creature blinked once before revealing the rest of it's body.

At first glance, the creature was a new species of drake, but closer examination revealed what Fluttershy assumed was a type of dinosaur. It was a thin creature, with downy feathers covering the majority of it's body. It's hind feet had small claws, but what really caught the pony's attention was that one of these claws curved up and was held off of the ground.

"What are you?" Fluttershy whispered to herself, stroking the animal's head.

Suddenly, a larger creature leapt from the bush and angrily hissed at the mare, it's yellow eyes squinted and it's jaws opened wide. With a high pitched bark, the larger saurian pushed the smaller creature away.

"Hey!! That's rude!" Fluttershy scolded the creature, lightly tapping a hoof to it's snout.

With a loud screech, the creature clamped it's jaws on her arm and thrashed it's head. Fluttershy screamed in fear and pain as the reptile released it's hold and scampered away, the bushes loudly rustling as Fluttershy weakly fell to the ground.

-That Morning, Canterlot-

"Hey... Time to get up! C'mon! Wake up!" a voice shouted.

"What? What happened?" Fluttershy murmured as the voice continued to call to her. "Where am I?" she asked groggily as she woke from her sleep. Propping herself onto her elbows, she felt a soft cushioning underneath her body.

"Are you okay?" Rainbow Dash asked the pony with worry on her voice.

"I think so." the pegasus mare replied, rubbing her forehead.

"What happened?" the cyan pony asked.

It was several moments before Fluttershy answered. "I found a small creature in Ponyville last night." she started. "It was perfectly friendly. But then another animal came along and bit me before it ran away. That's all I can remember."

A large bearded unicorn entered the room. His horn was more like a jagged spike and he wore a cape. "Tell me..." he started. "What did this creature look like?"

"It had big eyes and was covered with feathers. It also had weird looking claw on it's hind feet." Fluttershy acknowledged, slightly confused. "Why?"

"Hmm. I've never heard of THAT." the unicorn muttered to himself. "I'm sorry. My name is Unicorn Wizard." he corrected himself, holding out a hoof for the pegasus mare.

"Fluttershy." the pony said, taking his hoof. "What kind of dinosaur is it?"

"Sounds like a raptor. THIS kind of raptor uses a fast acting venom to subdue it's prey. It's mostly nocturnal, so the only hope of finding this creature is with a night watch." Unicorn Wizard said. "Where did you say you found the creature?" Unicorn Wizard said.

"Ponyville." Fluttershy replied. "You're not going to hurt it, are you?" she then asked with a look of worry.

The Dimetrodon looked at the pegasus with a sad expression. "Of course, not." he replied. "I just want to get a look at the dinosaur. I've never seen one up close, so it should be interesting."
