My Little Pony: Dinosaurs Are Magic
Chapter 32: Alpha Versus Omega 09
Previous Chapter Next Chapter-Crystal Empire-
Brilliant spheres of magic repeatedly struck Omega 09 with seemingly no effect on the monster. Snarling, the creature reared onto its hind legs and smashed them into one guard's chest, throwing it against a wall with a crack. The changeling's body then laid still. The other guards lifted pointed spears and poised to strike, each one flanking around and surrounding the mutant stallion. With a bellow, Omega 09 swiftly, lunged forward, slamming his jaws on a spear and splintering it like it was a toothpick. The tyrannosaur then kicked a back leg into another changeling's chest, shattering its ribs.
One guard loosed a war cry and forced his spear tip into the creature's hind leg. Omega bellowed in pain as warm blood ran down his hoof and pooled on the crystalline floor. The spear had gone clean through his leg, puncturing a large vain that spat blood. With a growl the stallion yanked the spear from his leg with his muscular jaws, stabbing a guard with its bloodied tip.
Without warning, a unicorn changeling fired off several blasts of dark magic at the massive pony, throwing it to the floor. Fur smoked as his breath came in ragged gasps, his jaws wide to let in more air.
"Kill it," the magic wielding guard ordered, swinging around to face the three guards that had been killed.
"Yes, MA'AM!" Shield Wing replied, mercilessly driving a spear into the stallion's lung before yanking it back out. The other guards watched as the mutated stallion choked for breath, coughed a glob of blood, and died, the glowing light in its eyes dying out. Swinging around, the changeling guards didn't notice the creature breath to life, its wounds swiftly closing up and making the blood stains on its fur seem like they belonged to some pony else.
Omega 09 snarled, alerting the changeling's before him. Shield Wing looked down at the pool of blood the creature's body had been laying in only seconds earlier. Suddenly, Omega began his advance on the changelings, his jaws wide to reveal the ranks of serrated teeth used for one purpose... To kill.
"We can't fight this thing AGAIN!" Shield Wing shouted, taking a step back and turning to the magic changeling. "Can we?" he then asked.
"No... We can't," she replied in horror, watching as all but Shield Wing and herself were slaughtered by the monster. She slowly stepped backward as Omega 09 turned to them, growling.
"Go," he commanded. "Let's see what your 'king' can do to stop me," the creature then snarled in a deep godly voice, swinging around and bellowing before breaking the front gate down and leaving.
-Ponyville-
"I apologize for the inconvenience Miss Digger. But I am quite busy reconstructing the castle at the moment. I will be with you as soon as I can," a holographic image of Princess Celestia explained to the paleontologist.
"Yeah," Bone Digger snorted in annoyance. "Sure you will," the dusty earth pony grumbled, dragging the struggling gryphon along.
Berries uttered a loud hiss, tugging at the ropes around his neck and trying his best to fly away. "Let Berries GO!" he hissed.
"Ugh. You idiot!" Bone Digger finally snapped. "Struggling is pointless! You will NOT be set loose until I hear the words exit Princess Celestia's royal frickin' lips!" she shouted at the green gryphon, inches from his face.
Berries reeled back, his ears flat and eyes wide. The former Dimorphodon sniffled, no longer fighting against the mare.
"Oh my," Digger murmured, her ears flat and guilt overcoming her as ponies turned and stared at her judgingly.
"Who do you think you are?" One pony scolded, approaching her with a scowl. The pony was instantly recognizable as Fluttershy, the Element of Kindness, though in Digger's eyes, she wasn't being very kind at the moment. At least not to her. Fluttershy, lowered herself down, pulling the rope off of Berries with a soft smile. "It's okay little guy, I got you." she whispered, stroking the gryphon's head. Berries let out a purr like growl, a smile on his face at the positive interaction.
"Ah, Pterodactylus macronyx," a pony said, approaching the trio. "How odd that the pterosaurs survived the Cretaceous extinction," he said, looking down at the gryphon quizzically.
"Dr. Moneybanks?!" Bone Digger exclaimed, looking at his dirty, mustached face with a growing smile.
"Hello, Miss Digger," he replied. "But remember," he continued, leaning toward her. "you call me just Moneybanks."
"Right, okay. Anyhow, Pterodactylus? I thought this thing was called Dimorphodon?" Bone Digger said, lifting an eyebrow.
"Quite right. It IS a Dimorphodon. The scientific name of this creature is Pterodactylus macronyx, though," he answered, chuckling to himself. "Come along, Miss Digger, you knew that," the dapper pegasus carried on, adjusting his monocle.
It was then that a fang jawed earth pony approached, electricity snaking out from beneath each hoof step. "What the hell is THAT?" Bone Digger asked with a jolt of fear.
Gentleman Moneybanks looked up and lifted an eyebrow, messing with his bowler hat as the creature approached. "I do not know, Miss Digger... But it is no normal pony. I think it would be a good idea to run," he suggested.
"I think that's a good idea," Bone Digger replied, looking at him with wide eyes.
Without reply, Dr. Moneybanks swung around and galloped as fast as he could, trying to keep his top hat on his head while doing so. Berries, Fluttershy, and Bone Digger followed close behind as a large pony chased them, unleashing a tremendous bellow that seemed to shake the ground. It was that or the creature's heavy hoof steps pounding against the dusty dirt road.
"Go to Canterlot! Get help" the pegasus ordered, screeching to a halt. "I'll hold it off as long as I can!" he shouted, swinging around.
"I won't leave you, Doctor!" Bone Digger replied, stopping.
"YES, You will!" he ordered. Bone Digger didn't argue, but only turned back around and ran towards the castle, looking back to see a monster almost twice the size of her teacher lunge forward and grab his neck, throwing him against a brick wall.
Moneybanks only sat there, his heart pounding and neck bleeding as the monster approached, snarling and growling at the rebellious pony. Looming over him, Omega 09 growled, placing a hoof on his chest and pushing, making his breath come in gasps. It was then that, out of the blue, a reptilian bark rang in MoneyBanks' ears. Turning his head, the pegasus spotted a blue Velociraptor sprint from hiding, her claws splayed and jaws wide. With a shriek, the dinosaur leapt on top of Omega's back, barking and slashing at the creature with a crazed look in her eyes.
Blue's violet opponent bellowed in anger, bucking and kicking in an effort to free himself of the pest on his back.
"Get OFF!" Omega boomed, swiveling his large skull and slamming his jaws on the Velociraptor's back, effortlessly throwing her to the ground.
"Hey, ugly!" a voice shouted, stopping Omega 09 dead in his electrified tracks. Swinging his head, the scientific mutation spotted a broken horned stallion atop a hill, behind him a small army of ponies including the Mane 6, Bone Digger, Berries, Toucan, Dawn, and the Unicorn Wizard... Even Princess Celestia, Star Swirl, Captain Gordon, and Owen Grady managed to show up, wielding magic, swords, and brute force with them. Also some wings... and magic jewelry.
Omega 09 snarled, a twinge of fear present in his motions and expression. "You can not defeat me!" he bellowed. "NONE OF YOU!"
"They may not be able to... But I can," One Eye answered, behind him a group of equestrians including Discord, the Dark Celestia, Pitch, Venom, the Ophiacodon, and both King and Queen Chrysalis.
Omega 09 turned his head, fear now making his muscles twitch and jerk. "BURN IN HELL!" he boomed, his body coursing with electrically charged blood, his body temperature swiftly rising. Suddenly, the stallion grew, fur being replaced with scales and hooves replaced with claws. Seconds later, a massive violet Tyrannosaurus Rex armored with black spikes stood where the mutant stallion once was, saliva dripping from his jaws in electrified puddles.
One Eye calmly looked up, staring into the glowing eyes that he created.
Taking a step back with a mischievous grin, One Eye's single eye flashed, momentarily blinding Omega 09. Every pony watched as a one eyed Tyrannosaurus Rex lunged forward, biting down on Omega's neck with a bite force of 12,000 pounds per square inch, warm blood flowing into his jaws. His mutant opponent let out an almost alien bellow in pain, before he twisted around, kicking One Eye's belly with his black claws. Omega 09 yanked out of One Eye's jaws as the tyrannosaur roared out in agony, falling to the ground with a earth-trembling thump.
Rex watched, a sudden feeling overcoming his senses as One Eye was attacked by the massive electrified tyrannosaur, blood pooling around the two dinosaurs as they fought. "I'm going in!" Rex shouted, rearing onto his hind legs. He was stopped.
"No," Princess Celestia said sternly, holding him back with telekinesis. "It is too dangerous."
"WHAT?!" Rex roared in response, fighting against her magic. "I have to help! Now let GO!" he growled as Celestia pulled him toward her.
"I'll not risk the death of Canterlot's finest guard for a pony who HATES us," the alicorn said, watching him strain to escape her muscle freezing magic.
"Then, FUCK YOU!" Rex snarled, transforming into his original form and charging toward Omega 09, slamming his jaws on the creature's tail before yanking as hard as his muscles would allow.
Omega 09 slammed into the ground, a plume of dust flying into the air in the form of a cloud. The massive purple dinosaur bellowed with rage, his jaw slamming into the dirt and breaking several teeth. Rex took a step forward, placing a clawed foot on Omega's top jaw and bellowing in triumph. Omega 09 winced in pain, snarling as his chest heavily moved in and out. With a sudden burst of energy, the massive predator pushed forward, knocking Rex off balance and slamming his jaws on his pelvis bone. Bone shattered as Rex kicked at the mutation, bellowing in pain.
Suddenly, a large, albino dinosaur lunged forward, taking multiple slashes at the monster's side. Dawn loosed a guttural bellow, her lungs heaving as she then charged forward, her brow horns slamming into Omega 09. The creature's ribs snapped, puncturing his major organs as Dawn lunged forward again, this time grabbing Omega's small arm in her jaws. With a spurt of blood, his arm was in her jaws, and soon, down her throat. The electrical mutant roared in fury as both Rex and Dawn attacked, tearing at Omega's soft belly and muscular neck.
At last, the creature was dead, its body mutilated and softly pulsing with electricity. Rex slowly reverted to his broken horned self, a wounded stallion with gashes and bite marks riddled across his body. Wincing in pain, Rex approached One Eye's lifeless body, worry sketched across his bloody muzzle. With a sigh, Rex placed a hoof on the tyrant's massive bottom jaw, gazing into the empty socket that once held a yellow eye alert for prey.
"It's over, Rex," Dawn assured with a soft smile. "You won." It was the first time that the hybrid was kind to the stallion, and any pony for that matter.
"Yeah, well he helped," Rex replied, nodding at the tyrannosaur before them.
"Uh, Rex, right?" Pitch asked, tapping his shoulder with a large, ash stained claw.
"Yeah?" the stallion replied, lifting an eyebrow.
"I think this battle is far from over," the drake said, pointing at the electrical corpse of Omega 09 with panic spreading across his dark grey muzzle. Rex turned, eyes wide in shock as the violet tyrant forced itself up, its snout rumbling as it growled, exposing bloodied teeth imbedded in a mutilated skull that painfully healed in a matter of seconds.
Rex smiled, watching as Dawn, Toucan, Unicorn Wizard, Venom, Berries, and the Ophiacodon approached, slowly, menacingly, and quietly. Omega 09 looked around him, snarling and snapping his massive jaws at the prehistoric ponies marching toward him. In a flash of blood red, vivid orange, and electric blue, Toucan flew around the monster, stopping periodically to allow the tyrannosaur to try and snatch him out of the air, only to feel a stabbing pain on his snout. Berries joined, biting Omega's shins and small arms with his toothy jaws. Rex watched as a massive shadow blocked his view of the sun before screaming toward Omega 09, slamming into the massive dinosaur and dodging a swing of its barb-spiked tail. Pitch let loose his rage, flames licking up from his eye sockets and the corners of his maw.
Rex joined the fliers, unleashing an earth shaking, blood curdling, guttural roar from his chest, throwing a fiery orange sphere of magic at his electrically charged opponent. A similar energy flowed from his nostrils in the form of smoke, each puff exiting thicker than the last. A glare formed across Rex's face that even Princess Celestia would feel nervous about upon seeing.
The Tyrannosaurus's horn glowed brightly, forming another ball of magic that launched itself at Omega 09, throwing the massive tyrant into a building with a plume of smoke and fire.
"GO, my ponies! Trap the beast in crystal!" Princess Celestia shouted pointing at the growling giant with a glare on her face. Rex stood at her side, nostrils flaring and chest heaving as the light of his broken horn flickered. The stallion watched as the Mane 6 hovered around the furious tyrant, dodging his snapping jaws as a brilliant, sky blue crystal slowly began to surround him. Rex snorted, confusion crossing his scarred muzzle as he watched the massive tyrant struggle to escape the crystalline prison.
"Why didn't you tell me about this BEFORE that monster reared its ugly mug?" Rex asked Celestia, taking a seat.
"For your safety. I knew that if you found out about it, you wouldn't stop asking me how to do it," the celestial pony responded, shifting her face from the battle, to Rex's piercing yellow eyes. The stallion's reptilian gaze gave her an uneasy feeling. A feeling of being hunted, of being the prey of some vile creature.
Celestia turned away, shifting her gaze back to the electrified giant before her. The beast was nearly completely encased in the shimmering jewels, and she began to feel relieved that it was almost over... And this time, One Eye WASN'T getting away from her.
At last, a hovering globe was before them, each pulse of violet from it's prisoner growing more dim that the last. All feelings of relief were soon diminished as the crystal sphere shuddered, bright flashes flaring. Another shake... An almost alien call echoed within the indestructible chamber...
A crack made its way across the crystalline structure, and a pair of small, black claws wedged themselves between it...
"Oh my God," Rex whispered, lifting himself up, eyes wide and pupils constricting as electricity snaked its way out of the globe.
"Th-that's IMPOSSIBLE!" Princess Celestia spluttered, horror stretching across her elegant face as the crystal ball shifted, electrically charged shards falling to the ground with a small spray of violet sparks.
"Your Majesty," Twilight Sparkle exclaimed, swiftly bowing... "It's not working," she continued, turning back to the globe as it shattered, the mutant tyrant bellowing in a mix of fury, pain, and annoyance. She watched as a long armed, albino dinosaur lunged forward, grabbed its jaws, and slammed it to the ground, stopping the creature mid-roar.
Omega 09 bellowed, kicking the Indominus Rex away with a furious snarl. Dawn staggered back, shaking her head to clear her vision as the mutant forced himself to his feet, jaws unhinged to reveal a bloody gape.
Rex growled softly as the massive tyrannosaur used its spiked skull as a battering ram, throwing Dawn from her feet... This time, it was Omega 09 who had his talons on the Indominus's hip, jaws hung wide open above her skull. The gleam of victory flashed in his glowing yellow eyes.
He didn't spot the wounded Tyrant Lizard King approaching him from behind...
A tremendous roar rang out, one feared by most, and loved by few. One Eye's jaws slammed shut on his creation's spine, snapping his backbone effortlessly. Triumphant, One Eye threw his opponent down, tearing flesh from Omega's ribs and throat with a crazed look in his good eye.
Slowly, the monster before them was transformed from the monster before them into a mutilated and scarred pony that slowly turned to stone before the kings eye. Turning, he noticed a glowing alicorn before him, elegant and beautiful, her horn and eyes streaming with a golden aura...
That was all that One Eye could remember before he blacked out.

1. Pterodactylus Macronyx is truly the scientific name for Dimorphodon!
2. Please keep in mind that Omega 09, while powerful, was too badly wounded to come back to life. In other words, it was so torn apart that it couldn't have survived, even without being turned into a stone statue.
3. I'm sorry that I haven't posted for a while! I started this chapter about 3 months ago and never finished... Until now... Again, sorry, and enjoy!
