You guys also complained that the I. Rex had a name. Well I ain't calling it the Indominus Rex the entire story! She's gettin' a name! Hence the name Lilith, since the I. Rex was once called the Diabolus, which has the root word 'devil'. Lilith is, in fact, a demon of Jewish mythology who was thought to be Adam's rejected first wife before Eve.
-Canterlot Archives-
The jagged horned unicorn walked slowly down the long aisles of the library, heavy beard and mustache hiding a look of pain with each step, a result of a not-so-nice crash landing after a rainbow colored vortex spat him at a marble wall. Unicorn Wizard paused, gritting his teeth to force back the pain that shot up his left hind leg with each step, an indication that it was broken.
Leaning against a book shelf, the stallion turned to look at the ancient tomes that lined said shelves. Unicorn Wizard cocked a brow and gingerly pulled a thick book from the shelf, flipping open its cover deep in thought. "Interesting," he muttered, squinting his eyes at the unrecognizable text that was spread across the pages yellowed with age. The stallion stroked his long beard in thought, a defeated sigh leaking from his throat as he tried in vain to read its pages.
Wincing under the effort, the former synapsid returned the book to the shelf before rubbing his temple to ebb away an oncoming headache.
"Spell book," an aged voice said, disrupting the old stallion's thought process. Unicorn Wizard shifted his view up to see a similarly aged unicorn with a white beard approaching him, cheeks pushed up in the form of a smile. "A spell book... Ancient, yet still of value," the stallion continued with a nod.
The former Dimetrodon stood back up, lifting a curious brow at the form the newcomer took. "Can I help you?" he asked, taking a limping step towards the opposing unicorn.
"Unlikely... But you seem to be in need to help," he acknowledged, nodding at Unicorn Wizard's awkwardly angled leg. "My name is Star Swirl... The keeper of Canterlot's Archives," the unicorn said, motioning around him. "Your leg," he started, looking down and pointing at the limb, "is broken."
"It happens," Unicorn Wizard shrugged, lifting the appendage with a slight wince. "I'm Unicorn Wizard... But I'm afraid I don't have a special title like you," the synapsid unicorn said.
"Unicorn Wizard... Walk with me," Star Swirl said, horn shimmering with a teal light that enveloped his leg. On cue, the bones melded back together. "I think that we have much to talk about before you and your cohorts can find a way to get back to Isla Nublar."
-Canterlot Throne Room-
Twilight Sparkled stumbled from the airspace to the tiled floor of Canterlot's Throne Room, spreading her wings to lighten up her landing a bit. The one she traveled with, a large unicorn mare with dark brown stripes and chest scales, was not so fortunate.
Rexy yelped as she tumbled to the floor, landing back first with a loud thud upon impact. The broken horned mare groaned in pain as she rolled over and forced herself back to her hooves before noticing the alicorn responsible for the change in landscape bowing with her snout almost to the floor.
The saurian mare cocked a brow before seeing Twilight rise back to her hooves before a tall, regally outfitted mare with a long horn and broad wings. Princess Celestia kept her eyes trained on Rexy in an almost judging manner, as if she was waiting for her to snap.
"Twilight Sparkle," the milky white alicorn said in a voice like a chime, ushering forth a nod back to her pupil before her gaze shifted once again to the fanged unicorn mare beside Twilight. "Who's this?" she asked.
"Princess, this is Rexy... She's not normally a unicorn and she's definitely not from Equestria," Twilight Sparkle replied.
"I can sense that," Celestia acknowledged, gazing at Rexy with a hint of skepticism.
The unicorn in question growled under her breath as another, darkly colored mare came to Celestia's side. She glared at the two celestials with no small amount of menace short of a Velociraptor, and disliked the vibes that she was receiving from the two.
"What are you, if not a unicorn?" the dark alicorn questioned, lifting a quizzical brow.
"A carnivore," Rexy grumbled, baring her teeth as if to prove her point. "A murderous reptile who creates havoc and suffering wherever I go. A Tyrant Queen."
Princess Celestia merely looked down on the glaring mare, horn beginning to hum as her sister leaned over. "I don't like the way she's looking at us," the Princess Luna whispered into Celestia's ear, eyes not moving away from the former tyrannosaur.
"She'll learn some form of manners... even if it's through forceful means," the celestial demigoddess replied.
Memories of Operation: Final Wars flooded Luna's mind at the words, largely the incident in which Captain Gordon lost his temper with Celestia and was thrown into the opposite wall. "You don't mean in the same manner as with Gordon, do you?" the alicorn asked.
"Exactly... But only if she becomes a little too aggressive for our safety" Celestia obliged before raising her voice. "You may be a queen from where you hail from... But this is my kingdom, and you are no queen here, or anywhere," she told Rexy. "And if you will not cooperate with us and wipe that glare off of your muzzle, then we are done here."
"WHAT?!" Rexy barked, eyes wide and jaw slack at her words. Shock was swiftly replaced with anger as the unicorn began to quake with building rage. "You can't be serious?! I didn't come here just to be shoved away by some fancy BITCH and her mumbling LACKEY!!" she snarled. "And let me tell you something, PRINCESS! I have not eaten for days, and YOU are beginning to look an awful lot like a fresh kill!"
Princess Celestia's eyes grew wide at the words, no attempts at hiding her anger being made. Luna shared her fury, eyes leaking with a blue aura. "Excuse me?" she said, taking a step towards the unicorn mare. "You mind running that by us again?"
"Gladly!" Rexy sneered, Twilight grimacing and moving out of the way as the two mares began to advance upon each other. One, with eyes streaming a blue smoke, the other, with pupils constricting to reptilian slits to reveal more of the yellow tinting of the iris.
Before either could do anything more, however, a loud knock echoed upon the tall twin doors of the throne room, stopping the two dead in their tracks.
"Thou may enter!" Princess Celestia hollered before wrapping a gentle golden aura around her sister and pulling her back to her side.
It was in this moment that Onyx, Obsidian, trailed by a heavily built Kirin stallion entered the room.
Rexy swung around with a growl to face the oncoming potential threat, nostrils flaring as a result of the battle build-up only seconds ago. It didn't take a wizard to tell that she saw Bastidon and instantly recognized the heavy tail club and tank-like build. "You," she sneered at the Kirin.
"Uh," Onyx said, retracting his hoof steps to leave. "This seems like a bad time," he muttered with wide eyes, followed by his son.
Bastidon stopped in his tracks, slight fear overriding his senses and causing him to instantly collapse, legs tucked under his body and spinal fur standing on end. The stallion growled a warning, tail swinging back and forth in a display that no pony could recognize.
No pony except Rexy, that is. She could recognize the threat from her hardwired ability to sense a defense mechanism and act accordingly. Bastidon, unfortunately, seemed to have forgotten a distinct lack of body armor in an equine form, even if his skin was tougher to pierce than that of the average equine.
"Obsidian... GET DOWN!!" Onyx shouted, forcing the pegasus to the floor as Rexy charged towards the former Ankylosaurus with a roar.
Just before the unicorn could clamp her jaws down on Bastidon's back, a powerful, searing magic tore her away and slammed her into the opposite wall, holding her there momentarily before Celestia cut her magic off. Rexy fell to the floor with a growl, gasping for breath as she struggled to her hooves. Blood trickled down the corner of her mouth and her entire left side had already begun to bruise upon impact.
"Get her out of my sight," Princess Celestia barked, waving at the unicorn in a 'go away' motion.
As if by magic (how coincidental), three celestial guards barged into the room, shoving Rexy back down before forcing heavy shackles around her hooves and one thick manacle around her neck. "NO!" the unicorn snarled, struggling against the guards with little success. "You can't do this!"
"But I can," Celestia said, approaching Rexy slowly and with menace. "And as I said before... you... are no queen here," she whispered, leaning down and looking the former Tyrannosaurus in the eyes.
Rexy snarled before magic from one of the guards locked her muscles in place, her glare never straying from the alicorn princess. "You're lucky I'm not full sized right now," she sneered as she was dragged from the room. "YOU WOULDN'T'VE LASTED MORE THAN TWO SECONDS!!" The call sounded more like that of a rumbling bellow than it did comprehensible speech, a deep, echoing growl from the back of Rexy's throat chasing the words down like a wolf among sheep.
"I highly doubt that," Celestia grumbled to herself before turning her gaze to the three stallion's that had entered the throne room only moments ago. "Now that that issue is settled, who is it that we have here, Onyx?" she said, her expression softening. "Obsidian, good to see you again."
The pegasus bowed slightly, the circuits in his brain still frazzled and eardrums still beating away at the roar that Rexy had unknowingly unleashed in his ear. "The same to you," he replied before rising to his hooves. If anything, it interested Obsidian as to who, or what, he had just faced.
"Princess," Onyx started, interrupting his son's thought process. "We came from Ponyville with whom I presume arrived here under similar circumstances as that unicorn, based upon his size and appearance-"
Blah, blah, blah, blah, Obsidian thought with an eyeball as he blocked out his father's words, curiosity slowly building in his system. Looking out the door of the throne room, he could see the the foursome that left the room moments ago rounding a corner.
Cocking a brow and looking over his shoulder, the pegasus slunk from the room and, almost hesitantly, crept after the ponies, beating his wings slightly in an attempt to remain as quiet as he physically was able.
Rounding the same corner that the guards had seconds ago, he spotted Rexy trudging with a noticeable limp in her step with the heavy shackles around her hooves. Pity overwhelmed the sense of alien fear he was feeling, and he courageously approached the four ponies with a look of slight worry.
"Is she okay?" he called out to them, trotting to come to their side.
"Obsidian? What're you doing here? Your father's not going to be particularly happy if he finds out your near this thing," one guard pointed out, tugging the chain slightly as the unicorn lifted a shackled hoof with a pant and pained grimace.
"I'm fine," the pegasus heard the mare growl through a thick muzzle that one might place onto a wild dog's snout.
"Are you guys going to heal her?" Obsidian asked.
"If we can get close enough to her without the shackles, maybe," another acknowledged, nodding at the pegasus with a soft smile. "You are right to be concerned. Nopony, equine or not, should be treated like an animal." At the words, she hesitantly lifted a hoof to the muzzle. Rexy ushered a warning growl, pulling her head back slightly with a rattle at the chains.
"Don't do that," the guard stallion ordered, pushing her hoof down with his own and shaking his head.
"Yes, Sir," she addressed, moving back to her position on Rexy's right.
Obsidian looked back up at the unicorn prisoner, curiosity forcing him to take a step towards her and lift a hoof, despite the nagging fear that begged for him to move away. Again, the saurian flinched, but allowed him to bring his hoof to her short mane and gently stroke it, despite its rough feel.
The mare looked into his red eyes with a squint, a curiosity of her own developing at his fearlessness before she felt the yank of chains around her neck.
"Let's go," the male guard said, beckoning Rexy forward.
The former Tyrannosaurus obliged with a shrug, accidentally brushing up against Obsidian's wing in the process.
Obsidian let his gaze wander as he thought about the unicorn, her broken horn, sharp teeth, chest scales, and thin fur. She was definitely odd, he couldn't deny it. But she also withheld a kind of beauty that seemed contrary to the fearsome tyrant that she was. Well, perhaps beauty wasn't the right term. It was more of a word that one would use to describe a motorcycle driver, of monster that he remember his father telling him about while he was in Neighpon. "Damn, she's badass."
It was in this moment that Onyx came skidding around a corner with a glare on his face. "Obsidian!" he exclaimed. "What were you doing?"
"Talking to Rexy," he shrugged.
"What?! Why? I don't want you talking to her! She's a carnivore that would kill you if she had the chance," Onyx scolded, poking a hoof at Obsidian's shoulder. "Of all the mares to be ogling anyway, why her?" the mechanic scoffed.
"What?! Pervert, I wasn't thinking about her like that!" Obsidian shouted in his father's face.
Onyx laughed, nudging his son's shoulder with a grin before his smile flatlined. "I'm serious, though; Stay. Away. From her. Do you understand?"
"Yeah, sure," the pegasus acknowledged, stepping away from Onyx with a shrug.
-Edge of the Everfree Forest, Southern Outskirts of Ponyville-
The hybrid saurian looked up at the trees that loomed over her head like an evil hand reaching out to grab her. She could feel pain
A rumble from her stomach reminded her that it was hanging like an empty sack in her body and needed nourishment. Not only was the Indominus Rex hungry, but she was hot too, unbearably hot. She was used to a sheet of scales on her body, not a fur coat and long mane. Above anything else, the newly formed unicorn wanted a fresh kill to fill her belly and cool breeze to ruffle her fur. It didn't help that her attack on the strange pony last night was a decisive loss on her part, which resulted in an additionally lost meal.
Thinking about this, the dazed unicorn mare didn't notice the shape that glided above her head...
-Above the Everfree Forest-
The large red dragon cackled with glee, a spurt of flame licking up from his maw as he beat long, membranous wings. The dragon could almost feel the warm, pony flesh slide down his throat and taste the sweet taste of blood on his forked tongue.
Letting out a bestial roar, the dragon folded his broad wings tightly against his body and fell into a dive, wind lashing at his face as a hardly visible mach cone developed before him at the speed of his decent. With a shake in the earth, the dragon landed at the edge of the Everfree, startling a unicorn mare in the process.
The dragon laughed in a rough, reptilian voice as the being he frightened leapt aside, her fear one of the few pleasures that the drake had in his life.
Growling, Garble swiveled to face the pony, forked tongue sliding over his lips as he glared daggers at her. "Weeeell," he hissed. "You'd make a nice mouthful, now wouldn't you," he sneered, taking a step towards her with a ravenous look in his eyes.
The Indominus Rex growled, stomping a hoof and digging it into the ground with a snort.
"Your pathetic show of defense doesn't faze me, pony," Garble grinned, splaying his claws.
"Pony?" the hybrid questioned in a voice that defied the fact that she was a mare, lifting a brow and looking down at her body. "That's what you call... whatever the hell I am?" she queried, her typically angry demeanor melding into one of befuddlement.
Garbles eyes popped wide momentarily before he keeled over and started laughing in a malign cackle. "Ar-are you bloody serious?!" he laughed, wiping a crocodile tear from his eye. "Yo-you're so pathetic," the drake grinned demonically, propping himself onto his elbows in preparation to rise to his hooves.
He was stopped by an immense pressure upon his chest. Opening his eyes, he looked into the flaming eyes of a massive, snarling albino unicorn, a firm hoof denting in his thick chest scales. "Pathetic?" she sneered, peeling back her lips to reveal the serrated, ivory daggers imbedded in her jaws. "Do you REALLY think that was such a good choice of words?" the Indominus barked, bloodied saliva lathering her fangs.
Garble felt a brief wave of fear before the realization hit him. This being, no matter how hellish her eyes seemed or menacing her voice was, was simply a pony. "Actually," he coughed, snorting smoke into her face. "Why not?" With that, he rolled away, the unicorn losing her stance and stumbling for a moment before the red dragon leapt up and beat his wings once to put some distance between the two.
With a roar, Garble lunged towards her neck, jaws wide and ivory claws splayed. His foe uttered forth a tremendous bellow in retort as he approached, rearing up just as he came forward. Roaring again, the unicorn slammed her hooves back down when his skull was just inches from her torso. The attack threw Garble into the dirt, sending a small spray of soil up before she herself lurched forward.
With a growl, the Indominus charged the dragon, swinging around and slamming her jaws down onto his neck before he could react. With strength far exceeding any unicorn, she heaved him back to his clawed feet and crunched down with her jaws, teeth piercing his tough scales with a spurt of red.
Garble shrieked in pain as he choked for breath, his own blood pooling in his jaws as he fished his claws between his neck and her teeth. With a growl, the drake managed to pry her off, his new goal to force her jaws far enough apart that they would snap.
A toothy grin slipped across Garble's muzzle as the Indominus roared in frustration, blood beginning to creep from the corner of her mouth. With one last straining growl, Garble yanked.
Just before the action played out, the Indominus slammed a hoof into his chest, knocking the breath from his lungs and throwing him off of her. The unicorn grimaced and flexed her jaws before swinging her head to face the gasping dragon with a glare that demanded obedience even from the most ill behaved. With a snarl, she advanced towards him, nostrils flaring and hooves kicking up clouds of dust.
Garble looked up with fear before feeling an excruciating pain on the top of his snout. Roaring and screaming in pain, the realization was slow to dawn on the dragon through said pain. The unicorn teeth were buried in his snout, blood trickling down and dripping onto the ground under hoof.
The mare sneered before whirling around, with Garble still in her jaws, and slamming the relatively young drake into the dirt.
Releasing her hold on his snout, the I. Rex growled, placing a firm hoof onto the top of his skull. "You made a bad choice," she purred in his ear in a voice that defied the use of the word 'purr'. With that, the massive mare clamped her jaws around his neck again. Garble struggled, but her hoof remained on his snout, the other on his shoulder, and forced him into the ground. Her neck muscles prepared to deliver a killing blow that would separate the vertebrae of his own.
Before the motion could take place, a roar sounded off overhead, tearing her attention away from the mauled form of Garble.
Clump and Fume looked down at the unicorn with synonymous looks of confusion and anger at the size of the mare and what her fury had wrought. The two glanced at each other before roaring again and diving towards the duo of pony and dragon, striking the ground with a dull thud.
The Indominus glared at the two with a displeasing roar, taking a step back and baring her teeth.
Clump came to his boss' side and helped Garble to his feet while Fume approached her with a vile smirk. "You won't survive much longer than this," he snickered, pupil constricting into slits. "The boss wants you dead, and he's gonna get his wish," the biped growled, forcing the unicorn back into the trunk of a tree.
Had Fume known how dangerous a cornered dinosaur could be, he probably wouldn't have been so quick to back her up. When he did finally notice that the dinosaur-turned-unicorn was growing much more aggressive, it was just a tad late for him. With a growl, the Indominus charged forward, head low. Her head struck his upper chest with surprising force, robust, forked horn sinking into his shoulder.
Fume shrieked in pain as the mare pulled away, horn stained a deep crimson. A twisted grin crossed her face as Garble pulled from Clump's grasp, who followed en suite, and surrounded the unicorn. "You are no pony," he sneered, raking his claws across her face. She shouted in pain as blood ran down three horizontal gashes across her left cheek. "You are Lilith masquerading as a demonic unicorn!" the dragon shouted, throwing a fist at her shoulder.
The mare was thrown down, her breath coming shallow as the dragonetic trio began to close in on her. Just as the first hint of flame began to build in Garble's maw, a roar like thunder echoed forth from above, a black silhouette eclipsing their forms.
The juvenile delinquents looked up at the horrifyingly familiar appearance of demonic, curved horns, interlocking fangs, and scales stained black with ash. Before the three dragons could do anything more, however, a series of higher pitched screams and smaller shadows grew apparent.
Like a king leading his soldiers to battle, the massive black dragon was being trailed by dozens of small wyverns, nasty creatures with nothing more than a pair of hind legs and wings to walk on. Pitch uttered another bellow, a spurt of flame streaking from tremendous jaws and tearing apart the already sparse clouds before it.
Garble, Fume, and Clump began to backtrack into the forest, fear diminishing any sense of greed or pride that they were formerly feeling. "Let's go!" Garble barked to his cohorts, turning tail and sprinting into the trees, Fume and Clump hot on his heels.
The massive black dragon arched his wings, holding them in a tight formation that would allow for the creature to plummet into an effective dive. Whereas the younger dragons folded their wings completely, Pitch new better. He'd had hundreds of years of experience flying. A roar echoed out of a thick pair of jaws as he spread his wings back out feet from the ground and landed, the impact of his landing and his weight shaking the earth beneath his claws.
The Indominus Rex glared up at the black dragon with boiling hatred as he stood with his back to her, a flock of smaller wyverns circling above like vultures.
With a snort, the Dragon Lord turned to face the unicorn, a gust of hot air and smoke billowing from his maw and nostrils. Pitch squinted at her lack of fear before a deep voice rang out. "Why do you not run? Do you not recognize the impending doom that you face?" he questioned.
"Doom?" the mare snorted, her eyes beginning to leak with a faintly luminescent, violet aura.
"Yes, doom!" Pitch roared, lunging towards her with gaping jaws, the back of his throat glowing a bright orange.
The unicorn leapt aside, fangs bared as the dragon charged forward. Though she avoided the ivory daggers that interlocked in Pitch's jaws, she wasn't fast enough to avoid the dragon's tail as it scraped against her chest and threw her across the road into the Everfree.
The wyvern's above screamed with glee as the thought of an easy meal plagued their minds. Pitch would do the killing, and the marauding dragon's would drive him away with annoyance.
Meanwhile, Pitch uttered a demonic laugh as the hybrid unicorn forced herself to her hooves with a groan, eyes flickering with hatred and violet energy slithering from her horn in tendrils. Before Pitch was able to react, she rocketed forward, her form changing as she approached.
Several changes took place as she charged the dragon; her mane and tail disappeared, in their place were thin quills and a long, thick tail were visible. Her front hooves were swiftly positioned so that she stood in a bipedal stance, hooves being replaced by sharp grey claws. Her snout grew in length, a pair of robust brow horns sprouting up and her nasal ridge growing more bony and rough. The final, most prominent change was her size. When the transformation was complete, she was easily the size of the Dragon Lord.
The newly formed Indominus Rex uttered a hissing roar, jaws wide before she slammed her jaws down on Pitch's neck. The dragon bellowed in surprise more than he did pain as she thrashed her head back and forth, clawed forelimbs gripping his shoulder blades and skull. With a grunt, she pulled her head back, tearing a shred of flash from Pitch's neck.
Pitch howled in pain and rage before twirling to face her and rearing up onto his hind legs in what could best be compared to an enraged bear. Pure rage became alight in his system before he threw his weight forward, shoving the Indominus Rex down with a bellow. Flames began to erupt from his eyes as he grabbed her by the chest and effortlessly lifted her off of the ground in his jaws.
The hybrid shrieked in pain as his fangs pierced her thinly armored breast before the dragon attempted to hurl her away. She wasn't having any of that, and clawed at his throat and skull while kicking his belly and chest with a barrage of angry roars and growls.
The dragon dropped his foe with an agonizing bellow, stepping back a few feet and shifting his gaze down at his wounds with a grimace. They hadn't cut too far into him, but his breaths still came ragged at the gashes that covered his chest. "You dare assault the King of the Dragons?!" he snarled at her, leering back up at the genetically altered dinosaur as she dragged herself back to her claws.
The Indominus Rex didn't verbally respond, but the glare that she returned were the only words that Pitch needed. The carnosaur ushered forth a rage rilled scream, and the two charged towards each other.
-Canterlot's Archives-
"Unicorn Wizard, I have been many places... and I have seen many things. A being such as yourself, though, never," Star Swirl the Bearded explained as he walked alongside the former synapsid. "The only beings that I know of who possess a jagged horn are the notorious changelings, and you, are clearly no changeling."
It was only than the Unicorn Wizard actually looked himself over. His coloration, patterns, and horn were the same as he remembered. His horn was jagged, hide dark pink with black markings that made the pink look like splotching, but the form they belonged to was all but foreign to him. He was not the Dimetrodon that he recalled, but rather a unicorn stallion with a medium length, grey beard. "What does a changeling look like?" he asked with a frown.
"They have an almost insect-like appearance about them, with a tough exoskeleton, hole-filled hooves and wings, and fangs," Star Swirl replied as they rounded a bookshelf corner.
The two walked in silence for a time before the royal wizard came to a halt. "Ah, here we are," he exclaimed with a soft smile, hoof beginning to trail over the lines of books before he grabbed at an old tome and diligently flipped the pages open. "Nnnope, this isn't it." With that, he closed the book and returned it to its residence upon the shelf. "Um... Unicorn Wizard? Can you help me look for 'Methods and Spells of Cross-Dimensional Locomotion', by Clover the Clever, please?"
"I can't read," the synapsid said with a sigh.
"That's all right, might you look for the book via pictures then?" Star Swirl smiled, patting Unicorn Wizard's shoulder.
"Of course."
-Ponyville-
The Indominus Rex and Dragon Lord rolled among the streets of Ponyville like wrestlers, clawing, biting, and kicking each other with growls and roars. A torrent of flame was misguided by a shove to the jaws that Pitch had been on the receiving end of. The flame had collided with a residence at the edge of the town, resulting in an explosion as the building collapsed into a heap of rubble.
Pitch swatted away his adversary's jaws as she made a lunge for his throat before feeling the claws on her feet rake away to the softer scales of her belly. The dragon roared in a picture of pain and unholy rage before breaking away from the Indominus with a gasp, blood during steadily from his wounds.
To say he looked bad was an understatement, he looked horrendous. Many bites pitted his hide and wings, the membrane torn. One wing was broken, evident in the fact that it hung limply by his side, the other ripped. Several of his beloved teeth were broken when his albino foe had slammed her head into his jaws, and his tail was kinked, suggesting it, like his wing, was broken.
If he was horrendous, the Indominus was absolutely terrible. She, not having terribly thick scales in comparison to her foe, was covered in shallow burns that sizzled the flesh that was unprotected by her melted scales. Her right arm hung limp and lifeless by her side in a show of a fracture and her hide was covered from nearly head to tail in claw and deep bite wounds.
This fight needed to end. She couldn't keep fighting for long, and Pitch knew it.
In a show of force, Pitch inhaled before a tremendous roar rang forth, flames developing in his throat.
The Indominus roared back, and before Pitch could respond, she rushed headlong across the battleground, head low. She made impact with the Dragon Lord's chest, the crack of ribs ringing above the pained gag that Pitch uttered as he was thrown down. In another roar, the hybrid clamped her jaws down on his neck and attempted to thrash her head to pierce his throat and break bones.
Before any such thing could happen, Pitch kicked the dinosaur off of him before leaping back and spreading his wings. In spite of his shattered wing, the dragon flapped it with great force and grit his teeth under the effort, taking to the skies. "I will have my revenge!" he shouted in a voice that sounded like thunder as he beat his wings and flew away. "You won't survive me again!"
The Indominus Rex watched as her foe and the swarm of wyverns flew away, her breath ragged and blood running down the corner of her mouth as she fought against the blackness of unconsciousness. Before long, she collapsed, a beaten and bruised unicorn mare. The unicorn tried to struggle back to her hooves, but with a broken leg and ribs, the strain was too much for her.
The mare fell into a heap as a young orange pegasus and cyan pegasus approached her. "Ma'am?!" the older mare said with worry, flying to her side. "Scoots, go find help!" she ordered the filly, pointing towards Ponyville with panic on her voice. "Ma'am, you're gonna be okay, help is coming," the pegasus assured as she turned her attention to the wounds that lined her side.
"I'M FINE!" the hybrid snarled in pain as the mare gently moved dirt away from one such wound, snapping her head up and slamming her jaws shut inched from her wing.
"Whoa!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, leaping into the air with a frown. "I'm trying to help you!" she scolded.
"I don't want your help!" the Indominus sneered before forcing herself to her hooves, pain rocketing up her spine and leg. The unicorn cried out in pain and collapsed, breath coming in shallow, ragged gasps.
"You gotta name, Miss Snotty Britches?" Rainbow Dash scoffed, placing a hoof on her hip.
"You gotta death wish?" she grumbled in response, her own blood beginning to soak into the ground beneath her.
"What's your name?" the pegasus asked again, rolling her eyes. She didn't bother retorting. Being a stunt flier, she was asked this more often than she care to remember.
Remembering what she was called by the younger dragons, the mare responded. "Lilith."
This name put Rainbow Dash on edge. Lilith was a notorious demon from mythology who represented aspects of darkness like terror and sensuality. The mare having this name was not invoking the nicest of feelings from the Element of Loyalty. If anything, it made her distrust the massive mare before her. "Lilith?" Rainbow Dash repeated in an attempt to make sure that she wasn't deaf.
'Lilith' didn't reply.
As Rainbow Dash opened her mouth to ask again, Scootaloo came trotting to her side, trailed by a nurse who was fortunately not busy aiding in calming the panic that had ensued with the building that Pitch had blown up. "I gotta doc!" she exclaimed, huffing for breath.
"Kay. And, hey, Doc... Be careful, she's aggressive," Rainbow Dash told the nurse.
She gave a polite smile before going about her business. "You needn't worry," she said, pulling medical supplies out of a saddle bag and leaning down to swab one of Lilith's wounds.
Before the gauze made contact, the unicorn whipped her head around with a snarl. "Don't touch me!" the former dinosaur snapped, lips curled back to expose her yellowed teeth.
"I'm trying to help you," the nurse cooed, hiding well a sense of fear. "If we don't tend your wounds, you could die of blood loss. If that doesn't happen, they could become seriously infected," she explained, lifting a hoof to try and calm the mare enough to help her.
Lilith glared at her skeptically for a moment before flopping her head down in a submissive manner. "Hurry up... Before I change my mind and you become a meal," she grumbled.
The nurse smiled before wading a bit of gauze and gingerly pressing it to the Indominus Rex's wounds.
