-Unknown Place and Time-

"Nice place, this is." One Eye grunted in satisfaction, scanning his surroundings. "I must say, Ophiacodon... You have done well in aiding my escape from that wretched reverse world." he told a unicorn mare standing beside him.

"Thank you, but what of my revenge? I am becoming impatient." the former synapsid asked the tyrant stallion.

"Once you have that fool of a Dimetrodon, my brother will be powerless to stop me." One Eye snarled, glaring at the Ophiacodon unicorn with his good eye.

"Yes, King." the evil sorceress replied. "I can't wait to get my-" She was suddenly interrupted by a deep growl leaking from the unicorn's throat.

"DO NOT call me KING!" the tyrannosaur stallion roared. He then, only slightly, changed his tone of voice. "It reminds me to much of that ignorant Rex. Instead, you may call me Comrade." One Eye said, still softening his tone at the former synapsid's expression.

"Yes, Ki-I mean One Eye." she replied, correcting herself.

"One Eye will work too." the mare's partner said.

"One more thing though... Before I go off in search of the enemy... I thought that you didn't have a brother?" the Ophiacodon questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes well, not technically he's not. He's more like a mere copy of my awesome self... Only without the awesomeness." One Eye acknowledged with pride.

"I have to agree with you on that." the mare replied with a mischievous grin.

"Good... Now go. Capture the Unicorn Wizard for me and you will do the honors of KILLING that stupid, spiked lizard." the unicorn growled, beckoning the mare away.

-Canterlot-

"Nice wings." Bill Redwood said to his long lost nephew with a slight smile on his face. "I didn't know we had a butterfly in the family." he continued, ignoring the glare that Onyx fired at him.

"He's my butterfly... My handsome butterfly" Scarlet Blitz said with a smile, loosely wrapping her arms around the mechanic.

With a whistle, Red's eyes grew large at the sight of the pegasus. "She's a keeper." Bill whispered into Onyx's ear. The pegasus stallion nodded in agreement.

It was then that a loud alarm rang in the ponies' ears. The fire alarm... "What the hell?!" Onyx yelled over the sound, his mane and tail bristling at the rarely heard noise.

Red leapt to his hooves and limped to the medical wings exit. With a quiet grunt, the lumberjack yanked the door abroad and took a peek outside the room. Ponies in the halls raced passed the door. Instantaneously, he slammed it shut and lowered himself to the floor. "Uhh. Onyx! You might want to get down!" he yelled.

"Why?!" the stallion asked, puzzled with his uncle's expression.

"Okay. Who's bright f***ing idea was it to let a DINOSAUR loose in the castle?!!" Bill shouted, seemingly ignoring Onyx's question. Suddenly, the door violently shook, followed by a loud, supernatural scream.

Almost as sudden as the vibration, the thought dawned on Onyx... Obsidia wasn't with him. Without hesitation, the father rose to his hooves and went to open the door.

"NO!" Bill told him. "Now, let's not be hasty... There is a fifteen foot long dinosaur out there looking to make somepony it's FOOD. I can not just let you go out there.

"My daughter is out there. God knows when the thing will find her. Let me out!" the mechanic ordered.

Red didn't have time to reply before a thunderous bellow and a high pitched shriek prevented him from even being able to hear his thoughts. With that, the shuddering against the door stopped. Onyx pushed by his uncle and swung the door open. All that he could see was the legs of a reptilian beast. Triangular shaped claws were imbedded in each heavily muscled foot.

"I thought you said it was FIFTEEN feet long!!" the mechanic yelled, slamming the door.

"What are you talking about?!" Bill replied. "Move back." he commanded, swinging the door open. The smaller dinosaur he had been speaking of was standing right in front of him, a flaming frill of skin shuddering and it's jaws unhinged.

Before it had the chance to attack, however, the larger saurian attempted to clamp it's jaws on the Dilophosaurus. The crested carnivore leapt back and shot a bullet of black saliva at the Tyrannosaur's eyes. The venom made it's mark, infuriating the seven ton T Rex.

Aimlessly, the prehistoric behemoth swung it's head back and forth before collapsing. The dilophosaur leapt out of the way before racing from the fallen tyrant.

Bill Redwood stood there, his eyes wide and his jaw hanging down. "I guess we were both right." Onyx said, patting his uncle on the shoulder before cautiously approaching the Tyrannosaurus.

"DAD!" a voice called. Onyx turned to see his daughter running to him with a worried yet relieved smile on her face. Leaping into her father's arms, Obsidia and Onyx remained in this position for several moments before a stunned Scarlet Blitz joined them.

"I thought I lost you." Onyx whispered, a single teardrop falling to the cracked marble floor.

Obsidia was the one who broke the position, seeing the massive dinosaur beside them. Stripes, along with bloody slashes, ran down the length of the animal's back. What really stood out was the "JP" on it's hip.

"R-Rex? the pegasus whispered, reaching a shaky hoof to his venom concealed eyelid. The sudden movement of the predator's belly caused Obsidia to jump.

Instinctively, Onyx reached for his daughter. "Obsidia, get away from him." he told her as she laid a hoof on the dinosaur's belly. A sad expression crossed the teenager's face as she took a step back and turned around.

"You were right, Dad." she whispered as her father held out his arms. "He... is a monster." she continued as Onyx wrapped his arms around her.

-One Hour Later-

"JEEZ! How much does this thing way?!" the stallion grunted to a partner. "I'm gonna have to get back surgery after this!" he continued, taking a single step forward.

"I... Don't... Know." the other pony responded. "I wasn't paid to do THIS. I was paid to do CLEAN UP." he groaned.

"This is clean up... It's just not the clean up we're USED to." the stallion grumbled.

"I better get a DECENT pay check after carrying a seven ton LIZARD out of here." a different pony grunted.

"Ya think?" one agreed.

"Let's just hurry up and get this thing out of here before my spine collapses." a corresponding pony growled. "I can't believe Celestia wouldn't get us a UNICORN to LEVITATE this beastie out!"

-Canterlot Dungeon-

Rex lifted his head and forced his eyes to open. Despite the burning sensation caused by his opponents poisonous saliva, the former saurian could see. Rex exhaled a sigh of relief as blurry shapes slowly came into focus. Including the iron bars imbedded in the concrete floor before him.

"What the hell?" he muttered to himself, shaking the bars in an effort to break free of his small prison.

"HEY! You there! Sit your ass down!" a guard yelled, approaching the unicorn stallion with a scowl across his face.

Rex glared up at the guard pony and uttered a quiet growl. "Are you threatening me?" he suddenly snapped, startling the stallion. "Don't tempt me." Rex growled.

"Whatcha gonna do about it?" the guard taunted with a overly confident smirk on his face.

"Gentlecolts... Now is NOT the time to fight." a dusty brown pegasus said, approaching the quarreling stallions.

"Colonel Obsidia!" the guard exclaimed, swinging to face her. Without hesitation, he clicked his hooves together and swung a hoof to his forehead.

"At ease." the tall mare said with a smile, nodding to the armored stallion... "I see you have met our most recent PRISONER." she said, turning to Rex. Her smile vanished at the sight of the broken horned stallion. The thought of what damage the pony could cause gave her the chills. She was all to familiar of what a furious unicorn was capable of.

The colonel glared at Rex. Rex glared right back. The guard mare couldn't help noticing the yellow, snake like eyes that looked at her with a cold, icy stare.

With a shudder, Colonel Obsidia spoke. "There is somepony who would like to speak to you, Mr...?" She paused and gazed at the pony for a moment, trying to remember his name.

"Rex." the unicorn grumbled, letting himself fall to his haunches with a sigh.

"Okay then... Rex." the pegasus then turned to the guard stallion. "Let her in." she commanded.

"Yes Ma'am!" the pony responded, saluting the superior officer.

Colonel Obsidia turned back to Rex with a stern expression. "What'd you do to get yourself down here? I thought that you were the new guy?" she asked as the guard returned with a light brown pegasus behind him.

"Obsidia!" Rex exclaimed with a smile, jumping up and reaching through the bars to try and hug her.

"Don't touch me!" Obsidia shouted at him, reeling back.

Flabbergasted, Rex took a step back and gazed at her with a confused expression. Obsidia stood there, a frown on her face and her head held high as if she had authority over the stallion.

"What the hell are you doing?" Rex growled at her. "C'mon! Bail me out of this place!" he said.

"Why didn't you tell me?" the pegasus asked sadly. "About your... true form?" she continued, taking a step forward. Rex guiltily gazed down at the colorless concrete and reflected upon how he thought that he could finally have a family.

"We're just gonna go now. Let me know when your done." Colonel Obsidia spoke up, grabbing the guard by the collar of his uniform.

"But it JUST started to get interesting!" the pony whined as his superior officer dragged him away.

"Where was I?" Obsidia asked herself.

Rex responded, though he knew she wasn't speaking to him. "Making me feel like a terrifying monster that can't understand what it's like to have a family?" he said, giving her a remorseful expression. "Don't worry though... By now I'm used to it." he continued, turning his back to Obsidia.

The pegasus snorted before turning to walk away. "Guess it was just a phase." she muttered, barely loud enough for Rex to hear.

At the sound of a door slamming shut, Rex turned his head, his vision blurred with tears. "I guess so." he whispered, lowering himself to the cold floor.

-Half an Hour Later-

"You must be Rex..." a voice growled, waking the dozing unicorn. "I must say though... I expected a mighty Tyrannosaurus. Not just a mere prey item."

A bolt of fury shot through the stallion like lightning. With an enraged bellow, Rex shot up and swung around to face a tall unicorn, a taunting smirk on his face. "How did you find me?!" Rex snarled, glaring at the newcomer.

"Simple... I could smell you. I could smell the blood from your jaws in much the same way you find your dinner." the pony hissed spookily. Rex raised an eyebrow. "I apologize. I have not yet introduced myself, Rex. I am One Eye."

"How did you know-?"

"Your name? Another simple answer... I am your mirror self." One Eye said, not giving Rex the chance to finish his sentence.

"Leave me alone." Rex grumbled, sitting down.

"I can sense something in you... You have been emotionally hurt by someone." the strange unicorn said, ignoring Rex. "How's it feel... To be hated, feared, not loved?" he continued.

"I said LEAVE ME ALONE!" Rex boomed, lunging at the bars of his prison.

"Now, let's not lose our temper, shall we?" One Eye said, taking a step back.

Rex let an irritated snort exit his nostrils and sat down. "What is it you want with me?" he growled, glaring up at the stallion. It was a moment before the scarred unicorn answered.

"Tell me, Rex... How does it feel when the one you love, loves you one moment, and then abandons you the next?" he replied with a gloating grin.

A sad frown covered Rex's face before he spoke. "It feels like a raptor pack attacking you, not stopping until your dead." he whispered. One Eye nodded and sighed.

"What if I told you that I could free you from this prison?" the stallion then asked, not adding the plan to kill the heart broken unicorn.

"Thanks but no thanks." Rex replied, turning his back to One Eye.

"Still love her, eh? Well, she doesn't love YOU." the mirror Rex growled, slowly becoming more impatient with each word that the broken horned stallion threw at his face.

"Go away." the large pony muttered, flopping to the concrete. Dust flew into the air and stuck to his mane like a magnet.

"You are starting to piss me off!" One Eye snarled through clenched teeth.

"Now, let's not lose our temper, shall we?" Rex grumbled, mocking what his scarred counterpart had told him earlier. An invisible smirk crossed his face as One Eye angrily bellowed. "Temper." the caged stallion chuckled, taunting the unicorn.

"ENOUGH!" One Eye boomed, furiously swinging around to leave. "You will DIE!" he snarled, angrily stomping away, his legs rigidly moving with his body.
