Train Wreck
“Hurry up and get that door open you idiots!” yelled a gruffy looking Colt. “We need those ponies as hostages for when we stop at Ponyville.”
“You think we don’t know that? Why don’t you try to open it yourself if you’re this pressed for time?” said a buff looking griffon trying to pry the door open.
“Out of the way! Let a real colt show you how it’s done.” The same gruffy looking colt said as he tries to open the door. Just as he was about to try and open the sealed off door, the door quickly bolted off from the doorway and sent the poor colt flying off into a seat.
“What the-!?”
“Now!” Amy yelled through the door as a burst of adult size bubbles flew through the doorway as it began to capture anyone that was inside of the train cart. Once the dust had settled, Amy, Applejack, and Sweetie Belle entered into the room to see if the plan worked. “Wow, didn’t think that my plan would work this well.”
“You mean you just thought that up and didn’t think of the outcome of it?” Applejack asked.
“Like I said before I’m under a lot of pressure at the moment. Right now we need to do that same thing as before with the other bandits up a head.” The Blazing Heart said as she motion for the two ponies to follow her.
“I don’t know whether I should be worried that you’re doing this on the spot.”
“Unless you have a better idea, then be my guess. But for now get ready for the next train cart assault.” She said as she peeked over at the window carefully. Once she got a good view of the next room, The Blazing Heart could see three more stallions in the room and looked over at Sweetie Belle. “Okay, there are three stallions in the next room. We’ll do the same as before, but this time I’ll distract them while you bubble them. Sounds like a plan?”
“I still think it a stupid idea that you just thought up.” Applejack said as she moved on the other side where Amy was.
“Look, let’s just get out of this alive so you can lecture me about this later.” Amy said as she busted the door open and fired a fireball at the nearest stallion in the room, only for him to duck out of the way. “Sup losers!”
“You bitch! That could’ve burned my mane off!”
“That’s the plan idiot. What are you going to do about it?” Amy asked as she notice two of the unicorns horns beginning to glow. “Oh….forgot about the whole unicorn thing.” Barreling to the left, The Blazing Heart took cover near the nearest seat next to her to avoid the magical beams from the unicorns.
“We got her pinned down. One of you go over there and take her out-.” Before the stallion could finish, he was soon cut off mid sentence by Sweetie Belle casting a bubble onto him along with the other ponies as well within the room. “What the hell!?”
“Nice job Sweetie Belle.” Amy said as the little filly smiled in triumph. “Now we only got four more train carts to go-.” Before the Blazing Heart could finish, she along with Applejack and Sweetie Belle felt the friendship express pick up speed. “What the?”
“About time they got this thing kicking into high gear.” The Bandit said as he got the attention of both Amy and Applejack.
“What do you mean by that?”
“We’re planning on crashing this train into Ponyville station before we jump off and leave you idiots to die in this train.”
“....You do know that it wouldn’t work, right?” Applejack asked. “How many of ya’ll varmints are on this train?”
“Ten, why?”
“Sweetie Belle, how many did you trap in that bubble magic thing of yours.”
“Counting these three, about nine of them.”
“So the only one left is the one in the engine room which is all the way up there.” Amy said as Applejack nodded. “Okay, guess we’ll have to head up there and deal with the bandit in the engine room. But first, we need to get Cheerilee and the rest of the class in here.”
“Why in here?”
“Because we’re going to put the bubbled bandits into the room behind us, seal it, and then unhook it.”
“Okay, that can work. But what about anypony else on the train?” Applejack asked.
“Same as before, only we don’t seal this room up. Now given the fact that it takes about two hours to get to Ponyville at normal, it should take about an hour or less given how this train is now picking up speed. So we have at least three options.”
“And those are?”
“Option one, I’ll have to use one of my attacks to blast the engine room and destroy it. Option two, we rush up there and stop the train manually-.”
“Ha! Good luck with that. Power Cord pretty much broke the breaks on this train once it hit enough speed to cause a lot of damage to both the train station and parts of Ponyville.” The bandit said as he was soon punched in the face by Amy and sent bouncing around the room like a rubber ball in a close space.
“Well I guess option two and three are out of the picture. Guess we’re going with your plan on destroying the engine room then sugarcube?”
“Seems like. Sweetie Belle, you’re in charge in getting everypony on this train into this room. If you can get the other ponies to help you with the bandits and getting them into the room behind you, then that will be very helpful. Can you do that?” Amy asked as Sweetie Belle nodded. “Once you do that, unhook the train car from each other and try to wait for Celestia to get here.” She said as she begins to make her way to the engine room before looking over at Applejack. “Mind coming with me incase this guy is too much for me?”
“Was planning on going with ya anyway sugarcube.” Applejack said as she begins to follow Amy to the engine room leaving Sweetie Belle to do her part. “You think this plan of yours is going to work?”
“Well it’s better than anything else we got. Would you rather have the ponies working at the train station get killed by this runaway train or just have it be destroyed and no pony gets hurt….well minus the bandit in the engine room.”
“Fair enough I guess. We might get in trouble with Princess Celestia and Princess Luna.”
“Possibly we might. But given the situation we’re in, we might get off with just a slap on the wrist or community service…..my money’s on the community service thing really.”
“Well it’s better than going to the Canterlot Dungeon. I’ll take the community service then time in prison.”
“Same. Anyway look alive, we’re getting up to the engine room.” Amy said as both she and the farm pony prepare themselves to storm the engine room. “Okay once we knock this pony out, we’ll drag him out and I’ll blow the room up with my magic.”
“I hope you aren’t going to use it at close range sugarcube. I would prefer for you not to get hurt or anything.”
“Since when did you start worrying about my well being?” The human asked as it caused Applejack to become flustered and blush.
“I-I’m your friend aren’t I? It’s my job to make sure you don’t do anything reckless that could or might get you killed.” She replied back.
“Since when have I gone and done something like that?”
Now was when the farm pony folded her arms and gave Amy a deadpan look on her face. “Nightmare Moon would be a perfect example of that don't you think?”
“I mean other then that one time.”
“Your plan of trapping the bandits in Sweetie Belle’s magic bubbles?”
“....Okay, so maybe I can be a bit reckless at times….But you can’t say that it didn’t turn out bad in the end right?”
“Amy… to be fair, you’ve done so many things that are beyond daring to the point that you make ‘Reckless’ sound like your middle name,” Applejack sighed. “Besides, you gotta have somepony watch your back in situations like these.”
“Okay, now that’s a bit of a stretch with my middle name being ‘Reckless’ don’t you think?”
“Well as of right now, your plan is to use Sweetie Belle’s magic to have all of the bandits be captured and placed on the back end of the train, while it should be figuring out how to get the whole darn thing to slow down so it doesn’t explode when we reach the train’s next stop.” Applejack told her in response. “Now, are we gonna stand here and chat, or are we gonna do something?”
“First of all as that stallion said before, his friend pretty much broke the breaks on the train.” Amy clarified, looking at her friend now. “Second, blowing it up before it hits Ponyville is the only option we have going for us at the moment. Third, already went over the plan on what we’re doing now to get inside.” The Blazing Heart said as she knocked the door down to the engine room, rushed over to the bandit controlling the train, and using the butt of her claymore to knock him into the door to the thurnest. This caused the unicorn to fall to the ground knocked out.
“Uhh… Amy… If you blow it up before it hits Ponyville… you do realize that’s going to derail everypony else right?” Applejack asked. Unsure if Amy actually thought of that in her initial thought process.
“I know, why did you think I told Sweetie Belle to unhook the train car once she was done getting everypony in the room we were in remember? Seriously, you need to pay attention to what I said before....you feeling okay?”
“Honestly… I’m worried… I know you have a plan in place, but if something goes wrong, ponies will get hurt… my sister is on board this train… I wouldn’t forgive myself if anything happened to her.”
“Look I get that you’re worried about your sister and all. But given the situation we’re in, we’re pretty much out of options,” Amy reminded her. “When Sweetie Belle unhook the car she’s in, she along with her classmates will be safe as they slowly begin to slow down seeing how it’s not attach to the train anymore. Once that’s taken care of, I can blow the engine room up and we can get off. The train will stop slowly possibly causing a few property damage, but it won’t kill anypony in the train station so long as they aren’t in front of it.” Applejack… after thinking this over for a moment… then decided to go to where one of the unconscious bandits was and pick up what resembled a shotgun off the floor as she looked back at Amy.
“Okay… What do we do next?”
“Simple really.” Amy turned her attention at the thurnest as she opens it and begins to make the fire inside of it form into a ball and begins to grow. Once she notices it was starting to grow, she quickly closed the door to the thurnest tightly and placed a hand on Applejack’s shoulder and smiles casually. “We run like hell. Because in a matter of one minute, this thing is going to blow.”
Applejack… honestly did not know what was going through Amy’s mind to make something like this actually okay. But preferred not to question it. Right now, they needed to do what the Blazing Heart said to do. Run like Hell.
“Well? Don’t just stand there like a deer in headlights. Let’s go!” Amy yelled as she motions for the apple farmer to follow her. Both of them bolted out of there faster than a group of Wonderbolts in the middle of a race as the time on the explosive began to count down.
Tick… tick… tick… tick.
BOOM!!
“Huh, didn’t expect it to go off that quickly like that.” The human said as she opened the door to the back of the train car that Sweetie Belle was in. Just as she did that, she would see that the room they were in before was far away down the track that lead towards Ponyville. “Okay with that taken care of, we just have to jump off...hope you’re good with rolling out of a soon to be burning train?”
“Uh… Amy…” She said, pointing out something that was coming up. And that was the fact that the explosion severed the tracks and where they would need to jump… is into a lake several stories below. “Did you plan for jumping into the lake?”
“I was planning on using my fire magic to support our fall, but I think jumping into a lake would be better.”
“Then let’s go!” Applejack told her, already running for the edge and leaping off into the waters below.
“.....I really wish my mom didn’t take me out of swimming class when I was in elementary school.” Amy took a few steps back before running and jumping off the train and into the water below as well. Once she dived into the water, she began to try to make her way up to the surface but was having problems keeping her head up. “Can’t….swim...Help!”
That was when she felt somepony pull her out of the water and lay her flat on the ground. “I gotcha, sugarcube… you’re safe now.” Applejack said as it caused Amy to blush and hold onto the farm pony tightly.
“T-Thanks….Um...mind not telling anyone that I can’t swim?”
“Define anyone.” Applejack asked, pointing to the side… where Sweetie Belle and everypony else on board the train was. “Because I think they already know…”
“.....I should’ve stayed on that train.”
A bit of silence was drawn over the entire group… until one random colt soon shouted out of nowhere. “Oh, JUST KISS ALREADY!!”
“....Yeah sugarcube, I think we both should’ve stayed on that train.” Applejack said as she tilted her hat to cover up the blush that appeared on her face from that statement.
“At least it can’t get any worse right?”
“What are you two doing?” They both soon heard a familiar voice as they turned to see both Sandy and Cindy looking directly at them. “And don’t say ‘it’s not what it looks like’ because right now… it definitely is what it looks like.” Both Amy and Applejack look at each other for a moment before looking up at the two androids floating above them.
“It’s not what it looks like.”
Off in the distance near the mountain of Canterlot. There on the edge of a piece of earth sticking out of the mountain with binoculars watching the event unfold was a girl with white silvery hair, wearing a black and white outfit that looked like it came from neighpon.
"It's been twenty years since you went missing Amy, and here you are in a world full of technicolor cuteness." said the girl with nine tails licking her lips. “Finally, you and I can be together at last without anyone to get in our way. Wait for me my love, for you will be mine and mine alone and no one else's!”
