Chapter 11: Celestia
Previous Chapter Next ChapterFeralt sighed in defeat.
"Might as well get this over." He thought aloud. He turned around and jumped off the bed.
"Sir!" Redheart yelled "You're not-..." She paused as Geralt stood up without help. He turned his neck around, cracking his bones, and stood on his hind legs, stretching as he did back home, though his new body wasn't designed for it. He took the armor off the wall and put it back on, as well as he equipped his sword. Geralt saw Redheart with a wide, open mouth in awe.
"Faster healing." He simply answered "Comes in very handy with my life. Care to lead me to your leader?" Readheart shook her head hard.
"Uh... yes. Please, follow me, Geralt." Geralt followed the mare around the castle. As he expected, guards stood at every doorways, but there were no Thestrals around, only Earth Ponies, Unicorns, and Pegasi. Many of the guards stood there, almost looking blank, while others' watched Geralt pass by. A few silent minutes later, Geralt walked into the same large throne room where he meet Luna, only now, it was brighter, and the stained glasses gave him the evidence that he needed to confirm that those six mares were the heroes of this land. He then saw Celestia, sitting on the throne. Celestia was an Alicorn like Luna, but she had a white coat, a flowing mane & tail that had blue, green, & pink stripes, wore a golden crown & necklace, a sun mark on her flank, and perjhaps the thing that really caught Geralt's eye, was how tall she was. He roughly estimated that, he was about the same size as Twilight Sparkle, and Celestia, though roughly, was actually twice his size.
Damn! That's a tall Horse. He thought to himself. Celestia sat on her throne, and near the steps were the two idiots that stopped Geralt from entering.
"Please!" The first spoke "Your majesty, have mercy!"
"After you scrub all the floors in the castle, then we'll talk about mercy." Celestia replied in a motherly tone. "Now, what did you two learn?"
"Never judge anypony by their looks." They both replied in unison.
"Good, now, do your task at hoof." They both got up and bowed respectfully.
"Thank you, Princess." The second spoke. They both ran off, passing by Geralt. Celestia saw Geralt.
"I apologize for what happened yesterday. I'm sure they've learned their lesson."
"Considering I have the eyes of a species that used to suck blood in their sleep, I don't necessarily blame them." Geralt replied. "So, you're Princess Celestia?"
"I am. And you're Geralt of Rivia?"
"I am. I must say, you weren't what I was expecting."
"I can say the same to you. I thought you'd be taller."
"And I thought you'd be smaller." She chuckled at his comment.
"Yes, my size can make anypony weary around me. Yet, I don't sense you're weary yourself. I take it this isn't your first time around royalty?"
"You can say that. Of course, it is my first time to hear crowds wanting my services."
"Yes, I heard about your little... incident." A maid approached to her, holding a tray with a tea set in her mouth. "Thank you." Celestia took the tea & plate off, sipping from it. The maid bowed and walked off. "Care for some tea, Geralt?"
"... Why not?" A door opened and some ponies came in, quickly setting up a table, followed by a chair for Geralt. Celestia walked off from her throne and approached the table. As she sat down, another maid came along and quickly set a pillow, seconds before Celestia rested her flank. A butler came and set up tea for the two.
"Thank you." He bowed and left. "My Subject, Applejack, told me how you saved her sister's life from Timberwolves with your magical sword, and Twilight Sparkle, my prized Pupil, told me you successfully slayed a dragon." She sipped. Geralt sipped his tea; it was probably the most delicious tea he had ever sipped.
"First thing's first. My swords aren't magical; they can be enchanted to perform better in certain areas, but oherwise, they're normal."
"Oh, then why do you carry two swords? May I see them?" Geralt gave Celestia a stern look. He unsheathed his swords and placed them on the table, pointing at them.
"The Steel sword is what I use against 'normal' enemies. But, since I'm in a world where creatures have sentience, I'm probably not going to use this as much."
"And the other?"
"My silver sword. I use it to slay more magical monsters. This, I will most likely use in my time here."
"And that's the same sword you use to slay the Timberwolves and Dragon?"
"The Timberwolves, yes, but the dragon, I allowed him to live."
"A monster hunter that allows a monster to live?"
"No, I'm a Witcher, and it was a beast, not a monster. I only slay monsters, magical and sentient."
"Really? And who were some of these Sentient monsters you slayed?"
"I'm probably looking at one now." That comment alone made the place go silent. Celestia's calm look withered down.
"What makes you say that?"
"Someone who's a leader by telling everyone they have the ability to control the sun. I have dealt with your kind before; Tyrants. I've worked for them before, and I'm certain that, magically, you're powerful, but having the ability to control the sun itself? Bullshit."
"... I have no idea where you came from, but it is my duty to move the sun and watch over my subjects as it is my sister's duty to raise the moon and watch over hers."
"Yes, and brainwash your subjects to always bow before you both and keep your status as 'Princess'. Tell me, where's your mother, the queen?"
"...She passed away thousands of years ago, right after Luna was born."
"...I apologize. But shouldn't you be a queen now? Princess is a title meant for little girls, or young women still under their mother's rule."
"I know, but I refuse to change it. My subjects are fearful at the title of Queen, and my sister & I rule this land together, so we haven't changed our title at all."
"Hm... understandable."
"And I'll demonstrate to you on how I control the sun. Blink it and you'll miss." Her horn glowed with a yellow aura. Geralt quickly grabbed his sword, ready for combat, but Celestia didn't even move. Without looking back, the sun moved quickly, the sky rapidly changed to the night sky, back to the morning that they were in. Geralt stared in shock.
What the-!? He thought She... she just-! No! It can't be! There's no way she- He noticed Celestia smirking, followed by a sip of tea. SHE DID!!!
"Told you. Now, lower your sword, I want to chat with you about your friends and task at hand." Without a word, Geralt followed, sitting down and placing his sword on the table. Celestia gave him a map, marking locations on the map. "Your friends are approximately around these locations: the Outskirts of Ponyville, Griffinstone, Manehatten, The Crystal Empire, Appaloosa, Trottingham, and Froggy Bottom Bog. Like you, Geralt, they too have changed into our world's species, so finding and recognizing them may be hard for you."
"Maybe, but if I can recognize myself, despite being a horse that can only be ridden by virgins, I may recognize them just as easily. If not, then they will with me."
"Good, and, as for your... crowd problem, I have a spare suit of armor that will disappear once you're out of the castle."
"So when I'm away from the crowd, I'll be exposed again?"
"Yes, but I'm certain that, once you're out, you can truly begin what you need to do. That is, unless you can cast magic or are willing to wait."
