Another day, Another adventure

Most ponies saw Canterlot as the place of sophistication and royalty, and while they were right, they also looked over that, despite being ran by two god-like rulers and are safe from many of Equestria's creatures, they were still at the mercy of nature. The streets boomed with life as ponies made their way around the streets, going to whatever it is they needed to do, but the thing that was different was the snow falling from the sky. It was normal for Canterlot to receive snow, but during summer, this was unheard of. Most would assume that it's some local pegasi or an accident happened at Cloudsdale, but the traveling city of Cloudsdale was nowhere to be seen, and many of the pegasi preferred the warm sun instead of the snow. They assumed it was nothing, but as the saying goes, 'Ignorance is Bliss'. Princess Celestia, the ruler of Equestria & controller of the sun, watched from one of the windows, seeing the snow fall to Canterlot.

It's getting closer. She observed This is not meant to happen! Oh please, let them be- the door opened, as one of her many guards entered.

"Your majesty!" he huffed, running to Celestia. "Your men! They're... they're-"

"Are they alright?" Celestia asked, trying her best to stay calm.

"...Only one made it back."

"May I see him?"

"I'm sorry, but he's badly wounded."

"Did he say anything?"

"The only thing he muttered was for his mother. Celestia, what was it that you sent a dozen soldiers for? What threat is coming now?"

"I... I don't know, lieutenant. Those twelve were my best men. What happened to the others?"

"...Two others were with our survivor. They couldn't make it; their coats were pale as their eyes, and their hooves cracked like that of ice. Whatever it is that did it to them, it's something we can't handle."

"I see."

"... Your majesty?"

"Yes?"

"Should Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends handle this? Or, perhaps, you or any of the other princesses?"

"...Princess Twilight is busy at Ponyville at this moment, Cadence and Shining Armor are dealing with this threat with us, and Princess Luna is helping me with this threat. I can feel this winter's power. It's... much more powerful than most blizzards, and I fear that not even my association with the sun can help us out."

"...What are you going to do? And what is causing this?"

"...What is your name?"

"Uh... Lieutenant Crow's nest, ma'am."

"Remember the history of our land? How Hearths warming was made?"

"I do indeed. Heard about it as a foal, shared it with my kids. What does this have to do with this situation?"

"What were those creatures called. In the story?"

"... You're not say that... the wendigos are back, are you!? Shouldn't the flaming heart be working?"

"It should. But... I don't think they're strong enough to battle or even stop the heart. Something, or someone, is helping them."

"Do you want us to investigate?"

"...No."

"But your majesty-"

"I know what I said. I don't want to risk anymore lives than I already did, and I don't believe that Twilight and her friends will be able to handle this."

"Then... what are you going to do?"

"That... is what Princess Luna is doing." He tilted his head

"Care to explain?"

"Anypony can be a hero, and as much as we want to, we can't have a hero at this time, nor summon one. I apologize, but I've seen many potential heroes die before they make it to their goal. A hero isn't what we need, but a professional."

In another world, a village laid underneath nature's hard, pouring rain. Many of the homes leaked inside, children ran outside, not caring as their mother planted & harvested plants, and the men did whatever they could to fix their homes or make a living for themselves. This small village in particular was once terrorized by something that would come at night and kill their cows, ridding them of milk and meat, but not anymore. Approaching the village was a hooded man on a chestnut steed, and next to steed's side, hanging onto the saddle, was a sack, holding the decapitated head of the creature that terrorized the village, slowly bleeding. The village's leader saw the man enter the village and approached him.

"Oi! Witcher!" He yelled "Did you get the bastard!?"

"I did." the witcher replied, getting off his horse. "It wasn't easy, but your village's cows should be safe now."

"Well? What was it!?" The Witcher took the sack off and gave it to the village leader. He opened it to see a humanoid looking creature that had teeth that resembled knives, it's lips permanently curved into a smile, multiple scars across it's face, and pitch black eyes that, were it not dead, could look into anyone's soul. He cringed at the sight.

"It was a Nekker, big one might I add. Seemed intelligent enough to target your cows and grew larger than most of it's kind. If I hadn't come, not only would all of your cows be dead, but you all may have been mauled to death."

"Ech! Thank you, Witcher. We will never forget you." The witcher extended his hand out.

"My pay." The village leader nodded.

"Uh... yes! Pay, almost forgot." He took out a small bag that jingled with gold coins. The witcher took it. "Oh, I forgot about your name. What was it, sir?" The witcher turned around and mounted his steed.

"Geralt. Geralt of Rivia." He made his steed, Roach, gallop faster, and both man and horse headed back onto the road to another destination. Very people know of this, but despite Geralt taking on multiple jobs that would kill hundreds of men, he was on a single mission; Save Ciri from The Wild Hunt. To him, Ciri was the whole world: despite being a witcher and not being able to have children with any women, Ciri was like his daughter, and he wanted to make sure that she was safe, no matter who he had to kill and no matter what task was at hand. He knew Ciri was capable to take care of herself, but with Wild Hunt after her, she was going to need all the help she could get, especially if it was from her father. While this was his plan to find Ciri, it wasn't to be, as Roach stood on her hind legs and whinnied in fear.

"What the-!?" He yelled to himself, holding onto the horse's mane. "You stupid horse! What's wrong!? There's nothing-" A swirling vortex opened up in front of him. "Well, shit. Portals." He turned got off Roach and approached the portal.

Unless this is Yennefer or Triss's work, He thought to himself someone or something's gonna pay for- before he could finish his though, the portal began to suck him and Roach in.

"Damn it!" He turned around and tried to outrun the suction, but it was too strong, even for him. Roach ran as fast as her hooves could carry her, and Geralt was fine with losing another horse; it was already stupid in many ways and he had enough coin to get another. The suction, however, became more powerful with each second. He struggled, but with one bad footstep, he was sucked into the portal along with Roach.

Geralt slowly woke up to the sound of birds chirping and the wind blowing. He was blinded by the sun, making everything blurry, but soon, stood right up.

"Ugh... I hate portals." He commented to himself. Looking around, Geralt saw himself near a lake that was surrounded by a forest. Though the forest was dark, light came in around the lake, making the water glitter. "Where am I? And... why do I feel so different? Roach? Roach!? Ech, stupid horse." He placed his right hand in his mouth and whistled, but his hand felt more rounded, almost like a bowl.

"Master!?" A woman's voice asked in the forest. The clip-clopping of hooves were heard, and Geralt saw what was a horse approaching to him. When it stopped, however, it still was chestnut with a brown mane & matching eyes like that of roach, complete with a saddle & harness, It wasn't. For starters, it's eyes were much larger than what it should look, with three small rectangles popping out that resembled eyebrows for women that Geralt saw in many caves, and it's muzzle wasn't long, but very small, making it have a more round head than a true horse shaped head. The next thing Geralt saw was it's hooves; while the horse-like creature in front of him stood on four legs, it's hooves were fat & round looking, and on both flanks, it had a mark that had a saddle, mirroring itself on both flanks.

"Master!?" It yelled in that woman's voice. "Master!? Where are you!?" It ran around in circles, trying to find Geralt, though he stood there, completely shocked.

Is that... Roach? He thought to himself Why did she change? And... how is she speaking?

"Uh... Roach?" He spoke. The new Roach stopped, looking around.

"Master!?" she asked, looking around. "Where are you!?"

"Right here." Roach turned to see Geralt, standing a bit taller than him, but were nearly eye-to-eye with each other.

"...You're not Master."

"Yes I am. I'm Geralt of Rivia, the witcher that rides you, Roach."

"You... have his voice, but you look nothing like him."

"What do you mean I look nothing like-?" He looked in the lake but froze as he saw his reflection. He was now a horse like creature that the talking, changed Roach was, but with differences. The fist thing Geralt saw was all the changes for his new body: he still had the scar that traveled over his left eye and the other that was on the edge of his skull while hanging over his right eye. His eyes were the same yellow-orange, cat shaped irises, but, just like with Roach, they were larger than what any regular horse's should be, making himself look, though very embarrassing, cute than threatening. His hair was replaced by a mane, but it was the same gathered & tied behind style, white when he was human, and his face was still clean shaven. Popping out of his skull & mane, was a swirling horn that didn't look sharp enough to act as a knife, but act more as something to poke something with or have different abilities to it. His armor was nearly the same; he still had a steel sword & a silver sword in their sheaths, but he had no gloves, boots, or pants, but instead, the same fat & round hooves that, just like his eyes, made him look adorable. Looking behind, he had a long, white tail that matched his mane, and on both flanks, he had the Witcher Wolf as a mark. All over his body, he was covered in light gray fur. Geralt realized that he had became a horse-like creature.

"If you excuse me," Roach spoke, turning around "I must find my master."

"... I am your master!" Geralt shouted, snapping back into reality

"Oh yeah! Give me proof!" Geralt's horn glowed as he performed an Axii, one of his spells he uses to either get people to do what he wants or to make enemies his temporarily allies. This calmed Roach greatly. "...Master? Y-you're... different."

"Yeah. So have you, Roach. I can hear you talking now."

"Talking? That's what this is? Master, I've spoken to you multiple times, and never had you listened to me."

"Probably because we weren't the same species."

"What about the elves and dwarves, master?"

"...Ok, fair enough."

"Where are we, though?"

"I have no idea."

"This isn't the first time we've been lost, master."

"Yeah. Come on, we don't to encounter any Griffins or Dragons while we're here."

"Yes; They frighten me."

"Of course they do." Geralt took his first step, but fell into the dirt, face-first. "...ow."

"Are you alright, master?"

"Yeah. Just need to get used to having a body of an equine now. Hold still." Geralt leaped onto Roach's back. As a human, he would have no time mounting, but as a horse thing with a horn, it took him ages to try to get himself to sit normally onto Roach's back, and that's not including the fact that he now had to hold both harnesses into his mouth, all thanks to his lack of hands.

"Mmm... Master, you feel so... good on my back like that."

"Oh shushuh!" he spoke with the harnesses in his mouth. "Ge hoohee!" Roach Whinnied again and trotted her way out of the forest.

Whoever did this is going to pay. Geralt thought to himself I just hope Cirir and the others don't hear about this.       Next Chapter: What world is this? Estimated time remaining: 2 Hours, 10 Minutes
