Chapter 71: A saved life
Previous Chapter Next Chapter"More to drink my dear?"
"Laying it on a bit thick arent we Love?"
Sunset leaned back, the picture of beer like a child's toy in her giant hand. Her ever knowing wife's heated glare bouncing off the fiery haired Alpha like water off a ducks back.
"....No thank you."
"Bit early to be getting sloshed aint it biggun?"
"Gilda! Forgive her, she takes after her Father."
"Ha! Owned!"
"Piss off Gabby..."
"Girls please, we are in public and guests to some of favorite people."
Lifting her pint, Chrysalis took a slow drink her almost glowing green eyes haunting over the mugs brim as she eyed the trio across from her.
"We are still calling you, people, right?"
Gorrz snorted under his breath, the human turned Immortal leaned over the table, his posture pure threat.
"Watch it. You bring any thing down on my family I WILL make you regret the wrath I bring down on you. I aint bad enough we done caught ya'll stalking us like bags of meat, to think for one damn minute you know ANYTHING about our Pack..."
"G, down boy."
Grumbling, the huge male leaned back under Sunset's cool, confident gaze. Adagio for her part seemed as much bored as the Beta male was upset by the scene. Having managed to retreat from the local big-box in favor of getting lost in public, the sports bar a fitting cover. Checking her nails, the prime and proper Siren smirked and gave a cruel look to the Mother and her Daughters crammed into the tiny booth.
"Our dear Beta is correct, but perhaps a bit preemptive in how he said it. You would do well to keep your mouth shut. We wouldnt want anything...bad to happen to your pretty little girls, now would we?"
Giving a throaty groan at her Wife's antics, Sunset Dazzle leaned back and huffed into her beer.
"Babe, trying to have a civil conversation here."
"Oh trust me Love, we are."
Gilda looked from her oblivous Sibling to her Mother. Gabriela was no help, that was nothing new, but she could almost feel the stress pouring off her Mother. The street thug in her wanted to just fight and get it over with, but considering her possible opponents all dwarfed her in more ways then one, the leather clad tomboy thought better of it. Her gruff voice croaked out a meager threat none the less.
"Some talk, your three over sized...whatever you claim to be, have done nothing but threaten us."
"What would you expect deary? You followed as and stalked us like some hunter seeking prey."
Adagio finished her words with ruby toned eyes snapping to the trio's Matriarch for emphasis, locking onto Chrysalis.
"I love my Sister, very, very much Doctor Pluto, I EXPECT that your actions are and will NEVER become a threat to her, or her coming brood. Less this mass of man meat at my side finds a reason to take exception."
Sunset could only sigh and cross her thick arms under heavy bosom as she watched the drama play out. Caught off guard by the sudden appearance of her family Doctor was one thing, but to find her young in tow and with clear knowledge of who and what they where, was not helping the tension her third beer was trying to settle.
"Enough, Pluto cut to the chase, what is it you want?"
The sound that chirped from deep in her throat was almost insect in nature, a clicking of bones a human should not have to say the very least.
"I wish to be there to help Mrs. Fang give birth. My only concern is for the well being of her young. They are so very small, so tiny, fragile..innocent."
"Tell that to the eighty pounds the hefer has packed on."
"Not helping right now Dagi."
His ham like fist closing all the tighter around his already strained mug, Gorrz lowered his voice to the level of a feral snarl.
"Whhhy?"
Blinking at this, the black fleshed Doctor snapped her gaze to the huge Beta, her head cocking in confusion at his defensiveness. A frill of flush ran her cheeks as the tall female looked away and cleared her throat.
"A female, should never be alone in child birth...I.."
Stopping herself, she looked away and cleared her throat before waving off her Daughters duel attempt to comfort her.
"Perhaps threatening your families secret was a bit...aggressive, but this is important to me..to her, please."
Silence fell across the table, both Sunset and Adagio looked to Gorrz in question, it was call after all.
"She..doesn't trust you, I don't trust you...but I trust a Mother. Always."
