Chapter 28: A puppy filled day

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

"Oh! You two are here, ahm..it is a bit early, but that's ok...if it's ok with you that is..."

The tiny pet store's door chime had alerted the busty yellow women of a guest. Only to find her best friends filling the snow filled doorway. Combing back the sheet of pink mane, Fluttershy did her best to smile but felt a quiver run her meek spine at the cold outside.

"Yo girl!

"Greetings little one, as always a pleasure to stop by your establishment. We could never denie Sunray a puppy lick."

"OH! You brought her! Oh Rayray!"

Scampering as fast as her womanly frame would allow, Shy quickly wiped her hands on a soft green apron with the symbol and name of her shop on the front. "Soft purrings". Rainbow hated the name, but it was oddly popular amongst the younger crowd, that and since Fluttershy had a open "pet yourself a fluffy little one" policy, many a children dragged they're parents in, with many a homeless furrys finding a home.

With a wild and proud grin, Sunset waved a hand at the orange and yellow bundle in her tiny wife's arms. Lifting her chin, the tomboyish biker turned Mother could only grin when her friends swooned over her pride and joy. The fiery haired female crossed her leather clad arms as Adagio for about the hundredth time instructed Fluttershy how to hold Sunray. For her part the mousy women took to it like fish to water, the maternal instinct almost poured off the pink maned shop owner.

"So..."

Being joined by her wife whom promptly wrapped an arm around Sunsets fat hips, the leader of the Rainbooms glanced around.

"What did you want to join us? You don't open till 10 right?"

Snapping from the cooing, coddling, and face make pose she had over the squealing bundle in her arms. Fluttershy looked up with a soft smile and flipped her hair back out of Sunray's reach.

"Do follow me, I wanted you two here before I opened...ahm...because it might, oh..well let me show you."

Sharing a glance, the mated pair shrugged and followed with hands clenched.

"Doesn't this remind you of..."

"Five years ago?"

Sunset let out a husky chuckle as the memory burned bright in her minds eye as they followed Fluttershy into the back.

---

"Fluttershy! Shy! Hand me that hammer would you!"

The Rainboom leader barked her order, as she dangled nearly upside down from a ladder. Her narrow back and flat hips splayed over the top of the said ladder, tank top clad body nearly soaked in sweet as she labored over fixing the top of the recently purchased shops main entry way.

"Eep! S..sorry Sunny! I was just looking over the catalog for pet accessories! Look at this one!"

Holding up the newly printed book, Sunset cast a un-amused glance to the offered page. Sweat rolled her face as the images of overly cute pet carriers and little sweaters filled her gaze.

"Shy..."

"Ohh, I know. I suppose it is too soon, but they are just so cute!"

"Yes, yes they are. But your loan only just cleared and we have a lot more work, and more important things to buy. Your lucky most of the animals will be coming from Applejacks farm, that girl has more barn cats and mice then she knows what to do with. Should get you started. Now, get me that hammer before I melt under this sun!"

Fluttershy giggled at her huge friends antics. The biker gleamed in the sun, a diet of meat and beer showed in the muscles that rippled her still femine frame. Shy worried about the few exposed ribs that shown through the sweat soaked shirt, but after trying to talk to Sunny about it the silent treatment she got for the next few days warned her the fiery haired female was sensitive about her weight.

"Ugh..come on..you...dirty...slagging..HA! Got it!"

With a rather athletic leap from her perch, the Rainboom leader landed and stomped a boot for extra emphasis.

"Wow! Sunny, it looks...amazing!"

"Ha, thanks girl. Like I told you when you brought this idea to the table of having your own shop last year, I was all in to help in any way you needed."

"Oh you mean when we ran into the..S...Sirens?"

Sunset cringed at the meekness in her friends voice. It was true, after high school ended and college began for many of the Rainbooms, they had seen neither hide nor hair of the Sirens. Until that fateful winter night in the alleyway when Sunset had found them, nearly starved to death.

"Yah..."

The rest of that winter had been...awkward for the Rainbooms to say the least. Sunset refused to leave the Sirens out in the cold to die. Despite protests from Rainbow Dash, Applejack and Rarity, and on top of that a warning from Princess Twilight. She took them in. Which turned Sunsets tiny apartment into more of a prison camp with one or several of her friends "stopping by" every-single-day. Once recovered enough to not sleep all day, only to wake up to eat, it shocked Sunset just how proactive the Sirens became. It was the ditzy giantess of the group that was first to offer getting a job to "like help pay for stuff..and stuff". Her purple Sister didn't take to this idea as well, and was rarely seen around the flat, only to be found out hustling teens for pocket change by Adagio. The Siren leader seemed the most out of character, she had turned in on herself, becoming soft spoken, reclusive and just defeated in nature.

Yet oddly enough with a early spring and Fluttershy getting to purchase her shop, with a bit of work needed before opening, it was the hermit like golden Siren that offered her help first. By then Sonata had taken up a part time, turned full time job at the local fast food restaurant. Aria had been lost after getting screamed down about her shacking down pups for there milk money, and instead had taken to hiding out at the local boxing club. She had shown amazing talent in the ring and was currently in talks with a three piece suit wearing, brief case carrying, business man of some type. The purple grump had kept the details to herself, as well as having taken up smoking, much to the regret of her house mates.

Sunset for herself still worked at the same machine shop she had all through high school. With spring here she was finally in talks to get her own hog, and hopefully get the recovering Sirens out of her home. Not that it had been all THAT bad. Long winter nights of strained silence had given away to oddly cute "movie nights" talks about Equestria being the most surreal, as it was only as if that moment the four realized they all came from the same land. Adagio jumped at this, eager to learn all the details of what modern society of her old home held. She and Sunset would often be found in the early hours of the morning, huddled close with mugs of coco, whispering, evening giggling. The two seemed to have a odd bonding. Perhaps being broken, battered and defeated to the inch of your very life, had that effect. Yet it could also relate to the fact, both where natural leaders and understood the burden they shared. Either way, as the snow melted, it was very common to spot them together at stores, pubs, or just Adagio sitting and reading while Sunset worked on the skeleton of what she hoped to be her pride and joy, "Olga".

"Shy, listen. I know she scares you, but Adagio really wants to help. She enjoys your company, I will have you know. Despite that smirk of hers, try and get along ok? I really don't want Dash threatening to punch her lights out again. I can't handle that again."

".....You two have gotten close."

"Uh?"

"Well..eep...I mean, she and her Sisters have lived with you for almost six months. And recently I don't think I've seen you two apart. Arent you...worried, she is up to something?"

Sunset felt an odd instinct burn in her gut at her best friends words, a low growl passed the large women's lips.

"I trust her Shy. She and I do spend a lot of time together, but we..we share a lot of things. A lot of...pain."

Her blue eyes shot open in sheer terror as the early twenty something yellow shop owner plowed into Sunset with a bear like hug.

"Oh Sunset! Forgive me! I..I know how hard it must be for you, to be here, with us. I am so, so, so sorry!"

Feeling her back pop in a few places the muscled biker sighed and returned the hug, despite her lungs begging for air.

"Do you two need a minute alone? Mind you, I would LOVE to watch?"

The sexual purr of Adagio Dazzle caught the two friends in a duo of scarlet cheeks. Fluttershy immediately let go of her friend and retreated behind the wide shoulders of Sunset. For her part, the Rainboom leader managed to hide, most, of her cocky grin as she turned and gave a mock death glare at her room mate.

"Real cute Dazzle!"

"Aww, you noticed my new dress. I think it cute as well!"

Slapping herself in the forehead, Sunset let out a low chuckle, her defenses cracking.

"Your a dork, your also late."

"Well of course my dear! I had to make a small stop."

With her wide hips, fully recovered and..then some, from the past winter. She swayed her way in, in such a manner it showed years of head turning practice. The simple scene of bed room antics was enough to draw a low whimper from Fluttershy, and a panting breath from a wide eyed Sunset. Sunny wasn't a fool, she had noticed the Sirens return to "hip line Queen" as well as a few extra inch's over the past months, how could she not! Those things could feed an army. Gulping down the saliva that formed in the tomboys throat.

"Y...Yeah?"

"Well of course my dear! Walla! Your favorate, straight from Sugar cube corner!"

With a stage acted pose, Adagio presented an open box of triple fudge and caramel soaked brownies. Sunset felt the saliva returned to her mouth as her belly growled at the sight of nearly a dozen of her favorite treats...Pinkie's folks would pay for this. Her friends family, despite there daughters carrier choice to join the City Union, owned the shop of calorie ridden perfection.

"You..."

"Oh but let us not forget the "post work" drink, murr?"

Her other slender arm jerked forth a six pack of Sunset's favorite cheap beer. Only a year past drinking age, the tomboy had quickly become a fan of the putrid ale. It seemed her former foe had found all her weakness and chinks in her armor. Gulping the drewl down she put her hands on narrow hips and gave a real glare.

"What are you up too?"

"Who, little old me? Now dear Shimmer, can I not be kind to my land lady. Besides, you where the one prancing around in my sleep pants the other day...unwashed ones at that!"

A wiggle of orange brows, brought the flush right back to the large bikers face.

"Your trying to make me fat, look at this plethora of sugar and empty calories."

"..."

Sunset felt her blush only deepen at the grinning Sirens silence. Struggling with her pride, Sunset gave in and snatched a brownie from the box and promptly chomped on it. It was rude after all to turn down a gift...especially one so good, and that had so many siblings to be gobbled up!

"I will just put these in the back...oh hello there Shy-booty, been a while."

A resounding eep and gripping of Sunsets back, Fluttershy hide behind her mane.

"Dazzle..."

"Hehe, only a jest dear Shimmer."

Making for the rear of the store, her hip line swaying, almost as much as her wide bottom. For a women so short and petite, Adagio had assets women would pay there life savings for.

"s..She is so scary Sunny.."

Licking every bit of chocolate from her thumb, the tomboy grinned down at her friend and patted her back.

"Scary yes...I like it."

---

"And you ate the entire box!"

"...Shut up!"

"Well it's true, then you got drunk and I had to help you home, only for you to insist on me helping you back into MY sleeping pants."

"I don't remember that...and I was right, you so where trying to make me fat!!"

"Well, to quote my sibling..."ahem, like DUH!" Rember a year later when you popped your jeans button and I all about ravaged you on the spot."

Sunset felt her blush flare across her entire face.

"Ya!! Some "first kiss" the back of my throat was ragged for a week!"

"Amongst other things..."

"You..are..the..."

"Here she is!!!!"

The slowly growing closer by the second squabbling mated pair, blinked in unison and turned to the female that held the result of the years of teasing, loving, and finally soul sharing. Fluttershy knelt next to a small pet bed, a warm blue blanket reflected the deep brown, black, white and tan shades of the multi hued, sharp nosed and long furred puppy.

"She doesn't have a name yet, but is a Shetland sheep dog, rare for this part of Canterlot. She really needs a good home, and Rayray should have a puppy to play with and grow with her!!...w..well?!?"

Sunset just slapped her brow and groaned at the top of her lungs, as her petite and plump wife rubbed her thumb and forefinger between her eyes.

"We should have known..."
