Chapter 21: A silent night

"Dwaaah! Does she have to be asleep!? Rayray is so much more funzies awake!"

"Ahm, I ahm..think it's past her bed time, eep..I mean, if you think it is..."

The duo of females loomed over the impromptu crib that was a pillow surrounded nest atop Fluttershy's love seat. Sonata was pouting, the giant lanky fast food loving Siren was more then eager to play with her favorite (and only?) niece, yet it was nearly ten a clock and the heavily bosomed pet store owner insisted on a bed time, of some sorts for the tyke while her folks where away dealing with her aunt Aria.

"Welp!!! Okay! So! What is next, video games?! Oh oh! Pizza, I know like the number by heart and stuff! OOO! How about truth or dare!! or or or....!"

"Ahem, I ah, didn't know this was a sleep over, eep...ahem, d..did you want something warm to drink?"

"LIKE YA! HOT COCO GUUUUUUUUUUUURL FRIEND!"

Letting out a squeak the motherly figured yellow women fled to her and Rainbow Dash's tiny kitchen. Ironic as it may seem for one as shy, always minded in the pursuit of her friends happiness, she and Rainbow lived in a trailer home. Mind you, it was a rather nice one, a "double wide" as Aj put it, but still...Fluttershy was a natural care giver, a mother with no children, one might suspect her in a three story home with a two car garage. Not a beer can and sweat sock littered trailer. Yet oddly, she seemed at home, sweeping through the cabnets with a hum. If anything the heavy chested women was the pinnacle of "you can not judge a book by its cover".

Sonata sat back from her niece atop her overly long legs and watched the seeming house wife in action. Her head cocked and nearly three feet of pony tail shifted with it. It never, ever, ceased to amaze the pot bellied Siren at just how amazing her friends where. Over the years, the fast food employee of the month had spent many a day with all of them. Chatting with Sunset over a beer as she worked on her hog. Giggling at Applejack as she swore a blue streak while trying to break a new filly. Rooting for Rainbow Dash at one of her practices. Even sitting atop a half finished sky scrapper, hard hat wearing Pinkie pie and her sharing way to much food for a proper lunch and shooting the shit. And of course, every, single, second with her beloved Rarity. Sonata Dusk had seen a lot of the human born girls, ironic that just seven years (or was it eight now?) ago they would have been at war with one another. But as she watched Fluttershy work and hum her way with almost a whimsy in her antics, dusting fingers over a half dozen home bound pets ranging from a stalwart white bunny, kittys, and a few dogs, the Siren was impressed.

"You know Shy...she isn't doing it to be mean..."

The blue women cringed as the target of her words froze at the statement. Rolling her tongue a bit, Sonata tried again to defend her Sister.

"Ari is just...she well..."

"...She is a good women..."

Blinking her large eyes, Sonata rose to her feet and cocked her head further at the whispered words of the mousey Rainboom.

"Uhh?"

"Aria is, a good..women. I..I...respet her Nata, really. O..Our time together was, special. B..but I just, erm..I just want her to let..no, I want her to understand..."

Turning to face the sibling of her X, Fluttershy clutched the pot of hot chocolate she was brewing in both hands and gave a hair hidden glare at the tallest Siren.

"We are done..."

"Oh Shy, she like totally knows that, but..."

"But s..she sends me rud..rude texts."

"Shy..."

"And even meaner voice mails!"

Sonata leaned back a bit as the most gentle of her friends voice rose in volume.

"...And she won't let me and Dashie be HAPPY!"

Gulping and taken a step back, Sonata glanced about as if searching for what to say.

"Shy, l..like c..come on, Aria isn't all bad..."

Turning away, in shame of her own out burst, Fluttershy let out a almost sobbed sigh.

"I know...she is special. Like a big puppy wanting to protect her mama, I get that, really. But, I can't be that for her any more...why cant she just stop..."

Snorting a breath, Sonata felt the tension ebb and made her way to wrap her heavy chested friend in a warm bear hug.

"Dagi and Sunny are like so talking too her right now, they will fix this, now about that chocolate!!!"

Eeping in terror, Fluttershy spun in her friends arms and craned her neck to look up at her.

"W..wait..t..they went to talk to her! I, I never even let them listen to the voice mail, she is drunk! You KNOW how dangerous she can be..h..how deadly, when she is drinking."

Blinking slowly, Sonata leaned back.

"Ahem..it's Dagi and Sunny, aint no pony save Rayray mean more to Ari then those two..."

"I..I c..can't not worry..."

"Dwaaa! Shy you so cra-cra guuuuuurl!"

Swallowed in another bear hug the shy little Rainboom squeaked and was smothered, despite the comfort offered she still found herself looking towards the cell phone lingering on the counter before them.

"I...I shouldn't have called Dashie..."
