Chapter 12: The Attack Begins

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

I was in the Hive, looking over my forces, helmet under my shoulder, five battalions worth of ponies of ponies of both genders, changelings, and the odd doe. For the most part, the does were under Silver's command, but the odd few had joined one of the battalions I under my command. Silver's forces were already outside and marching to under cloudsdale, where the main changeling army, which had Celestia, Luna, and Nightmare in charge of their own part of it, was waiting. The reason why I was last was simple: my force had the largest, in terms of importance, and I wanted to make sure they all knew their part. Fleur was up ahead, acting as communication medium between my group and the main army so we could more easily coordinate our attack.

It had been a week since the Griffon alliance, and we were ready to make our first major strike. Cloudsdale. "You all know what you must do," I said at the highest volume needed to make each of them hear me. "Though we are the smallest part of the army, our job is the largest: we are to show the Caribou sympathizers that it is not just males that are capable of great feats, but females as well. I know it sounds odd coming from a male right now, but today, we show them what females can do," I say, pointing outside in general to any Caribou out there. "We will show them that no matter what they do, there will always be those odd few. Those who will not, who will not break, under their rule. They see all of us as traitors and objects! Today, I say we show them what we truly are!! An army with no gender discretion, an army of equals, and, most importantly," I pause for dramatic effect. "An army that will kick their asses out of Equestria, follow them home, and show them what happens when you, quite literally in this case, fuck Equestria over!!! WHO'S WITH ME?!"

The battalions yelled in agreement with my statement. "Then we march on Cloudsdale NOW!" With that, I put on my helmet, the speech having been put in front of the rest of the army, hidden under spells, though various means, mostly observation spells sent to loom over the area, and my portion of the army left the Hive cave, and marched through the Everfree forest. Any animals we encountered either were killed with practiced ease or left us alone, sensing our anger in the air, not wishing to invoke our wrath. I was at the lead of the group, carving a brutal path with my mauler through the thick tree line, allowing for quick progress to be made to our destination, as the city bordered the Everfree a few kilometers away from Cloudsdale. Just before we hit the edge of it, Fleur joined us, swooping in from the air to land beside me.

"Impressive speech," she said.

"I've seen enough people to know how to make one," I said. Thank you, hours of Mass Effect one through three. "Have they been discovered?"

"Not yet," she replied. "Any Hunters seen are left alone if they are far enough away, and extra spells cast if they are close. The pegasai and griffons are waiting for the order, and Celestia, Luna, and Nightmare will teleport troops with the cloudwalking spell active up as the first wave. The second will be when enough sites have been secured or when reinforcements are needed which ever comes first, with archers on the ground to target any Hunters or guards trying to hit our forces from below the clouds."

"And the infiltrators?"

"In position, and awaiting your word to move in on their targets."

"Good," I said as I stepped out of the forest, Cloudsdale in view. "The signal to begin the attack will be when a dead Hunter falls to the army's hooves," I say before activating my thrusters, and flying off to where I knew a high priority target was, as well as Rainbow Dash's owner.

Soarin. He was currently on patrol, and, with the infiltrators, I knew his route, and the approximate time he would pass an area. Right now, he was on the border of the forest, and I was on an intercept course. I may not be as large as I was before, but my thrusters give as much boost as before, resulting in much more speed, and more kinetic energy, which meant more damage on impact.

I was in the air for five minutes before I saw him coming in from the west, and angled myself appropriately, going to full speed to maximize the damage. As I got closer, him being unable to see due to invisibility spell, I readied my left arm, which still had the mauler on it. Now, the reason I was after him was because he was the leader of the Hunter's, Dainn's own version of the Wonderbolts, but all male, and meant to hunt down resistance groups. Killing him would cripple them all. After all, to kill a snake, remove the head. And I am aware of how that analogy sounds, but you get the idea.

Judging from his surprised face, I would say my invisibility spell wore off just before I caved his chest in with enough force to quite literally break his heart and kill him. I grabbed the body before it began to fall, the force of the punch sending him into the air a little higher than we already were, and flew in the direction of the city.

With the army- Fleur- 1st person

We waited for the signal to come from Mau'aul. You know, it's kinda funny. The resistance had never expected there to be a male in a leadership position of even a squad, let alone five battalions, but, then again, Mau'ual wan't a normal stallion. If it wasn't for him, I'd probably be dead, a black collar, a purple collar, or a blanked red somewhere else.

I rustled my wings, the appendages the Tree had seen fit to give me, according to Mau'aul, which I don't deserve. Yes, I had lead my group through skirmishes, but that was a year after the Fall. The time before that, the first year after the Fall, I had been, to my shame, a red. The reason I wasn't anymore was simple. I had a child, a beautiful filly, taken away from me after she was born, and I couldn't even name her. My former master, the one I killed for my freedom, my brother, had wanted that, saying, "You and the rest of the cunts are well enough for me. I think I'll have her sent to a fuckhouse." I never saw her again, an I don't even know where she was sent, but at least I made Fancy pay for it.

I sighed as I looked around at the others. I was a part of the first wave of the attack, and had to be ready for Mau'ual's signal. We were quiet, not wanting to give our position away before this all started. I then went back into my own thoughts.

It, the day I killed my own brother, was the day I had sealed my fate. I got the black collars he had, and led them out, me staying inside to make sure they all got out, when Fancy saw me, and, without me at his side to tell him what he could do, he charged at me. It may have worked, if I hadn't taken my own horn off the wall above the mantle before hand and stabbed him through the heart with it. Anything about me a year after the Fall except I was a slave and I killed my brother while helping black collars escape is a lie. The part with Silver, that was just after my escape.

I was brought out of my thoughts by the sound of an armored body hitting the ground. "It's the signal," a mare yelled from in front of me.

"ATTACK!" That was the yell I gave, and numerous pegasai flew out from under the cloud, some, myself included, flying through the clouds into the city, while others flew to envelop the city to prevent escape as the non-fliers were teleported up. I flew through a cloud bank, and emerged in the middle of a building, one that, from the looks of it, was a storage for the Caribou sex toys shipped here. Fortunately, I knew a flame spell. A few minutes later, i was outside, the storage building behind me.

Mau'aul-1st

As soon as i dropped the body, I flew into the city. More accurately, through the small contingent of guards that were at the entry gate, killing two instantly, and using my missiles to kill the others just as the pegasai, changeling, and griffon swarms made their appearance. My plan was to do the Blitzkrieg. Much as I hate Hitler, as any sane man would, I can not deny the effectiveness of that strategy on unprepared forces. Two squads of pegasus guards charged at me, and I got into a ready stance, left arm in front, right behind it. Then I just decided "fuck it" and fired missiles at them. Homing missiles, to be exact. With a heavy payload. I turned towards my target, city hall, as the explosions rang out. You may be wondering why I was going there, to city hall. Simple.

It had information on the defenses for every town within twenty kilometers.
