Evil Doesn't Die
Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Backstreets
Previous Chapter Next ChapterAs Metal was approaching the border gates to the backstreet territories, he felt a vibration come from his storage. He pulled out a circular object and clicked a button in the centre, causing its four pieces to spread out and create a tablet. An image came up on the screen and a video chat notice came up. Clicking on the 'answer' option the screen switched to a man in a white coat and spiky black hair.
"Hey Author, what's up?"
"I just wanted to check in with you and make sure you have everything under control."
Metal nodded. "I got the pass without problems, I'm just about to head into the backstreets now."
"You did exchange your bits for credits didn't you?"
"I did, I've also managed to locate one of the shards. It's being sold in an auction in a bar."
"Be careful about that Metal. Also, I have some friends here that want to speak to you."
Metal watched as Author handed the tablet over to his two friends, Gale (Mecha Sonic) and Lisa (Slenderwoman). "Hey there guys."
"Hey Metal, you doing alright in the big city?" Asked Gale with a playful tone. Lisa just pushed him out of view and looked to Metal.
"Hey Metal, how goes the search?"
"It's going well, I've located one of the shards so that brings me one step closer to getting you home." Lisa just gave him a caring look.
"You really don't have to do this for me Metal, I'm fine with staying here with Gale." Metal shook his head.
"I promised I'd find those shards and get you back home, and that's what I'm going to do." He stated sternly. Lisa gave him a happy look.
"Well then, if I can't change your mind, I'll just say good luck, and be safe."
"I'm in the central hub of the multiverse, I'm never going to be safe, and that's the way I like it." With that he hung up and stored the tablet away in his infinite storage.
He continued walking until he came across the border guards, both of them being gorilla-like creatures in red security uniforms. He handed one of them his pass and they looked it over. Nodding to the other guard the one in the both flipped a switch, opening the large gate slightly. The guard gave him the pass back and wished him good luck.
One through the gate it immediately closed behind him. Looking at the area he was now in he noticed a massive difference. Instead of most things being red and pink, they were purple and blue, the buildings made out of black crystal. He walked down the empty street, keeping a watchful eye out for any attackers. He knew that somebody had to have sensed his presence at that point.
As he walked he heard running and yelling. Looking down the street he saw a young woman running from a group of thugs. The woman had something wrapped in her arms as she sprinted away from her pursuers. He took a crouching stance and shot towards the largest thug. Before the thug could react Metal hit him in the jaw with an uppercut, breaking a few teeth in the process. As the big guy fell to the ground unconscious Metal got a good look at the thugs, they looked like generic alien thugs from something like Treasure Planet or Lilo and Stich.
The woman just stopped running to look back at her saviour. One of the other thugs, a skinny one with four arms and one eye, pulled out four blades and charged Metal. Metal opened his hand and a dark blue sword appeared in his grasp. He blocked the attack and summoned another blade and began trading blows with the surprisingly skilled thug. Eventually he got bored of the duel and kicked the thug down and stabbed it through the chest.
Turning to the last thug who looked at his fallen comrades, Metal began walking towards him. As Metal got up in the thugs face he stared him in the eyes. "Boo." The thug threw down its gun and sprinted down the street. "Yeah, I know better than to let a goon go away alive." Metal held out his hand and shot a moon blade at the retreating thug, ending its pathetic life.
The woman stared at him as he slowly turned to her. They continued to stares at each other for several moments.
"So...not even a thank you?" He asked, motioning to the fallen thugs that were now fading away. Metal now had a chance to get a good look at the girl. Her body was entirely yellow, she wore a tracksuit with sneakers. Her hair was tied into a ponytail, she also had one single gold glove on her right hand.
"Oh, right, yes. Thank you for saving me." Metal just rolled his eyes and tried to continue on his way when he was pulled back to face her. "Where do you think you're going?"
"I'm going to do what I came here to do." He tried to walk away but that ended with the same result.
"You can't leave, soon their friends will show up and hunt me down!"
"How exactly is this my problem?"
"Because you'll feel bad?" She guessed.
"I don't have time for this." And repeat.
"Maybe this will change your mind." She said with a sultry tone, reaching for the bottom of her shirt.
"You whore." Metal said in a disgusted voice. "Look, leave me alone, I have important things to do."
"What would a common displaced like you have to do in the backstreet territories?"
"It's personal..." He quickly snatched the thing that was wrapped in cloth from her hand. Taking off the cloth it revealed one if the portal shards. "...and it involves these things. So I'll be taking this with me." He quickly put it in his storage and flew above the girl before she could grab him again. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have an auction to crash. Chaos Control!" With that he teleported out of the area. The girl just froze in place.
"Oh no he didn't!" She stormed down the street in anger. "So he's going to that auction as well. Well then, I'll just have to give him a piece of my mind there then." She then heard another group of thugs. "Although I should probably get out of this area first."
