Sonata sat patiently on the other side of the mountains that shielded her from Nathan's rampage. She knew it would take awhile for him to calm down, especially in that form. So she just let him go at it until eventually his form faded and the sound of explosions and shattering ricks ceased, replaced by slow heavy footsteps that shook the ground slightly. Nathan climbed over the mountain and landed just in front of Sonata, the ground shaking from the impact.

Sonata just stared up at him with concern. "You ok now?" She recieved a small nod in response. "Good, I think it's best if we get you home so you can relax." Nathan was about to object until she flew up to him and stared him in the eye. "No Nathan, you are not going out to hunt The Maniacs until you've recovered from that. Metal and Ruby could search in the meantime or Lyric and Sapphire could do it or one of the other Rangers."

He just remained silent, there was no arguing with her, because he knew she was right and wouldn't budge when she got like this, he essentially had no choice. "Fine.."

Sonata smiled as she watched him shrink down into his pony form. "Good, then let's go home, I'll make sure that someone is out looking for those monsters. I'm also pretty sure Celestia has Krystal with her in another city searching for more bombs."

This calmed his nerves slightly. He trusted Krystal with this, he knew she was far more gifted with machinery and technology than anyone else in this universe. Sure, he may be a weapons and demolitions expert, but he was more suited to throwing bombs.

Canterlot, later that evening

Zane sat outside the door to Luna's chambers, waiting for the sun to go down and the moon to rise so he could spend time with her. He had recharged earlier in the day just to stay up through the night to see her. He was briefed on the situation at hand, while he wished he was out helping he knew there was only so much he could do. While he was lost in thought he failed to notice the sky turning dark blue with the moon rising over the horizon.

Luna walked out of her chambers and instantly noticed the young ranger in deep thought. She walked up behind him and shook him gently with her hoof. "Zane? Are you ok?"

The robot shook himself and turned to face the alicorn. "Y-Yeah, just thinking about stuff." Seeing her concerned expression made his power core glitch for a moment.

"Do you wish to talk about it?"

"That...would be nice." Luna grasped his hand in her magic and led him into the bedroom, motioning for him to sit down on one of the large pillows around a small table. He sat down and the pillow was suprisingly supportive of his bodies weight, only sinking into it slightly. Luna sat down on one opposite him and looked at him with worry. "Alright, now, tell me what's on your mind."

Zane signed and looked up. "I...left the squad."

Luna wasn't suprised given how things appeared to be going with the group, it was likely the Rangers would leave Thane to go under Nathan's leadership instead given how he was acting as of late. "I see..."

"Now...I don't know what to do. Do I go to Nathan? Do I move to Ponyville or somewhere else? Do I go at it alone? Do I try to go with Katie or Krystal? I don't know..." He lowered his head, almost tearing up, despite not being able to actually cry. "This is the first time I've ever been alone..."

Luna quickly rushed to his side and wrapped her hooves around him. "You aren't alone Zane. I'm always here, I won't let you be alone."

Zane could feel his emotions going into overdrive as Luna hugged him in such a caring way. His eye turned pink for a moment before he wrapped his arms around her. "Thank you..."

Luna herself blushed slightly from the embrace, but luckily Zane couldn't see. "I'm your friend Zane, I'll always be here for you, even if it seems like you are alone."

The two just remained in each other's arms, neither saying a word, enjoying the feeling of being so close together.

Outside, Hack Wonder sat on a cloud with Psychopath standing beside him. "Awwww, what a tender loving moment...go ruin it Psychopath." Psychopath, standing tall with his cloak covering his face, only leaving his two glowing white eyes visible, nodded in response and launched himself towards the tower. Zane detected an enemy presence quick enough to push Luna out of the way and turn towards the window before Psychopath burst through and leapt at him. Zane threw himself onto his back and pushed his enemy over him with his legs.

The bulky demon landed on his feet and slid across the room and glared at the small ranger. Zane went into full offensive mode in order to protect Luna, not an actual robotic mode, just an expression. Immediatly he charged his cannon and blasted the brute with a small blast of light blue energy. When he was charged again he punched him in the face, he may be small but he still had a good deal of strength to him with his robotic build.

Psychopath was stopped in his tracks but grabbed Zane by the leg and slammed him into the ground before throwing him into a nearby wall and smashing him into it with his shoulder. Luna summoned five transparent blue blades with her magic and shot them into the monster, causing him to roar in pain as they all stabbed him in the back. "Get away from him you demon!" She summoned more blades and kept firing them into him before he swatted them all away and kicked Luna upside the jaw, sending her flying up to the cieling. She crashed into the roof and fell to the ground unconscious.

As Zane recovered from the crash he got up and saw what had happened. He stood frozen for a moment before his eye went dark blu and he clenched his fist. "Don't...you...dare...lay a hand..." He jumped up and grabbed Psychopath by the jaw and lifted him up. "ON MY LUNA!!!" He threw across the room and blinding speeds, sending him flying out of the tower. Zane lay Luna on the bed before jumping out of the hole in the wall to hunt down his target.
