Meral got onto all fours and growled at the Nightamre much like a wolf would to an attacker. His beast-like form adding to the imitation factor his growl possessed, which was sleeping with absolute hate and rage. Having come from a timeline where he watched his wives and children be killed by the very type of monster that lay before him, he was anxiously waiting for a chance to express some rage. He dug one of his claws into the ground and slowly waved his blade-edged tail threateningly as he began to circle the Nightmare.

Nigntmare gave off a low growl as he too began to circle his opponent. "You come from a time where you wiped out my entire race save for one, the Nightmare Princess Zerlinda, why try to repeat that horrifying experience by challenging the Nightmares of this world?"

Metal just remained silent as he got to his two legs again and opened his hands, causing two large transpernent blue blades to appear in his hand. Just by using the summoning technique caused him emotional pain, as it was the first ability he had ever gained which was also taught to him by one of his romantic partners Princess Luna, who had used the same ability in the first battle of the crystal empire. Metal looked away from Nightmare for a moment before closing his eyes. "This world still has a chance to be peaceful, my world does not. I may have destroyed Xram along with Symbol and Marx and saved an infinite amount of lives, but I failed to save my own home from a Nightamre Fuel invasion force as I was too busy destroying Nightmare Alpha, I will not allow even one of you to live any longer."

Nightmare stopped and stared at the metal hedgehog. "You said you have people you want to protect here. Who? You don't plan on stealing this timelines version of your partners from your past self do you?" He asked evilly.

Metal opened his eyes and glared at Nightmare who flinched as they made eye contact. "Ruby is now the only reminiscent I have of my old home, she wasn't even able to grow up with her family after the Black Plain Raid, she is like a daughter to me. I can and will make sure she stays with her family for as long as I live."

Nightmare just began to chuckle. "I will never understand how a being like yourself, the direct descendant of one of the greatest monsters in the infinite history of the void, can have such a heroic mindset and courageous attitude."

"I gave up on trying to understand that long ago." Without warning Metal curled into a large ball of grey and blue spikes, almost looking like a ball made of buzz saws, and shot towards Nightmare at blinding speeds. On impact Nigjtmare was sent flying, but Netal hash' that ended his attack, he kept going forward. He reached Nightmare in midair and began sawing through his body in his spinball. As he ripped and teared away at the monsters flesh another Nightmare came out of nowhere and punched Metal off of its ally.

Metal quickly unfurled and threw one of his blades into the demons body at mach speed, impaling it in a nearby rock before it broken into a puff of purple smoke and formed into a small purple orb like the other Nightmare than Metal had torn to shreds.

Three tendrils then stabbed through his back and outside of his chest. Turning his back he saw two Nightmares standing together. He grabbed the tendrils in his free hand and pulled them forward while they were still in his body. The Nightmares were pulled towards his back where they were stabbed by the many spikes before turning into orbs.

Before a Nightmare could sneak up on him he quickly turned around and blasted it with his chest laser, which covered a very large area. He then grabbed another approaching Nightmare and punched it in the gut causing it to fly straight upwards at a speed of approximately mach four.

As hundreds of Nightmares began to gather in the forest Metal stood still, looking slowly around at the large crowd that had come to take his life. They had tried this in his timeline, time and time again, it never worked. As they all began to pile onto him, stabbing, punching and whatever else Metal just clenched his fists and opened his glowing red eyes.

"CHAOS...BLAST!!!" Be unleashed a wave of dark red magic which covered everything in a one hundred feet radius, killing every Nightmare it reached. As the attack ended Metal looked around at the sea of dark purple orbs, some already beginning to reform into fresh Nightmares.

Using his portal manipulation ability taught to him by Marx, Metal opened a rift to an abandoned universe and sent all of the orbs through it begore sealing it off.

"Hmph, no wonder True Xram and The Nightmare Kimg had special Noghtmares made, these guys are just pathetic." He sat down on a nearby log, allowing his self repair systems to mend his wounds. "No matter, the easier they go down the better, I'm already sick of fighting these guys. I should probably go and let Sapphire know that I'm alright and check on how she's doing."

"Hey Metal!" He heard Nathan call out. "Where are you?! Sapphire said you needed help!"

"Over here Nathan! Everything is fine now!"

The huge warbot followed the sound of the metal hedgehogs voice until he came to the destroyed area of the forest. "Woah, did you do this?"

"I'm not sure why you're surprised, you can easily wipe out an entire firest, this is just one area."

"I know that, just not used to seeing these things happen because of people that aren't me." Nathan responded while rubbing the back of his head slowly. "What happened here anyway? All Sapphire said was you were in trouble."

"Heh, I've faced far worse than this, to me this was nothing more than a morning jog. Essentially a small army of Nightmare Fuels attacked, one tried to sway Sapphire into letting her inner Nightmare take control, I stopped it and beat them all. End of story." Metal answered with disinterest. "Speaking of Sapphire, you might want to go have that talk with her now."

"Hmm...you're right." As Nathan turned away he immediately turned back and glared. "Hey wait a minute where were you when Epidemic was rampaging about?!"

"I couldn't get involved in such a vital part of your history, Ruby could because she is the only version of herself in this timeline, I still have my past self. Besides..." Metal trailed off and sighed deeply. "...I didn't want to hurt myself by seeing them again."
