Why me?
Chapter 15: Dancing in the Rain
Previous Chapter Next Chapter"There we are," Rarity said as she floated over my new cloak, "I made this one out of a much more sturdy material so it should be more durable."
Ignoring the slight tingle from Rarity's magic I grabbed the cloak and donned it on. "Thank you," I muttered, "Sorry for trashing the other one."
Rarity tsked and waved a dainty hoof, "Think nothing of it, " she said before she turned her head away slightly. "I don't think any of us expected to go the way it did.." With a glow of cobalt, my old cloak was lifted off the ground and thrown in a nearby chest.
My lips pulled up slightly, "I'm just glad that everything worked out in the end."
It almost didn't though. I need to push myself further to make sure that they are never in danger again, ever. That means I have to break my body down to build it back up and make this magic mine. With the book that Celestia gave me it should be only a matter of time, I hope. I've been looking over it every night and it is hard to piece together some of the terminologies. I wonder if it has to do with the fact that I didn't grow up with magic. I've read some books on magic from a unicorn's perspective with the hope that it might shine some light. So far it hasn't been helpful.
"Quite," Rarity said before she turned away and with her magic put away her threads and needles. "Would you like for me to escort you back to the library?" she asked.
"No thank you," I said with my head coming up to look at her.
"Are you sure, darling?" Rarity asked, "I have to go to the square anyway and help them spruce things up before the storm."
"Oh, I can help you," I said instantly.
Ah, this episode. This is so going to be fun.
...
I'm not going to get any sleep tonight, fuck me.
Rarity flicked her mane up, "Dear Celestia no!" she exclaimed dramatically as she placed a hoof on her forehead, "A stallion such as yourself doesn't need to get dirty."
I couldn't help but wonder if this was an overdramatic act or if she being 100 with me. Either way, it always got a chuckle out of me. I don't know why, I mean I know she means it but, well...hmm.
"As a mare of my status I should do all the work," she continued.
"But you hate getting dirty," I pointed out with arms crossed.
The prime and proper unicorn let out a refined huff, "I can tidy a place up without breaking a sweat."
I glared at her with a deadpan look, "Right..." I said unconvinced at the statement, but I decided not to pursue it and instead turned to leave.
"Sean?" Rarity called and I stopped to turn to give her my attention.
"Yes?"
"I just wanted to let you know that your winter clothes will be ready soon," Rarity said she walked towards me, "Fall is in a couple of months and I would hate for you to freeze."
I nodded my head just as Rarity stopped in front of me. The mare looked away nervously as she pawed the ground. I awkwardly stood there and waited to see if there was anything else. At least I think there was more to it. Her tone seemed to indicate there was a second part.
Suddenly Rarity jumped up and placed her front hooves on my chest, and before I could squeak out a protest there was a dainty wet feeling on my cheek. A jolt of lightning shot down my spine, my face came flushed, and my body became warm. Slowly, Rarity pulled her head back and looked at me under half-lidded eyes, "That darling," she said with a husky tone, "Is for protecting me from the dragon."
Sensually, Rarity slid down my body her hoof traveling down my chest before it hit the ground. She then began to walk toward the back of her shop. I noticed the way her tail flicked as she swayed her hips from side to side. The minx then looked back at me with a smirk and flicked her tail again before she disappeared.
What the fuck...
...She's thirsty.
Of fuck off. There's no way she's into me like that. She was just showing her appreciation for the save that's all. She said so herself.
I turned around and left the shop.
Na man she wants the D, the human D.
You're reading too much into this. This kind of thinking always gets me into trouble. I read too much into girls' reactions and actions thinking that she's into me. Then I fall for her hard only to be heartbroken later and or used. I'm not doing that here. Besides we're not even the same species so there's no way I could be attracted to her, if she was anthro then yes I could probably see that.
Dude don't lie. Remember the shit you use to read. You know damn well that as long as they are intelligent and capable of emotion you would tap that.
That's fantasy, this is real life.
Yea... you ain't foolen' no one just ask our friend Mr. DIck what he thinks.
Pausing in my walk I became extremely aware that someone was awake and alert.
See! Mr. DIck never lies. Time to go native!
My face began to burn.
Besides your half-pony, it will only be half bad...
SHUT UP!!!!
I stood there I pulled my cloak closer to hide my shame from the world and prayed that no one saw it.
I'm losing my mind, I literally argued with myself, and lost I need to go home and check on Twilight. Maybe staying here is a bad idea. Okay, maybe I'm taking it a little too far. Sure it's embarrassing but it's a natural reaction. Besides, why would I want to leave? I have magic, I can actually be someone...
...and if you let them, have the greatest friends with the greatest characters ever thought of.
That's true...I need something to do. You know to keep my mind busy for a while.
An answer came in the form of an orange blob in my peripheral. I turned my head to see Applejack trying to pull a stick that was easily twice her size.
Well, to be honest, it was more like a branch. The branch appeared to have broken off recently as it was still full of luscious green leaves that rattled as the farm pony dragged it across the ground using her teeth.
The pony herself must have been at it for quite a while. bits of twig and leaf braided themselves within her mane and tail. Sweat clung to her creating a nice shine on her body.
Particularly around that tight ass. Damn! you could bounce a damn quarter off of that.
...
You know if I want to get in the good graces of the populace it might help if I got involved more.
My man...
NOT like that, you can fuck right off.
With a deep breath, I marched over to the farm pony.
Applejack must have noticed me as she dropped the branch and took off her stenson before she used her arm to wipe her brow. She replaced the hat and gave me a wave. "Howdy partner', " she said.
"Sup," I said when I reached her. Wordlessly I reached down and picked up the branch and rested it on my shoulder, "Where to?"
Applejack opened her mouth to protest but she closed it as her face scrunched up. She jerked her head and led me away. "You are an odd one ya know that," she said.
"You're going to be more specific than that," I pointed out, "I'm odd-even by my people's standard so it's a given that I'm odd by pony standard."
The pony let out a snort, "Ain't that for sure," she muttered.
Ooooh AJ got sass.
"There's not many stallions who would readily work," Applejack clarified.
I looked at her with a raised eyebrow, "What about your brother?"
Aj shook her head causing a few strands of her blonde mane to come undone from her ponytail. Her mane style, not her actual tale.
"He only does basic work, haulen', harvesting, and plowen' nothing else," she explained.
That makes sense in a weird way.
You've been an ass.
What the fuck? Where the hell did that come from?
"I see," I muttered, "I'm not a fan of manual labor but I'll do what I must."
You're in a new culture and you've been rejecting them.
I have not! I just refused to be treated like some delicate flower, I've done too much and been through so much to be coddled now.
And how have you portrayed that?
I..you...fuck.
Exactly, keep that in mind next time this comes up.
Why does this introspective shit always happen at the most random time?
"Well... ya can help but just don't push-wait sorry," Aj cut herself off and shook her head, "Ya 'not a delicate flower' I know." she turned around and began to walk away.
There was a jolt in my body and it moved before I realized it. My hand reached out and walked towards the farm pony. "Applejack wait!" I called out.
She paused and turned her head. At the same time I had gotten down on the ground and my hand glided up her spine. The feeling of Applejack's muscles mixed with her fur was almost smooth and rough. It was...nice. Being this close I was able to smell fresh apples mixed with sweat. My spine began to tingle and I felt my tail twitch.
I snaked my arms around her neck and pulled Applejack close.
"I'm sorry," I told her, "I know that stallions are few and precious, and that you girls are just looking at me the same way and that you just want to protect me. " I let out a sigh, "I only just recently became independent and freed from people's manipulations and I'm afraid of losing that."
"We nev-"
"I know, " I cut in, "it's just...it's something that I have to work through."
I then turned to her and gave her a smirk, "I'm stubborn as hell though so please be patient with me."
With my close proximity to Aj, I was able to pick a growing red tint on her cheeks. Could it be from physical stress or is it because of our close proximity?
"Right don't cha worry about it, sugar," Aj said, quickly pulling away from me. A fact that I didn't miss.
I guess I disgust her.
Stop being negative, you don't know what she's thinking.
You're going to die alone. A voice from the past spoke up, and like a vampire, all the joy drained from me.
Great, this is back. Why don’t you fuck off. I’m not like that anymore.
"Are ya' alright?" Applejack asked with a hint of concern. It was then I realized that my face scrunched up in a frown.
Immediately I relaxed my face. "Yea," I squeaked before I cough and tired again. "Yes, lets' go"
AJ eyed me suspiciously before she trotted away "Let's get going then sugar."
With a grunt, I followed the farm pony and began to help her out pulling down branches.
With a heaving grunt, I toss a large tree limb into the ever-growing pile.
Sweat dripped off of me like a waterfall. I gasped, “BEEP me,” I grunted as I arched my back to crack out the discomfort. Then I began to rotate my pony arm before I paused as a unicorn came up. This unicorn had a pale magenta coat with a purple mane with a light purple streak. She also had purple eyes. On her flank were three diamonds. With her magic, the pile of branches glowed a bright raspberry, and without any obvious physical strain, the unicorn took the limbs away.
...oh fuck off.
With a tired sigh, I looked up at the sky and saw the fleet of pegasus moving dark grey clouds. On a hunch, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. The wet coolness tickled my nose and the familiar smell of pending rain brought back memories of my childhood. Slowly I opened my eyes and watched as the light slowly darken as the sun was blocked by the clouds.
“Don’t y’all care about nothing other than prettifyin’?” Applejack’s irritated southern twang echoed across the park.
I turned my head to see both AJ and Rarity about to get into it.
“Somepony has to,” Rarity snarked, “You are making an absolute mess of the town square, Applejack.”
With a humm I walked over to a nearby bench and sat down to watch the two ponies go at it.
“Yeah, well,” Aj narrowed her eyes at the fashionista, “the storm’s gonna make an even bigger mess if we don’t prune all these loose branches.” she pointed at the limbs of the tree behind her, “so they don’t tumble down on anypony.”
Rarity flicked her mane backward, “I simply cannot imagine why the pegasus ponies would schedule a dreadful downpour this evening and ruin what could have been a glorious sunny day.” As if to prove her point the last bit of sunlight vanished as the weather team placed the final cloud in place.
You know it's kind of off-putting just how easily the ponies here control almost every aspect of nature here. Back home it's chaotic and even the experts couldn’t even accurately predict it. A reminder to us humans that even though we won the evolution game we are still at the mercy of Mother Nature. In the end, we are still alive because the earth wasn’t tired of our shit. Although the way things were heading, how long was that going to last?
In Equestria though, everything was so vibrant and in perfect harmony. Even though Ponies had evolved into a civilization they still respect and live with nature. Then again, it has made the two entities dependent on each other and I am not sure how I feel about that.
A rumble from above pulled me from my mind and slowly I looked up to see the grey clouds darken. Drops of rain began to fall slowly at first then quickly became a downpour. I pulled down my hood and let the droplets of water land on my face soaking my hair.
As the rain fell I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. The coolness of the liquid poured down my body and refreshed it.
I love the cooling feeling of the rain, it's like it wipes everything clean. Purifying, down to the deepest depth of my soul. Soothing the chaos within my mind and soul.
The crash of thunder shocked the still calmness right out of me.
“Jesus Christ almighty!” I yelled out which was drowned out by the raging wind that roared around me.
Well, that was a change.
Fucken’ cock suckers.
Fuck this I’m going home. I’m wet, cold, and pissed off.
Quickly I stood up and heard someone call my name, "Sean!" Twilight's voice cried out over the roar of the storm. I turned towards the library to see her waving at me with Applejack and Rarity running towards her already.
With a wave, I ran towards the library. The speed that I did so caught me off guard, as my feet pushed off the ground it felt like a shotgun was going off. The power of each step sent a rush through me. It was intoxicating, like a sweet treat.
I wanted more.
There were only a few things that could give me this feeling. Music, a good story like Star Wars or MLP just to name the bare few.
The instant I came to the door of the library I had to crush the desire to keep running. Now is not the time, but when the storm is over...hehe I can’t wait to see how this will affect my amateur skills in parkour.
Oh, it's going to be glorious.
“Whoa, Nellie!” Aj’s country tone broke through my mind and the rain, “Is inside a tree really the best place to be in a lightning storm?”
Oh...that’s right. Tree + storm = bad.
“It is if you have a magical lightning rod protecting your home like I do,” Twilight informed us.
Addendum: Tree + storm + magic bullshit = A’okay.
“Come on in,” the tiny purple unicorn said with a flick of her head
Rarity, who was already inside the library, let out a sigh, “We are most grateful for your invita-”
“Yea yea excuses me I’m wet and cold out here!” I cut in and maneuvered between the two ponies, “Y’all can exchange all that inside!”
“How rude!” Rarity scoffed.
“Sorry, but again I’m getting soaked!” I said as I pulled off my cloak and hung it up on the hat stand by the door.
There was a dainty cough and I looked down to see Rarity look at me with a raised eyebrow. “What?” I said before she pointed at my and Applejack’s hooves.
“Do be a polite house guest and go wash up, please won’t you?” Rarity said as she aimed a glare at Aj before she trotted inside.
“I live here…” I muttered, tempted to just use the floor mat at the door to wipe my feet, but then the thought of having Twilight clean up after me picked at my brain to the point where aggravation clawed its way out. With a growl, I snatched my sopping wet cloak and went back outside with Aj as she grumbled, “If I got to spend one more second with that fussbudget Rarity today, I can’t be held responsible for what I’m’ gonna do.”
“I’ll help you,” I muttered to the pony with a wet cloak on, “I freaking live here and she’s telling ME what to do!”
Once we were outside I put my hands on the wall of the library and stuck out my left foot to let the rain wash away the mud. I let out a grunt of pain as I had to bend my body in an unnatural way, or at least the new unnatural way.
A jet of water smashed into my side and I toppled to the ground, “Oi!” I yelled as I got to my feet to see that Aj was wrestling with a slithering hose. With an amused snort as the hose turned and blasted the pony in the face. Aj, startled, fell and landed on her back. Her emerald eyes flashed at me. Her legs bent forward giving her the look of a small playful puppy.
It was cute.
The hose still wiggled in her mouth and for some reason, I couldn’t help but laugh. It was a mild one; it didn’t even break over the sound of the rain but it was enough for Aj to look away abashed. “Give me that,” I told Applejack as I went over and took the hose from her and motioned her to stand up.
Applejack rolled to her hooves and I used the hose to spray her hooves before I moved to her dirty back. This turned out to be a little difficult to remove so I moved in and with my hand rubbed the dirt out.
“OKAY! I’m all clean now! Thank ya’ kindly partner,” Aj yelled out before she trotted back inside.
Oookkay...
Another crack of lightning startled me and I gave the sky a glare.
“I’m moven keep your pants on,” I grumbled as I sprayed down my hooves.
With my now sparkly clean feet, I went back inside and without a glance to the others I hung up my now completely drenched cloak. A loud gasp and Aj’s cry of, “What in tarnation?!” caused me to turn around to see Rarity apply that facial mud stuff on Twilights face as they rested on fluffy pillows.
“Now wait just a goldarn minute!” Applejack huffed as she stalked towards the duo, “ya make us wash th' mud off our hooves, but it’s okay for ya’ll ta have mud all over your faces?”
Oh Applejack, how I envy your simple ways.
“Oh Applejack,” Rarity chuckled as she daintily flicked a hoof at the farm pony, “This is called a mud mask. It’s to refresh and rejuvenate your complexion.”
Tsk, ya Applejack darling, didn’t you know that
….
“We’re giving each other makeovers!” Twilight squealed with excitement before she giggled and brought over a book with her magic.
Oh my god! Is that's a book on sleepovers! Are you for real?!?!
...oh wait I forgot I’m living in Equestria now and this is Twilight we’re talking about. Of course, she has a book on the subject.
“As fun as all of this sounds,” I cut in heading towards my room, “I’m going to go ahead and dry off before going to bed.”
“Don’t you want to join my slumber party,” Twilight said as she trotted up to me.
In the corner of my eye, I saw Rarity sling a glop of mud into Aj’s face before plopping cucumbers over her eyes. As she did this I saw her whisper something to Aj pointed her head towards Twilight. “I don’t want to get in the way of y'all’s girls night,” I told the unicorn as I gave her a pat on the head.
Besides, there’s a book I want to read and get some magic training done today.
“Are you sure?” she asked me, to which I nodded, “Okay good night.” The unicorn slumped a little before she trotted away.
Sorry Twi, but I don't think I would be any fun for your kind of slumber party.
“Night Twilight, Applejack, Rarity,” I called out as I turned around and headed downstairs, “Try not to destroy the house okay.”
HAHAHA ‘cause you know they are.
DAMN I’M GOOD!
...
F you that was funny!
“Alright let’s crack this thing open,” I said as I sat on my bed dried off and freshly changed. With my human hand I opened the magic book to the first page ready to start unlocking its secrets…..and immediately lost interest.
“Ugh,” I groaned out loud.
Well, it's not that I lost interest but the wall of text and the dense material makes it hard to digest it. I've tried to barrel through a few times but it was just so hard to understand. Like how does one ‘tap into the wellspring and project’. I’ve tried to look that up in basic magic books put nowhere does it say. Even when I looked in the magic history books all they said was that it was some ancient practice and it held no relevance to modern applications of magic.
Skimming through the book didn’t help either.
….although…
I flicked through the book until I came across a section where large symbols that were followed by smaller text. With a finger traced out one of the symbols. It was a thick line that went into an inward spiral. Next to it was smaller text, probably explaining what this symbol means, it was written some form of Latin so while I could read it I couldn't understand it, much to my ire. That was another thing I notice about this book, while some was written in some form of English there were parts of it that were written in other languages. Again this only brought only more questions and roadblocks.
With a sigh, I went back to the book and went through the text next to the symbol. Within that text, I did recognize one symbol as a rune. I have yet to figure out how this is possible, and I have also not written to Celestia to ask why. I need to though.
For now, though I have an idea that I want to try.
With the giddiness of a child, I dived into the symbol pages to see what I could do. As I did went through memories of the first time I projected magic that feeling that I felt and how I...Is that what it meant?!
Son of a bitch, I'm in!
Picking the spiral for its simplistic design so it should be easy to do.
Alright, here we go.
With a flick of my human hand, my Harmony Stick flew into my arm and wrapped itself around it. I then took my hand and with palm forward and recreated they symbol. The excitement grew within me, this is it. I'm about to perform magic. Here WE GO!!!!
...
Nothing.
Nothing happened.
I kept spinning my arm until it began to burn.
With a frustrated groan, I dropped my arm and fell back on my bed. As I glared at the wooden ceiling I tried to piece together what went wrong.
Why? What went wrong? This is so fucking frustrating! The book is practically useless. FUCK!!
With a growl, I punched the wall above my head. Besides the flare of the pain of hand, there was no clarity of my mind. So with a deep breath, I calmed the storm of frustration as the one outside picked up. Once I was calm I went back to remember what was going on when I cast that first circle.
My hand slapped my face.
"Right music," I muttered, "but how the fuck do I bring the music?"
My eyes trialed towards my phone that rested on the bedside table.
I could use that, but would it even work? The music came from within me.
With my human hand, I reached out and touched the phone with two fingers.
Do you need the crutch?
I paused.
No, if I'm going to master this magic I'm going to do so without my phone. The risk of me becoming too reliant on it is high and there may come a time when I won't have the phone on me. I need to learn to do without it. Besides, I don't want anything bad to happen to it. If I end up being stuck here then this will be my only connection to home that I have.
Slowly my fingers trailed off the hard corners of my phone before they flopped off to the side. Gradually my hand returned to my side and my eyes went back to the ceiling. My body began to relax as tiredness began to creep in.
A deep breath later and decided that one more attempt was needed before I went to bed. Another sigh escaped my lips before I sat back up and closed my eyes. I drove into myself and tried to reach for the source of my magic. Unlike before it was there just beyond my grasp. As I began to reach for it the hum of a flute-like instrument began to play in a familiar symphony before horn instruments broke through. A gasp burst past my lips as the familiar song filled me with wonder and excitement the first time I saw the setting of the two suns. With determination, I gasped that feeling with my human hand brought up two fingers, and created a swirl in the air.
There was a flush of power as there was a burst of wind and the collapse of something heavy. In shock, my eyes snapped open just in time to see a dying light blue magical circle with the symbol of what I now know to be wind or air. As the light died down and my sight readjusted to the surroundings I saw that what fallen was some of Twilight's personal science books.
I'm sure she won't mind.
She going to do unspeakable things to you.
Well, maybe she shouldn't treat my room like a damn storage area.
You are in the basement.
Whatever mission accomplished I'm going to bed now.
With a satisfied hum, I laid down on my bed and dug myself under my blankets. Now comfortable and satisfied with the night's work I closed my eye and embraced the rest I oh so craved.
...
Aren't you gonna pick up the books you knocked off?
My eyes snapped opened.
It can wait until tomorrow.
But you should do it now, otherwise, you might forget.
I won't.
It's not very nice to leave...
Fuck! Fine.
I kicked the blanket off of me and growled as the coldness of the room seized my skin in a toxic blanket. The grumble continued while I picked up the books and put them back in their proper place. With a sigh, I crawled back into bed and let out a hum of content. Once settled in the warmth gathered around and I once again began to rest as the sandman used his magic.
Thud.
I'm just going to lay here and enjoy the comfort of my bed.
Thud.
I'm going to go sleep on a good note and not-
Thud thud.
And not-
Thud thud thud thud.
AND NOT-
THUD THUD THUD THUD
GOD FUCKING DAMN COCK SUCKING BITCHES!!!
With a loud growl, I threw off my blankets and began stomping up the stairs. When I got up there I was greeted with the sight of flying pillows going back and forth between Applejack and Rarity. AJ was using the strength of her back hooves and Rarity using the precise control of her magic.
I opened my mouth tell them to pipe down when my vision went dark as something soft hit my face. Slowly the pillow slid down my face and flopped to the ground. A glare formed as the pillow descended to which I pointed at the three sheepish ponies. Rarity cough gracefully into her hoof, "Sorry darling," she said as Applejack scoffed the ground, and Twilight bit her lower lip, "It seems we got carried away with our fun."
With a deep breath I spoke, "Just keep it down," I said as I turned around, "I'm trying to sleep."
"Eheh I promise we'll keep it down," Twilight said as the human retreated back into the basement. The unicorn then turned to her sleepover guests, both of them were glaring at each other. Twilight closed her eyes and took a deep breath to push down her growing irritation. The underlining tension between her two friends was obvious, but she had hope that with a makeover, smores, a scary story or two, or perhaps even a few games would make whatever was going on between them go away. Perhaps one last game could smooth over the source of the issue her friends were having.
If she can get this sleepover to be a success then perhaps she can host another and get her human roommate to join in. It would be an excellent learning opportunity. She hasn't really had many of those with Sean which hasn't done much for her growing desire and a sleepover would be an excellent way to find out about human social and sleeping habits.
Twilight giggled and trotted in place as the excitement of learning more about a new species grew. With her magic Twilight brought over Slumber 101: All You've Ever Wanted to Know About Slumber Parties but Were Afraid to Ask and opened up to the checklist.
"Okay the next item of fun is playing a game of truth or dare," Twilight called out as she closed the book and levitated it back to her desk
"I dare Applejack to do something carefully and neatly for a change!" Rarity immediately spat out.
"Oh yeah!" Applejack snapped back, "Well, I dare Rarity to lighten up and stop obsessin' over every last little detail for a change!"
"I think the truth of the matter is that somepony could stand to pay a little more attention to detail!" Rarity said her voice rasing.
"And I think the truth is somepony ought to quit with her fussin' so the rest of us can get things done!" AJ said matching Rarity's tone.
'Great, this isn't helping at all.' Twilight thought with a sigh before she let out a cough. "Um I never played this game before but I don't think that's how its suppose to work." She then went over to her book using her magic to open the book and flick through until she found the game rules. "It says right here that you have to give an honest answer to any question or perform whatever dare anypony dares you to do."
Twilight turned to her friends to see that Applejack and an evil glare directed at Rarity, "I dare you to step outside and get yer precious mane wet again!"
Rarity let out a horrific gasp, "But-but!"
"You have to," Twilight chimed in, "its the rules."
With a lady like glare at a smug Aj, Rarity daintily stomped towards the door, and with a dramatic sigh opened the door. A pained whined came from the unicorn as she took a step outside. On the inside of the treehouse/library, Applejack let out a snicker at the sounds while Twilight tried to cover her amused smirk with a hoof. A few moments later Rarity came back into the main area of the library dipping head to hoof, her perfectly styled mane slicked as it clung to her body.
A righteous fury surge within the unicorn as she tried to piece together the perfect vengeance to lay on the farm pony for her transgression. It must reflect the sin that was done to her, NAY! It must be tenfold! Slowly Rarity lips pulled upward to her twitching eyes.
'Yes,' Rarity thought to herself as the perfect revenge formed in her mind, 'Applejack needs to act in a more refined manner. Otherwise, she'll never get a stallion or be asked to join a herd.' Said earth pony mirthful smile slowly turned to worry as she saw Rarity's look.
"I dare you to go downstairs and cuddle with Sean," Rarity demanded with a hoof pointed at AJ who recoiled in shock. Rarity lips twitched in sadistic joy as the earth pony before she slumped as the gravity of the situation began to rest on her withers. Inwardly viciously chuckled at her diabolical idea. She has known of Applejack for most of life and she knew that the farm pony was all business and farm work. She also knew that she is not close to any stallions nor has she made the effort to be close. This made her dare that much more diabolical! Not only will Applejack have to placed in a spot where she would have to be a refined mare, but also close to the opposite gender!
IT'S PERFECT!!!
Meanwhile Twilight was trying to understand her heart tightened at the dare, and Applejack felt her body begin to chill.
With a smug smirk, Rarity said in a condescending tone, "You have to it's the rules."
Slowly, Applejack stood on her hooves and without another word trotted downstairs.
Once Aj's blonde tail flicked into the shadows a thought zipped through Rarity's mind, 'Oh wait...what did I do?'
Applejack slowly crept down the stairs with the attempt to make as little sound as possible. She didn't want to wake the beast. The fact that the human was snoring didn't help with this feeling. The farm pony did not have a lot of interaction with the human and the few times she did he didn't do anything that warranted any fear. While some of his mannerisms were odd it didn't put Applejack off. She still didn't really know him, but she was somewhat interested in knowing him. Especially about those whatcha ma' callem, fingers? Yea! Like are they magical or something? Every time he touched her with them it made her feel all sorts of ways. not in a bad way per-say...
The Earth Pony reached the side of the bed where the human rested peacefully. Sean was laying on his back with his, what did he call them? Arms? What a silly name.
Applejack shook her head to banished the tangent thoughts.
His 'arms' were spread out open which would make it easier to crawl on to bed and cuddle.
She didn't mind getting to know the human but that doesn't mean that she was up to crawling in his bed to cuddle. Do humans even cuddle?
Applejack turned her head to the stairs as she contemplated just going back upstairs and telling her friends that she completed the dare. It's not like they would know the truth they're not here to see. The earth pony closed her eyes and let out a sigh.
She couldn't do that, it wouldn't be honest. Besides Rarity did her dare its only fair that she did hers.
As softly as she could, Applejack placed her front hooves on the human's bed and gently pushed her self up. A grunt caused her to pause and she looked up with wide eyes as the human continued to lay there. The pony stayed there until she was sure that the occupant was still asleep. Only then did she continued to climb onto the bed.
Her heart began to pound in her chest and her face began to warm up. Why?
Slowly Applejack laid down a good hoof away.
This is good enough right?
"You ponies aren't gonna let ma sleep," the human next to her mumbled out.
Applejack only had enough time to look at the human and see that his eyes were still closed before one of his arms came up and grasped her barrel. With a yelp, the farmboy was pulled into an embrace and found her muzzle close to his. The heat that was building up in her head skyrocketed as the human's lips were only a hair away from her's. The pony brought up a hoof and placed it on his chest to push away but she lost the will to do so as the human's head came closer. Her breath hitched as she felt a hand glide down her back.
A groan escaped her lips as she inched closer to Sean only to be snapped back to reality by the sudden shift of the human's head. Instead of meeting her lips, his head went to her neck and began to nuzzle it.
Applejack, although in a haze, slightly jumped at the intimate touch before she fell into it and rested her head on top of the human's. The smell of something earthy and musky enthralled her it made her think of the orchard just before the harvest. It reminded her off...
"Should we do something?" Twilight whispered
Applejack's eyes snapped opened and her head swung to look behind her. She saw both of her friends were staring at her from atop the stairs. With the poor lighting, she couldn't see Twilight's exact expression but Rarity conspiratorial smile was easy to see.
I don't know the exact time but my biological clock said that it was still night. Their whispering woke me up but instead of embracing the awareness, I allowed sleep's claws to hold me down just enough to get the bare minimum of consciousness. I could tell that something heavy and warm was rested against me and the smell of apples and fresh dug dirt tickled my nose.
I can't be outside can I? No, I definitely went to bed then why...oh it started to move whatever just let me sleep.
"Please let me sleep," I mumbled out as I turned over and recover myself with the blanket.
"Sorry," someone whispered and I just grunt as darkness took over.
"Did you enjoy yourself, darling..."
Fucking ponies.
CRASH!!!
"WHAT THE BEEP-EN BEEP WAS THAT!!!!!" I screamed out as I bounced out of bed.
As quick as my hooves could carry me I ran up the stairs. I was met with a sight of Applejack lasso in mouth swinging around and the rope tied around the tree that hung from Twilight's bedroom.
Oh right. A tree was supposed to fall inside the library to help Rarity and Applejack fix their relationship.
"How's hanging," I yelled over the storm that was still raging.
Applejack glared at me as she swung like a pendulum.
I heard Rarity whimpering coming from upstairs and I went up there to check up on her and Twilight. When I got there Rarity was using a book like an umbrella as she squicked out, "I tried to tell you it would come crashing down in here!"
How is Twilight allowing Rarity to use her precious books like this?
With a slight turn of my neck, I saw that the book worm was nose deep in a book, "What are you doing?" I yelled at her.
"I'm checking to make sure that there wasn't a section about a tree being in the bedroom!" she called.
Twitch.
"Of course there isn't!!" I yelled at her but it fell on deaf ears.
I spun around to see that Rarity and Applejack looked like they were about to get into it again.
Snap.
"Will you two chuckle BEEP cut that BEEP out!" I yelled at them the duo heads snapped over to me with shock looks, "Let's deal with this BEEP tree so we can go to sleep!"
When they didn't move I let out a huff and went to the window that the tree was coming from. At a glance it looked like the window itself wasn't damaged and when I poked my head out I saw that the tree wasn't connected to anything. So it appears all we had to do was push it out. I looked around the window and saw a couple of branches was preventing the tree to be moved.
Damn, how are we going to get this thing out of here?
"Does this count as camping?" I heard Twilight ask.
That girl is dumb as hell.
No, she's not.
She's smart don't get me wrong, but only book smart. She needs to get some street smarts as well. But for now...
"No this isn't camping!" I yelled at her, "Now get over here and help out!"
Twilight must not have heard me because she was still wrapped up in her book.
Suddenly in a flash of light pink, the majority of the tree vanished and in its place were decorated shrubbery. You know the ones you see at rich folks' places. I looked to the window to see that there was still a piece of the original tree but in an easily manageable piece.
Applejack was about to kick it out when she stopped. Her emerald eyes pointed right at Rarity who was looking at her expectantly. I waited for a moment for someone to do something only for the stare off to continue with the only change being that Aj got back on her hooves again. Meanwhile, the rain was continuing to pour in and getting everything, including me, wet.
"BEEP this," I said going over to the window. I took the one end of the log and flipped it outside and slammed the window shut.
Applejack went to the window and made sure that the window was secured in place. With a nod, she turned to me and I gave a nod to her. "Oh dear I look awful," Rarity said and both I and Applejack turned to look at Rarity who was coved in mud and tree stuff.
I gave myself a once over to see that I too was coved, at least my legs were, and a glance at Aj I noted the same.
Aj then rested a hoof on her chin as she thought about something. Before I could ask her what that was she went over to Rarity and seemingly out of nowhere pulled out two slices of cucumbers and placed them over Rarity's eyes.
Hold the goddamn phone! Where did she get those? Is this that weird pony magic shit?
With a giggle, Rarity said, "Thanks," and tried to reach out to the earth pony and failed. Applejack, seeing the unicorn plight, stepped forward and the duo embraced.
Of course, with being dead tried and woken up multiple times I spat out, "Yay everyone is friends again," in the most deadpan tone I could muster. "Now if you don't mind I'm going to rinse off my legs and go to bed."
I made my way to the stairs and paused. With a light glare, I told the girls, "Please keep it down," I begged before I dragged my body downstairs and to the dark abyss that was my room.
After a quick rinse down of my legs in the shower, I crawled to my bed and flopped on it.
I heard the girls giggling upstairs and with a smile on my face closed my eyes. My hands grabbed my blanket and coved my body with it.
With a deep breath, the smell of apples lulled me into a nice deep slumber.
Author's Notes:
Sorry for the lack of updates. Life as been taken me on a lot of turns recently so I was in a state of limbo for a while. One of those reasons is the fact that the school that I'm going to told us all to move just before classes started without any form of help. As such I've been looking for a place to move off-campus as it also no longer safe for me to live on it. On top of that classes have started back up and diverted my attention even further.
Now though I have found a place and I have moved in. Things might be a bit slow but hopefully, the pace will pick up soon.
I'll be graduating in March and moving to another university back home where I'll be studying Theater specializing in acting. This will go a long way in helping me become a voice actor.
As always thanks for the support and patience.
See ya soon.
