“I don’t understand how could it have failed so badly,” the general said watching the news as his country's leader signed the declaration of surrender.
“You was put in charge of the army and set the standards so impossibly high that only 1 in a thousand could even live up to, and while unlike many who set the standards you actually can live up to the standards you set. You refused to lower the standards and while you did ended up with an elite army, they didn’t even number a 1,000 and I’m rounding up,” Celestia said to the general.
“They all should be one man armies,” the general said.
“Sure but seeing how the enemy force just used long range missiles that destroyed the base where they were all station at. It doesn’t matter if they all on paper could defeat an army all by themselves, they can’t survive having bombs that are the most powerful non-nuclear bombs used on them. And the few that either weren’t on the base, we’re all gunned down by the invading enemy forces, seeing how even if they are the elites of the elite super soldiers, they can still die by a bullet to the head. And left your country completely defenseless thanks to having no regular army to support the commandos or defend the nation. The only ones left are the paper pushers and officers who never seen combat or are too old for the frontline,” Celestia said. (1)
“I…,” the general said sitting down.
“You think you be able to run the entire military by yourself? That’s what you made the military of your nation to be, only a handful of elite soldiers and the support staff needed to keep the day by day operations going. And recruiting a new army isn’t doable even if your nation didn’t surrendered. You simply don’t have the time to train new soldiers that could actually fight and win,” Celestia said walking away and leaving the general alone, who pulled out a gun and press the barrel into his mouth.
