“I don’t understand, you’re like me but…,” Lisa Simpsons said staring at Sunset Shimmer who is like her, an activists who makes online videos, a vegetarian, smart, and is the top of their class in college.
“That’s because unlike you who lived in Springfield all of her life, I actually lived in places where people aren’t that dumb and lazy. I had to deal with people who are on my level or better then me. While you… it’s not that hard to be the smart one when everyone else is dumber then you,” Sunset said.
“But how can you be… everything that I’m not?” Lisa asked her mind couldn’t accept that someone who has all of the same interest like her could be everything she had always wanted.
“Let’s see you’re too insistent in forcing others to accept your views while not caring to respect theirs. When that boy tried to get to know you because he thought you’re cute. You abandon him the moment he reveals he is not a vegetarian like you. You’re the laughing stock of the college and online when you admitted you rip up a check worth 12 million because of honor before reason, when you could had used that money to help with causes you say you believe in. Instead the 12 million stayed with Burns instead of you like donating it, and your parents could had used that as a tax write off. But no you decided to just tear it up because you rather have honor that’s worthless,” Sunset said.
“My honor isn’t worthless,” Lisa said frowning.
“Then why are you working at a burger place that serves meat?” Sunset asked pointing to Lisa’s uniform.
“I need the money,” Lisa said weakly, not feeling good about being forced to work at a place that serves meat because of lack of money to pay for collage.
“Yup, now that you’re on your own and not being taken care of by your parents. You suddenly realized that all the things you could do before, you can’t as you have to have money to survive. You’re a snowflake who thinks she special and important, just like all the other people like you who think they’re special and important without ever doing anything that would justify that belief. And worst of all you don’t even care about the causes you fight for. You care more about being the one to break the mold and/or being on the moral high ground than seeing your ideals being carried out. You’re just going to be another use to be a activist when they were younger and once you become a adult who has to work for a living all that isn’t important and you’re really kicking yourself over all the chances you had that you just let go by because you rather have honor and stand for principals that are completely worthless in the real world,” Sunset said.
“No you’re wrong,” Lisa snaps at her.
“Oh yes doubling down on your worthless beliefs so that you can keep yourself from the day you realize that everything you did was worthless and you would had a better life if you had tried to meet people halfway. But no you rather be miserable and alone then admit you're wrong and that being how you are is the reason why you're tossing meat into a grinder to make burgers. Because you walk away from that scholarship simply because it was backed by a company that makes meat products, which you're working a job that said company is supplying with meat. How close am I? How close am I to the reality that you’re running from?” Sunset asked.
Lisa tears up and runs away crying. (1)
