Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Captivity

Previous Chapter

“Everythings... be... alright... didn’t... that hard.”

“Dammit... Joe... that thing... broke... wall!”

“We should... sheriff...”

“NO!”

Twilight drifted in and out of conscious. What ever hit her had left her with an aching head and dried tears on her cheeks. She couldn’t quite make out what she was hearing, but whatever it was, it sounded like an argument.

“We need... sheriff...”

“Again... fuck... sheriff!”

Was she back home? No. She doubted that. Could she be dead? Not likely, she probably wouldn’t be feeling any pain if that was the case. So she hoped. Oh sweet Celestia, she hoped that was the case.

Twilight tried to open her eyes, but the stinging pain coming from the back of her head kept her from doing so. She tried once more. This time Twilight was awarded with a small ounce of light followed by some silhouettes standing around each other arguing.

“Kenny... telling... you... call the sheriff!”

Twilight’s hearing was started to make a comeback and the conversation slowly started becoming more understandable. Her vision cleared and she saw three creatures huddled in a small triangle. From what Twilight could make of her surroundings, the walls looked to be made of smooth, white stone. The floor was a grey rock, which was also smooth, to her left along the wall was a desk covered in tools. To her right was a wrack and on said wrack were what looked to be clothing that was attached to hangers. It reminded Twilight of Rarity’s dressing room, just a very messy dressing room. A dirty... disgusting dressing room. She was scared. Behind the three creatures was a staircase leading upwards, which gave Twilight the indication that she might be underground. A basement perhaps?

“For the last time, Greg.” The alien named Kenny drove Twilight back into reality. “Even if we call the sheriff, there ain’t no way he’s gonna believe us.”

“Of course he is,” The one named Greg replied, “we can just show him.”

“And then what?”

“He can... contact animal control? I don’t fucking know, we just need to get rid of it!”

“Then let it out in the backyard, have it find its own way,” A third unknown voice said.

“What the fuck are you guys talking about?” A fourth voice that appeared to be very close to Twilight said. Out from the left Twilight saw a much shorter, yet wider creature come into her field of view. “Can’t you see what we’re dealing with here?” The three creatures in front of Twilight turned to face the fourth. “This is an amazing discovery!”

“Joe,” Kenny said, “What this thing is: is a wild animal who ruined my home!”

The creature named, Joe sighed and swung back towards Twilight. It looked down at her. “Kenny, forgive me for this. But fuck your wall, quite frankly your wall should be the least of your worries.”

“What the hell are you–”

“Haven’t you guys realized that this thing has fucking wings and a horn?” Joe said cutting Kenny off. “Now I already had a large feeling that this thing wasn’t from around here, but I couldn’t help but try and Google it. And so far, from what I’ve found, no one has ever documented a creature such as this.” Joe knelt down in front of Twilight. “Why hello there.” It leaned towards her, having noticed that she had woken up.

Twilight looked the creature in the eyes fearfully, its tone sounded calm and soothing. But after having been chased around and knocked on the head, it would be a long time before Twilight could start trusting these things (That is if she ever could trust them). Twilight diverted her eyes and tried to scooch away, but something tightly wrapped around her kept in her place. Casting her eyes downwards she saw these black rope like objects that bounded her to a metal pole that stuck out the ground and attached itself to the ceiling.

Twilight knew that she could easily teleport out of these restraints. Matter of fact, she was just about to but was stopped when Joe gently took her by the chin. It forced her to look it straight in the eyes. It was smiling at her calmly. “You have no reason to be afraid, I won’t hurt you.” Joe scratched the bottom of her chin. “However, if you try to use that freaky magic shit on me. I will knock you the fuck out again.” As if to emphasize its point Joe reached over and picked up a metal object that resembled a baseball bat.

Twilight eyed the bat and upon seeing it a small headache resurfaced in the back of her skull. She whimpered quietly. Joe snickered. “Don’t worry, girl.” It placed its hand on top her head and rustled her mane. “Like I said, I won’t hurt ya unless you force me to.”

“Dammit, Joe,” Said one of the unknown creatures, “Stop playin’ with it will ya!”

Joe sighed and stood up, and went back over to the others. “Alright fine.”

“I say fuck keeping it here, we need to call the sheriff.”

“Gadammit, Greg, I said we ain’t getting the sheriff involved.” Kenny snarled.

“I agree,” Joe said and then looked at Kenny. “But we aren't killing it.”

“Bullshit we ain’t–” Joe silenced Kenny by pointing the tip of the bat at it.

“We aren’t killing it Kenny, because think about it.” Joe then pointed the bat back at Twilight causing her to flinch. “We’ve never seen anything like this, hell nobody has.” It lowered his voice and leaned towards Kenny. “This could be our moment, all of our moments. This thing here could be the break we’ve been striving for, the reason we all graduated from university. Kenny, this thing could buy you something better than a new wall or T.V., whatever this is, it’ll make us famous. Better yet, rich!”

Kenny looked at Joe and then stepped away, it broke eye contact and brought a hand to its chin in thought. A few moments passed and it looked Joe in the eyes. “You know what, I think you’re on to something. What do you propose?”

Joe looked to the others and then back at Kenny. “I say we take it back to the university.”

“But no one will believe us!” The creature named Greg proclaimed.

“Says the one who wanted to get the sheriff involved,” Kenny quipped. “What do you think Michael?”

The fourth creature, who had much darker skin than the others, shrugged. “I personally don’t care what we do.”

“Guys,” Greg said, “If you take it to the university and they do believe you guys. It’ll only be a matter of time until someone just goes and buys it off you!”

Joe sighed. “That’s kind of the point, either we make the discovery and become famous. Or we all become millionaires.”

“This kinda makes me sound selfish,” Kenny said, “but I think I’d go for the money.”

Twilight’s eyes widened in horror. “W-wait a second!” She shouted.

The four creatures stumbled back towards the staircase behind them, Joe raised the bat it held upwards. “Wh-what the fuck?!”

“J-Jesus, it talks?!”

“Of course I can talk!” Twilight’s heart hammered itself against her chest, she might have just signed her own death wish. “And what do you mean you’re going to sell me off to somepony else!”

The four creatures stared at Twilight with wide, fearful eyes. “Alright... gentleman.” Kenny said slowly inching its way backwards, “I think its time we... make our way upstairs–” Kenny was cut off by Greg suddenly slumping to the floor. “–Jesus!”

“He fainted!” Michael blurted.

“Get him out of here!” Kenny turned and bolted up the steps while the other two picked up their fallen comrade and dragged it up the stairs.

Twilight watched this with wide eyes as the creatures clumsily stumbled their way upstairs, and to her astonishment. Her previous fears had vanished completely, and instead was replaced with shock. “I can’t believe it...” She muttered, “I was captured by a group of idiots.”

Author's Notes:

A short, but hopefully fun chapter. It's been awhile since I wrote a chapter less than 2K words. Quite honestly it was refreshing, just thought I'd introduce the fourth human character and add some character to him. Hope the few of you who are reading this are enjoying it. Please share your thoughts and I'm always open for ideas!
