11 months later

You're probably wondering about the huge ass time-skip aren't you? Well there is a reason don't worry. For starters, nothing of interest has happened during the past year, no monster attacks, no progress on finding the key to the chest, no major problems needed fixing. Ever since Symbol killed Xram things have been extremely peaceful around here. Granted Octavia has been going through extreme mood swings thanks to the pregnancy but we've grown accustomed to that. Discord opened a theme park that was in its own pocket dimension and constantly expanding as he thought of new ways to create chaos that was fun for the ponies.

Me and Vinyl? What about us? Oh, right, that. Well I took some time to think things over first, she went away on tour for a few months but promised she'd be back in time for the foal to be delivered. That was seven months ago, I'm starting to get worried. I know travel isn't as efficient here in Equestria than it was on earth, but it shouldn't have taken this long to do a tour.

It was getting closer and closer to the birth of my niece, she made a Pinkie Promise to come back in time for that, and I know she'll stay true to that promise. She'd better hurry up though, because right now we're rushing Tavi to the hospital after her water broke. I was carrying her in my arms as I carefully ran towards the hospital on he outskirts of town, the rest of the gang following behind me. I was now 15 approaching 16, I had let my hair grow out a bit and I now wore a coat instead of a shirt.

We didn't know what was going to come out of a foal bred from a human and pony, but Author had assured us nothing would go wrong. When we reached the hospital Vivi went to inform the displaced about the birth while we got Tavi to the maternity ward.

Rushing ahead Twilight informed the doctors and they took Tavi from me and led Twi and I to the ward while everyone else had to sit in the waiting room. As I sat by Octavia while she pushed I held her hoof and Twilight held her other. As the doctor told Tavi to give one last big push the door to the room flew open to reveal a panting and disheveled Vinyl Scratch. "I didn't miss it did I?"

As I was about to answer we all heard the sound of a baby crying, we all stayed silent as the doctor held up the small earth pony filly. It had pink fur and its mane was a dark purple with a white line through it, reminding me of cotton candy. "Congratulations Miss Melody, it's a beautiful, healthy filly."

As the hormones in her brain caused her to forget the pain of the contractions, Octavia held out her hooves and the doctor placed the foal in her arms. Looking down at her baby she started to tear up and smiled. "She's perfect."

I reached over and gently stroked Octavia's dishevelled mane. "You did great Tavi, Symbol would be proud of you." She smiled at me before nuzzling her child.

"She's beautiful Octavia." Twilight said as she kissed her marefriend on the cheek.

"Thank you, I just wish Symbol was here to see this." She wiped a tear from her eye and looked to Vinyl. "Come on Vinyl, come see your niece."

Vinyl slowly walked forward and to my side, her eyes never leaving the filly. She reached her hoof up and tickled the tiny pony, earning the tiniest of giggles from her. "She's... She's so tiny."

I told the doctor that everyone could come in and see the filly. As he left she decided to open her eyes, causing ours to widen as we saw them. Instead of pupils in her purple eyes there were spirals. "Well... that's unexpected."

Tavi looked to her child and smiled. "I think I know what I'm going to call her." We all looked to her expectedly. "Screwball." We all smiled at the name, thinking it suited the filly. Everyone began walking into the room, starting with Marx, Author and Vivi followed by the displaced, Posit and the girls.

Author walked over and picked up Screwball, examining her. "Everything is good as far as I can tell, although there is something you'll have to watch out for."

As Octavia was about to question him the filly sneezed and she momentarily turned into purple flames. "Great, she's got daddy's abilities." Octavia sighed and took the filly back. "I can already tell you're gonna cause mommy some trouble."

"Especially if it's Symbols kid, you are in for a long hard battle Tavi." I said while shaking my head.

"I don't care, she could have been a cross between human and pony and I'd still love her."

"What's wrong with humans?" I asked as well as the displaced in the room. I watched as everyone took turns walking up to Screwball, who giggled as Metal and Gale fought for a turn. I looked to Vinyl and motioned for her to follow me out of the room. "Excuse us everyone."

As I closed the door I glared at Vinyl who flinched under my face.

"Where the hell have you been?! The tour was for three months, not seven!"

She sighed and rubbed her arm with her hoof nervously. "I ran into some trouble in Las Pegasus."

"What kind of trouble?" I asked with ice in my voice, but also concern.

"I can't really explain it."

"Well you better damn well try." I leaned against the wall with my arms folded. "What happened?"

She sighed and looked to the floor. "It's a long story."
