Chapter 14: Catching up

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

Twilight was sitting in her library reading (per usual) when Spike burst through the door. "Spike, what's wrong?" The small dragon panted for a minute before answering.

"Another...human...Symbols...brother..." Then he passed out. Twilight didn't need to hear any more from her assistant so she shot out of the door and rushed around town trying to find Symbol and Zero. After a while she started to run out of breath and sat down on a bench to rest.

"Twilight!" She looked up to see Rainbow Dash flying towards her. "Have you seen the new human yet, he looks just like Symbol."

"I haven't, where are they?"

"They're at Vinyls club at the bar, something about getting a job." Twilight nodded and they both headed for the club.

Symbols POV
Zero and I managed to find him a job at Vinyls club as a bartender, back on earth we worked at a bar in between heists. This bar was actually very similar to the one in Masereth. At least Zero was getting something he'd be familiar with. We were sitting at the bar with some cider talking about what's been happening recently since I got here.

"You punched a princess?"

"Two of them actually." He just burst out laughing.

"You got bigger balls than me bro, how'd you get away with it?"

"The first one was some kinda demon queen and the other got in the way of something, don't worry, they don't hold it against me." He just shook his head and chuckled.

"Dude, this place is crazy."

"You don't know the half of it, I actually met Bill Cipher a few days ago." He spat out his drink and looked at me.

"You met Cipher?" I nodded. "How?"

"I met him in a parallel Equestria when I was given some kind of magical object called a token, I actually made one for myself, so if I randomly disappear I'm most likely in another dimension." I just calmly took a sip of my cider and he facepalmed.

"How do you not go insane from all this?"

"We lived in Masereth, I was pretty far gone before I got here, besides you get used to it." He nodded and took a gulp of his drink.

"Damn this is good." I rolled my eyes as he downed the rest of his drink and we turned to look at the crowd of ponies. "So, you work at a spa now?"

"Don't you judge me, it was the only job I was offered at the time, and I've grown to like the easygoing atmosphere in that place." He shrugged and looked at the crowd.

"Gotta say bro, you've done well for yourself recently, I'm glad that you've been able to get away from all the crazy nightmarish shit back home."

"Yeah..." I looked away slightly. He noticed my sudden change of mood.

"What did you do?"

"A few days ago a group of thugs kidnapped all the kids in town and I went to get them back, when I found their hideout, I slaughtered them like they were nothing." He looked at me and placed a hand on my shoulder.

"Hey, the world is better off without people like that, you did the right thing."

"That's what Abigail used to say." We both hung our heads and picked up our glasses. "To Abigail..."

"...and a better future." We raised our drinks then downed the contents. "Hey Symbol."

"Yeah?"

"Is interspecies stuff legal here?" I spat out my drink and hit him over the head.

Twilight entered the club and saw Symbol and Zero, Zero was holding his head with a large bump on it while Symbol was just shaking his head in disapproval. She noticed her friends in a booth just across from the two brothers and sat down with them.

"Who is that?"

"That's Zero, Symbols twin brother." Explained Applejack as she took a sip of cider.

"Are you sure they should be drinking alcohol, aren't they too young to be drinking?"

"Apparently back on their home world those two would drink to help num the pain of their horrible lives, so they're used to a few pints. Don't you worry none, they said they never drank more than three glasses each week."

"Oh, I'm gonna have to start planning Zeros welcome to Equestria and Ponyville party right away!" Pinkie gulped down her drink and shot out of the club. Twilight just stared at the two brothers as they bickered with each other about something.

"I should send a letter to the princess about this." She got up and started walking out of the club, she took another look at them and walked out.

Symbols POV

After that little incident I went into the Everfree Forest to blow off some steam and develop some new techniques for when I'm fighting in my demon form.

I reached a clearing with some large rocks and switched to my first demon. I looked at my claws and started thinking, I walked over to a rock and started focusing some energy into my hand. I swiped at the rock and it sliced into smaller pieces. My fingertips were glowing purple as I swiped at more rocks, leaving a trail of neon purple lines behind me.

I kept thinking of other ways to perform different attacks and attempted them for about three hours, leaving every rock a crumbling mess. I switched back to my normal self and headed back to town to get some rest after this eventful day.
