It was a supposedly a wonderful day at school for Apple Bloom, learning new things in the Ponyville schoolhouse with Ms. Cheerilee.

Ah find it quite interesting how me and my sister are dating Spike yet Ah'm the one who is still in school. Also, Ah realized Ah'm the only filly in the Harem, Spike must really look quite endearingly on me. *squee* *blushes* Ah like that.

Unfortunately for Apple Bloom, she was daydreaming a bit too much. Ms. Cheerilee called on Apple Bloom in class. Of course Apple Bloom babbled unintelligibly which caused her bullies Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon to taunt her as usual. Those two were bad. Just really bad in general. Also... they were talking about cutie marks... which of course they took advantage of since the farm filly had yet to get her cutie mark. All of this bullying did get to Apple Bloom's head.

Theme.

So Apple Bloom was just moping around after school from all of the bullying that the two bullies threw around at her throughout that day. Well of course Spike was there for his marefriend, what kind of drake would just let such a filly mope around? After all Apple Bloom is the only filly in Spike's Harem, so she should be getting care since the mares know how to take care of themselves... So Spike was holding Apple Bloom as she sobbed about the bullies.

"Spike, why am Ah still a 'blank flank'? Ah mean Ah know Ah am young n' all, but still, look at how much of mah' class has their mark already, what am Ah supposed to do about that?" Apple Bloom sobbed.

Spike was stroking her mane which was soothing for the filly as she snuggled up closer and enjoyed the natural heat that comes from Spike being a dragon.

"Don't worry about it dear Apple Bloom, you are a fine filly, why do you think I chose you over the rest of them?" Spike started, "Remember, whether your flank got a cutie mark or is bare, it's still a fine one..."

This statement of course elicited a blush from both of them.

"*cough* Thank ya kindly Spike, didn't know you thought that way about me," Apple Bloom smirked.

"Fair enough Apple Bloom, but it's not weird since I'm younger, and seriously you have to admire such things once in a while," Spike chuckled.

They both shared a giggle.

"Anyways Apple Bloom, I'm sure you'll find your talent someday," Spike cooed as he gave Apple Bloom a kiss on the lips, "how about we go for a nice treat at Sugarcube Corner?"

Apple Bloom couldn't help but smile at that.

Like a couple of misfits~ Ah can't wait~

"Of course Spike."

And of course they made their way to Sugarcube Corner, of course it wasn't time for Twist's Cute-ceanera which Apple Bloom had agreed to go to earlier... crazily enough in Apple Bloom's own mind. They sat down together in a booth. Pinkie Pie trotted... er... appeared in front of them to take their order.

"Hey ya Apple Bloom! What's up Spike~ So what can I get ya?" Pinkie winked at them.

"Hmm... Apple Bloom how about you pick for us? I just think it's fair that the lady goes first right?"

Both Apple Bloom and Pinkie Pie giggled as Spike winked at them.

"Hmmm... alright Spike~ I think we'll take a strawberry milkshake," Apple Bloom ordered with a smile.

"Okie Dokie Loki! One big Strawberry Milkshake for SpikeBloom coming right up," Pinkie chirped.

Pinkie Pie then thought of something, then whispered to Apple Bloom.

"You know, you and I are really lucky to have a drake like him ya know," Pinkie whispered as she gave Apple Bloom a pat on the head.

"I know," Apple Bloom whispered back with a smile.

Pinkie Pie then went to the back to prepare said milkshake.

Unknown to them, they were being watched by a unicorn filly and a pegasus filly that go by the names Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo respectively.

"That drake looks mighty cute don't you think Scootaloo?" Sweetie Belle commented while they were sitting in a booth that was across the room while sighing lovingly.

"Ugh Sweetie Belle, why do you have to be all mushy? I mean yes he looks cool and all like how Rainbow Dash told me, but... fine yeah whatever, he's cute, but look at the filly he's dating, she doesn't have her cutie mark either!" Scootaloo exclaimed.

It was at this point that Pinkie Pie brought out the milkshake and gave Spike a peck on the lips before she went back to work.

"You see? Even Pinkie Pie got in on that drake!" Sweetie Belle squealed.

"Sweetie Belle, really? I mean we're here to make friends you know, after all we should all band together so then we can put up with Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. Also, getting a new friend would be cool! I mean, even we might be able to get the drake... out... of it..." Scootaloo went all googly eyed, "what? No I didn't say anything."

"Sure Scootaloo, just sure," Sweetie Belle laughed.

While Spike and Apple Bloom were holding claw/hoof and drinking their milkshake while looking lovingly into each others' eyes, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon trotted in and started taunting Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo.

"Well well well, look what we have here, the two blank flanks. Of course they would hang out together, I mean why not? It would take two of them to get anything done since they have no talent," Diamond Tiara sneered.

The two bullies then did their Bump Lump whatever dance in front of them as a taunt.

"Why, I wonder how many blank flanks it would take to change a lightbulb am I right Silver Spoon?"

"Of course, I mean I doubt they could even get the lightbulb off without any talent," was said pony's response.

The two bullies continued their onslaught while Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo were cowering in their seats. Unfortunately for the bullies, this was not unnoticed by Spike and Apple Bloom. The fury in their faces as they watched those two throw insults at two more fillies who have yet to gain their cutie marks was enough to make Spike do something about that.

"Oh, I wouldn't do that if I were you," Spike commented.

It was at this point that Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon turned around and saw Apple Bloom and Spike, idiotically enough they decided to continue their onslaught in front of a freaking dragon.

"Oh look what we have here, it's the couple of misfits, they would fit fine together, awwww look they're even sharing a milkshake," Diamond Tiara taunted.

"HEY! At least he knows how to treat me right!" Apple Bloom commented.

"What was that? I never heard a blank flank talk back before, I mean that is just amazing isn't it?"

"Alright, you've gotten on your last straw Diamond Tiara," Spike warned. (Apple Bloom already told Spike about her.)

"Oh and what are you going to do about it? You're just a young dragon, what can you possibly do to us?"

*record scratch* (Really now?)

There were no warning shots. Spike just full on blasted flame and singed the tops of the manes of Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. They ran out screaming and crying like little school fillies... oh wait... Anyways this was not unnoticed by Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo.

Awww isn't he the sweetest drake? He just took a stand for us~ (This is Sweetie Belle's Color, not to be confused with Rarity's.)

Whoa! He's a FIRE BREATHING DRAGON? *deep breathing* (This is Scootaloo's Color, not to be confused with Applejack's.)

Apple Bloom and Spike were standing in front of the two new fillies who seem to have gone off on a tangent. Sweetie Belle was just dreamily sighing like a little derp while Scootaloo was just staring at Spike with wide eyes while deeply breathing. It took a while for them to snap out of it.

"Errrr... ya two okay?" Apple Bloom asked.

"*deep breathing*"

"*dreamy sigh*"

"Ummm you two fillies okay there?" Spike asked while poking at both of them.

"*deep breathing*"

"*dreamy sigh*"

"I'm okay!" Pinkie Pie appeared out of nowhere and cheerfully replied.

"Oh, hi Pinkie Pie," both Apple Bloom and Spike responded.

Pinkie Pie then looked from them to the two derpy-acting fillies.

"Ya need help with that?" Pinkie asked while pointing to them.

"Yep," Spike and Apple Bloom responded.

Pinkie Pie was using her Pinkie Sense and of course detected that those two fillies wanted Spike as well as to know Apple Bloom. So what does a pony do when they have this foreknowledge? Well in Pinkie Pie's case she gave both of them a push forward so they both landed on Spike. It was then that both of the derpy fillies immediately got off and apologized.

"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!" Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo apologized.

"Eh, don't worry about it," Spike spoke as he dusted himself off.

"I think we should properly introduce ourselves, I am Sweetie Belle, and this here is Scootaloo, it was quite brave what you did back there, those two stuck-ups would never stop bullying us," Sweetie Belle extended a hoof for a hoofshake.

Sweetie Belle you smart cookie~

Of course Spike shook the young unicorn's hoof, that would be just Darude Sandstorm.

*squee* His claw is soft~

Hey! Wow Sweetie Belle. *pout*

Apple Bloom was just amused.

"*cough* The name's Apple Bloom, you two sure seemed interested in our date from afar. Wipe those innocent looks on y'all faces."

The two new fillies could only squee.

"Figured, anyways what do you two want with us?" Apple Bloom inquired.

"Well, we noticed you have no cutie mark either!" Sweetie Belle chirped, her voice cracking as usual.

"Yeahhhh, and you two don't either," Apple Bloom commented.

"Yeah... we should hang out sometime! It's nice to have another friend ya know, you looked quite lonely in class," Sweetie Belle broke the awkwardness.

"Sure... Sweetie Belle? You going to Twist's Cute-ceanera?"

"Yeap we sure are, we thought if the three of us stick together, then Diamond Tiara wouldn't be able to bully us as much," Scootaloo matter-of-factly stated.

"Sure, you two seem like nice fillies, and Ah thought I was the only one with a flank that's blank in the class."

"Well as you can see," Scootaloo stated while she and Sweetie Belle... waved their flanks at Apple Bloom and Spike, "that is not the case."

Spike blushed a bit from that show of flank. Apple Bloom was just amused.

"Y'all like our flanks don't ya Spike?" Apple Bloom smirked.

The three fillies could only laught at Spike's reddening face.

"So that's what the drake's name is, it's quite a fitting name," Sweetie Belle squee'd as she took a nice look at Spike.

Spike... Such a cute name *dreamy sigh*

Spike? That's a cool name and is very descriptive and simple. I like it.

"Soooo see you two here in a few? Me and Spike have to get back on our date, oh, Pinkie Pie you can join too. Ah see you over there ya know. Yeahhh... Harem stuff, fun," Apple Bloom farewell'ed.

"Alright, it was nice meeting you two Apple Bloom and Spike," Scootaloo responded in the most poker face manner as possible.

Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo exited with quite the amount of smiles on their faces.

EEEEEEEE!!!! So excited! Another filly friend without a cutie mark AND meeting that cute drake that has a Harem I could possibly join? I love today already~

Well Scootaloo, that is mission accomplished right there! Harem means I can still get in~

Now that Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo have left Sugarcube Corner to prepare for the Cute-ceanera, Pinkie Pie jumped into the booth next to Apple Bloom.

"So Spike, how's the date going?" Pinkie Pie chirped.

"Well it was going nice until Apple Bloom's bullies came in, seriously from the look of it, they are just stuck up and irredeemable," Spike matter-of-factly stated.

"Spike you silly~ You stood up to them ya know. Also you did protect the younger sister of Rarity~" Pinkie Pie cooed.

"Wait what? Rarity has a younger sister?!?!" Spike exclaimed.

"Yep! Sweetie Belle!"

Ohhh... this is going to get awkwarder...

Spike then fainted after blabbing some incoherent words.

"Spike? Oh..." Apple Bloom spoke.

"Maybe I shouldn't have said that?" Pinkie responded.

"Well... I'll get him back to the Library since y'all have to set up the Cute-ceanera. He should be refreshed in time for the it."

Of course that was so. Pinkie Pie went back to work setting up while Apple Bloom, being a tough filly, flung Spike over her back and started trotting back to the Golden Oaks Library. She arrived at the door and knocked. Of course, Twilight Sparkle answered.

"Hello? Oh hi Apple Bloom... what's Spike doing drooling off of your back?" Twilight questioned.

"Ah, yeah he learned about Sweetie Belle, Rarity's younger yet older than him sister," Apple Bloom matter-of-factly stated.

"Heh, didn't know that he didn't think the two were related," Twilight chuckled.

"Yeahhh, it's understandable."

Apple Bloom then of course entered and lobbed Spike onto a nearby couch. Twilight and Apple Bloom then proceeded to chat about their lives to pass the time till the Cute-ceanera. During this time Spike woke up.

"Huh... oh, I'm in the library... Hi Twilight. Hi Apple Bloom."

"Ah, you are awake," Twilight spoke while both she and Apple Bloom each gave him a peck on the lips.

"Soooo... what did I miss?"

"Well after Pinkie Pie told you that Sweetie Belle was Rarity's younger sister, you passed out. Ah had to carry you all the way here mahself," Apple Bloom matter-of-factly spoke.

Oh, that cute filly, not that Apple Bloom is already an adorable filly. I mean seriously, I can't look at Sweetie Belle without going to some extent "googly eyed.

Spike blushed a bit at how strong Apple Bloom was. He was strong too himself but didn't know that they were about equal in strength. He then had a thought.

I wonder if I could lift the filly... *blush*

Spike of course did that. Before Apple Bloom could know it, she was on her back looking up at Spike. A small squee escaped her mouth.

Well well well, didn't know he was that strong too.

Twilight was just amused at the young ones.

It's nice to know both of them still have their youth. Just happy that I met all of these wonderful friends and have the opportunity to share my life long friend with them. As long as they don't hurt him, I'm okay with all of this.

Apple Bloom just cuddled in Spike's embrace and enjoyed the closeness. Twilight decided to joke around and levitated both of them off the ground. This got her a amused look from the two young ones.

"What I lack in physical strength I make up in magical ability you know," Twilight mused with a smirk.

This just made all three of them laugh.

It then came time for the Cute-ceanera. Twilight was attending obviously since Apple Bloom was going. Spike... well duh. Apple Bloom and Spike of course were allowed a ride on Twilight's back. They arrived and entered. Twilight went off to chat with Pinkie Pie. Surprisingly Pinkie Pie wasn't being all hyper like she usually is, mainly because she and Twilight were very close friends. Apple Bloom and Spike found Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle sitting around a table chatting away about things. The two joined up with the other two and they all started talking about things. It came to a point where Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle all agreed to make a club, of course as any esteemed fan would know, the club was named "The Cutie Mark Crusaders" or "The CMC" for short. Spike technically isn't and is a member since... well dragons can't get cutie marks. Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo had some thoughts during their chat.

Ooooo! Cutie Mark Crusaders! Sounds fun~ And also Spike is not just cute, but a fun drake to chat with~ I knew this was going to be a good day!

Cutie Mark Crusaders! Sounds awesome like Rainbow Dash! Time to finally do something about this cutie mark-less flank! *squee* I can also see why Dash has a thing for this drake, he's cool yet straight to the point. None of the extra unneeded stuff.

It was at this point, the snob known as Diamond Tiara wanted to get herself some attention. She started to denounce the CMC for showing up to a party that was meant for those who have cutie marks when they themselves don't have their cutie marks. She also then started to insult Spike some more thinking that he wouldn't spew fire again. These insults to the innocent fillies did not go unnoticed by Pinkie Pie and Twilight Sparkle. One could see the seething rage that comes as a result from anypony who dares insult Spike or any of their companions in the Harem. They went right behind Diamond Tiara.

"Really now, what's wrong with having no cutie mark?" Twilight asked.

Diamond Tiara turned around and sneered.

"What? They're talent-less and useless. I mean why are they even here? All ponies should have their cutie marks."

Twilight got visibly angry.

Who does this filly think she is? Seriously, we all had no cutie mark at some point. Also being a rich stuck up isn't helping it either.

"Now look here, you were a cutie mark-less filly at some point, and if you are not going to let up, I'm going to have to ask you to leave, this isn't your party now is it? And we can't have rude guests here at all," Twilight raged.

"MAKE ME!"

Those were the words that Diamond Tiara would regret. Twilight levitated said filly off the ground. Twilight wasn't a pony for ageism. All ponies will be treated the same way. After all, that was one of the reasons she was okay with loving Spike who was five years younger than her. Anyways, Twilight threw the ungrateful excuse of a pony out of Sugarcube Corner in such a way that she would land in the mud and locked the doors. Silver Spoon didn't attend the party since she was busy. (*cough* Covering all my bases.) Twilight then rushed to the CMC and Spike.

"You okay there you three?" Twilight asked.

"Of course Twilight!" Apple Bloom cheerfully replied, "Oh yeah, this is Twilight Sparkle, the Alpha Mare of Spike's Harem."

"Nice to meet you! Rarity told me about you!" Sweetie Belle smiled a big toothy grin.

"Same here, Rainbow Dash told me about you, you seemed like an egghead," Scootaloo commented.

Twilight facehoofed.

"Ugh. I'm going to have a talk with Rainbow Dash about that," Twilight fumed a bit.

"HI I'M PINKIE PIE!" well the reader knows who said that one.

"Yes we know Pinkie, you told us like three times so far today," Sweetie Belle commented.

There was now an awkward pause between the six of them.

"Anyways... I didn't seem to have properly introduced myself. I am Spike the Dragon, the drakefriend to Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Applejack, Apple Bloom, and Rarity... yes it's a herd, or in your case Harem," Spike introduced.

"WAIT! YOU ARE THE DRAKE FRIEND THAT RARITY WAS TALKING ABOUT?" Sweetie Belle squeaked.

"Whoa, didn't think she would be THAT subtle about things," Spike laughed.

The Cute-ceanera then went MUCH more smoothly now that Twilight had kicked the snob out. That got Twilight thinking about how special the CMC were since they had still yet to find their talent. The search that they would have is a once in a lifetime thing. Although some ponies have a short search, ponies like them have the privilege of being able to try a plethora of things to find their place in Equestria. Not to mention most importantly she found that Apple Bloom still made friends even when she thought being a "blank flank". In fact, being a "blank flank" is what allowed her to make friends in the first place. She decided to write a note to Princess Celestia.

Dear Princess Celestia,
I am happy to report that one of your youngest subjects (Apple Bloom) has learned a valuable lesson about friendship. Sometimes the thing you think will cause you to lose friends and feel left out can actually be the thing that helps you make your closest friends and realize how special you are.
