Prologue Part 1: The new soldier.

Equestia: The first Intergalactic empire

.

-Early History: The galactic empire we know today was originally made from a peace treaty between the three faction leaders: Chancelor Pudding Head, representing Humans from planet Earth; Commander Hurricane, representing the Angels from planet Sora; and Princess Platinum, representing the Mages from planet Alliage. Though these three made the peace, it was really each of their personal assistant who made peace with each other: Chancellor's Smart Cookie, Commander's Private Pansy, and Princess's Clover the Clever. They all discovered the real enemy was, a now extinct race, called Banshees. The Banshees were responsible for both controlling the minds of large populations with the screeches that sound like wind blowing, and used climate controlling technology to freeze entire planets, possible the first being Pluto with a different species. All three leaders, with the help of their armies, banded together and defeated the Banshees, unthawing nearly every planet and the rise of Equestria began.

-The Immortal Leaders: Even though all three races were at peace, power struggling was present between all three forms of government. Humans believed in electing a leader as a way for all three to follow under, Mages believe in choosing the most experienced leader as a means to lead, and Angels believe in choosing a famous hero as a leader to make an example for everyone. This continued on for a few years, until the Mage's wisest individual, the famous Starswirl the Bearded, made his idea: make a leader using all the gathered information of each species leader to make an individual that will be equally and fully all three species as one. Skepticism was in all three, but they agreed, having each of their scientists work together to make what was a new species that had all three together. After years of hard work, it was finished: the result was Celestia. Celestia, though a child at first and confused about what was happening, having the memories of all leaders in her mind, seeing each of their pros and cons at once. After years of practicing, mastering her Mage's psychological abilities, the Angel's flight abilities, and Human's physical & mental will, she was ready to lead the unified land. It was, until, seeing how she was alone, demanded a sibling. With no other choices available, the scientists created Luna, the sister to Celestia. With Celestia, Luna learned from her older sister quickly, and soon, became the leader of security along with personal advisor. In what was a long time, everyone soon realized that, despite being quite human, can't die from natural causes. With this, the sister's species have been labeled 'Immortals', for being able to live entire lifetimes with no signs of aging whatsoever. While they may live while others die, they still need protection, for someone may be able to kill them with anything needed to kill a human, mage, or angel. Specialization was spread throughout the galaxy, as Celestia & Luna, with their scientists, made what was a way to turn any of the three species into an immortal like themselves, all thanks to an Angel locally named 'Cadence', but the princess swear to only use it on someone who has personally worked under them and shows great acts of feats that were meant to help others, not themselves. The last one was Twilight Sparkle.

The Prime Races:

-Humans: Originating from planet Earth, Humans are considered to be the most cunning & clever out of all the three species, for they don't have psychological abilities like Mages nor can fly like Angels. While being physically faster & stronger than the two, humans only charge ahead as a means for distraction, as they come up with plans ahead of time as a means if anything goes wrong. Many humans soldiers are categorized as one of two soldiers: speed and strength. Speed soldiers run ahead as a means to distract enemies, scout ahead, cuase hit & runs, ECT, while Strength soldiers are used as a way to attack enemies head on, carry loads of equipment, act as security in ordered areas, ECT. Because of human's cleverness and surprisingly strong sense of morality, both Mages and Angels respect them for that.

-Angels: Origninating from planet Sora, Angles are very warrior like with a strong sense of honor, loyalty, and endurance. The most noticeable thing about Angels is their wings: fully feathered and slowly molt away, strangely turning into the individual's favorite color in their subconscious. Not only do these wings give them their name, but their ability to fly as well; In flight, Angels can travel at speeds up to Mach 3, rivaling the fastest of planes and not have serious injuries to their body. Many of their soldiers usually act as scouts with the addition of hit & run tactics, though their army has been known to use guerilla warfare, usually flying in and taking over any base from brute force. With this, Angels are feared, but still respected by both Humans and mages.

-Mages: Originating from planet Alliage, Mages seek for more knowledge in the universe and act more as scientists, philosophers, and teachers. While looking very similar to Humans in nearly every way, two things help distinguish humans from Mages: Ears and Hands. Mages ears are described to be more pointed, similar looking to that of Elves in old hum mythologies, but hands are more recognizable: while normal looking, Mage hands have blotches in their palms, each unique like fingerprints, but glow their favorite color in their subconscious whenever a mage uses it's psychological abilities. Mages psychological abilities vary, but most are able to levitate objects weighing up to 50Lbs easily and teleport themselves in a range of three meters. While this is normal Mage abilities, some more powerful mages have made bubble shields around themselves & some allies, can control some forces of nature, and can brainwash their own kind. Even with these abilities, Mages minimize their abilities, only using it for self defense. That's why, in their army, they work together to make huge barriers around their base, and act as infiltration teams, momentarily changing their DNA to match Human & Angel genetics, and attack them inside their headquarters. Mages, with their advancement in technology & teachings, have been loved and respected by Humans and Angels.

-Immortals: A mix of all three species, Immortals were made as a way to understand all three races and bring everyone peace. They have the ears & hands of a mage, the wings of an angel, but are described to act more as humans, and stand at 7 feet high. Only 4 Immortals are around: Queen Celestia (The oldest and tallest), Princess Luna (Celestia's genetic sister), Cadence (An angel turned Immortal), and Twilight Sparkle (Personal student to Celestia, mage turned immortal, and the youngest & shortest Immortal). Immortals are given their name because, as Celestia and Luna noticed, while everyone died of old age, after growing for 21 years, they never age at all, nor feel weak with said years. Because of this, they've ran Equestria for many centuries, adapting to the new technologies that come along quickly, and have developed a way for someone else to become an immortal like themselves, thus giving Princess Cadence. While reported to be strong in every way, they need a lot of protection from only the best soldiers with best engineers around, for, though there's been attempts, someone could kill the immortals using tactics that would kill anyone else, along with an accident of any kind.

Other Races:

-Dracos: Also called 'Drakes', Dracos are named for their having dragon-like looks, abilities, and mindset. Many of these things include: scales all over their back, clawed hands, a tail that can act as a third arm, razor sharp teeth, being taller than 7 feet (for most),high tolerance to extreme temperatures, can breathe in & use fire, and (with a few exceptions) their wings that help them fly freely. Drakes have a deep love for minerals that are considered expensive for both wealth and, though very strange, as snacks, which fascinates all scientists in their physiology. Drakes all share a code called 'The Draco's Code', in which if a Drake's life is saved by anyone, even their own kind, they will become a slave for life & guardian until either their master dies, they die, or the serving drake is, after a dangerous task, allowed to be free. Though this stuff is known, Drakes are considered a solitary species, who can live alone for many centuries, usually avoiding any civilization.

Locations:

-Canterlot: Rumored to be the same planet that Hurricane, Cupcake, and Platinum made the peace treaty, Canterlot is the planet where Celestia & Luna live in and is the planet where many of the galaxy's order comes from. Canterlot not only acts as a central HUB for all politicians, but is also a place where any sentient can settle disputes peacefully, a grand tourist attraction for all kinds of people, the planet that hosts many of the most powerful companies around, and has the best protection thanks to all of it's soldiers on patrol, 24/7 with shifts. Many of the planet's plantlife are all but gone, everything made by hand, but, thanks to quantum physics, they've been able to make oxygen from everyone's breath, taking their carbon dioxide and making more oxygen, allowing all to breath normally. The most recognizable feature of Canterlot is the castle of the royal sisters, where it stands much taller than any other building, and, every year, hosts the Grand Galloping Gala: a party that the rich go to as a means to talk business with each other, greet Celestia & Luna personally, and all having a good time, forgetting their troubles on that night.

-The Crystal Empire: Originally the colony taken over by the infamous King Sombra 1000 years ago, the Crystal Empire received it's namesake for not only it's residents turning into crystal beings, but also have crystals that are experimented on to, hopefully, become a near endless supply of energy. The Kingdom itself is ran by the immortal Princess, Cadence, and her husband Mage, Prince Shining Armor. Though the residents have taken some years to adjust going back to space travel, they all celebrate the unlikekly hero that saved them all: Spike.

-Ponyville: A colony that was the smallest & youngest in the galaxy, Ponyville got it's name because the pioneers that began colonization didn't really have the technology needed to make things, so the people needed to work together and used horses, more specifically, ponies, to help build their homes. The colony is about 90 years old now, is slowly growing with a population of 5000 residents, and has been the center of attention for many strange activities, one of them being a duel between Princess Twilight and Self claimed conqueror, Tirek. With the introduction of the new castle, and with the aid of Canterlot, more soldiers have been on patrol around the colony, adding a sense of security to the local population.

Profile:

-Twilight Sparkle: The newest Immortal, Twilight was originally a mage and personal student to Queen Celestia. She's been known to always study various topics, memorizing every fact she's learned & sharing it with others, and practice her psychological abilities, many of the mages feel she's the ultimate example of a true mage as of the olden times. Originally, she didn't want any friends, but, in their first adventure, Twilight rescued the galaxy, defeated & reformed the dreaded Nightmare Moon back to Luna, and discovered what true friends are like in the process. With her friends, Twilight has been going on multiple adventures around the galaxy, saving the world multiple times from threats that could end their lives as they know it. With all of her feats, large knowledge on all things possible, and, with her selflessness, became both an Immortal and Princess. Though she may be royalty, she isn't afraid to interact with her subjects as any other person, and she still goes out with her friends on a regular basis.

-Spike: A young Drake that was raised by the Immortal turned Mage, Twilight Sparkle. During his childhood, Spike was Twilight's personal assistant in everything around her from practicing her abilities to cleaning the house, which is added by his playfulness, his sensitivity towards others & himself, trying to be considered 'manly' while surrounded by the opposite gender for most of his life, his greed & generosity, actual heroism that made him a hero in the Crystal Empire, and, to top it all off, his crush on the fashion driven Mage, Rarity. While having the abilities of his Draco heritage (minus wings), he's been able to show his skills as a sports commenter & announcer for many things, being able to play both the drums & piano with ease, and his baking skills that, when he's under control & not crazy, can make delicious treats for all to eat. After joining the Canterlot Army, his skills have grown by using & modifying pistols, assault rifles, & shotguns,  adding his own abilities to help him in combat, and is considered a natural leader, getting to know his comrades before hand & use their skills in combat, lowering the amount of casualties that most commanders would do. Fate will only know what will happen next in his life.

October 10, 3940. Ponyville castle.

It was a normal day on the colony named 'Ponyville'. Many of it's residents, Humans, Mages, and Angels, continue their daily lives, as their colony slowly but gradually turns into dystopia, thanks to the help of the new Immortal and Princess with her castle, standing proud & over all the buildings, Twilight Sparkle. Inside her castle, the Immortal was having a turmoil with her adopted, younger Draco brother, Spike. The two sat in front of each other, as Twilight looked through some papers, enlisting her younger brother to join. Twilight had all the featrures of an immortal: her hands & ears of a mage were present and her new, lavender colored wings stuck out of her dress: a red-pink colored dress with yellow sleeve endings, collar, & drapes that were over a white ending that blended in into said dress. Spike, on the other hand, stood about as tall as any young adult, wearing a purple hoodie with a matching, darker shade of pants, covering his scaled body that disappeared under his green, natural spiked scales that, when not too close, look like hair. His tail stood out underneath his hoodie, and two small canines stuck out of his upper lip, allowing everyone to see that he was a Draco, but a civilized one for that manner.

"Spike?" Twilight asked, looking through the papers "Are you sure you want to join?"

"I am, Twilight." Spike replied in a voice that was cool and mature about this.

"You know... the Canterlot army isn't really accepting of other species, right?"

"I know very well, Twilight, but with something like this, I know I must answer."

"But... are you really sure? You can do so much here right now! I mean, you're still a hero to the residents of the Crystal Empire!"

"Yes. I know I'm remembered by them, and I'm not surprised if they keep my names in their history books, but I'm not doing this for personal glory... not really... I'm doing for you, Twilight."

"...For me?"

"Yes. Look, you're a princess, you have royal duties to attend to, right?"

"Why yes, I do, but I don't understand why-"

"Hear me out. what are you going to do if you hear that someone's trying to assassinate you?"

"...Spike. Please, I don't think-"

"There's always a group of people who hates what you, Celestia, Luna, and Cadence are doing, and there's always someone who will do the extreme! Now, what do you do?"

"...Well... I'll send some guards out to investigate to see if they're true or not."

"Go on."

"And... if it's real... I'll be sure to get my guards around me for protection."

"Ah Ha! But what do you do if they say a guard is trying to kill you!?"

"A guard? I... didn't think about that at all. Well... I say I can get my friends to-"

"Ah! Let's be honest here... they're not going to be around forever." Twilight gasped

"SPIKE!!! How could you say that!?"

"Look, I'm sorry, but it's true; your friends will not be around forever. You are now an immortal: your kind doesn't age at all, and your friends... they won't be around forever. You can try helping them in delaying their deaths, but they won't be around to help you forever."

"SPIKE!!! What give you the right to say that!? Even if they won't be around forever, they'll at least help me out in my time of need now!!!"

"...Twilight, are you sure? What are they doing now?"

"Well... Pinkie Pie is a host for most of Equestria's Parties, Applejack is usually doing something with her family, Rainbow Dash is now with the Wonderbolts, Rarity now opened her own Boutique in Canterlot, and Fluttershy... I really have no idea what's going with her."

"Neither does anyone else. But when you're in trouble, do you think anyone will be able to help you?"

"Of course they would! They'd-"

"They would, but it doesn't mean they can't! Think about it Twi, what if you're in trouble and they're busy with something! Do you honestly think they'll drop everything and help you!?"

"...Well... when you put it that way-"

"And if they are open, what's not from saying a message your sending gets blocked! And I don't mean just from phone company plans on texting or calling, but your attackers may have tools that can slow down or entirely stop calls & messages all together!"

"... alright... I get your point. But you really think they'll send you to guard me? I mean, what if-"

"Don't you remember? Your brother is now general of the Canterlot army! I'm pretty sure he'll accept my request to guard you, Twilight."

"And if he doesn't?"

"...I'll accept who I have to defend then."

"Without any complaints?"

"Without any complaints." The two stared at each other, then Twilight giggled. "What's so funny?"

"Oh Spike. I just remember all the memories I had since I raised you when you were hatched. It's quite funny to see how you've grown and matured throughout the years."

"I just hope I'm not the laughing stock anymore." Twilight got up and walked to Spike, placing her right arm and lavender wing around him.

"You're not a laughing stock, Spike. You're my little brother! Though adopted, I still consider you to be my brother, and you've been helpful in many ways, more than I can think of." Spike turned to her and smiled.

"Thanks Twilight."

"It's no problem. But are you sure you want to begin now?" He got up from his chair, cracking his back.

"I'll pack my stuff."

After packing his bathroom stuff, clothing, some pictures, and his small comic book collection, Spike and some of the residents of Ponyville, stood together, waiting for their ship to arrive. Many of them were also enlisting the Canterlot army, while others were probably just going for vacation or business. The enrolled residents whispered to each other many comments that, if he weren't patient, he may have yelled at and made himself look worse than what he was born as.

"What's a Drake doing here?"

"Is he seriously trying to join the Canterlot army?"

"They'll tear him up faster than how he destroys cities."

"He's only joining to get more attention."

Just be patient, Spike, He thought to himself No need to get angry. Remember: this is all for Twilight's safety. A few minutes passed, and the space train docked near them, opening it's various doors as people walked out. The people around Spike picked up their various belongings and went inside. Spike followed the crowd, but stopped as he heard someone familiar

"Spike!" Twilight's voice yelled. Spike turned and was greeted with an Immortal lifting him up in a tight hug, with tears rolling down her face.

"Twilight!?" Spike yelled in surprise "What are you doing here!?" He was dropped, as he saw Twilight sniffling to herself, trying not to cry hard

"I wanted... to say... goodbye, Spike!" Spike got up and carefully wiped a tear from her face while moving a lock of hair out her face.

"I'm not going to be gone forever, Twilight. I will return. I probably won't be part of your security, but I will return." She looked up to him, still tearing up a bit, but calming down.

"You... promise?"

"I Pinkie Promise."

"You... cross your heart-"

"Hope to fly-"

"Stick a cupcake in my eye!" They both finished in unison. Twilight smiled a bit, then went in for another hug. Spike gently patted her back.

"I'll miss you, Spike." Twilight spoke.

"I'll miss you too." Spike replied

"Tell Shining Armor I said 'Hi'."

"I will." Twilght released Spike, allowing him to enter the space train. He took an open seat near a window, and waved Twilight goodbye. Twilight waved a goodbye as well. Some beeping was heard inside, a hiss, some clanging, and the train was off, exiting the planet's atmosphere until it was nothing but a small dot.

"Thank you for taking the Ponyville/Canterlot Express train." The conductor spoke through his microphone with some feedback. "In a few short hours, we will be arriving in Canterlot, the capital planet of Equestira. Please, make sure you clean up after yourself and don't forget your belongings. Thank you all and have a pleasant day.

A few hours later, the train landed on Canterlot, and, just as Spike remembered it, the land was beautiful: The whole place was always clean, the building always seemed to shine, people walked around & discussed different forms of philosophy or business, and, as he saw himself doing in a few years, guards patrolling around the city to keep the peace, protect, & serve the immortals. He swore he saw Rarity waving goodbye to a customer, who had on a clean white suit, but that could be judged later. The train landed in one of it's docks, and Spike, with everyone else, took their stuff and left, hearing the roar of crowds as people walked together as herds of sheep, heading to their next destination with their own goals in mind.

"Welcome to Canterlot!" The recorded voice of Celestia spoke to everyone "I hope you enjoy your stay here! Please, enjoy one of our fine restaurants and stores; each one offers a different experience. We offer great deals if you wish to open your won store here, and we promise you your money's worth. If you wish to make your military career, then please, stay where you are and wait for a representative to show up. They will show up every hour, so if one can't make it, please, be patient until the next arrives in the next hour." Spike and some the new recruits all sat together on a bench, waiting for the representative to appear. They still whispered some things about Spike, most harsh about his kind, but he kept his cool and observed some of the various residents & tourists walking to their destination.

It was luckily only 12 minutes of waiting for all of them. A lone guard in the standard golden armor, a mage by his appearance with his weapons strapped to his back, walked to them.

"Are you the new recruits?" He simply asked. Without a word, everyone, including Spike, nodded in agreement. He pulled out a notebook and began to announce their names. Spike didn't listen nor remembered any of their names: he could tell some were going to quit within the week while others were most likely going to be transferred somewhere else.

"Spike?" The guard announced.

"That's me." Spike replied, getting up. The guard had a shocked look on his face.

"You're... a draco?"Spike looked up to the guard and tilted his head to the left

"Yeah. Something wrong?"

"We... never received any Drakes before. Are you sure you can do this? You're not going to-"

"No. I may be a Draco, but I'm not going to follow the legacy of my kind destroying everything in their path. I am going to do what I'm ordered to do and prove that my kind is not what they think. If there can be a small colony of my kind in Fillydelphia who can live peacefully with others, then I can prove that we can be a true asset to Equestria!" The guard looked at him with a stern look.

"...Admirable. But that's not going to help you here. Are you willing to commit, no matter what we say?"

"Yes sir!"

"Good. Follow me then everyone, our training will begin tomorrow." He turned around and they all followed. The whispering got louder around Spike's actions, but, nonetheless, the remained silent as they went inside a standard training deck around the castle and unpacked their stuff , preparing for tomorrow's training.
