Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Combat Training 101

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

“Alright idiots, yesterday we learn somewhat about displaced humans. Today’s lesson is all about using your new powers and getting a feel for them.” Said Grail as he summon a chalkboard with the words fighting class 101. “And today we’re getting another surprise guess from the mutiverse.”

“And who will that be Grail-kun?” Asked Caster.

The Holy Grail levitated a diamond right in front of him. “Oh you’ll see. Hey Kat Shifter and Raven Masters I summon you two here.” He said as a portal appeared in front of the servants. “And don’t let me summon you two by force if you refuse to come here.”

“Gah!” a black and red haired girl screamed as she fell out of the portal. “God dammit! Not this shit again!”

“Stop whining, Raven,” another girl said as she walked through behind her friend. “I told you this kind of stuff is going to happen a lot. Just think of them as learning opportunities.”

“Oh shut up!” Raven fumed causing her friend to giggle.

“Ah good you two came to my request, guess I didn’t have to come over there and get you myself then huh?”

“Another displaced humans, really grail?” Said Gilgamesh. “Why can’t you summon a servant to teach us?”

“Cause their busy doing important stuff at the moment, so these two kids will teach you for today.” He said as the vanished. “Oh keep an eye on Caster, make sure she doesn’t do anything stupid to provoke that Raven girl.”

“Tch, dick head of a grail.” Said Gilgamesh.

“Okay, what the fuck is going on?” Raven asked, looking around. “I swear, Kat, this Displaced shit still makes no sense.”

“You get used to it,” Kat shrugged.

“I’m sorry about that, the Holy Grail can be a bit odd at time but he means well.” Saber said as she extended a hand towards Kat & Raven. “Anyway my name is Saber The King of Knights, it’s a pleasure to meet you two.”

“A pleasure,” Kat shook her hand. “I am Kat Shifter, Queen of Gravity. My friend here is Raven Masters, the Master of Gravity.”

“Whatever,” Raven sighed.

“Sorry about her,” Kat gave them an apologetic look. “She’s not too big of a fan of Displaced stuff unless we’re fully off the clock.”

“And once again the grail fucks someone over again.” Said Gilgamesh. “Though your sister looks like she could kill someone….hey Caster wanna have a new friend?”

“Oh boy do I!” Caster teleport next to Raven and gave her a hug. “Yay, I get a new friend!”

“General?” Raven said in a harsh tone. “Permission to kill?”

“Denied, lieutenant,” Kat sighed. “We make friendly relations, remember? Killing a fellow Displaced flies in the face of that.”

“Goddammit.”

“Heh good luck trying to kill her, Gilgamesh try that but it fail epicly.” Said Saber. “Oh before I forget these are my friends. Gilgamesh The Queen of Heroes, and Tamamo-no-Mae or Caster for short.”

“Yep that’s me Queen of all heroes, and our idiot friend Caster.” Said Gilgamesh.

“It is very nice to meet you three,” Kat nodded. “I’m sure Raven would feel the same, but you know how workaholics can be.”

“I can still hear you.”

“Good, maybe you’ll listen for once.”

“Oh yeah I had a friend like her.” Saber points to Gilgamesh.

“Screw you jackass. And Caster stop hugging Raven, she looks like she’s going to kill you at any second.”

“But she so huggable.” Caster hugged Raven even tighter.

“You want huggable?” Raven asked, a sinister grin forming on her lips.

Kat understood immidiately. “Oh no, Raven you’d better not--” Too late as Raven slugged her sister in the chest, a green light going off. When it died down, a quadrupedal blonde pony had taken Kat’s place. “Fils de pute!”

“Sorry, general,” Raven said, trying to keep herself from laughing. “It was an honest mistake.”
Caster stopped hugging Raven as her eyes started to sparkle with delight after seeing Kat as a pony. She began to slowly walk towards her with a little bit of drool coming from her mouth. “Pony…….Must cuddle...with pony.”

“Caster no.” Said Saber. “Remember what happen the last time you try to cuddle with a pony back home.”

“Oh yeah he kicked me in the head that I had somewhat brain damage after that…..Oh.”

“And you’re already have memory lost, we don’t want anything else added to the list.”

“Fine…..but I will have my cuddle moment with her.” Caster said as she teleported above Raven’s head.

“What is she doing?” Raven asked. Kat was too busy trying to find the badge that would turn her back to normal to bother noticing what the others were up to.

“Yeah Caster not right in the head after certain head injuries as a kid, so she does random things that even we don’t know.”

“Yeah like yesterday she turn the heads on all the statues around.” Said Gilgamesh.”She kept on saying they were looking at her funny.”

“So we just let her do stuff like that.” Said Saber. “But before we lose track, the Holy Grail said you two are gonna be teaching us.”

The green flash went off again and Kat was standing on two legs once more. “Not cool, girl,” she pointed at Raven who smirked. “Anyway, I suppose we could be of assistance in teaching… depending on what it is we are to be teaching that is. I’m not all that good with academia, let me warn you there.”

Caster points at the chalkboard behind her. “It’s not math, it’s fighting class 101. He wants you to train us to get a feel for our new powers, seeing how we knocked out almost half of the royal guards in Canterlot.”

“Oh, combat training I can do,” she smiled. “What kind of training would you like? I can offer many different forms of combat, both military and free-style.”

“It’s more like he wants us to spare with you to see how we do, that and along with testing out our skills against someone like you two.” Said Gilgamesh. “Not like we need it or anything, I can handle myself in a fight.”

“Oh really?” Kat asked, sounding intrigued. “Then let’s test that, shall we?”
“Heh with pleasure kid, but don’t blame me if you get hurt.” Gilgamesh vanished into golden dust, as she appeared outside in an open field. “Let’s see how good you are.”

Kat followed, getting into a little battle stance, barely even in a crouch. “I’ll give you the first move… and don’t call me kid. Chances are favorable that I’m older than you.”

“Really now? Then I guess I don’t have to go easy on you then.” Gilgamesh snapped her fingers as a red gate open up behind herself. “Gate of Babylon!” She yelled as weapons upon weapons appeared halfway out of the gate. “Fool you face the mightiest swordsmen of all of Equestria! You face me Gilgamesh! Long have I sought out an opponent worthy to face, scoured the furthest marches, East and West! And now my search brings me here to you! Prepare to lose!” Gilgamesh fired off two golden axes at Kat.

Kat smiled, simply lifting up one finger. With a quick twitch, the axes curved off in opposite directions, embedding into the ground. “Come on,” she egged on. “I thought you were going to show me your best. Tell ya what. I won’t even move from this spot. Just give me everything you got.”

“FINE!!!” Yelled Gilgamesh as she fried a barrage of lances at Kat. “Try this then if you can dodge it that is!?”

The lances just kept coming as Kat stood there. Closer and closer and closer until… they stopped. Just immediately stopped in midair. Kat snapped her fingers and the entire barrage just collapsed to the ground. To make it even more infuriating, she pulled out a carrot and began munching on it. “Nnnext.”

“......Enkidu!” Chains appeared from out of the gate and wrapped themselves around Kat. “Chains of the heavenly, these chains are able to hold down any being with any divinity, rendering them powerless. Let’s see you try to escape from that.” With that Gilgamesh snapped her fingers, firing another barrage of lancers.

“Question Raven, does you sister classify as a god class or something?” Asked Saber.

“Nope, not that I know of,” Raven replies. “We’re just two humans with super powers… but Gilgamesh doesn’t need to know that.”

“It’s a good thing she doesn’t know how to use her noble phantasm at the moment.”

“Noble what?”

“Noble phantasm is our special move we have, kinda like a trump card we servants have. Gilgamesh noble phantasm is called Enma Elish it’s an instant kill move that can’t be blocked unless you have my second noble phantasm Avalon.” She said pulling out her sword & sheath. “But that move of her’s is pretty useful when it come to care of armies of monsters, seeing how it reveals the truth.”

“Whatever that means,” Raven sighed. “Anyways… I bet fifty bits Kat wins without Gilgamesh ever landing a single hit.”

“Oh there’s no bet your sister will win against Gilgamesh, seeing how those chains are useless against her.”

“HA! Let’s see you survive that mongrel!” Yelled Gilgamesh thinking she won the fight.

“Oh yes, most impressive, mmhm… so… is this all ya got?” Kat doesn’t look very impressed.

“What the hell!? Why aren’t you down and bleeding dammit!?”

“Well, let’s see, you are using projectiles on an opponent who controls gravity with thought alone… see the error in your strategy now?”

Gilgamesh growls in anger as she pulled out her sword EA from the gate. “Then let’s see how good you are against my blade.” She said as her blade started to spin around, as prana energy started to form around it.

“I wonder if your sister with attack her before Gilgamesh uses her broken phantasm?” Asked Saber.

“THAT THIS ENMA ELI-!” Before Gilgamesh can even blink, Kat is right in front of her, smiling.

“Sorry, but this is for training purposes.” She never even saw Kat’s fist as it slammed into her face. Gilgamesh was sent flying by the attack, only for another to strike her in the back and be launched into the air. Kat reappeared above her and slammed her knee into Gilgy’s back before front-flipping and blasting the Queen of Heroes back to the earth below, shattering the ground on contact. Kat floated down to the edge of the crater, an apologetic smile on her face. “Like I said, sorry.”

“D...Dammit.” She said as her body started to disappear.”I can’t believe I lost and died at your hands, tch grail’s gonna be pissed when he summons me again.”

“Cheer up Gilgy, there’s always next time.” Caster said patting her on the head before she disappeared.

“Whatever dumbass, I may have lost but Saber will beat one of you at least.” Upon saying that Gilgamesh turns to golden dust, leaving behind her token which was an axe made out of pure gold.
“Congrats you won the fight.” Said Saber handing over Gilgamesh’s token to Kat.

She took it, but was quite surprised as to what happened. “Um… wow, I thought she was stronger than that. That shouldn’t have killed her.”

“Don’t worry about her, were servants. Souls that are based off of the legendary heroes on earth when they die, and as for her she’s still trying to get used to the whole maintaining a body thing.” Saber pulled her sword out which was invisible. “But unlike her, I’m more well in tune with my new body then she does.”

“Unfortunately, I’m not going to be your opponent.” Kat nodded towards Raven. “She is. Raven has been using swords much longer than I have, so it would be a better match up.”

“Fair enough, shall we begin Raven?”

Raven and Kat switched with a quick teleport and Raven drew her long sword. “I’ve been waiting to test my metal against another swordsman for a long time. Ponies just don’t stack up to sword fight appropriately.”

“I know what you mean, the ponies weapons here break to easy when they clash with my sword. Then again if they knew my blades true identity, then they might bow down to me because of it.” Saber readies her sword as she took a battle stance.

“Even if that sword was Excalibur, I don’t bow down before anyone. Not even Celestia can make me bow,” Raven declared.

“How did you know about my sword Excalibur? The only ones that know about that are servants and The Holy Grail.”

“Wait, seriously? ...that’s Excalibur? ...I give up on understanding this shit. Let’s just fight already.”

“Agreed.” Saber said as she revealed her sword true identity. “My name is Artoria Pendragon, but I prefer you call me Saber. Prepare to lose against the King of knights Master of Gravity!” She said as she summon prana into her feet, and charged at Raven like a bullet being shot.

Raven planted her feet hard into the ground and braced for the attack, her sword in a defensive position.

Saber’s blade made contact with Raven’s sword, as she was slightly moved back a bit from her position. “Impressive, tell me. What is your sword made out of?” Saber asked.

“It’s enchanted vibranium… one of the last relics of the dragons. Able to take and dish out as much force as I need it to.”

“Just like Excalibur but different.” Saber summoned prana into her gauntlets, as she sent Raven back a few feet away from her. She then cut at the air causing a burst of air to be launched at Raven.

Raven cursed, bringing her blade parallel to her body to block. When the burst hit, the lieutenant held firm, mostly unaffected. “Don’t think something like that is going to work on me!” She slammed her blade into the ground, a red energy began jettisoning into the ground, breaking it apart as it headed for Saber.

“Was hoping it would, but then again I’m dealing with a displaced!” Saber sword started to glow as she cut through the oncoming attack. “You’re gonna have to do better than that if you think that attack could hurt a saber class like me.”

“Oh this is just like watching one of those chinese swordsmen movie, only it’s with a knight and a fencer.” Said Caster munching on a bucket of popcorn.

“It will be interesting,” Kat admitted, taking a handful of popcorn. “I have yet to see Raven give it her all, so this should be a good training session. It’s about time she finally got into the field and away from that desk.”

Raven growled, getting a little frustrated with the constant back and forth. “I’ve had enough of this!” She charged forward, her sword prepared to strike.

Saber saw her charging at her as she moved to the left, parrying Raven’s blade up and countered with a punch to the face. “Got ya.”

The other girl stumbled back, holding her nose. “You bitch!” Raven growled. Her body coated in her black and blue energy. “Now I’m going to fuck you up!”

“God it’s Gilgamesh all over again, only she’s more pissed and can actually hit me.” Saber took a defensive stance getting ready for Ravens attack. “I’m hoping I don’t have to use both of my Phantasms on her, don’t want to get lectured on by Shining Armor…..again.”

Raven charged Saber, swinging her sword forcefully and pushing her opponent back. Strike after strike landed on Saber’s sword, each one twice as powerful as the last. Raven had turned relentless, almost as if she was purposefully trying to kill Saber.

“This is beginning to get out of hand,” Kat commented, watching the duel passively. “Raven’s anger is starting to get the better of her.”

“I wouldn’t worry about, after all even if your sister does kill Saber she’ll come back in a few minutes or so.” Caster said as she summoned a bottle of soda from out of her hat. “And besides just watch, you haven’t seen all of Sabers tricks.”

Saber summoned prana into her gauntlets increasing her strength to push Raven away from her with her sword. “I give you credit you’re quite skilled, but your anger with what’s making you a bit sloppy and careless.”

“Shut up!” Raven screamed, slamming her blade down on Saber’s with one hundred times gravity added on.

“Tch to stubborn to take my advice then? Fine then let me show just how that will lead you to your defeat then.” A surge of prana energy erupted from underneath Saber, causing Raven to be pushed back a few feet away from her.

“Then allow me to show you my noble phantasm!”

“Your little light show doesn’t frighten me,” Raven shot back. She got into a fighting stance, her sword bared and at the ready. “Bring it on, fucker.”

The burst of prana energy stopped after a few second. Saber closed her eyes as she begun to start chanting. “My sword is a dream that all warriors scattered in battle, past, present and future. Hold and mournfully exalt as their final moment approach.” Sparks of light start to appear from underneath the earth slowly being drawn toward Saber’s sword.

“So she’s really gonna use it huh?” Said Caster.

“Use what?” Kat asked.

“Tell me have you ever heard of King Arthur and The knights of the round table?”

“Who hasn’t?” she joked.

“Then you should know about Excalibur right?”

“The sword of the lake, yes. Not the one in the stone, I know most people mix those up.”

“Well good then I don’t have to explain much, but unlike the stories you heard. Saber is holding the real Excalibur.”

“So it has some mystical, magical powers?”

“Pretty much yeah, but the sword has a second title called The Sword of Promise Victory. Meaning who ever wield the sword and defeat any opponent he or she faces with it.” Caster finished her drink as she continue to speak. “But only Saber can wield it and unlock both of its powers.”

“Any opponent, huh?” Kat asked, musing over the thought. “Hmm, I certainly hope Raven can put that to the test.”

“We’ll see if she can stand up against one of the 5 holy weapons.”

“I who carries their will as my pride, bidding them to remain steadfast in their loyalty. Now, the undefeated king sings aloud the name of the miracle I hold in my hands.” Saber’s sword glowed bright yellow, as the blade grew brighter and brighter by the second.

“Are you going to fight or chant?” Raven prodded, getting angrier. “I’m getting sick of waiting around. Do something before I just kill you!”

“Heh figures someone like you would not show respect to the sword heroes wish to claim, how childish and immature of you.”

“I’m pretty sure I’m older than you are, so shut up!” Raven snarled.

“True but this sword has been around for 5,000 years, so show some respect to history’s forgotten holy weapon child!”

“Oh I’m soo recording this.” Caster said pulling out her cellphone.

“Fuck your history in the ass!” Raven shouted back. “Do something already! I’ve got shit to do today!”

“.....You know what I’ll just wait, I mean I’m sure I still need to charge my blade up just a little more.” Saber said in a teasing tone.

Raven started shaking in anger. “You… mother fucking… annoying… pain in the ass… BITCH!” She shot forward with enough force to instantly break the sound barrier, intending to cleave right through the object of her hatred.

“THE SWORD OF PROMISE VICTORY!!! EXCALIBUR!!!!” Saber swung her sword down as the prana energy being stored inside of it was launched at Raven.

She didn’t even flinch as the power shot towards her. She charged her own sword with her own energy, encasing it in her aura as well and sliced right at the energy.

“Right as I predicted.” Saber thought as she prepare for Raven coming at her. “Now for stage two of my counterattack.”

“I’m going to cut you!!” Raven screamed, too enraged to do anything else but attack.

“And like that you let your rage get the better of you.” Saber brought up her sheath as Raven’s blade made contact with it. “The Everlasting Utopia! Avalon!”

“And there’s Saber’s counterattack.” Said Caster. “See I told you that Saber had a few tricks up her sleeve or two. And now the finish blow is coming up.”

As Raven’s blade was parried away, Saber sword started to glow bright yellow again as she brought it up above her head. “Checkmate sister “EXCALIBUR!!!” Saber brought her sword down onto Raven chest… only to stop midway.

Instantly, a massive shockwave blasted Raven away and leaving Saber stunned. When the dust cleared, Kat was standing there, holding Excalibur with her hand… which had turned a deep blood red.

“Sorry about that,” Kat said. “But I can’t exactly let you do too much damage here. I have to protect my sister after all.”

“RIght…hehehe…Sorry guess I got caught up in the heat of the moment didn’t I?” Saber said as her face blushed red a little.

“It’s alright, not too much damage. Broke my arm there,” she nodded at her red limb. “But Cancer is taking care of it.”

“Oh shit! I’m so sorry I didn’t think excalibur had that much power to do that!?”

“You’re just fine Saber. You have great power, that’s for certain.” Kat let go of the sword, flexing it a little. “If I didn’t have my symbiote, probably would have done more than just break my arm.”

“Wow, I didn’t think I was that strong. Guess taking kendo classes paid off for once.”

“Ha! See I told you Saber was stronger than your sister, Kat.” Caster said as she teleported next to Raven, giving her a cupcake. “And here’s your reward, the cupcake of epicness.”

“Get away from me before I shove this blade through your ass,” Raven snarled.

“God what did you have this morning, wheat constituted bitch this morning?” Caster asked.

“Raven’s always been a sore loser. Just leave her be for now,” Kat explained. “We’re still ‘on the job’ so Military Raven is the one in charge. You should have called when we were ‘off the clock’. She’d be much more pleasurable to be around.”

“Don’t blame us, blame the holy grail for doing that.” Caster said as she teleported next to Kat. “Anyway I believe it’s my turn for a sparring match right?”

“I suppose it is,” Kat agreed. “Whenever you are ready, we shall begin your lessons.”

Caster teleported to where Saber and Raven had fought. “I’m always ready for a fight.”

“Fair warning be prepare for a lot of puns.” Warned Saber. “.....a lot of puns.”

“Trust me… there are worse quirks.” Kat shook her head, getting into a battle stance, her symbiote arm in front of her. “Let’s begin. Student first.”

“With pleasure.” Caster pulled out a talisman from her sleeve, and tossed it at Kat. “Frigid Heaven!!!” She yelled as the talisman turn blue.

Kat smirked and stood straight from her battle stance. She held out her hand flat towards Caster and the talisman stopped in front of her. “If that’s your battle style, Caster, then you are in for a cold reception.” She flicked her fingers and the talisman shot back at its owner at double the speed.

“Hey I do the puns around here.” Caster said as she used her mirror to block her own talisman. “And don’t think using my own talisman on me would work.” Caster pulled out another talisman, and launched at her. “Cause sister you’re just only seeing some of my moves, “Frigid Heaven!!” Caster sent her talisman underneath Kat, as a column of ice encased her in ice. “Hope I’m not giving you the cold shoulder.”

Only a moment later, the ice shattered, energy pouring off Kat. “Neat trick. Want to see one of mine?” She crouched low, putting her hands to her side. “Ka… me… ha… me…”

“Wait, since when could Kat do that?!” Raven nearly screamed from the sidelines in shock.

“I’m calling hax on that one.” Saber said. “Not to mention I think Caster is getting a little mad at your sister.”

“Oh you think that’s gonna hurt me?” Caster said as she summoned her mirror in front of herself. “Mantra: Aphotic Cave!!!”

Kat smirked. “Always wanted to try this variant.” She disappeared from sight and reappeared right behind Caster, startling her. But before she could put up a defense. “HA!!” Kat fired her powerful blast point-blank.

Caster appeared a few steps next to Kat. “You little devil.” To what Saber could see, Caster was somewhat covered in bruises and smoke. “If it wasn’t for the fact I substituted myself at the last second with Shining Armors journal, I would of been turn to dust.”

“Oh don’t be a baby,” Kat told her. “That was a weak powered blast. If I wanted to disintegrate you, I would have done so.”

“True but the caster class is not that strong when it come to physical attacks, but magic attacks we are masters at.” Caster started to dust herself off. “Plus do you know how hard it is to groom one of my nine tails? Especially when sometimes they can take on a will of their own.” Caster pulled out two more talismans and tossed them at Kat. “Now I’m all fired up “Fiery Heaven!!!”

Kat jumped away, surrounding herself in a vacuum. As soon as the fire hit, it dissipated from the lack of oxygen. Since her voice wouldn’t carry, Kat smiled and waved at Caster.

“Well isn’t this a bit of a shock.” Casters hand started to spark with lightning. “Bet you don’t know where this move is from! “Thunder Break!!!” Caster fired a electric charged beam at Kat.

The Gravity queen dropped her bubble and slammed her foot on the ground, blasting up a chunk of rock that took the bolt of lighting, shattering it. Kat reached out with her hands, grabbing a hold of the sharpnels shards with her power and fired them like storm at Caster.

“Mantra: Aphotic Cave!!!” Caster summoned her mirror blocking most of the barrage of shattered earth hitting her.

“Clever,” Kat commented. “Now let’s see how you deal with something a little more challenging.” She lifted her arms into the air and a large portal appeared. Out of it, a massive monster swam through the air, shouting its existence into the air. “Sic ‘em!” she pointed at Caster, the monster charging at its new opponent.

“Tch was hoping I didn’t have to use this.” Caster summoned her mirror above her head. “Mantra: Merciful Sky!!” A surge a prana energy was surging through one of Caster talisman as she threw it at the monster. “Merciful sky increases my magic by ten fold. So if you think my magic was easy to block or flick away, then you my friend got another thing coming. “Chaos Heaven!!!” As the talisman made contact with the monster, a huge tornado appeared surrounding the beast trapping it inside the vortex of wind.

“Lesson one,” Kat said, now behind Caster, shocking her. She turned only to get hit in the face. “Always keep your eyes on your opponent.”

“Ow! You little!” Caster summoned her mirror to her side, and launched it at Kat, who simply threw it aside with her power. “What the?”

Kat grabbed Caster by the collar and lifted her up. Her red arm suddenly shifted, transforming into a large blade that encompassed her entire limb and pointed it at Caster’s throat. “Do you yield?”

“Don’t underestimate me especially when you are facing against Tamamo-no-Mae.” She said as her mirror started to glow, causing the area around them to change. “Lets see how well you fight in area that even you never been before.” Caster’s body started to disappear out of Kat’s grasp.

Kat dropped her arms and watched the arena change. “Then show me what you got.”

“Oh with pleasure.” Said Caster as her shadow over casting Kat.

“Welcome to my world kid. And you’re gonna be mine to play with.”

Kat smirked. “Now, if I was in the mood, I would welcome it, but…” She dropped into a fighting stance, her blade arm at the ready, “I’m more in a fighting mood at the moment.” She winked. “Check back with me afterwards and we’ll talk.”

“Hehehe, confident are we? Well then try this then.” Caster raised arm to reach out and grab Kat. “Let’s see how well you put out against a goddess like me?”

“A goddess?” Kat stopped the arm before it reached her with her power. “I should warn you, gods don’t take to kindly to me.” Caster’s arms began to twist forcefully. “Something about being beyond their control.”

Just as Caster’s arm was being twisted, she heard a crackling sound coming from behind her. “Oh crap….um I mean pay no attention to the giant crack behind the goddess, for it’s only an illusion….hehehehe…..you’re not buying it, are you?”

“Not one bit,” Kat smirked. “You’re just one big illusion, aren’t you?”

“N-No I’m not, I-I’m Tamamo-na-Mae goddess of the shrine of Amaterasu.”

“Amaterasu? Like the Naruto styled illusion technique?” Kat’s smile widened even more as she spoke.

“No but I have that move on a talisman somewhere, but it means I’m the goddess of the sun. Kinda like Celestia, but more awesome and more badass. Then again this is an illusion of my real form so…..I’m screwed am I?”

“You have no idea,” Kat said. Her hand lit with red energy. “Buh bye!” She fired a massive blast of power at the massive illusion.

“Oh this is soo gonna hurt.” The blast made contact with the real Caster, as it sent her flying towards Luna’s room making a loud crashing sound that Raven & Saber heard. The illusion around Kat shattered making her reappear in the arena that she was fighting Caster in.

“Winner Kat Shifter, loser Caster.” Said Saber.

Kat floated down to the ground, waiting for Caster to make her way back.

Caster teleport back to the arena, but she wasn’t alone. Next to her was Princess Luna who had an annoyed look on her face. “Care to explain why I had a face full of fox, when I opened my window?”

“Combat lessons,” Kat told her. “It was supposed to be a lesson in knowing when to concede to fight another day.” She eyed Caster disappointedly. “I hate to say that she failed the lesson. While her persistence is admirable, one must also know when they are outmatched and retreat to fight another day. To know when you are beaten.”

“Good luck trying to teach her that, when we were kids she would always never know when to accept defeat. Then again she did won a fight with a pack of wild dogs and won, but in this case it’s pretty much different.” Saber said patting Caster on the head.

“Oh ok, if you all will excuse me I’m off to finish playing my games before I have to work the night shift.” Luna said as she teleported off.

“Gamer Luna?” Kat asked.

“That and she pretty much blast any royal ponies that annoy her to moon for a day.” Saber said. “We also have her sister who can be childish at time, but I thinks it pretty much due to the fact nothing interesting happens in Canterlot. And the fact that she’s 1,000 years old and doesn’t really care that much about what we do, just as long as we don’t kill anypony.”

“Sounds like good princesses,” Kat nodded. “Now, do you understand your lesson?” she asked Caster.

“*Sigh* Yes.” Caster answered in disappointment.

“Good,” she nodded. “As long as you learned something, then it’s a good day.”

“Yes even though I got killed during my little lesson.” Said Gilgamesh as she reappeared behind Saber. “Oh by the way thanks for leaving me to get trolled upon by that dick of a holy grail.”

“Sorry about the killing you thing, Gilgamesh,” Kat said, rubbing the back of her head. “I thought you were stronger than that.”

“Still trying to get used to the whole new body thing. We been here for what 5 or 10 days?”

“A week actually.” Caster answered.

“Wow,” Kat said with a bit of surprise. “You’ve got a long way to go. Raven and I have been around for over thirteen hundred years doing this kind of stuff… though she wasn’t encased in stone for a thousand of them, like I was.”

“No, I’ve been busy fighting a twelve hundred year old war,” Raven told them.

“Huh? That would explain why I could see both your age numbers above your heads.” Said Caster. “Man you two are old.”

"And still kicked your culs," Kat smirked, sticking out her tongue.

“Noted, so far the only one that seemed to pass the test was Saber huh?”

“Figures seeing how she’s more skilled than we are.” Said Gilgamesh.

“Actually,” Kat said slowly. “Saber failed her test as well.”

“Knew it,” Saber said. “how so?”

“Each of you were given different tests. Gilgamesh’s was a test of arrogance. To not let your own pride cloud you to your opponent’s power.”

“Dammit.” Said Gigamesh.

“Caster’s was one in humility. To understand when you are beaten and live to fight another day.”

“Oh…..” Said Caster as she poked the ground in depression.

“And Saber’s was a test of power. To know how much or how little power you need to defeat your opponent. Overkill is not always the best policy.”

“Hehehe my bad.” Saber said rubbing the back of her head in embarrassment.

“You all need to learn these lessons to become better fighters.” She looked to Gilgamesh. “Arrogance will always destroy you. While it is good to keep your own spirits high, when you let it cloud your judgements, your opponent will strike you down.” She moved to Saber. “There are times when you need to go all out, but most of the time, you will need to gauge how much power you should use in your fight. Wasting all your power to defeat a lesser opponent will leave you open to another, more powerful enemy.” She ended on Caster. “While never giving up is something to admire, knowing when continuing to fight is pointless is a valuable tactic. When defending others, living is more important than winning.” Kat stepped back and looked at all three. “Do you three believe you can learn these lessons and apply them?”

“Yes.” The three servants said in union with a bit of a disappointed/depressing tone in their voices.

“Good.” Kat looked them over for a moment before smiling. “Then you have passed.”

“....Say wha?” Caster questioned.

“Learning from your mistakes is the greatest way to become stronger and wiser. It strengthens you both in body and in mind and will better prepare you for your future. No one is perfect and learning when you have done wrong and making sure it never happens again, is the greatest thing we as living beings can accomplish. Live and learn, girls. Live. and. Learn.”

“Yay! For once I actually passed a test in my 18 year old life.” Caster said in excitement. Kat smiled as the younger girls celebrated their accomplishment.

“WHAT THE HELL’S GOING ON HERE!?” Yelled a familiar voice. Caster turned her head to see Shining Armor standing behind them with a mad/angry look on his face.

“Oh….hey Shining Armor…..how’s it going?”

“Mind telling me why this place looks like a bomb hit this placed?”

“It’s called training, Captain,” Kat said, an even-tempered glance at the pony. “I’m sure you’ve had your own troubles when training new recruits.”

“Yeah but they didn’t blow up half of Canterlot training arena, along with the garden as well.” He said as he survey the area. “I mean mother of Celestia, this is just as bad as when you sent half of the Canterlot royal guards to the hospital. And when Gilgamesh shoved that kendo stick up Iron Hides flank.”

“Your trainees didn’t have world changing superpowers,” Kat said back. “Do not question my methods, Captain.”

“Oh yeah your methods are so useful seeing how half the place got wrecked!” Shining Armor yelled. Unknown to him Celestia teleported next to Raven and the others servants munching on a candy bar while wearing a black long sleeve shirt & peach color pants.

“So what’s going on here?” Celestia asked.

“This,” Kat said, not even looking at the princess as she backhanded Shining across the face. “Do not speak to your superiors like that again, captain! Do you understand me, soldier?!”

“I am captain of the royal guards, I don’t have to listen to somepony like you who clearly doesn't belong here just like just like those idiots over there.” He said pointing at the servants. “And that’s Captain Shining Armor to you lady!”

“Wait for it.” Celestia said wait for something to happen to Shining Armor.

Kat’s eye twitched before yanking hard on Shining’s horn and slamming him to the ground. She pressed her foot on his head, keeping him there. “I said, ‘you will not speak to your superiors like that’. I have been the general of Celestia’s army for longer than you have been alive. So if you wish to remain alive, you will learn some respect. Am I understood, captain?!” she practically spat at him.

“.........Yes.” Shining said mumbled under his breath.

“I can’t hear you!” Kat shouted at him.

“Yes, sir.”

“I’m a woman!”

“Ugh fine, yes ma’am!”

“Good.” She picked him up by the collar of his armor and dropped him on his feet. “I don’t want to have this conversation again. Now, GET TO WORK, SOLDIER!!”

“Yes ma’am,” Shining armor begun to walk towards the exit of the arena, as he did Caster heard Shining Armor mumbling as he walked by. “Displaced bitches, we don’t need their kind to protect us.”

“I heard that, soldier!” Kat shouted, not even looking in his direction.

“Well….that was something.” Said Celestia turning her attention towards Kat. “Sorry about that, he’s been have some trouble after what happen a few weeks ago.”

Kat pointed at where Shining left. “See that, Gilgamesh? That’s what you become when pride and arrogance gets the better of you.”

“Noted.” She said as she used Caster as a shield.

Raven smiled for the first time since she arrived. “Kat is a tough as nails general, but she always makes sure we get stronger with each lesson.”

“I can see that, anyway again sorry about him.” Celestia said giving Kat a bow in apologizing to her.

“Just keep him in line, Tia,” Kat told her. “An attitude like that is destabilizing.”

“He wasn’t always like this, after Cadence divorced him he’s been like this for a while.”

Kat’s eyebrow rose slightly before looking at the Servants. “Girls, before I leave you, I assign you a special mission. You are to find Captain Amor… a lover. Either get him back together with Cadance or find him someone new. That is your mission, and you have no choice in accepting it.”

“Oh come on we tried that two days ago, and we ended getting blasted by Cadence’s beams of death.” Said Gilgamesh.

“We tried to set him up on blind dates with the ponies in Canterlot, but they didn’t like him some much seeing how most of the girls in this town prefer…..well somepony that isn’t always a, pardon my french here but that isn’t a bitch to the sun & moon princess.” Said Saber.

“An I doubt he’ll be willing go on said date if he knew it was us.” Caster said. “Then again we tried to ask him on date, but all we got was a face full of lasers.”

“You have your mission,” Kat ignored their complaints.

“Ugh, yes ma’am.” The servants said in union.

“I have a feeling this won’t turn out so well.” Said Celestia.

Raven gave Celestia a sorry expression. “Maybe, but at least you’ll get a good show.”

“Eh good point.” Celestia took another bit from her candy bar. “I’ll inform my sister about this, and have Chrysalis & Umbra look over the kingdom while we help our servants with this little mission your sister gave them.”

Kat nodded. “Alrighty then. With that, ladies, I believe Raven and I should be off. We have a war to get back to.”

“Feel free to summon my servants if you need help in this war of yours.” Celestia levitated the servants tokens towards Kat. “Sabers the keychain with a copy of her sword, Gilgamesh is the axe made of pure gold, and Caster’s is the talisman.”

Kat pulled out her book and dropped them in. “I’ll keep that in mind. Anything else you need before we go?”

“Not really you pretty much did the lesson plan the grail had you to teach us.” Said Saber. “Oh one question, have you heard of a guy name Twice Piecemen? The grail wants us to ask each displaced human that question, don’t know why though.”

“Doesn’t sound familiar,” Kat shook her head. Raven shrugged, moving over to her sister.

“Well he told us to warn other displaced of him, and warn you to keep an eye out for him and to run if you see him.” Caster said showing a picture of the guy.

“We don’t know who he is ourselves, but the grail pretty much on nerves about this guy.”

“Alright, we’ll keep an eye out for him, I guess.” Kat memorized the picture and opened a portal open behind them. “I wish you all the best of luck in your journeys ahead. May you all fall in whatever direction you choose.” She and Raven jumped through before it closed.

“Welp looks like our class is done for the time being.” Said Gilgamesh as she looked at Saber & Caster. “Now we have to do that stupid mission she assigned to us.”

“I’m sure it can’t be that bad…..right?” Saber asked looking at Celestia who was silent for a few seconds. “Right?”

“Oh…..well look at the time I gotta be going now…..bye!” With a flash of her horn Celestia teleported herself out of that awkward situation.

“......Saber.”

“Yes Caster?”

“We’re fucked.”
