Chapter 6
-_Unknown Location_-
Upon awakening, I noticed two things: First, I was in a normal, human body, and was no longer a demon. Second, I was in what looked like a cobblestone room, with a crescent moon embedded in an oak door near the bed. This obviously wasn’t Fluttershy’s cottage, so ever the logical being, I began to freak out. For some odd reason, none of my power would activate, it was as though I was abandoned by it. I ran to the door, and was about to try to slam it down. Then my brain began to work properly again, and I tried to use the nob… it was unlocked.
Outside the room was a stone hallway, small stained glass windows placed roughly 2 meters from each other. As I walked through the hall, I began to feel a sense of both calm and worry come over me simultaneously. I felt as though I had been here before, which was impossible as far as I know as I have no memories of being in a building quite like this one.
At the eventual end of the hall there was another Oak Door, this one had a mark that looked along the lines of earth. The door creaked open, and stood face to face with… myself.
‘Well’ I thought ‘That settles that, I’m insane, and I’m seeing things, now to close the door and walk away,’ and went to do just that, but before I could do that, he (I?) stuck his (My? Meh whatever I’ll just say ‘he’) foot in the door.
He said “Welcome, it’s been so long sense you were here last… partly because you have never been here before, but that’s beside the point. Anyway, welcome to your subconscious, I am your conscience, and I am honestly shocked you’re here, no living person should be capable of visiting such a dark recess of their mind”
“Well my powers ARE based around darkness,” I retorted, my conscience seemed shocked at this.
“Darkness? You really think your power is darkness? Shows how much you know. I’m getting off track here, anyway, I need to tell you that--” Suddenly, a large light appeared in the center of the room, it expanded, and I woke up.
-_Fluttershy’s cottage_-
I awoke again with a slight ‘Thud’ from rolling off the couch, and stood up; I was once again in the body of a demon, and that dream replayed in my mind. Whilst pondering its meaning, I noticed three things: first, I was once more in Fluttershy’s cottage. Second, I saw a gray Fluttershy standing over me. Third, she was holding a green onion quite menacingly (Japanese remedy for colds: shove a green onion up you’re a**, no seriously, that was an actual thing there, it’s scary). The third one nearly scared the brown solid waste product of the bowels out of me, so I jumped up with a slight girly scream, ran to the window, and defenestrated myself (defenestration: the act/art of throwing something [often someone] out a window, also the sport of kings in the sense only kings can get away with it), followed by a good run to the forest.
‘Ok,’ I thought to myself, ‘NEVER go there when she is discorded… wait… Discorded Fluttershy would require discord to be free again… well damn’ by this point I was sprinting, as my wings were bound by an odd material: it was a metal, very thick and tough, but light. From this I concluded it was either titanium or mithril, and as titanium should be impossible to make here, that left only one real option. ‘Think man think, ok, discord’s magic swap’s the ponies personality polarity, so kindness becomes cruelness and so on, so maybe I could remove that darkness from them?’ With this new idea in mind, I turned on heel, and ran back towards Fluttershy’s cottage.
Upon reaching the bushes at the edge of the clearing where Fluttershy’s cottage was built, I began to focus on what I could do to approach the cruel, sadistic mare. The main idea that came to mind was an ability out of Jak 3: dark mode invisibility, I began to focus on making light pass through my body and pants, after a few seconds, I opened my eyes, and found myself mostly invisible, I say mostly because I had an outline for some reason, I then tried to erase that as well, once I had done that, I snuck in.
Fluttershy had cornered a poor, sick deer in the corner, holding her green onion high, I quickly jumped into action, running forward, I placed my hand on her head, and focused on moving the darkness which was plaguing her into the forest. This seemed to work, as her coat and mane colors began to return. She dropped her onion, and feinted. You see, darkness isn’t like light, if you remove it too fast from someone, it may cause some harm, this was when I realized this for the first time. It had also taken quite a bit out of me too, I felt a bit light-headed, and began to assure the deer that it was ok, and that no green onion would be harming it now. The deer seemed to take my word for it, and left the building, leaving me and a sleeping Fluttershy. I picked her up in my arm and carried her to her bed, where I laid her down, and put a blanket over her. I then proceeded to walk downstairs and sat down; pondering the dream that still haunted my thoughts.
About two uneventful hours later, a sleepy Fluttershy walked downstairs, and let out a small “eep!” at the sight of me, which caused me to face palm, an action I immediately regretted as my fingernails cut my face, and I poked myself on my horns. I grit my teeth in pain, and muttered “ow,” as I felt a warm, wet feeling going down my face (Its blood, you sickos). At the sight of this, Fluttershy’s eyes went wide, and began to stare at me.
“Um…” I said, “Could I please have something to wipe up my… blood?” I noticed my blood didn’t exactly feel like normal blood, and was a bit grittish, I wiped what I could from my eyes as Fluttershy left the room, and saw something a little odd: my blood was pitch black. ‘Wow, that’s pretty odd’ I thought ‘I don’t think my blood is supposed to be that color…’
“Oh, um… right,” Said Fluttershy, who then quickly left the room, only to return a few seconds later with a white towel.
“Thanks Fluttershy.” Those words hung in the air for a few seconds, before the silence was broken by a loud crash outside. We ran… well, not ran, but more walked very quickly, to the front area, where there was a small meteor shower of small stars, each burning their way into the ground. My mind then began to stop right there, so I couldn’t tell you exactly what happened, but it basically goes like this: I picked up Fluttershy and ran, and I ran fast, mostly screaming “WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!” for a large portion of the run from the stars. Their light counteracted all of my darkness, so I had absolutely NO idea what to do.
I began to try to get the metal thingy off my wings as I ran, I did this by not swinging my arms as I ran, and wrapping my wings around my left side to the front, I began to try something in sort of a “make or break type” idea I had about my dream, rather than gather darkness, I began to gather the light into a highly condensed, golden blade, which I used to cut off my wing restraints, nicking one of my black spikes, which began to secrete light for a few seconds, before going black again. I spread my wings and flew faster than ever before, headed for Ponyville, with a golden field around me of the light (still holding Fluttershy, don’t forget about her.)
After about a minute or so, I noticed that light takes a lot more concentration to maintain shapes of than the darkness does. In other words, it was taking quite some energy to maintain my shield, I was approaching the town at a good pace, and no mini stars seemed to be falling at the moment, so I landed right in a dark alleyway, put Fluttershy down gently, and said “What has happened while I was gone?”
-_Ponyville_-
Fluttershy gave me a look of confusion that basically said, “Who are you?” To which I nearly face palmed again.
“It’s me, Terrance!” I said, thereby confusing Fluttershy even more, but before she could ask anything, I quickly explained what I knew, which was that my powers had changed my shape into that of a being that resides in darkness, and that I recently discovered my abilities also control light. It then somehow turned into me telling her how I came to be here, as that was when I first used my power, by the end of which I was nearly to tears.
By the end of my lecture, Fluttershy had a look of shock, sadness, and care. She pulled me into a hug with her wings, and softly murmured into my ear “It’s alright, its ok to cry, let it out,” as I sobbed into her… I think it’s a shoulder, no way to know for sure I think.
I haven’t fully decided on where to go after this mini ark, mostly because I don’t plan anything! I would love a couple good suggestions, please leave one in the comments. MaDmAN12435/Cloud Nova Falling out.
P.S. I used to create clever jokes, but then I took an arrow to the right frontal lobe of the brain.
