Chapter 3
-_Fluttershy’s cottage_-
I awoke to something poking my side, which upon opening my eyes I found to be a white rabbit, whom I recognized as “Angel”.
“Yes? What is it?” I asked the rabbit… well, I guess I’ve gone insane here… I immediately thought.
Angel then pointed at the door, outside which Twilight, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy were there, as well as Lyra it seemed. Well, that will cause me to have to answer quite a few more questions I guess. I suddenly heard a small growl, wondering what made it, I looked around, then I figured out what it was; it was my stomach. In other words, I was really hungry. I then stood up, my ankle felt rather good, it seemed like it was not going to be much of a problem, my hand however, still hurt like hell, but it wasn’t as bad, I walked into what looked like Fluttershy’s kitchen, and looked for something to eat, quickly finding a few apples, and a banana. I ate the fruit in about 4 minutes or so, and walked back into the room I was sleeping in, and looked out the window, to see Lyra walking away. Good, I thought, that’s one less thing to worry about.
I sat down, and noticed something a little… odd, shadows seemed to bend under my gaze, upon small experiments with this, I discovered I could cause the shadows of small, inanimate objects to disconnect from that which it’s from, and change to my will, whilst experimenting, I made the shadow of a small ball be reshaped to be the shadow of a small knife, like a pocket knife. The moment my gaze left it, it went back to being that of a ball though.
After a small amount of playing with the darkness, I remembered something from right before that wisp arrived in the torture chamber. I began to change the shape of the ball into that of a knife again, and tried to make it come out of the ground, a sudden sound broke my concentration on the shape, and it all went back to a simple circular shadow. I turned to see what the sound was, and saw that the door was left open, and that the animals were slowly moving towards it, I then got up, and walked up to the door. Before I could shut it however, I noticed something in the Everfree forest. I exited the cottage, shutting the door behind me gently, and began to walk toward whatever it was that I saw, and it ran further into the woods, stopped turned back to me, and made a motion almost… like it was waving to me…, I remembered the feel of what I did before, I moved the shadows away from… whatever it was, to reveal a rather surprised looking Lyra. Who let out a small “EEP!” at suddenly being exposed, but other than that seeming to have her wits about her.
As I haven’t told anyone who I am, I decided to feign ignorant as to who she was, and said “Who are you and who did you beckon me into the forest?”
“Um…” Said Lyra, still a little confused by her sudden exposure “My name is Lyra, I have studied your kind, so when I heard there was one at Fluttershy’s cottage, I immediately went there, and they flat out denied you being there, so I waited to see you for myself, when I saw you in the window, I opened the door with my magic, and then made wide movements to make myself obvious, that way I could speak with you.”
“If they hid the knowledge of my existence from an entire town, how come you know about it?” I asked, greatly intrigued by this.
“well, as we were talking, I saw you through the window,” Lyra said, blushing a little with embarrassment.
“I see, now I thin--” I started, but was cut off by a loud roar to my right. I quickly turned to find a Manticore running toward me, I immediately focused my power on trying to solidify the darkness, as I knew I couldn’t outrun the damn thing, when it was about a foot away, it stopped, I opened my eyes to see poles of darkness sprouting from the ground, I focused again on my power, and another shadow came to life, this time in the form of what I presumed to be a javelin, which I threw with all my might at the manticore, striking its right back leg, and pinning it to the ground, oddly, there was no blood, even though it went through its flesh.
“Well, I guess it’s about time I run.” I said, beginning to run, and saw that Lyra was quite a bit ahead of me, Must have run when the manticore first arrived. Not surprising, that thing sent shivers down my spine. I thought to myself.

-_area outside Fluttershy’s cottage_-
When I got out of the forest, I was immediately greeted by stares from the mane six, who were just walking up the path to the cottage. “What in the hay are you?” Said Applejack.
“Well, miss, I am a human being, by the name of Terrance Markie. Is there anything else you would like to know?” I said.
“Yeah,” Said Rainbow Dash, “Why are you running out of the Everfree Forest, last time we saw you, you were in Fluttershy’s shed!”
“Oh, that… Well, I saw something in the bushes on the edge, I went to inspect, whatever it was ran further in, I followed it, and discovered it was just that blue unicorn you were chatting with, I believe her name was ‘Lyra’ or something like that, then we were attacked by a manticore, which we both managed to escape, and now I’m here.” I said, completely leaving out any mention of my powers.
“We told her we knew nothing about you, how did she know about you being there?” Asked Twilight
“She said she saw me through a window whilst talking to you, Twilight,” Was my response, “what were you talking about anyway?”
Twilight sighed, saying “Lyra came up to the door, saying that she knew we were hiding a strange creature, and that she wanted to see it, so we told her we knew nothing about it, to keep your being here a secret. Then after about two minutes, she just randomly left, I guess now it makes sense sort of…”
Oh, “That makes sense,” I said.
“wait a second,” Rainbow suddenly but in, “You said you were attacked by a manticore, and your uninjured, how did you get away from it?”
I sighed, and said, “I was hoping to avoid talking about this, but I used a… power of mine to keep it away from me.”
This got everyone to stare at me again, “Wait, what power?”
“I may have the ability to create solid objects out of shadows, and reshape them to my will.” I said, slightly embarrassed at this.
“Wait, you can control darkness?” Twilight asked, I nodded in response, she then said “I think princess Luna might be a bit more interested in this than Celestia in this case.”
“True that,” I muttered, before saying, “So, shall we head back to the cottage?”
-_Back at the Cottage of Fluttershy_-
When we got back to Fluttershy’s cottage, I was pretty much forced to show them my powers, so I walked up to a small shadow, which bent under my gaze, I began to shape it to be a claymore, and then I bent over, and pulled the shadow blade out of the ground, the blade had a small hole in it, but that was my own choice. I then showed that It really did work as a material, I changed its form to a small knife, cut up some onions, garlic, and potatoes, put the ingredients into a frying pan, and cooked it, then I made my shadow into a fork, and ate my potatoes. By this point they were staring, and Twilight was writing a letter to Luna about my powers, asking what they were. In my opinion, she was probably asking Luna because her powers revolve around darkness as well.
I then got an interesting idea; I took two large shadows, and tried to indirectly connect them, like a portal system. After a few minutes of attempted creation of shadow paths, I made a small portal from Fluttershy’s coffee table to the area under the couch; it was a small success, but a success none the less. I then began to feel a little light headed, and collapsed into a path of darkness which appeared as I fell (like the ones Organization XIII used in kingdom hearts 2). I remember nothing else of that day.
