Chapter 3: A changed Mind (edited)

Jane screamed as ball like demons began to crawl over her body. Her father, Shiro, was consumed by flames and two large balls of blue flame surrounded his sides. Blood pouring down from the eyes and nose, trickling down his face and his clothes. His iris was broken and jagged and his ears had grown long and pointy. The monastery was destroyed, the front entrance was smashed as a truck rammed rough the front door. The bodies of the monks lay there on the ground motionless as the Gehenna Gate slowly dragged her down, her sword just a couple of feet away.

Satan/Shiro laughed.“Splendid birth cries!” He shouted as he continued to laugh. “Today is the day of your rebirth as a demon, my daughter!” He said as he neared the portal.

“Somebody!” Jane shouted. “Help me!” She reached out trying to grab anything she could but to no avail.

“Happy birthday, my beloved daughter!” He said continuing to laugh before the real Shiro spoke. “No… It's not true…” Shiro grabbed the exorcist badge and raised it, the tip sparkled from the fire before stabbing it directly into his heart. Jane looked at him, lost for words. Her mouth just hung open. “That girl… Is my daughter. And I'm taking her back!” He grunted before Satan spoke again. “C-curses… Damn you, exorcist!” His body fell limp and crashed into the watery like substance of the portal, the flames dying out.

Jane gasped in shock, barely able to breath at all. “You mean to sacrifice your own life? You astound me, wretched priest! However… It's too late! Gehenna Gate has taken hold of you… And it will never… let you go…” His last words died out as he sank into the abyss of the Gate.

“Old man!” Jane shouted as she tried to crawl her way over to him. “Hang on, old man!” She reached him and grabbed a hold of him. “Dad!” She screamed as she was pulled down with him.

“Shiro!” I shouted as I launched from the bed, sunlight stinging me as I opened my eyes. I put a hand to my chest and clutched where my heart is. As I tried to settle my increasing heart rate and my erratic breathing I looked left and right rapidly. I hung my head as my breathing slowly settled down. ‘What the hell? That wasn't one of my memories. Or is it? Gah! Why can't I remember?’ I thought to myself.

I rested the back of my head against the wall as I sighed. ‘Well at least it's over.’ I thought but a voice from down stairs spoke up. “Jane! Are you okay?!” My friend, known as Fluttershy, asked. I caught wind of the pleasant aroma of pancakes before answering back.

“Yeah, I'm fine! Just a bad dream!” I turned to the edge of the bed and let my feet dangle before placing them on the floor. I shivered as I lifted myself off the bed. My tail hung loosely touching the ground. I looked at table across the room and found my clothes, clean and fresh. I sighed again shaking my head and thinking of a way to repay her for her kindness….again.

Twitching my head left and right, I heard a satisfying crunch. I unbuttoned my top and dropped my trousers. I picked up my panties and slipped them on, then I grabbed my bra, reached behind when my special orbs were in place and clipped them in place. I pulled my trousers over and slipped them on as well. I put my arms through one of the sleeves of my shirt, then the other and buttoned them up.

I tightened my tie up and tied my shoes. Walking back over to the bed I picked up my holster and fastened it to my thigh. I slung my sword over my back once again, having the strap in-between my breasts. With the clips in my pocket I walked down the steps and into the living room. A gentle humming came from the kitchen. I poked my head through the doorway to find my friend pouring syrup on two stacks of pancakes.

“Really Shy, you must stop spoiling me.” I obviously startled her as she squeezed on the bottle and spat out a lot more syrup than it should of. “Oops, heh sorry shy.” She looked over her shoulder to look at me. Hew eyes were wide, but she sighed and shook her head.

“Silver! You scared me.” She took out a knife from the drawers and scraped off the excess syrup and dumped it onto the other stack. She lifted up the plates and walked over to me and handed over one of them. “Good morning.” I smiled and nodded my head. We walked over to the table and sat down. It wasn't long before we both tucked into our food. The pancakes were soft and fluffy while the syrup was thick and sweet and I could taste the hint of honey.

“So, if you don't mind, who is Shiro?” She asked. I paused mid-way, my fork inches away from my mouth. I looked over to her and placed my fork onto the table. Closing my eyes I began to tell her about him.

“He's” I paused for a bit. “He was my father.” She looked on at me, confused. “ He was killed, right in front of me no less.” She gasped and put a hand to her mouth. I must have looked like one of those veteran soldiers in those movies, you know the ones, the main person just staring off in the distance reminiscing about their past. I felt a hand on my shoulder and I released a breath that I didn't know I was holding.

I looked over to my right to see Shy with tears in her eyes. She leaned over and hugged me, squeezing the air out of my lungs while doing so. “It's okay, Silver. You don't have to continue.” My own tears begin to pour out. I returned the hug, being careful as I do so because one wrong move and I could kill her with my new found demon strength.

“No. No, it's okay.” She nodded and we realised each other. She walked back over and sat down on her seat. “He was possessed by one of the demon kings. Actually he was the king of demons, anyway while he was possessed the other priests of my temple tried to approach him and release him, but the demon was too strong.”

Fluttershy continued to listen to me while I basically told the story of blue…blue. What was it again? No, not a story. It's my life. “He opened a Gehenna gate, which is a portal that links this realm to the demon realm, and tried to drag me in for some reason. He managed to throw me into it and I was slowly dragged down but before it could he took back control. Then in order to save me he had..he had to kill himself. Which in turn vanquished the demon within him.”

Fluttershy was mortified at what she was hearing. Who could blame her? We decided to leave it at that and finished our food before heading out. She wanted me to meet her friends but she warned me about someone named ‘Pinkie Pie’ but I couldn’t understand why.

Choosing to ignore who ‘Pinkie’ is we began to walk to the village, funnily enough the village was called Ponyville. Ahh, dem puns. Anyway on the way some of the other ponies were walking around giving Shy and I looks. But they went as soon as they came.

The village itself reminded me of the old Victorian buildings, only more modern. Suddenly we both heard music from, god knows where. It was faint, in fact I think the only way I heard it was from my increased demon senses, but it was getting louder. It grew louder and louder until it sounded like it was coming right from behind me. Wait. I turned around only to be greeted with a bright pink, furry face. ‘Holy shit!’

"Hi!" The face spoke. "My names Pinkie Pie! Nice to meet you. Wait, I've never met you before. That means." She paused for a bit, thinking to herself. "That means you’re new in town! And you know what that means?" Having my brain turn to mush in a matter of seconds I shook my head hesitantly. "That means you get to have." Once again she paused. "A party!" And then she sped off like she was Sonic on cocaine.

I turned to Fluttershy. "Should I even guess?" I asked her but she shook her head, silently saying no. I took the hint and we continued on our merry way all the while wondering what the fuck just happened.

Walking into town I was greeted by lots of friendly faces, none that I knew but I could tell they were nice. The houses looked nice and warm and the flowers that dotted the place made life spring with bugs and insects. All in all this looks like a lovely little town. So why are my demon senses tingling? I had a weird feeling so I looked up and...well...you know in those old comedy movies where there would be a piano falling from the sky and crush a person? Well guess what. That's right, there was one right above me falling from a ridiculous height.

The piano came crashing down and I barely had enough time to jump out of the way and over Fluttershy to protect her. I heard the musical smash of notes break and shatter as the piano broke. I looked up to see a gray Pegasus in a postman uniform with a gold mane, tail, and eyes, which were looking in two different directions.
