Of all five of the ponies present in front of the monster, it was Twilight that was the most terrified. That's not to say the others weren't shocked in pure fear, but the lavender Unicorn truly got the worst of this monster. She looked at the eyeless head of the black dragon that had caused her so many problems in the past. Slowly, it circled them, their eyes following its body and its head watching them closely. It stopped as soon as it reached the opposite side from where it landed and spread its dark and ragged, yet strangely majestic wings, its 'arms' then smashing down into the ground. It just stared at Twilight for the longest time.

"W-W-What do you want...?" she nervously asked.

"Maybe it wants to be our friend?" Pinkie suggested with a smile before approaching the dark dragon "Hi, friend! I'm Pinkie Pie! What's your name?" the Gore Magala simply continued to watch the five ponies in its current position "Don't have a name? Then I'll call you... Wingie! Because of your big wings!"

"To hell with this" Butter exclaimed as he walked toward the dark dragon. However, Rage Quit and Dark Thunder stopped him immediately.

"Butter, no!" his brother shouted "You can't take that thing on! You're going to get us all killed!"

"NO!" he shouted back "I'm tired of you and Rage constantly holding me back from killing monsters! I'll kill them all! Why won't you just let me do it?! So from this point on, you two aren't the bosses of me anymore!" he held up his switch-axe over the Gore Magala's head "Now I will be the hero!" he brought his weapon down onto the dragon's face, forming a scar over its forehead.

Needless to say it wasn't happy with the yellow Pegasus, or any of the five ponies for that matter. Its under-wings became a bright purple colour and it grew horns on its head. Twilight had never seen this form of the black dragon before, and merely believed it to be its rage state. But something was different than a normal rage mode. It seemed to expel more infectious scales than in its normal state. The lavender Unicorn decided to call this state: Frenzy mode.

"You idiot!" the light blue Pegasus with the Zinogre armour on yelled at his other Pegasus companion "Everypony run! We can't hope to even scratch it in this form!"

Immediately, the five began running away from the monstrosity. In an attempt to slow it down, Pinkie loaded her bowgun and fired some rounds at the Gore Magala's head, making in wince in pain a bit. However, no major damage seemed to be inflicted onto the beast, so the attempt was ultimately fruitless. It roared again before charging at the team in pure anger.

"Look out!" Twilight called out just before Rage Quit was struck by the Gore's attack. He heard this and swung his switch-axe around, slamming right into the creature's head and toppling it, giving the team just enough time to gain some ground.

"Thanks!" he called back "There's gotta be a cave around her somewhere where we can hide..."

"How about that one over there?" the pink mare in the team suggested as she nodded her head at a small cave entrance.

"Nice thinking, Pinkie!" Dark smirked "You heard the mare; head for the cave, everypony!"

Just as the ash grey Unicorn said this, the downed Gore Magala managed to pick itself up and fire three large consecutive fireballs at the five ponies. Twilight turned around to see that these 'fireballs' were glowing dark purple and black, meaning they were infused with the Frenzy Virus. The attacks never hit, but they did explode dangerously close to the five, making clouds of dust, or rather scales, where they were set off.

"Almost there..." Rage grit his teeth together as he and the others approached the cave.

"Just a little longer..." the lavender hunter huffed.

Finally, they reached the small cavern and jumped into it as quickly as they could. Rage Quit was the last pony to enter, but before he could the dark dragon chasing them caught up to them. It let out a screech of anger as it raised its front legs and arms up in the air before smashing them back down, forcing the light blue Pegasus to tumble down into the cave. Shortly after, rocks came crashing down onto the entrance, blocking their way out.

The five could hear a faint grunt coming from the dragon outside, sounding almost like a chuckle before it slowly began walking away. The next thing they heard was the flapping of wings of it taking off and flying away. Dark sighed in relief and took a look over at his blue Pegasus partner, who had been injured from the rocks. He held his back left knee with his front hooves and sighed.

"Sorry, Dark" Rage chuckled as he removed his helmet "Looks like I'm out for awhile... AH! Christ, that hurts..."

"You'll be fine, old friend" the leader of the group smiled as he lightly patted his friend's back "Looks like just a scratch anyway."

"Heh... I thought I was the one who's supposed to make the jokes around here..." the injured Pegasus laughed before once again wincing in pain "Right, I should shut-up now..."

"Just stay still for a bit, okay?" Dark said with a smile before that smile turned into a scowl as he turned to his younger brother "As for you, as soon as we get home I'm revoking your hunters license."

"Wha- But why?!" Butter shouted as he took off his Kecha helmet.

"Because I can't trust you with being on my team, that's why!" the elder brother shouted back "Ever since you joined you have caused nothing but problems for us all. You rush ahead, you disobey orders and you never listen to the valuable information Rage Quit has to offer!"

"What, you mean all the yelling?" the yellow Pegasus rolled his eyes.

"While yes, I don't believe that Rage's... unique way of teaching is all that appropriate, he's still teaching you advice" Dark's voice calmed down a bit "I also understand that some lessons you MUST learn from your mistakes. But when you constantly repeat those mistakes, that's where I draw the line! We nearly got killed out there, Butter! We've nearly got killed on several occasions because of your rashness!"

This was the moment when the yellow hunter finally stopped to think about what he's done to the team. He hung his head and remembered all the times he was too impatient and rushed into battle, nearly costing everyone their lives because of his stupidity. Twilight saw his gears turn. She wondered how much of a difference it would be if he hadn't been hasty all the time. She wouldn't have gotten out, that's for sure.

"Butter, I'm you're brother, and by the gods I love you more than anything else in this world" the ash grey Unicorn sighed "And that's why I want to protect you. And yeah, it's because I don't trust you enough. So please, Butter; be reasonable for just one day and listen to-"

"No YOU Listen!" Butter shouted at his brother, taking him and everyone else aback "Every time this happens, all I hear out of you is yelling and shouting! At ME no less! You don't love me; I'm just around to be yelled at! So you know what? I'm leaving myself!" he began storming off down into the depths of the tunnel connecting with the room they were currently resting in.

"Butter, wait!" Dark called out to his brother, but it was already too late; he had gone deeper into the cave to face what dangers awaited him "...Butter, I'm sorry..." he spoke normally the last three words of his sentence.

"I'm sorry about him, Dark" Twilight spoke up "I can't say I know what it's like to have a younger sibling, but I can only imagine it's not the easiest thing to be an older brother. Give him some time, okay?"

"Yeah, you're right..." the ash grey stallion sighed "But I still have to make sure that he doesn't get into trouble, or worse, eaten by some hungry monster. Tetsucabra, Brachydios and even... them, lie within the confines of the Badlands."

"Them?" the lavender mare asked curiously.

"You'd rather not know" Rage spoke up, turning her attention to him "They're beasts. You want to know a monster that is pure evil and not just angry because it's protecting its young or something? Look no further. If we find one, I'll tell you."

"No, I'd rather not know..." she sighed "Well, c'mon. Butter isn't going to find himself, now is he?"

"I suppose not" Dark chuckled "Alright everypony, let's get a move on. Rage, can you walk?"

"I might if I can..." he stood up and bent his back left leg upwards "Yeah, this should be fine."

"Hold on..." Twilight took a long bandage out from her inventory and, with her magic, tied his broken leg to his back "There we go. Feeling better?"

"Much..." the light blue Pegasus smiled "Though, I could just fly."

"Not with that heavy thing on your back" the leader of the group said "Damn those switch-axes for being so heavy..."

As the three traveled down into the depths, Pinkie Pie was left taking a small snooze on the rocks. She made the cutest noises as she slept, but a small rock trickle awoke her from her slumber.

"AAHHH!! PINEAPPLES!!" she shouted frantically as she opened her eyes. She looked around to make sure that no one was around to hear her. She let out a sigh before picking up her heavy bowgun and placing on her back. Just then, Twilight emerged from the tunnel and saw her pink friend, freezing the happy-go-lucky pony in place.

"What's this about pineapples?" the lavender Unicorn asked with an eyebrow raised.

"NOTHING!!" the pink mare abruptly shouted before calming back down to her normal Pinkie self, smiling happily all the while "I mean... Nothing in particular! I just like thinking about Pineapples sometimes! Yeppity yep yep! Yes I do!"

"Well, alright..." Twilight sighed "Let's just get a move on, okay?"

The deeper the four ponies went into the cave, the hotter it became. Of course, most armour was suited for surviving hot temperatures, but soon enough it got to the point when they needed cool drinks. Thankfully, Dark Thunder had a few in his saddlebag.

"Ah... Thanks, man..." Rage said before drinking the refreshing beverage held in his wing "Ahhh... Much better..."

"It's... slightly bitter..." Twilight analyzed after taking a sip from the drink in her magical hold "But yet, it's very refreshing! What's in it?" she took a large swig of the concoction.

"A few ice crystals" Dark explained before cracking a smirk "One or two bitterbugs..."

Twilight immediately spat out the drink all over the ash grey Unicorn's face. He merely wiped it off, still with the smug grin on his face. He decided that the lavender mare had enough and took the drink out of the stunned hunter's grasp with his own magic. He then threw it into a nearby river of lava. The female Unicorn just stood there for a while before Pinkie snapped her back into reality... kinda...

"Cheer up, silly filly!" she bounced around her Unicorn friend "At least you didn't eat any bitterbugs not ground up, right?"

"Ohhhhhh..." Twilight held her belly and felt like vomiting.

"Actually, I wonder how good they would taste NOT ground up?" Pinkie wondered "I bet they would taste great! Well, they must taste great if somepony tried them! I only guess that somepony tried them since they're called bitterbugs. Does that mean they taste bitter? Oooooooh, then in that case I'm sure I'd like to try and eat one to taste that crunchy goodness!"

Twilight lost it. She couldn't suppress the puke in her stomach anymore and she lost her lunch all over the ground.

"Gross..." Rage Quit said as he stared at the chunky green substance "Just hope we can find Butter before Miss. Puke over here

After a while longer, they appeared to have reached the end of the cave; a large room with a rocky bridge to a stone island surrounded by lava. The island was perfectly flat, almost as if it was artificially created by something. On the far side of the decently large island was a small mound of rocks. However, what caught the ponies' attention was the yellow Pegasus with Kecha Wacha armour on in the middle of the isle.

"Butter!" Dark Thunder ran forward to help his brother out, checking his pulse "Oh thank god..." he proceeded to embrace his unconscious brother "I'm so sorry for yelling at you... I promise, I'm going to get you out of here and-"

Everyone heard a slight rumbling on their feet.

"That rumbling didn't sound natural" Twilight pointed out "No seismic power or eruption could have that low of a power down here. Something's very close to us."

"You guys don't think that..." Rage spoke with a look of fear on his face.

"I damn-well hope not..." Dark said "The thing is that it's possible. We have to get out of here now."

"Don't have to tell me twice!" the light blue Pegasus said before turning away from the island and limping away.

"Wait, before we go," the lavender mare spoke up "do you mind if you tell me what exactly we're running from?"

"You really don't want to-"

"Tell her, Rage Quit" the ash grey Unicorn spoke as he carried his brother with his magic "After helping us escape, I think she has the right to know our worst fear."

"...if you say so..." the Pegasus took a deep breath "Well, we think we might be running from a-"

The stallion was interrupted by yet another shake of the ground. Only this time, the stone on the far side of the island began moving. It got up to reveal itself as a creature with a large body, tiny arm, long legs, a tail even bigger than its body and a small head covered in spikes around the lower jaw, which were actually teeth. All along its very dark green body and tail were spikes that also happened to be made of the same stuff as teeth. It was basically a giant hungry mouth with arms and legs. There was only one monster that fit this description. The great devourer know as the...

"DEVILJHO!!" Pinkie Pie screamed at the top of her lungs before running away at the speed of Pinkie "EVERYPONY RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!"

The three conscious ponies wasted no time in running away from the beast. Immediately, the Deviljho turned around and saw its potential next meal. The bane of hunters itself was in constant need of food due to its high body heat, meaning it could eat creatures to extinction. It could eat anything if it was desperate: Aptonoth, Tigrex, Seltas... Not even its own tail was safe from its hungry jaws. It was an eating and killing machine.

"We have to run!" Dark shouted as he ran away with his team from the Deviljho now in hot pursuit of the five ponies for a light snack "There is no way in hell we're fighting that thing! Not with our armour and weapons!"

"Then maybe we don't have to fight it..." Twilight said to herself as she too ran before looking at her pink friend "Pinkie Pie, any way you might be able to knock some stalactites down on top of the Deviljho?"

"Okie-dokie-lokie!" Pinkie smiled before turning around, running backwards on her hind legs and aiming her heavy bowgun at the ceiling where a few of her target stalactites lay dormant. She fired a few rounds at them and let them come crashing down onto the devil monster, causing it to roar in annoyance. Just as the Earth Pony was smiling, she saw that the creature had entered rage mode, its body lighting up red and sparks of electricity coming out of its mouth, not to mention its now glowing red eyes.

"Lemme guess..." Rage Quit ran perfectly normally despite his back leg being broken "Rage mode, right?"

"Yep..." Pinkie nodded.

"Red sparks of electricity?"

"Uh huh..."

"We're screwed now right?"

"Tighter than a lightbulb..."

Rage Quit sighed and continued running from the now enraged Deviljho. Twilight looked back and screamed as she saw the monstrosity chasing them. At long last, a safe area was scouted where they could hide. Not wasting anymore time, Twilight rushed for the safe little cave and tripped over, knocking her necklace of her neck. It bounced around on some rocks in a large lava lake next to them before finally landing on a larger rock, safe and sound.

"C'mon Twilight, forget about it!" the light blue Pegasus shouted to her "It isn't worth it!"

"Yes it is!" she shouted back "Without that necklace, I might not be able to learn more about the Gore Magala and how to beat it! Besides, its very important to my personal life..."

"There's no time!" Dark Thunder called out. However, as soon as he did, the enraged monster appeared, angry and hungry. It spotted the four hiding ponies first, but then noticed the easier lavender one standing out in the open and decided to snack on her instead. Thinking fast, Twilight looked around frantically to try and find an escape from the slowly approaching demon. Finally, she looked behind her and saw the stepping stones over the lava. With no time to lose, she hopped on the first one just in time to escape the beast's jaws.

"Stay focused, Twilight..." she said to herself before hopping onto the next one. Unfortunately for her, the Deviljho had begun to follow her as well, slowly stepping on each of the stones over the skin-boiling hot lava. At long last, she grabbed the necklace when it was in range of her magic. She looked back and saw the devil begin to wobble a bit. It then slipped into the lava, which began eating away at its skin.

(Music stop)

It roared and yelped in excruciating pain as its flesh was burned off and it slowly melted into a horrifying display of blood and bone. Eventually, it stopped roaring, signalling to the lavender mare it was dead as its now lifeless corpse slowly burned away into the lava. She used its remaining body to cross the river back to her team.

"Twilight, that was super-duper incredible!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed in her usual bubbly voice "You actually beat a Deviljho!"

"Well, I didn't technically beat it" the Unicorn mare blushed a bit "It fell into the lake on its own since it was too heavy for the stones to-"

"Oh, quit being a nerd and lighten up!" Rage Quit laughed "Right now though, we need to get Butter back home to base, or he might not make it. Last thing we need is an angry boss, so let's get there on the double, okay?"

"Right!" Twilight nodded.

In the shadows of the underground cave were three figures cloaked in darkness, one of which was clearly taller than the other two. A feminine laugh came from the tall shadow, followed by the laughs of the other two shortly after.

"She actually managed to defeat a Deviljho, on accident no less!" the tall female figure said with a smile "I'd love to see what she'll be able to do next. A shame I'll have to kill her... But I can't have anypony in my way of finding the rare monster of the Badlands."

And that's that! Hey, I'm back on schedule! I'll try my best to post a chapter every single day so you guys can enjoy it. If for some reason I can't, then that means I'm probably doing homework. Eh...

So yes, my OC's name is Rage Quit, who is also me! And yes, Unity is my girlfriend's OC. No, she is not pregnant in real life, but I like kids, so all the more for those who want, right? I just thought that... yeah... you know what I mean.
